Some of you asked me about not including Rocket. I just want to make it clear that I have nothing against her, even found her charming in the few scenes I saw her in. But I did not feel confident that I could write her character accurately. The other characters I write about, I have a good foundation of knowledge to base off of. I am more familiar with them through not just TV shows but some comic and background information I have read. I just did not have enough experience or knowledge about Rocket to write her in well enough. I was even hesitant about adding in Zatanna, since her younger version was kind of a last minute add in like Rocket. But I at least was familiar with Zatanna's character as a whole.

As for the DC Extra shorts, I'll be adding what I am crossing over the shorts with at the end.

Chapter 7: Keeping Up With the Waynes

"Dude, I was dreading a cold shower, but how does Wayne manor keep good, hot water pressure for so long? The girls must have been in the showers for an hour each before we even bothered!" Wally sat down on one of many chairs around Robin's room. The Boy Wonder had gotten his hands on a laptop and was currently scouring the internet, absorbing as much information as he could.

He still responded to Wally though, waving his hand at the younger speedster, "First. Aqualad, Superboy and I immediately took showers almost as soon as Alfred showed us to our rooms. Second, there is a whole system of water tanks and electrical systems under Wayne manor. Not to mention its own backup power plant. At least, the Wayne manor I knew did. Knowing Batman, I am pretty sure this one is no different. The showers here could probably run hot water for hours before the first tank reserve depletes. Then another day with the second and third tanks. But that's not what's important right now. I've been researching this world, you know, catching up on where things are in terms of culture and technology."

"What did you find?" Aqualad moved behind Robin, peering over his shoulder at the computer screen.

"Well, not too bad but not perfect either. This world is behind in technology, but not in an alarming sense. History seems pretty similar, we even share a lot of celebrities and singers."

Superboy smirked from where he was sitting by the balcony door, "Oh joy. And here I was worried that I would miss my favorite soap on TV."

Robin let out his signature laugh, "You mean the 'No Signal' channel you love staring at?"

"...I don't do that anymore."

"Uh huh."

The boys laughed at the half-Kryptonian's expense when they heard a knock at the door. Already guessing who it was, Robin called out from his seat, "Come in!"

Zatanna opened the door, smirking at the group of boys as she entered, M'gann and Artemis right behind her, "Having fun without us? Should I be jealous?"

Robin swirled his seat around, his blue eyes seeming to glow with mischief, "Be jealous? Of them? Ha! None of these guys hold a candle to you, Z!"

"Hey! What am I, chopped liver? Just because you get a girlfriend, you replace me as number one? That's cold dude, even for you!" Wally feigned a look of hurt, even going as far as to grab his chest like he was in pain.

"Sorry Wallman. You aren't half as beautiful as Zatanna. Or even a quarter as funny!" The magician felt her cheeks go a little red before she slapped a hand against the Boy Wonder's arm, taking a seat on the desk next to him.

"Wow dude. That actually hurt. Seriously."

"All completely true though." Artemis took a seat on top of Wally's lap, ignoring the hurt puppy dog look he sent her and hanging her head back over the armrest and staring up at the amazing clean ceiling, "Hey Dick, I know this isn't really important but does Alfred work here by himself? Ignoring the fact that there are a lot of guest rooms prepared and ready for us, they were all very clean and well kept. Didn't you say Alfred also cooks and cleans for you? And help you and Batman maintain your equipment? He must be paid a lot."

Robin shrugged his shoulders, "Alfred is family. I think Bruce left Alfred almost everything in his will."

M'gann had taken a seat next to Superboy, kicking her feet a little as she leaned forward, "Isn't Mister Alfred a lot older than Mister Wayne? And what about you?"

"Eh, I doubt I'm not in there somewhere. And I don't think Bruce expects to outlive Alfred..."

"Whoa dude, that's dark." Wally was playing with Artemis' hair, looking down at his green archer and for the first time, thought about what he wanted for their future together.

"He is called the Dark Knight for a reason."

The whole room shared a quiet chuckle, the room falling into a comfortable silence before M'gann spoke up, "This is so nice.. I know it's only been a few weeks but it feels like it's been years since we could just...relax."

Aqualad crossed his arms, letting out a small sigh, "With the rush of dangerous and admittedly horrifying events that we have experienced since the dimension incident, it is understandable that you feel that way M'gann. We have had no time to properly recuperate. Take advantage of this time, for we will have a lot of work to do if we are to get back home."

"Hey, as soon as Batman returns the Boom Tube generator, we can leave any time!" Wally grinned at Kaldur, who just shook his head at the redheaded speedster.

"No."

"No? What do you mean no?" Superboy glared at their leader, crossing his arms as well.

Instead of answering Conner, Kaldur looked at Wally, "Kid. Have you found a way to successfully navigate our destination?"

The speedster shifted a little on his seat, causing Artemis to glare at him for moving. He just gave her one of his goofy grins before looking back at the Atlantian, "Unfortunately, no. When the Boom Tube got damaged during our escape from Superman's enforcers, I barely put it back together. It was a miracle that I got us out of there instead of ripping us apart in time and space!"

"And we are very grateful that you did, however. We cannot keep blindly jumping from one dimension to another. We barely survived the first three jumps we made. And with how there are infinite possibilities, the chances of us randomly finding our home is slim to none. We will not survive." Aqualad let his words sink in, keeping his steady gaze on everyone in the room.

"So then what's the plan? Stay here? Leave behind the lives we have back home?" Wally was glaring, not particularly angry at Aqualad but feeling the strain of the situation.

"No. But until we can properly and accurately navigate where we jump to, there will be no point in leaving a world where we are safe."

The speedster sighed, running a hand through his hair, "That's not going to be easy Kaldur. Dimension travel is iffy at best, unforgiving at its worst. Trying to calculate and then make some sort of, navigation system to guide us through dimension travel is going to be..."

"Impossible?" M'gann spoke in a quiet voice.

"Difficult. Very difficult. It would be hard with the technology and resources we had back home. Here? I don't even know where to start."

"All we can ask, is that you work on it Wally. You are our only hope." Aqualad smiled at his old friend, who nodded back.

"No pressure there dude."

They all laughed a little again, Artemis rolling her eyes before giving her silly boyfriend a peck on the cheek, "You'll figure it out."

"In the mean time then..." Robin clapped to get everyone's attention, "We need to have a serious discussion about what we are going to do here."

"What do you mean?" Zatanna tilted her head.

"I mean, we don't exist here." He paused, looking at Zatanna before grinning at her, "Well, most of us don't exist here. Meaning there is no precedent for us here. Which means it'll be up to us to decide what we are going to do from now on."

"Stick together of course." Wally looked at each of them. Of course, no one disagreed with him.

"But what then? Are we just going to keep a low profile and wait around while KF tries to figure out inter-dimensional navigation? Are we going to keep doing what we did before, except without Batman or the League's guidance? Or..." Robin looked at Aqualad who just nodded, "Are we going to join the League?"

"What?"

"No way!"

"Join the League?" Zatanna, Wally, and Artemis all spoke up at the same time.

Superboy had a sour look on his face before looking away and out the balcony door. M'gann reached out and squeezed his hand, telepathically connecting with him, Conner, what's wrong?

Nothing.

I don't have to read your mind to know something has been bothering you for a while now. Please Conner, don't shut me out...

M'gann heard her half-Kryptonian sigh inside his head, I just... He's so different here.

Who?

Superman. He just feels different, you know? More...

Nice?

Conner gave her a funny look before shrugging, I guess. He just feels more accepting and open. I guess I'm afraid that if this Superman found out I was a clone, he would... I don't know, treat me like our Superman would. Like a freak.

Conner... He doesn't think of you as a freak. He just doesn't know how to react to you. You know that...

Yeah...right. Superboy looked away again, glaring out the balcony door, Well he's done nothing but avoid me and treat me like I'm not there, so it doesn't matter anyways.

Hey... M'gann gripped Conner's chin, turning his face so he looked at her, You are more than Superman. More than a clone or whatever you think you are to him. You are Conner Kent, the boy I love. You are strong, brave, and sweet. And if he can't see that, then he doesn't deserve to have you in his life. Don't let yourself be defined by him, Conner. You have grown so much, and you found out who you are and what you want to be, with us. Isn't that enough?

Superboy grabbed the Martian's hand, pressing his cheek into her palm, Of course it is enough. It's just... Robin has Batman. Wally has Flash. Kaldur has Aquaman, Zatanna has...um, had Zatara, you have your uncle, and even Artemis has Green Arrow. I've got nothing. The one person who can teach me, help me figure out all this...Kryptonian stuff, and he doesn't want anything to do with me. That's part of the reason why, when Lex offered me the shields and helped me with my powers...

Nodding her head at the debacle they faced two months ago, M'gann pulled Conner into a hug, I understand Conner. Maybe...maybe this Superman will be different. He certainly seems...nicer.

Heh, yeah. Nicer. Definitely feels less severe doesn't he? Both Superboy and M'gann chuckled.

"Hey! Superboy, Miss M!" Both Martian and half-Kryptonian looked over at Robin, who raised his eyebrow at the pair, "Thank you for rejoining us. Now if you two are done making googly eyes at each other, we were in the middle of discussing what we were going to do."

Wally wrapped his arms around Artemis' waist without thinking, pulling her closer to his chest as he spoke, "How do you even know the League wants us to join them?"

Aqualad and Robin shared another look before the dark skinned boy looked back at the Team, "Superman pulled me and Robin aside before we left the Watchtower. While he said it with tentative care, he did bring up the possibility of us joining the League, as full time heroes."

"No way Batman accepted that..." Robin muttered under his breath before continuing, "Point is, we have options. Things we can choose to do while we stay in this dimension. We need to decide what we want to do, and how to proceed."

"If the League wants us, why refuse?" Wally looked around at his fellow teammates.

Robin sighed, "Well for one. We don't know how committed we can be. While yes, it may take you a while to figure out how to get back home. But we do plan to go home. Joining the League is not a light decision. We'll be part of a team, a bigger team than just us. We won't be doing simple reconnaissance or stealth missions anymore. We'll be in the limelight."

"There is a possibility that the League, this League, could come to rely on us being here to properly function. However slight that may be. It is a risk we take if we join." Aqualad looked thoughtful, leaning back against the wall.

"Then lets stick to being just us. What's the problem?" Superboy held onto M'gann's hand, stroking the back with his thumb.

Robin shook his head, "There are also demerits to that as well. For one, we don't have any viable resources here. Even if we try to strike out on our own, we'll have to rely on League support to get started anyways. Unless you all want to get day jobs so we have a place to stay, food, clothes, not to mention thousands of dollars of equipment we'd need to maintain our gear."

"So no on striking out on our own. Got it." Wally shuddered at the thought of them trying to make enough money for all of that. Especially in a world where they had no proper identification or records. They were all still minors as well, Superboy being barely a year old to boot.

"Why not ask Bruce Wayne to fund us?" Zatanna raised an eyebrow at her Boy Wonder, who smiled at her a little.

"Out of everyone in the League, Bruce trusts us the least. I don't think he's going to be willing to fund us making an organization of our own... Especially when it sounds like they are just starting to build up the Justice League."

Wally leaned back, not meaning to pull Artemis along who yelped at the sudden shift in position. She glared at him but made no move to pull away, "Well then, I guess option C is our best one. Kick back, relax, enjoy the vacation."

That got Artemis to wack the speedster in the arm, making him jump in his seat and almost throw her off, "What was that for?"

"We wouldn't last a week, and you know it Wally."

"Well.." At the look everybody was giving him, the speedster ducked his head, "I could last at least a month."

"And how long do you think it'll take you to fix the Boom Tube?"

"...Okay point."

Aqualad sighed again, for the first time showing fatigue on his face, "The one thing we have a lot of right now, is time. Rest, get your strengths back and calm your minds. We can adjourn after some proper rest and make a decision with clearer minds."

"Seconded." Artemis threw her hand up, the others making similar sounds of agreement.

"There is no urgency for anything tomorrow, but I implore you all get some rest instead of dallying." Aqualad smiled at his his teammates who waved him off, telling him to stop being a dad. The Atlantian rolled his eyes before departing for his room next door.

"So...party?" Wally made finger guns at everyone. No one acknowledged him, Artemis actually making a point to turn and start a conversation with Zatanna about something completely different.

"You guys suck, you know that?"

M'gann dragged Conner out of the room, waving at everyone else as they made a B line for his room. Robin had returned to typing away at the laptop, looking up something or another while Zatanna and Artemis talked quietly in the corner of the room.

"So... I'm still starving. Going to go raid the kitchen. Any of you want anything?" Artemis looked up from her conversation, giving Wally a smile and waving her hand.

"Get me and Zatanna something to drink." When the speedster made to run, she called out to him, "Something that won't keep us awake! I seriously need some sleep tonight..."

"You got it babe." He was gone in a blur, not having bothered to wait for Robin to say something, knowing the young Bat was too preoccupied with his research.

Artemis still felt her cheeks go a little red at his pet name. He used that word a lot but the way he looked at her when he said it now, reserving it for just her and no one else since they had started dating, made knots in her stomach. Seeing Zatanna smirking at her and wiggle her eyebrows, Artemis glared at one of her best friends, mouthing 'bite me' at the magician.

It only took a minute for Kid Flash to zip back, placing an arm full of snacks and drinks onto one of the tables with a proud grin, "Score!"

"Wally... Did Alfred say you could take those?" The speedster froze, looking down at the snacks, then at Artemis, before looking back at the snacks again.

"Uh..."

"Wally..."

Robin waved his left hand over his head, "Don't worry. I doubt even KF could eat everything in our pantry. Besides, all those things are there in case guests come. Bruce doesn't eat those things and Alfred is one person. I doubt he'd mind."

"See babe? Completely fine."

Rolling her eyes at her redhead, Artemis grabbed two bottles of water, tossing one to Zatanna who shot her a grateful look. All four heroes turned towards the balcony door when a bright light flooded the sky. The Bat symbol could be see against the clouds, a shining beacon of hope for the city.

Robin jumped up from his seat, running out the door almost as fast as Kid Flash. The three remaining heroes in the room looked at one another before scrambling after the Boy Wonder. Zatanna looked at Artemis and Wally as they turned the corner, "Did Robin forget that this isn't our dimension? I doubt Batman would welcome Robin tagging along into Gotham."

"You know Robin, too much of Batman in him to just leave things be..." Wally grinned at Zatanna before vaulting over the staircase rail, his archer and the magician right behind him.

Kid Flash slid to a halt near the front door, "Uh, do any of you know how to get into the Batcave from here?" Both Zatanna and Artemis looked around, as if they would find an entrance into a cave around the modern manor.

Zatanna snapped her fingers, "The grandfather clock! Batman used that to go to the Batcave when we first got here!"

"Right!" Kid Flash zipped off again towards the living room, the two heroines quickly following. Wally saw the grandfather clock already open and zipped inside and down the steps, sliding to a halt as he looked around the large cave system, "Whoa..."

Seeing the different gadgets, vehicles and machinery strewn about the large cave, Kid Flash whistled, "Rob, you've been holding out on me. Uncle Barry seriously needs to invest into a cooler headquarters. I mean, damn."

"I'm just trying to help!"

"I don't need your help."

"Not from where I'm standing. Seems like you could use some backup."

"That's what the League is for."

"Oh please, like you'd call the League for something like this."

Having expected the argument, but still not wanting to get involved, Kid Flash took quiet steps back towards the Batcave entrance when he heard two sets of footsteps barreling down the stairs.

"Wally, did you find-" The speedster clamped a hand over Artemis' mouth but it was too late, her voice carried far into the Batcave. The Dark Knight turned from where he was arguing with the Boy Wonder, glaring at the three new intruders.

"Hello...Batman." Zatanna waved from behind Wally, sticking her head out to the side, "We saw the Bat signal. Thought you needed a-"

"I don't."

"He does." Robin said at the same time. Both Bats glared at one another, Batman with his cowl down, Robin in his civilian clothing.

"You are all my guests. You are not from this world, you do not know my city. You are staying here." Batman grabbed his cowl, pulling it back on as he turned to leave.

Robin took another step forward, "I may not be from this world, but I know Gotham. I know criminals. And I know how to handle myself. I even know them." He pointed his finger at the supercomputer's monitor, which had an image of Shade, Copperhead, and Livewire robbing one of Gotham's biggest banks, "I know that since the League formed, super villains have been uping their game too in response. You need back up."

"I can handle three of them fine on my own." Batman paused when Clayface morphed onto the scene. Robin crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow at the Dark Knight who just glared back, "Four is no different. Stay. Here." The older Bat pointed his finger at the ground before turning around and jumping off the platform, landing inside the Batmobile and blasting off.

"Can you believe him?" Robin gestured wildly in the air, turning to look at his fellow teammates.

"Uh..." Wally held a hand up, about to point out how similar Robin was to Batman when Zatanna pinched his lower back, hard. His face went almost as red as his hair as he bit down on his tongue, silencing a scream that almost made it out of his mouth. Glaring back at the magician, Wally slapped her hand away before speaking, "Yeah man, really...unbelievable. Emphasis on the 'un'."

"Well whether he likes it or not, he needs help. I'm going after him. You coming?" Robin made his way towards the entrance of the Batcave when Artemis stepped in front of him.

"Uh, hello Robin? Our uniforms are in tatters, not to mention some of us are seriously low on gear."

"If I may." Everyone turned to look at Alfred, who had a suitcase in each hand and two more on the floor by his feet, "I took the liberty of repairing your costumes and acquiring some new toys for you all to use. It is last minute, but I believe they are better than nothing." He held one suitcase out to Robin, the other to Kid Flash.

"Uh, thanks. How did you..." Alfred just smiled at Wally, giving the boy a wink before picking up the other two suitcases, holding one out to Artemis and the other one out to Zatanna.

"Thank you. Seriously, I hope Batman is paying you a fortune." Artemis smirked at Alfred, the butler shrugging his shoulders as he turned to leave.

"Thanks Alfred." Robin was already opening his suitcase, holding up his black, yellow, and red suit looking as good as new. There were batarangs and a grapple gun at the bottom instead of his familiar discs and collapsible staff, but he would make do.

"There is a changing area for the ladies on the second level below, please do be careful out there. I would hate to think my actions caused any of you harm." Alfred had opened up a secret elevator hidden in the wall of the Batcave, having stepped inside and turned around to offer them all a warm smile before the doors closed.

"You know Rob, maybe Alfred has been the true Batman all along..."

"Shut up Wally."

"You know Bats, we were starting to worry that you and the super geeks had forgotten about little old us. With you guys busy saving the planet from those chicken heads, and cleaning up the mess afterwards, you barely spend any time with us." Clayface turned his face into some random woman, mimicking her voice at the end with a sad expression.

Copperhead swiped at Batman, turning to look at Clayface with a disgusted expression, "Dude...stop that. It's seriously disturbing."

"Can we please stop with the banter. The longer we waste time with the Batman, the more chances of the League showing up to help him out." Shade pointed his nightstick at the Dark Knight, darkness pouring out and attempting to wrap around the hero.

"I say bring em on! I could use something more to fry!" Livewire pointed both her hands at Batman, ignoring the fact that Copperhead was trying to bite down on him and firing a large stream of electricity. Batman jumped in the air without even turning around, dodging her attack while Copperhead gasped and jumped to the side, his tail nearly getting singed.

"Hey! Watch where you're firing! You almost fried me!"

"Then get out of the way snake head!"

"It's...Copperhead you crazy bitch!"

Shade slammed his cane onto the ground, "Enough! Didn't you fools hear what I said? Stop wasting time and-" The shadow thief screamed when cords wrapped around his body before humming with electricity and shocking him. Dropping onto the ground like a sack of potatoes, the darkly dressed thief groaned, his round sunglasses falling off his face.

"You know, if you guys worked together half as well as you fought each other, you might actually accomplish something." The three remaining criminals looked up towards one of the high rise office buildings.

Clayface narrowed his eyes as he spotted four figures standing at the top, pointing his fingers at them, "Who the hell are you?"

Two of the figures shot grappling hooks down, riding the steel cord down to the street while one just floated down, the final member zipping away from the edge of the building and onto the street in a matter of seconds. One of the people, no, kids was wearing a yellow, red and black uniform. A yellow R was proudly sewn into the torso area, right above his heart. He let out a laugh that seemed to echo around the whole street, a mischievous smirk adorning his lips, "We're the heroes who are going to kick your butt."

"Is that...Zatanna?" Livewire eyed the girl dressed like a magician, both her eyebrows shooting up, "Isn't she like, in her mid twenties? Not a teenager?"

Copperhead hissed, his snake tongue lashing out, "Maybe she had a kid we didn't know about. Who cares? Just makes taking her out easier." With that, Copperhead launched himself at the magician, his mouth wide open and aiming to bite her and inject his venom.

"Pots dna ezeerf! Eb demusnoc yb eht htrae!" Zatanna thrust her hands at the snake, the criminal grunting when he stopped in midair before screaming when a giant hand made out of concrete reached up from the ground and grabbed him before yanking him down inside the earth.

Clayface, and even Livewire watched in horror as Copperhead screamed like a little girl before being swallowed by the ground, not to be heard again.

"I'll be honest, that's terrifying Z." Robin looked at the magician in question who shrugged her shoulders at the Boy Wonder, smirking.

"Two down. Two to go." Artemis drew an arrow, notching it on her compact bow, and aiming at Livewire in one fluid motion before releasing it. Livewire laughed, bringing both hands together and firing a bolt of lightning at the arrow. Jumping back in shock when the arrow's tip glowed white and just absorbed the electricity. Livewire screamed when it hit her, her powers going haywire and electricity pouring out of her and into the arrow.

The electric woman fell to her knees before collapsing onto her face, letting out a low groan. Clayface looked at Livewire, the four teens, then to the chaos all around, "What the hell are you!" Clayface extended his arm out, attempting to grab the green archer.

"Whoa there! Hands off my girl!" The yellow and red armored kid ran fast, as fast as Flash to Clayface's eyes. He stopped in front of the archer girl, his arms stretched out to the sides. The Flash kid then started to rapidly spin, creating a small tornado and ripping Clayface's arm into pieces before it could grab hold of the green archer.

Kid Flash stopped spinning, grinning as ran fast at Clayface, stopping just before touching the gooey blob and running left instead. The speedster ran circles around Clayface creating a wind vortex around the criminal, twisting and turning him around and cutting off his air. Clayface gasped, unable to breath nor move his limbs the way he wanted because of the gale force winds. Kid Flash stopped behind Clayface, his arms crossed and blowing a breath of air against the blob before Clayface fell into a pile of blob with a grunt. Robin pulled something out of his utility belt, a small capsule that he threw at Clayface.

It exploded inside the criminal's body, the flexible clay slowly solidifying like ice as Clayface turned to look at the Boy Wonder, "What did you...do to me..." Clayface had turned into a statue, one arm stretched out towards the young Bat, face frozen in shock.

"A counter agent to the chemicals in the Renuyu cream." Robin stepped up to the frozen Clayface, rapping his knuckles against the frozen villain's face before turning to give a thumbs up to Batman, who was glaring at the four young superheroes.

"What?"

"I told you to stay put."

"And I told you, you needed back up. Seems to me I was right."

"I had it handled."

"Handled? Shade was about to use his whole shadow thing on you and get away. How is that handled?"

"He wouldn't have had the chance. If you hadn't interfered I-"

"Enough!" Zatanna got between the two Bats, pushing her hands against their chests, "Time and place boys. This is not it. Authorities incoming, and we need to disappear." The magician gave her Boy Wonder a look, one that made him clamp his mouth shut when he made to argue. She then looked at Batman, who would not in a million years, admit he clamped his own mouth shut because she reminded him so much of his own Zatanna who would give him the same look when she was done with his crap.

"Z's right. Time to go." Kid Flash picked Artemis up in his arms bridal style before zipping away. Robin gave Batman one last look before pulling out his grappling hook and firing it off, propelling up and away while Zatanna shook her head.

The magician turned to leave but stopped, pointing her hand at the ground, "Nruter tahw saw dewollaws!" The ground then opened up and spat out Copperhead, who let out a whimper in his unconscious state.

Giving the older Bat one final look, Zatanna gave him a smile, "Ylf, ekat em emoh." Zatanna floated into the air before flying off. Batman stood there with his cape fully around his body, letting out a low grunt. He turned around to look at the unconscious or frozen forms of the villains, walking towards them as GPD pulled up to the bank.

J'onn stood at the main monitor room of the Watchtower, his orange eyes staring up at the computer screen. He did not turn as the doors behind him opened, Superman landing down behind the Martian, "I came as soon as I finished up. You said Batman could use some help?"

"It's been taken cared of."

"Already? That's fast, even for Bruce."

"He had some help."

"Diana? She did go with him after all."

"No. It was the kids."

"The kids? You mean our guests?"

"Yes. Four them provided support for Batman. They took down the villains quite efficiently and quickly."

Superman looked up at the main monitor, seeing GPD take Livewire, Copperhead, Shade, and a frozen Clayface into the back of a transport truck, "They did good work."

"Batman doesn't seem to agree."

"Did we really expect him to?"

Both older heroes smiled at each other before J'onn returned his gaze to the monitor, "I hear you offered them a membership to the League."

Superman crossed his arms, "I did."

"Any particular reason? The other heroes we invited, we invited together. After thoroughly discussing their character and past actions. We barely know anything about these...children. Is it wise to offer them a place among us? I am sure Batman would not approve."

"I see their potential. And their virtues. I think they would make fine members of the League."

"You did not really answer my question."

"I believe I did."

"Superman..."

The Man of Steel stayed silent for a minute or so, "They need help, J'onn. No place to go, no place to turn to in an unfamiliar world. I guess I kind of related in a strange way. I understand they are dangerous, and it's hard to trust them but... Their eyes. When I look them in the eyes I see something worth trusting. Something that makes me believe they have a place in this new Justice League we are trying to create. I think they will be good for us."

"Your intuitions are usually right. I can only think of a handful of times when your judgment has been...questionable." J'onn smiled warmly at his friend, who did not take any offense to the Martian's words, "I must say, I mostly feel the same way you do. Leaving aside my clear bias at seeing another Martian."

Superman reached out, squeezing his green friend's shoulder, "I'm really happy for you J'onn. Really. I can't imagine how it must have felt seeing M'gann. I mean, I was so happy when I found Kara, even if she is from a sister planet, she is the closest thing to another Kryptonian that I could find."

J'onn chuckled, "Maybe you found another." Both heroes thought about the dark haired teen, Superboy.

"Maybe in their dimension, Krypton survived."

"Maybe..." Superman doubted it. Something about Superboy seemed off, or familiar. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, "Anyways. I talked with Flash and Lantern, they don't seem to have a problem with having them in the League. I doubt Diana would be against it."

"That only leaves..."

"Batman, yeah."

"He will not be easy to convince."

"Hence why, I sent them to live with him. They'll break him down eventually."

"You underestimate Batman's stubbornness."

"And you J'onn, clearly don't know teenagers."

Clark, you evil genius. Who said Lex Luthor was the criminal mastermind of Metropolis?

"You know, I always wanted to visit London. See the sights, eat an apple crumble, ride a double decker bus, things like that." Zatanna dodged a swipe at her head, performing a perfect roundhouse kick to her attacker's stomach and sending them flying back.

"Really? Well here's your chance!" Robin used a series of back flips to create some distance from his attackers, throwing three explosive discs and blowing up some cars, sending creatures left and right with a groan.

"You going to show me around? Show me a good time?" Zatanna smirked at the Boy Wonder, pointing her fingers at a group of creatures reaching their hands out towards her, "Tes ezalba dna nrut ot sehsa!" The creatures caught fire, screaming and dropping to the ground, instinctively trying to roll around and put it out.

The Boy Wonder's signature laugh filled the air as he jumped onto one of the creature's shoulders, using it as a launch pad and knocking it down as he flew into the air before drop kicking another creature, "Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way. Only the best for you!"

"You're too sweet."

"Any time."

"Can you both get a room!" Kid Flash zipped this way and that, weaving through a large group of the creatures and knocking them down, "We so don't need to be feeling the aster between you two!"

"You're one to talk KF, you and Artemis shamelessly flirt every moment you are in eyesight of each other! Even when you fight you act more like you want to tear each others' clothes off!"

"We do not!" Artemis shrieked at the Boy Wonder, notching two arrows at the same time and releasing them, the explosive tips sending the creatures flying all over the place.

"You do so." Superboy picked up a bus, swinging it like a bat and swatting another large group of creatures away, "Even I've noticed."

"I think it's sweet!" M'gann flew around, tossing creatures away with her psionic abilities, "You can really feel how much they love each other through their arguments! It's just like Harris and Julie's relationship on-"

"Thank you, M'gann!" Artemis cut off her green best friend before she could go on a rant about her old TV soap, "But is now really a good time to be having this conversation? Shouldn't be we more worried about the zombies attacking us!"

As if to prove her point, two zombies snarled, trying to take a bite out of the green archer's shoulder. She ducked, sweeping the zombies' legs from under them and using her bow like a bat, she slammed the metal bow into the sides of their heads.

"Artemis has a point. These creatures, while not fast, are relentless." Aqualad brought up his Hyrdokinesis, forming large water maces and decapitating three zombies in one swing, "And it seems like the noise we are making, is attracting more and more of them" Aqualad looked around as zombie after zombie poured out of alleyways, crawled out of buildings, and even slipped out of the sewer grates and manholes, "We cannot keep this up forever."

"I don't think we have to. Car incoming!" The whole Team heard Miss Martian shout from up above. And true to her words, a red SUV was driving at high speeds from down the road. It honked loud, Kid Flash screaming as he jumped to the side. The car rammed into zombie after zombie in a brutal display, showing no concern for the formerly alive human beings.

The fire red car stopped in the middle of the street, the drive side door opening. By the brazen way the car was driven, and the merciless way it took out so many zombies, the Team expected a grizzled man but were taken by surprise when a pretty, short girl was revealed instead. She had flowing red hair, silky smooth and pale creamy skin. She had perfect make up on, a stylish outfit comprised of black shorts, a yellow blouse and a black jacket over her shoulders. She had on heels, her toenails painted pink, matching her fingernails. She looked like a model teenage girl that belonged on some high school TV drama, except she was hefting a giant woodcutter axe on her shoulder. She even had on a bright smile, her hips swaying to one side as she placed her free hand on her hip, "Hi."

The whole team was speechless, as were the zombies surprisingly. Kid Flash was the first to recover, offering the girl an awkward wave, "Uh...hi."

The passenger side door opened, a figure dropping out of the side and seeming to throw up on the road, "Arrex... Urg duuv lik a psssycho."

The whole Team tensed when the man, zombie, stood up, half his face kind of missing and his right hand missing all of its skin but somehow, still moving perfectly as a skeleton.

"It's the zombie apocalypse, N. What do you want me to do, obey the traffic laws? There isn't even any traffic around." The pretty girl was staring at her nails, looking at them this way and that. When a zombie came up behind her, Kid Flash made to move but was shocked when the girl, without even looking, swiped the giant axe with one hand, decapitating the zombie in one might swing.

"Holy..." Robin looked at the girl with wide eyes under his domino mask, "Are you a Metahuman?"

"Metahuman?" The girl looked at Robin with a quirked eyebrow, "What's a Meta..." She stopped, looking closely at the people around her. When she saw Miss Martian floating in the air, she brought her free hand up to her eyes, rubbing them, blinking a few dozen times, looking, then rubbing them again.

"N, do you see what I'm seeing..."

N was already over by Robin, sparkles in his eyes as he looked the Boy Wonder over. He had produced a drawing board from out of nowhere, which Robin identified having some Disney movie character in the back of his head. The zombie boy, man, pushed the drawing board to his face, a bunch of writing on it, "You're dressed up as Sparrow! Owlman's sidekick!" He then quickly erased, then rewrote on the board in a flash, turning to point it at Kid Flash, "And you're dressed up as Speedy! The Streak's sidekick!" He then quickly turned to point his board at Miss Martian, "Oh oh! And you're Martia! The visitor from another world!"

"N!" The zombie boy turned towards his girlfriend, who was glaring at him, "Stop being such a nerd and look at them!"

The zombie, N, gave her a confused look before turning around. His brain had already told him something was wrong, but it took a while for his conscious mind to catch up. The green girl dressed up as Martia, was floating. Hovering really, in the air far above the street. Wires? He couldn't see anything, no rigs to hold her up.

N's mouth fell wide open, nearly dropping his drawing board as he pointed up at the girl, "Hur yu fulying?"

M'gann looked left and right before pointing at herself, "Excuse me?"

"How are you flying." The redheaded girl stepped besides her dork boyfriend, looking suspiciously at the other heroes, "And why are you dressed like comic book characters?"

"Uh.." Robin looked at Kid Flash,, who looked at Aqualad.

"More zombies, incoming!" Superboy slammed down onto the concrete besides Zatanna, pointing his finger behind him, "We need to move." The half-Kryptonian paused when he saw the redhead and zombie standing next to each other. When he moved to punch the zombie, Robin held his hands up.

"Superboy, don't!"

Conner barely stopped, tripping over his feet and stumbling but jumping back immediately after, "What? Why? It's a monster, er, zombie!"

At the word 'monster', N winced, and the redhead's eyes narrowed dangerously. She took steps forward, getting right into the half-Kryptonian's face, "Who're you calling monster? That's my boyfriend you know."

Conner leaned back, eyes wide as almost everyone around them yelled.

"What?"

"Boyfriend?"

"Seriously?"

N held his drawing board up, a sheepish looking face drawn on there as it read, "I am the zombie boyfriend, N. Nice to meet you." N then moved forward, draping his skeleton arm around the redhead's shoulder, holding his drawing board up again, "My name's N. This is my girlfriend, Alexander the Great."

The redhead, Alex, slapped the drawing board down, "I'm Alex. I would say it's nice to meet you but..." The whole Team looked around, making a circle around N and Alex as a zombie swarm with black veins surrounded them, groaning and moaning as they shuffled closer, "I don't think we have time for pleasantries."
