Okay..Yay! Another chapter! I was so reluctant to actually even put this one out because I wasn't sure if people would be happy with my opinions, but then I was thinking, that doesn't really matter what people think of my choices, especially something like this. So just a heads up, you may not agree with me, but I hope that doesn't change your opinion of this story. Enjoy!

It was late at night again, but Sophie was staying in her room. Nobody had heard anything from Keefe still, and she had even tried to telepathically feel his presence and couldn't. Keefe, if you're there, please tell me you're okay. She took the risk of reaching out to him, but nothing had happened after she did. Sophie knew she should sleep now, but it was so difficult knowing that something might've happened to her friend. She calmed herself by staring out the window, at the dusky purple sky dotted with little lights. The silhouette of a willow stood tall and proud by the path she had walked with Fitz earlier that day. Everything was still and calm, and with the floral scent of the flowers draped around her room, it was easy to be relaxed. Considering the fact that her head was pounding with stress only a few minutes ago, it was quite surprising. Sophie laid her head on her hand and half closed her eyes, just looking at the tree and it's gently moving leaves.

Then she jerked her head up, and felt like her tired eyes were deceiving her. She had seen someone move down by the tree. She grabbed her cape off of her bed and pulled it around her shoulders. Sophie headed out of her room and the common room and walked out to the path outside. Once she could see the willow a little better, she tried to focus her eyesight to see if someone was actually there. She was pretty sure that she could just barely make out someone sitting underneath it. Sophie focused on putting one foot in front of the other, and she made sure to have her brain awake if she had to make a defensive move. She was trying to be as quiet as possible. When she was almost up to the figure, she barely whispered into the night.

"Keefe?" The figure looked over at her and almost immediately got up and ran over. He hugged Sophie as tightly as he could, and she hugged him back.

"Sophie." he whispered.

"You're okay Keefe!" Tears started welling up in her eyes, and she wasn't totally sure why. Keefe pulled back a little, and he looked at her with his icy colored eyes.

"Are you sad that I'm okay, Foster?" he still smiled a bit so Sophie knew he was joking, but his tone of voice just didn't match up.

"An empath like you should know that sadness definitely isn't one of the emotions that I'm feeling right now." Keefe laughed, but still, Sophie knew he was masking something under his ability to turn serious things into a joke.

"You choose this time to bring that up?" Sophie backed away for a second so she could see his face.

"So that's what this is about?" Keefe genuinely looked confused at this.

"Is what about?" Sophie breathed carefully. She wasn't sure if he actually didn't know what she was talking about, but considering he was able to talk to her last night, even if it was telepathically, she assumed he was faking not knowing.

"Your nightmares Keefe, they've done something to you."

Keefe acted shocked. "How could a little dream change me, Foster?"

"I don't know Keefe. You just seem… different. I'm not sure how to explain it. I mean for one, you were gone all of today and nobody knew where you were."

Keefe just kind of stood there, looking lost somehow. "Fair point."

A tear had begun to run down Sophie's face, but even she hadn't noticed it until Keefe reached up and gently brushed it away. She smiled a little sadly up at him. "I hope you know that you're never alone."

Keefe smiled back at her. "With the Mysterious Miss F always worrying about me, how could I think I was?"

Sophie couldn't help but laugh at his comment. "Well you see here Keefe, there's nothing you can do to change that." They both started laughing and Keefe grinned at her. Then he pulled her back into a hug and they stood there for a while, both trying to make sense of everything. Sophie leaned her head against Keefe's shoulder, and he placed his hand on the back of her head. "I'm not the one who should be comforted for something, Keefe." Sophie knew the argument wouldn't help, because as much as she worried about him, he worried the same about her.

"I would rather not believe that, Foster." Sophie was confused at what he had just said.

"Why?" Keefe didn't say anything for a second, and then he responded.

"Because this would all be for nothing." He pulled back a tiny bit, looked at her, and pressed his lips up against hers.
