Finally Naru spoke, "Mai...I have something to tell you."
"Yes Naru?"
"I know right now I should be asking about what happened yesterday but I believe that telling you this now is more important, because what I'm going to do from now on depends on the fact that you know my true feelings. And after I tell you about it, I want you to tell me everything that happened. I'm dying to know who did this to you and why. But I'll wait till you understand your positioning in my life. And that is something I'm going to explain you right now."
"You are scaring me Naru. I have something to tell too, a lot of things actually. But you go first."
"Listen Taniyama Mai, what I'm going to tell you right now is the truth and I'll do everything to make you understand and believe me... I...Mai...actually I've been in lov..."Naru was almost there but in that exact moment ICU's door flung opened and came in an old monk.
The monk was coming very loudly chanting some mantras and before Naru could say or understand something he threw some talismans on Mai.
The moment talismans touched Mai, she started to scream a painful cry.
"Just what are you doing??" Naru shouted and tried to pull the monk out of the room but before him Takigawa got hold of the monk and punched him in the face.
A few moments later both monks were grabbing each other's collar while Naru was holding Mai who has now stopped crying but was looking like she was about to faint.
"Just what the hell is happening here." Yasuhara and others arrived just in time to watch the drama in Which two monks were ready to fight and two lovers were looking like they are dying together like in a tv show.
"What are you doing here oyaji?" Takigawa was practically grunting.
"What? This old monk is your father?" Mitsuzaki and every other SPR excluding Naru and Takigawa himself were looking shocked.
"What did you do to Mai?" Naru asked who was not one bit amazed by knowing this new fact that the old monk is Takigawa's father rather he was solely concerned about Mai who has calmed down but was still holding Naru's hand for support.
"Are you feeling good now oujosan?"instead of answering them old monk decided to ask Mai.
Everyone's attention centered on Mai.
"Actually yes, I'm feeling a lot better now. Like a burden or something heavy got out of my body. I'm feeling light." Mai smiled a little.
"What does that mean Mai? Were you possessed?" Naru asked.
This question raised the curiosity which was already at its spike.
"You'll tell them or I should oujosan?" the old monk was now sitting at the chair Naru stood from.
It was an awkward situation. Many questions were raising in everyone's mind but they decided not to ask them until either Mai or the old monk himself explain them the situation they were in or until Naru decides to ask.
"I should, Oji san." Every ear perked and eyes turned towards Mai as started her story.
"Almost 6 days ago, while coming back from work I went to buy some chocolates to the near by store. There I saw a little boy around 6 or 7 years old. He was staring at the chocolate I was going to buy. I asked him if he wanted it. He said yes, so I gave him one piece of it. But he asked for more and I gave him again. We did it until there was only one chocolate left for me." Mai took a deep breath as though mourning for those chocolates.
"The last chocolate, I didn't want to give him. And he knew. He said if I give him the last chocolate he will not curse me. It was awkward hearing those words from a little boy. Anyways I thought he watched too many tv shows, I let it slide but gave him the last chocolate."
"When we parted ways he smiled at me and said if next time someone asked you to give him anything that is important to you refuse him instantly. You shoud not give unless you gain something back, and just like that he left." Everyone were looking at Mai to continue her story.
"Now that I think about it that boy warned me about what was going to happen. But I was an idiot who couldn't see the significance of his warning."
"That evening when I got home, I dreamed a strange dream, it looked like I was in astral plane, I'm not sure but there was no Gene instead there was a horrible creature...really horrible creature" Mai started to sob.
Naru squeezed her hand gently.
"It's alright Mai, You don't have to continue if you're not feeling like it." Matsuzaki assured her.
"No, I want to...but the seen was just so..." Mai wiped her tears and started again.
"That creature was eating a human...in front of me..."
