I really wanted to make Jessi still down to earth with a rather common job (like some of the others) but nope, she ended being in the glamorous category lol. The show that Jessi is on is based after the Australian show Dance Academy. Dance was such a big part of her character where I could not write her dancing somehow. I really like that show and thought this would be something that I can see Jessi totally do. Up next is Abby and then I'll have a special note about possibly continuing this in a way if interested.

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone likes this chapter.

Jessi Ramsey smoothed her ballerina bun and started practicing her ballet steps in front of the wall of mirrors. Around her the students were duplicating her every move. She took a deep breath ready to make her next move before someone had shouted cut.

Startled out of her process she turned to the director, an annoyed look on her face. He just looked sheepish and then just nodded.

"Alright everyone gather around," said the man, Warren, as Jessi walked over to him along with the rest of the cast around her.

"We're going to lunch here in a minute. I just wanted to remind you all that Eloise Blanchard and Derek Masters will be here for her first day on set."

There was a small murmur that went around the cast. Eloise Blanchard was a famous actress well known around Paris and across Europe. Derek Masters was a former child actor that had just made a big come back about three years ago. He was famous for playing the lead in some superhero movie. He also happened to be one of her friends. He was guest starring in the show that she was in.

Yes, Jessica Ramsey had become sort of famous. She had danced for a long time and well into her college years even though she was majoring in French and dance education to teach. Jessi had picked up acting as a side gig after meeting up with Derek after so many years. What was a small role turned into a fairly average stream of acting gigs. Until eventually she had been hired on as a dance teacher for a new show. This show was about a group of teenagers starting at a high school that taught dance in all forms while they had the trials and tribulations of being a teen.

She was dancing, acting, and teaching all at the same time. In a way it was beautiful as many of the actors around her were learning real techniques.

"Jessica," said Warren facing her. "I have your script."

Her face a little red she got up and skimmed over the pages. Whoa, she had a lot of lines this episode and raised her eyebrows at him wondering if this was a joke of some sort.

"This season you'll have your own arc," he explained. "Your character Lucille will be bringing her niece to the school and she will cause some conflict."

Interesting, thought Jessi, already knowing what was going to happen from flipping back and forth. Plus years of reading gave her an idea of how a typical teen drama would work out. Eloise would play as her niece. Derek was going to be playing a grief counselor that is brought in after the plot twist from last season.

"This looks good," she said. "Makes me glad I'm a regular now."

"Good thing too, we're getting four seasons as planned and you're going to be a regular in both. It really helps that we have a professional ballerina on set."

"Well I'm glad that I'm able to put all those years I've been in ballet to use," she said with pride in her voice. Jessi was pretty happy to get all of her traveling done in her formative years. Including at least a couple of years in the Russian and French ballet. David Brailsford as a teacher in NYC was a plus too.

"It's been very helpful, and the cast is really looking good. When we come back from lunch, I want you to run your lines with Derek first and then with Quinn."

"I'll make sure to add some ballet and other dance notes," added Jessi as he nodded.

Quinn heard her name and smiled at her excited to start the new season. Her character, Jana, had just come back to the dance school after the summer. It was really fun when the two were together on the set. After a few more notes Jessi made her way to her dressing room and sat back to relax a minute.

Her smart phone was light up with notifications after notifications. The first from her mom checking in on her as always. The second was from Becca reminding her that she was coming to visit the set soon. Squirt, or rather JP, reminded her that his college graduation party was coming up. The rest was all reminders of what was going to happen that day.

It's a good thing I'm in New York, thought Jessi, and leaned back into her director's chair and called Becca first.

"Hey Becca," she said cheerfully, "how's everything in Stoneybrook?"

"Pretty good Shea and I are going to be in New York next week," she said filling her in on how they were doing. They didn't have kids, so they were traveling around for a bit. Everyone was going to be in town for JP's college graduation party.

Then she called her mom talking about party stuff.

"They're college kids plenty of food and a cook out is a great idea," she said nodding her head even though her mom couldn't physically see her.

A lot of Squirt, er, JP's friends would be there. Jessi thought back to her days in Stoneybrook. They weren't long before she started to travel with her dance troupe. She smiled remembering all that time she spent baby-sitting and when she learned sign language. The last time she was there was for some friend of Becca's wedding since she was the bridesmaid and friends with the family.

Looking down at her phone once more she opened her Facebook app and searched a familiar name on her friends list: Mallory Pike. Now would be a really good time to check back up with her again. Jessi found her profile easily which lead to finding the other members of the BSC rather quickly. It only took a second or two to send a friend request. After all, she wasn't that far away.
