Space. A seemingly endless void of never-ending silence.
A long, pointed claw-like foot slammed down, narrowly missing the dashing figure. With a quick toss, the being lobbed a strange device, which exploded with blinding light, causing the giant to roar in pain as spots danced across his eyes. Another being fired an energy blast, hitting and shattering one of the crystal clusters on its back.
The sheer volume of space and lack of air has had scientists asking one question.
A blue orb blazes towards a familiar blue and green planet. It was followed by two small white streaks.
Is there life out there?
Camden Town, London…
The streets of the city were bustling as usual, but it soon would be filled with terror. Amiss the crowds, two specific people were exiting the crowds. A 13-year-old boy, and his 12-year-old sister. The two entered a building, the apartment where they lived. The smell of smoke filled their noses, and Jack Smith sent a death glare at the smoking man slouched in front of the TV.
"Bout time you got back," he grumbled.
"Nice to see you too, Nedrey," Jack shot back as he and his sister, not hearing the news about an object headed for the planet.
These two kids are parentless. Their parents aren't dead, at least as far as they were aware, they are just…. Missing. Desperate for a roof over their heads, Jack managed to convince Dennise Nedrey to give them a room in his apartment. Despite being a slob and a heavy smoker, he wasn't heartless enough to leave two children in the streets, but having no experience meant he often left them to their own devices.
Hope sat down heavily, sighing sadly. Jack sat down beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder comfortably.
"Don't worry, we'll find them," he told her.
"How can you be so sure," she asked.
"To be honest, I'm not. You just gotta have Hope, like your name," he explained. Hope looked at him and smiled a bit, but then their attention was drawn to the city as alarms filled the air. A wailing sound replaced the alarms as a blue orb hit the ground just in the next street. For a while there was just dust, then something reared its head.
A loud wail escaped the giant thundering forward on two three-clawed feet. Its back and head were covered in spines and strange light blue crystals. On its chest were two more crystal clusters, and its dumb frog face took in its surroundings before opening its jaws and unloading a blazing light blue beam. The beam struck a building and reduced it to rubble. The city descended into chaos. As Jack and Hope ran out of their apartment, they saw Dennis was gone. Typical Nedrey. Hearing the kaiju wail again, he grabbed his sister's arm.
"Come on, let's get out of here," he said. Hope nodded and the two raced down the street. Tanks rumbled into position and unloaded a volley of shells. Explosions blanketed the front of the beast, but did little but turn its attention to the vehicles. Before it could do anything, a sonic boom hit their ears, followed up by a voice only the kaiju recognized.
"Bow-Wakka-WOW!"
All of a sudden, a blur shot by and slashed one of the crystals on the beast's back, shattering it. In midair, the shards dissipated and points replaced them. The figure landed in front of the line of tanks, and several soldiers pointed their guns at it, only to start when the being stood up. They resembled a dalmatian, albeit one that was anthropomorphic and covered in armor and holding a sword the length of a school bus+a car. The dalmatian casually rested the weapon on its shoulder before addressing the soldiers.
"Hey, thanks for holding off Plasma Bemular, we'll take it from here," the dalmatian said in a clear female voice.
"Who are you miss?" the general asked.
"Names Dolly Dalmatian," she said with a respectful salute. An explosion drew their attention to Plasma Bemular, who staggered forward as another Dalmatian landed, this one holding what could only be a grenade. The Dalmatian looked at the general
"Were there any casualties," he asked.
"Fortunately no one was killed...yet," was the response. The Dalmatian nodded at this.
"Right, you need to help the citizens escape. We'll take care of Plasma Bemular," he said in a rather professional voice for a teen. And with that, the two activated their jetpack and raced towards the kaiju. Dolly dropped her sword and dragged it across the asphalt as she approached the Plasma Kaiju. When she reached it, she shot up, slashing the kaiju in an uppercut like fashion, causing the monster to stagger back.
"Do it now Dylan," Dolly shouted to her brother. Dylan tossed a barraged of strange devices at Plasma Bemular's face. They exploded into blinding bursts of light, one after the other. Plasma Bemular wailed in utter agony as his pupils caught fire. Blindly he snapped at the air, trying to harm his foes. Dylan barely managed to dodge, then gasped in alarm when Plasma Bemular swung his head, walloping Dolly and sending her flying back. Dolly hit the ground hard enough to crater the ground before bouncing off and hitting an abandoned car, trashing it, then plowing through a trailer, and then tore a truck in two before she sank her sword into the ground, grinding to a stop. Be it by sheer luck or by fate, she happened to stop by the alleyway that Jack and Hope were hiding in. Hope yelped in terror while Jack threw his arm over her chest protectively. Dolly's red eyes widened in shock at what she saw. Pressing two fingers to her comlink, she contacted HQ
"You guys seeing this?" she said.
"Yes, I have already sent another team already," came the response. Sure enough, a trio of aliens arrived. An Alien Magma by the name of Magna, an Alien Guts by the name of Garm, and an Alien Baltan by the name of Barel. Magna quickly scooped the kids and leaped up onto a building's roof. His allies soon followed.
"Hey kids, you know where your parents are?" he asked, searching with his scanner.
"We don't know," came the simple response. Magna lifted his head up and looked at the children in confusion. Dylan and Dolly, who had incredibly sensitive hearing, paused what they were doing, which was Dolly trying to stop Plasma Bemular's jaws from crushing her and Dylan priming a Thunder Disk, a metal disk-shaped like Dolly's head. (guess who chose the design?)
"Dyl, did ya hear that?" she asked, shifting her grip on the Plasma Kaiju's teeth. Dylan nodded, rocketing forward and slapping the Thunder Disk to Plasma Bemular's chest, the ears and snout anchoring it to his grey scaly hide. Using her tail, Dolly dislodged a bomb and smacked it down the Plasma Kaiju's gullet, then blasted away. The bomb exploded, making Plasma Bemular gag as smoke billowed from his jaws, only for the Thunder Disk to live up to its name, making the beast howl in pain as the electricity forced his muscles to seize up. He slowly toppled to the side, shattering some of the crystals on his back, racking up more points.
Barrel placed a claw on Jack's shoulder as he knelt down, his yellow compound eyes taking note of Hope's fearful expression.
"What do you mean, you don't know where your parents are," the Space Ninja asked.
As Jack explained, his story was heard by more than just the aliens present. Hovering ¾ the distance from Mars, but still visible from the sky(think of when that Imperial officer saw the Death Star right before he got snipped by it in Rogue One) was the HQ of the Rush Hunters. In the main room, many a Sheijin were muttering to themselves and each other in shock. Children who had no idea where their parents were? That was unheard of!
"Haooooowwwww is that possible?" a werewolf wearing a blue shirt with a large bow howled in alarm.
"Poor things," a Siamese Cat said. Beside her, an orange weasel with lime green overalls rubbed his furry chin.
"Maybe their parents aren't on this planet," he said with a rather high-pitched voice. Another Dalmatian looked at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Willy, think about what you just said. How does that make any sense?" he asked. Willy gave him an annoyed look.
"Well I'm just throwing out ideas Dawkins, do you have any better ones?" he retorted. Dawkins was about to reply, only for a beeping to sound from the tablet he was holding. Dawkins's orange eyes widened in shock.
"There's another Plasma Crystal headed toward the planet," he said with horror.
Garm cast his blue gaze to the skies as a yellow crystal neared their location. He raised his sniper rifle and took aim, but was unable to shoot it before it hit the street and sank under the asphalt. Soon cracks started appearing in the road, and Garm turned to his team members.
"Magna, you get the children out of here, we'll hold off the Plasma Kaiju," Garm instructed. After he said this, the ground erupted, revealing another kaiju, albeit a much smaller one. It stood on two legs, a powerful tail swinging behind him. He had bushy eyebrows and two long fangs. Like Plasma Bemular, this kaiju was covered with crystals. They were on his elbows, the end on his tail, and on the top of his head, as well as on his back in three-pronged plates flanking maple leaf-shaped plates. The Plasma Monster bellowed as it thundered down the street. Magna grabbed Jack and Hope before leaping to another building.
"Good thing this is only a normal Gomess," he mused.
"W-what do you mean?" he heard the little girl, Hope he recalled, spoke up.
"Well, Gomess are normally very small. For a giant Gomess, we add an extra S in parentheses." the Alien Magma explained.
Back at the fight with Plasma Gomess, Garm raised his sniper rifle to one blue eye as an energy crosshair manifested in front of said eye
"Hawkeye Shoot!" he shouted. A light blue beam shot from the rifle and shattered the crystal on the mammal's head, gaining points and revealing a curving horn. Hovering behind Plasma Gomess, Barel threw a shuriken. The metal star shattered two of the outer crystals on the kaiju's right.
Back with the fight with Plasma Bemular, Dolly quickly spun her sword to deflect a Pale Heat Ray, then rocketed forward as Dylan peppered the alien's back with a missile launcher. With two quick swings, she shattered the crystals coving his pathetic excuses for arms. She then flew out of the way of a claw swipe and landed on a building's roof. She pulled out a strange device that quickly unfolded to form a rocket launcher. The end of it glowed with blue light before unleashing a blast of light blue energy that destroyed a group of crystals. The Plasma Monster snarled as he turned to face her, his jaws glowing with a blue light. Before Dolly could react, he fired his Pale Heat Ray, which destroyed the building and nailing the Anthropomorphic Dalmatian. To his bewilderment, Dylan didn't cry out in horror and grief. He soon found out why when Dolly blasted out of the fireball and shot upwards. As Plasma Bemular craned his head up to follow her, Dylan flew around the alien and dropped disks that enlarged, resembling mines. Dolly stopped climbing and dropped, raising her sword. Plasma Bemular squinted as he tried to figure out what Dolly was doing. When he saw her sword raised, his eyes widened in shock. But it was too late for him, as Dolly cleaved through Plasma Bemular's underbelly jaw first right as the Bouncing Betties were activated by Dylan. Explosions rocked the kaiju as the explosives lived up to their names before the entire kaiju exploded in a gigantic fireball.
Back with Plasma Gomess, Garm sniped the crystals on the mammal's elbows and tail. The Plasma Kaiju bellowed and tried to crush the Alien Guts with a massive fist, but Garm ran out of the way. As the Plasma Gomess straitened back up, Barrel duplicated himself with the trademark laughing cry that was his native language. As one, they all threw shurikens, shattering them. Gomess blinked, then looked about, realizing what he had done. He let out a sad grumble and hung his head.
With the battle over, the matter of the kids arose again, the ship filled with voices, when one cut them off.
"The children will stay with us, so we can care for them until we find their parents," an Alien Mefilas said as he set his glass down.
Another Dalmatian, this one pure black with white and purple spots, looked at their leader with alarm.
"What?!" he said, fear and alarm clear in his voice.
"Relax Dante, you know as well as I do that those children need protection," he said as he stood up and headed for the teleportation chamber. Dawkins rolled his eyes before turning to his tablet.
Back on Earth, Dolly and Dylan received the message. The former went over to the kids, who were talking with Garm, Magna, and Barel.
"Good news you two. Our leader Djent said you can hang with us until we find your parents," she told them
"R-really?" Hope spoke up, both happy the aliens would help them, but her usual shyness was still poking through.
"Ya, our friend Willy the Weasel has a wacky idea that your parents are somewhere in space.," Dylan explained, scratching his head.
"I know, it sounds crazy, but…" Dylan was cut off by Jack.
"As crazy as that is, I can't think of anything else," he said.
Garm clasped Jack's shoulder reassuringly.
"Don't worry lad, we'll find them," the Alien Guts said.
"Now brace yourself, we are about to teleport," Barel spoke up. A few seconds later, both Jack and Hope found themselves in the Teleportation Chamber of the Rush Station, their heads spinning somewhat.
"Ohhhh, I'm so glad I didn't eat," Jack moaned and staggered in place.
"Apologies about then discomfort, this is the first time Scotty has teleported humans," a new voice said, belonging to the calm leader of the guild.
"Its o-ok," Hope shyly said.
"Hey Djent, were are ya headed?" Dolly asked her leader.
"I'm goning to talk with the officials, I will return shortly," he said, then teleported away on his own.
Djent soon found himself in the damaged streets of Camden Town, his blue eyes spotting aliens and humans working togetherto fix the damage made by the fighting. Even the Gomess was leading a hand in the clean up. He spotted two officers, and started towards them.
"Officers, I have a few questions for you…"
