The morning of her departure to Brown University dawned hot, a sign to Kim Possible that her new college life was heating up for her and Ron. Now having been employed as Tony Stark's personal bodyguards, both Kim and Ron were about to open new doors living life on the campus of Brown University.
"Guess this is it," Kim thought to herself as she looked in the mirror of her bathroom. "The first day of a new chapter in my life. Shouldn't feel like a sitch, but still…"
Placing the red pendant around her neck, Kim left the bathroom and one last time, looked into her bedroom now regulated on a part time basis. She then walked down the stairs towards her front door while looking at the pictures of herself and Ron from their youth on the wall.
"Been friends since naptime at preschool," Kim chuckled to herself. "Come a long way since."
As she came down the stairs, Kim was met by her parents in the kitchen. The emotion of their daughter's departure evident on their faces.
"Morning," Kim said, taking notice of her parents distressed looks. "Why do you guys look so down? It's not like I'm going away forever."
"Yes, we both know," James replied, trying to hold back his emotions as he drank a cup of coffee at the kitchen table. "It's just that…you've…look at what you have become, Kimmie cub."
Kim looked down at her dress with a confused look on her face.
"I haven't become anything else," she said, walking over to her parents at the table and sitting down next to her mother. "I'm still the same daughter you've always had and I can come back at any time. Besides, you're still associated with Middleton High."
"Yes, your brothers," James remarked, looking out into the den. "Still it's not the same, Kim."
"Seems like only yesterday we were sending you off to your first day of pre-school," Anne added, trying to contain her own emotions. "Now, here you are, about to…"
Losing control of her emotions, Anne cried into her coffee much to Kim's embarrassment.
"Um, mom?" Kim asked. "Not to sound rude, but you are adding your tears to your coffee."
"Oh, sorry, Kimmie."
"I know how this is hard for both of you," Kim sighed, trying to sympathize with her parents. "But we knew that this was coming for a long time now. I have to do this."
Wiping away her tears with a napkin, Anne tried to pull herself together.
"Think of the future I am carving for myself and Ron," Kim added. "Sure it will be a change, but it will be for the better."
"Kim…we…we…WE LOVE YOU!" James cried, throwing himself onto his daughter's shoulder, much to Kim's growing embarrassment. "We're going to miss you so much!"
All Kim could do was role her eyes in slight embarrassment of her parents' display of emotion at her impending departure.

In the early morning hours over Providence, RI, a small private jet landed at TF Green Airport carrying Tony Stark and his close associates, Julia Carpenter and Jim Rhodes. Like Kim, today was a day of transition for the heads of Stark Enterprises.
"You know, Rhode Island's not a bad place to live when you think about it," remarked Jim as they drove away from the airport. "It's small, lots of colleges and it's a thriving arts scene. Tony, I think you made the right choice."
"One of many," he said. "The switching from LA to College City is the best move. This way, we can attract more devote workforces, hungry for the chance to grow their careers with us."
"Tony," asked Rachel, Julia's daughter. "This school I'm going to, Moses Brown, do you think it will be better than my old school?"
"Rach, I think it will be. You ever hear of Soledad O'Brien?"
Like a typical teen, Rachel said nothing.
"Well, she went to Moses Brown and graduated from there."
"At least it will be different than JFK High School," Rachel remarked. "They never let me give myself a chance to prove my talents."
"That's because the student body was huge, honey," Julia said, rubbing her daughter's shoulder. "Moses Brown has close to 800 students while JFK had 2,000."
"I would say the chances of you showing your talents to the world is more than slim if you ask me," Tony chuckled. "You've the got the talents to succeed, Rachel."
All Rachel could do was smile nervously at the prospect of being given her opportunity. But a thought crossed her mind on whether anyone would be willing to give her a chance.
…
Soon the car arrived in Downtown Providence and pulled into Kennedy Plaza in front of a building similar to New York's Empire State Building.
"The famous Superman Building," Tony declared as he looked at the building's entrance with the Stark Enterprises logo on the entrance. "Now the new headquarters of Stark Enterprises."
Getting out of the car, Tony began to take in the possibilities of running his business from this very building. To him, this was the first day of a new chapter in his company's life.
"Mr. Stark," said a doorman, tipping his hat to him. "Welcome home."
"Did you guys know that this used to be a bank?" Tony asked as they entered the new building's lobby. "Fleet was the primary owner."
"What happened to them?" Julia asked.
"Vacated, whereabouts unknown," Tony answered. "Take it all in guys, this is the beginning of our next chapter together."
Walking across the lobby, they made their way up to an elevator to the very top floor of the building, where their offices would be located. Soon, they walked into Tony's office, with the Providence River and Harbor in the background.
"You're lucky, Ton!" Jim cried, a hint of jealousy in his voice. "You get the view of the harbor and I get the view of Kennedy Plaza!"
"Hey, just be thankful it's not on the ground floor," Tony cautioned, sitting in his desk. "Julia, your office will be next door to mine."
"Do I get a harbor view or…?"
"Yes, you do," Tony answered, much to Julia's delight. "All the best for our company's Chief Operating Officer. There's even a piano in there as well."
Hearing that a piano was in her mother's new office gave Rachel a sense of delight.
"Mind if I check it out?" she asked her mother.
"Go on and I'll see you in there," Julia answered and Rachel ran off to her mother's new next door office. "Always thinking about her, aren't you, Tony?"
"All the best for the most beautiful COO in business," Tony remarked, causing Julia to slightly blush at her boyfriend's remark. "And her daughter, of course."
Tony then turned his attention towards his new telephone and focused on what was at hand.
"Now then," he said. "We need to get Possible and Stoppable in here for their job orientation. Do you think we can get it done by today?"
"I wouldn't see why not," Jim said. "The sooner, the better."
"MARGE," Tony asked into the phone. "Can you get me in touch with Kim Possible?"
"Of course, Mr. Stark," Tony's raspy voiced female AI replied. "Please note that she may be in transit to her new home on the Brown Campus."
"If you say so, MARGE," Tony sighed, ending the call and turning his attention to Julia and Jim. "Yes, I get that Possible and Stoppable are adjusting, but we still run a business here."
"Giving it time may not be such a bad idea, Tony," Jim said as he turned to leave the office. "In fact, we can all use it."
"Use what?"
"To get acclimated with our new digs."
Julia then followed to check out her own new office, leaving Tony alone in his.

As they departed Middleton, Kim and Ron took in the last few moments of their lives as high school students before turning their attention to life at college.
"Here we are," Kim said as she took pictures of the road in front of them. "Out on the open road and heading to Brown University with the best man by my side."
"If you say so," Ron chuckled. "Hey, I wasn't going to let you go into this alone, right?"
"You jump, I jump, right?" Kim asked, putting her phone in her purse. "Or did Titanic not teach you anything?"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Ron stammered. "I get what you are saying. If there is one nice thing that I will miss about Boston is the traffic. I mean, look!"
Gesturing to her, Ron showed Kim the backed up traffic going towards Downtown Boston.
"True," Kim remarked. "Feel bad for those flying out of Logan at this time of day."
"So, what do we do when we get to Brown?" Ron asked.
"Well, orientation isn't until tomorrow," Kim answered. "Which is probably a good thing. That way, we can settle down and just get acquainted with Providence. In fact, I might pay Josh a visit."
Ron felt slightly taken aback by what Kim had just said about her former boyfriend.
"Kim, you still keep in touch with Josh?" Ron wondered.
"Just because we aren't together romantically," Kim replied. "It doesn't mean we can get together at least once in a while. After all, he's trying to focus on starting his own college program at the Rhode Island School of Art. He's looking to earn a music degree."
"I see," Ron murmured. "Well, that's good for him, KP. I wish him the best in his endeavors."
…
Just then, Kim heard her Kimmunicator buzz and saw that the call was coming from Stark Enterprises.
"Hello?" Kim asked, looking into Stark's female AI program.
"Is this Kimberly Anne Possible?" MARGE asked.
"It…is?"
"My name is MARGE, Tony Stark's Artificial Intelligence. There is also HOMER, but he's offline for a while."
"Wonder if they are related to the Simpsons," Ron guessed as Kim gestured him to focus on driving.
"Is there something I can do for you?" Kim asked, her eyes displaying her confusing nature.
"There is something you can do for Tony Stark," MARGE answered. "He requests that you and Agent Stoppable report to Stark Headquarters for your job orientation."
"Job orientation?" Ron asked. "But, I thought we were only being bodyguards."
"All new job hires undergo job orientations, Ron," Kim remarked to Ron. "You know that or did you forget you had the same thing happen at Smarty Mart?"
Turning her attention back to the Kimmunicator, Kim awaited her instructions.
"When would you like us to report?" Kim asked.
"Can you report at 5:00pm this afternoon?" MARGE asked. "And please dress professionally."
"You got it," Kim answered with a smile. "Please inform Tony that we'll be there at 5:00pm in professional attire."
Hanging up the Kimmunicator, Kim turned her attention towards the real first test of her new job with Ron.
"At least we brought our stuff down last week," Kim said.
"Yep," Ron replied. "Things are going to get very interesting around here, Kim."
…
…
45 minutes after they left Middleton, Kim and Ron arrived in Providence, Rhode Island and made their way towards their new apartment at the Regency Towers in the Downtown area. Parking their car, Kim and Ron proceeded to the lobby and up to their newly acquired apartment, on the 12th floor, overlooking the complex's swimming pool.
"All right, so what do we do now?" Ron asked. "It's 12:00pm and our orientation with Stark isn't for another few hours."
Looking out the window, Kim looked down at the pool and decided that she was going to take some time to herself.
"Might as well go down to the pool and swim for a bit," she declared, it is a hot day."
"Might as well join you if you are going for a swim," Ron added. "Can also be a good chance for us to stretch out our fighting muscles…unless we need them."
"I'll go change first," Kim said, taking off her black wedges and pulling off her stockings. "Feels good to get these off. The one downside to wearing hosiery, Ron, is wearing them in hot weather."
Going into their bedroom, Kim shut the door leaving Ron to wait his turn to change. Sitting down on the sofa, Ron could only wonder how this impending job orientation was going to go. Just then, he heard a knock at the door and went to answer it.
"Who's that, Ron?" Kim called.
"Not sure," Ron called back. "But I'll check it out. Rufus, stay here."
"Okay," Rufus answered as Ron made his way to the door and opened it. Standing in the doorway was a young teenage boy slightly younger than him and Kim.
"Yes?" Ron asked.
"Hi, are you Ron Stoppable?" the teenager asked.
"Um, yeah? Who are you?" Ron asked in a confused tone.
"Name's Peter Parker," the teenager answered. "Mr. Stark told me about you."
This made Ron slightly confused at what was being said.
"Um, how did you know that Mr. Stark told you about us?" Ron asked, stepping out into the hallway.
"I'm one of his personal proteges," Peter explained. "Took part on a few assignments with him, that sort of thing."
"Huh, interesting," Ron remarked. "Now, when you say proteges, are you like an employee?"
"Sort of."
"What's your position?"
"Well, junior assistant," Peter answered. "Anyways, Mr. Stark asked me to accompany you to your orientation later on today."
"Uh huh," Ron stammered in a confused tone. "Look uh, not trying to sound rude, Parker, but…aren't you a little bit…?"
"Young?" Peter laughed, nudging Ron on the side. "Yeah, I get that a lot."
"By the way," Ron asked. "Not to get personal but…what high school do you go to?"
"Moses Brown. It's not far from Brown University where your girlfriend is going to."
Just then, Kim stepped out of the bedroom wearing a purple two piece bathing suit when she saw her boyfriend and neighbor in the hallway.
"Um, Ron, who is this?" Kim asked in a confused tone. "You must be a neighbor of ours."
"Yeah," Ron replied. "This is Peter Parker."
"Honored to meet you," Peter remarked as he shook Kim's hand. "Heard all the stories about you and Ron here. Mr. Stark told me to escort you to your orientation in a couple of hours."
"Oh."
"Pete's a protégé of Tony Stark's," Ron explained to his confused girlfriend. "Um, listen Pete, we're just gonna head down to the swimming pool for a bit before the orientation."
"Hey, after you swim," Peter suggested. "Why don't you visit my apartment and meet my aunt?"
"Doesn't hurt to pay a visit," Kim remarked. "Sure, we can visit for a bit."
"Great! Have a good swim. Nice meeting the both of you."
So Kim and Ron watched as Peter made his way to his apartment. As he left, Kim couldn't help but notice that the hairs on Peter's hands were standing on end.
"Hey Ron," Kim whispered. "Did you see that?"
"See what?" Ron whispered as Kim pulled him inside their apartment. "Those hairs on his hands. They stood on end."
"Now Kim, maybe the heat is starting to get to you," Ron suggested. "You probably were just seeing things. Let me get changed and we'll head down to the swimming pool."
Giving her a kiss, Ron retreated to change into his bathing suit. But, Kim had a belief that there was more to Peter Parker than met the eye.
…
…
Making their way down to the swimming pool, Kim and Ron were greeted by various families and individuals taking in the late warm summer air. As they took their selected spots, Kim and Ron were watched a bearded man holding a newspaper in a gold aura.
"Um, excuse me?" Ron asked, as the man looked at them. "Are you holding your newspaper…?"
"With magic?" the man interrupted. "Don't worry, it happens all the time. That's what happens when you are a sorcerer."
Ron felt slightly taken aback as did Kim.
"Sorcerer?" Kim asked. "Are you a magician?"
"I wish I was," the man muttered. "I'm Dr. Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon."
"Nice to meet you, Doctor," Kim stammered. "My boyfriend and I are new here. I'm Kim Possible and this is Ron Stoppable."
"Yes, yes, I've heard of you before," Dr. Strange remarked. "I've read all about you in the papers, all the bad guys and crooks you took down as crimefighters. What brings you here?"
"Well, I'm attending Brown University," Kim answered as Dr. Strange put the newspaper down on a table with his magic. "Majoring in Global Studies."
"And what about you, Mr. Stoppable?"
"Um, I'm just here for support. We're also working for Tony Stark now."
Dr. Strange took in a keen eye at what was spoken to him. He began to sense that Kim and Ron were going to play a much bigger role in what was to come.
"Indeed,"
"Anyways, where do you practice at?"
"At Rhode Island Hospital," Dr. Strange said. "Surgeries, Surgeries and nothing but surgeries. At least until my accident a few years ago. Got into a car accident and can only do consultations now."
"I'm sorry," Kim answered as she got up to use the pool. "At least consulting isn't a bad part of your work."
Stepping into the water, Kim took in the coolness of the water as Ron followed suit while Dr. Strange watched them.
"It isn't bad at first, Ms. Possible," he said. "But it can get boring very quickly."
Kim felt a sense of sympathy for Dr. Strange, but felt as if there was something about him that made her wonder if he, like Peter Parker, was more than met the eye.
…
After their two hour swim, Kim and Ron proceeded back to their apartment to change into their business attire before their orientation.
"Ron, that guy we met at the pool today," Kim said as she placed a white pearl necklace around her neck while wearing a her short sleeved black knee length dress. "He says he is a neurosurgeon…"
"But, he should be a magician?" Ron interrupted as he placed a red necktie around the collar of a white button down shirt. "For a guy who has magical powers, he seems to be in the wrong line of work.
Smoothing out her dress, Kim grabbed a pair of nylon pantyhose out of her dresser drawer and sat down on the bed to slide them on.
"Ron, something's been on my mind for the past few hours," Kim said as she slid on her pantyhose and smoothed them out on her legs. "This Dr. Stephen Strange and that new kid, Peter Parker. Do you think they might be connected in some way?"
"That there is more to them than meets the eye?" Ron guessed. "The magician definitely, but Pete…I'm not sure."
Sliding on her black high heel shoes, Kim still kept her suspicions up.
"I mean, I saw his hairs stand up on end, Ron," Kim protested, as she grabbed a pair of white pearl earrings and placed them on her ears. "You may not believe me, but what if I show you for yourself?"
"If you say so, Kim," Ron replied. "But, I don't think that it is nothing major."
Throwing on her black suit jacket, Kim knew what she saw and very soon, her suspicions about Peter Parker would be brought into the light!
