December 3, 3rd gift:

Before going down to kiss her parents and leaving for college, Marinette grabbed an envelope from her desk: A pale pink envelope with the number 3 written on it in one corner and sealed with a small ladybug sticker.

She opened it delicately and pulled out a letter that was folded in three and which she carefully unfolded. The handwriting on the paper was handwritten and neat, but also strangely familiar. She had already noticed the previous two days that his partner had a delicate and rather beautiful writing, but she had not been caught more by the familiarity of the calligraphy of the latter. She had certainly seen something he had written before and she probably did not remember.

She was quite surprised to find that Chat Noir had also carefully chosen his paper; using a paper with a thick grain and a slightly ivory tint as a medium, he had applied himself to writing with a pen with a black ink.

Marinette sat comfortably on her desk chair with Tikki on her shoulder and began to read what the feline hero had written.

"Ladybug, my Lady, my Bugaboo,

Since you stumbled upon me (and you and I both know it's not just a way of speaking), you've become increasingly important in my life and in my heart.

I remember as if it were yesterday, our first encounter and the thread of your yo-yo wrapped around us, before that same yo-yo fell on my head. You said you were clumsy... a clumsiness that I found painfully adorable.

Moments later, we fought our first battle against Stone Heart. I remember the yarn of your yo-yo suddenly tying my two ankles together. I was confused and you just said "trust me" as you swung me straight into the arms of our enemy.

You had a plan, as always since then.

You were amazing, awesome, impressive!

Soon after, when we had to deal with the situation again with the army of stone monsters, I discovered that in reality the incredible girl you were (and still are) doubting herself. And at my turn I told you to trust me. And you did.

You were so beautiful and so brave, I watched you in the distance stand up to Hawkmoth and move forward with determination, ignoring your fears and doubt towards the Eiffel Tower. Then you crowded to capture and purify the akumas flying around you; promising Parisians that we would always be there to protect them.

it was Meow-some!

These memories of you at that moment, of your courage, of your sincerity and your determination, will forever remain etched in my memory.

You didn't know that day, but I promised myself that no matter who the girl was behind that mask, I'd love her. I would love her courage and clumsiness, her strengths and weaknesses, her brilliant ideas or her failures.

And this is how, from that day on, you gradually settled into my heart; It takes up more and more space over time. What makes you such a person I admire so much: your smiles, your bewitching gaze, your courage, your determination, each of your brilliant ideas, your strengths but also your fears, your doubts and your weaknesses, you have gradually made my heart beat stronger. I understood then that I really loved you, every day a little more than the day before but always less than tomorrow.

I wanted to put these words on a page so you would know how I really feel about you. I needed it. I have already tried to express my love to you orally, but I have understood that the words fly away while the writings remain. Maybe that's why you didn't take me seriously? I hope that these few words which express the depth of my love for you will engrave in your heart as I would like to engrave them on a stone for eternity.

I don't ask you anything in exchange for this letter, I don't even ask you to answer it: I know your heart already belongs to someone else. I just wanted to tell you that despite your multiple rejections, my heart always instinctively brings me back to you. I tried to fight. But to no avail.

Can we resist the attraction of a magnet?

Your partner in love since the first day, Chat Noir. "

Marinette wiped away tears from the edge of her eyes, which threatened to roll down her cheeks.

She knew that his partner felt something for her, but to discover, textually, that he was in love was upsetting.

It was difficult for her to realize that, besides, he had fallen in love with her from the very first day, when she had been clumsy and that the uncertainties and the fear had almost got her right that day. And yet seeing her weaknesses before her strengths, he had still fallen in love.

A little voice out of Marinette's state of mind.

"You are going to be late, Marinette," exclaimed Tikki very calmly, so as not to rush the girl.

Marinette responded silently by opening her bag; inviting his Kwami to slip into it quickly in order to leave the house without further delay.

To be continued...
