"Because it would give them Moksha." Naru declared.
"I don't quite understand. What is 'Moksha'?" asked John. The buddhist terms were not familiar to him.
Off course John was looking at Naru but it was Takigawa who answered.
"It is liberation. The one who got Moksha is free from being born again again. Also they won't have to care for there Karma or anything anymore. It releases them from the boundations, that are applied even to a deity. They are just free for eternity."
"So we just have to put beads out and they'll help us right? It's sounding really simple then why was old monk so against it?" asked Masako.
"It's because there is very little chance that they'll hear us out. It's dangerous for even them to come into human world and stay for long without being affected from the greed of alives. And every spirit who gets affected with human greed definitely turns into a demon." This time Matsuzaki replied with seriousness flowing through her eyes.
"Everything is damn complicated." Sighed Yasuhara who had been listening quietly until then.
"No, it's not complicated just hard. We need someone who can help us beyond this world. Who can communicate to both, us and the spirits. That's why I'm having a special someone's help in this." Naru knew exactly what he was doing and he won't stop until he saved Mai.
Naru hadn't felt obligated to explain them anything in the previous cases. and if it was any other case Naru wouldn't have bothered to explain them even this time. He would have just went on with the plan. But this time Mai's life depended on it and any mistake can be fatal blow to his plans.
"Now who is this special someone boss?" Yasuhara spelled everyone's question.
It didn't even take 2 seconds and before Naru Masako blurted out "Gene is it?"
"Yes, Gene." Said Naru as it was really obvious.
"Ok Naru boy I understand this that Gene is going to be the medium between us and the spirits. And suppose they liked the idea. But the main question still remains. The starting point you know. Where are the beads?" Takigawa was looking sharply at Naru.
"Last time when I heard anything about beads was when I was 12. The chief monk said it was in India. How are we supposed to get them here in this short time. And what if they refused. It is not something they'll give up willingly." He went on.
"I have already called them about it and they said yes. The beads will be here by 5 AM tomorrow morning" Naru said still as monotonous as ever.
"What!!! and they said yes?."
"Yes."
"Just that easily?"
"Not that easily. Instead we have to do them a favour."
"What favour?"
"That is not important at this moment."
"No, everything is important. And if you trust us you should tell each and every detail. Only than we'll be able to work as a proper team this time. You know the risk is too big but so is our love for Mai. And that reason alone should be enough for you to share anything and everything related to this case."
Words were being thrown like ping pong ball between Naru and Takigawa. As for the SPRs they were just trying to grasp the situation. But Takigawa's last comment had turned their ears up. Even though they are not used to Naru sharing everything with them, and they never really cared about it before but this time they wanted to be involve more understandingly.
Naru resigned to their expecting eyes and said:
"We have to take the case of a supposed to be demon for them. It has caused more than 13 deaths in the past 3 months, 10 of them were monks and other 3 were exorcists they called to control it. I said yes to them. I admit I still haven't been able to evaluate if we can do it or not, despite that I said yes. Because as I have said before, saving Mai is my top priority right now and ever will be."
Naru was Waiting for their responses except he didn't know exactly what he wanted to hear.
He was feeling anxious as he himself knew he was being selfish.
But it was SPR, who loved Mai to death and more.
"Ok Naru." Were the only words Takigawa muttered.
And everyone nodded their heads consent.
"offcourse, what else I expected." Naru chuckled in his thoughts.
Seeing all of them He couldn't decide whether he is so lucky to have them or they were really unlucky to struck with him. Whichever the case was, he was extremely grateful for all their support and trust.
What they were going to do was not like any other cases they had in the past, this time it was beyond human limitations and if even one of them died he would not be able to forgive himself. They were all precious to him.
"I'll keep each and everyone of you safe." Naru declared with a little hint of smile and appreciation that may not have been visible to his team members.
To be continued.
