Jason Lee Scott
Chosen to be the Red Ranger and leader of the team due to his natural leadership qualities. While he is stoic and confident, he also has an emotional side and cares deeply about his friends
Zack Taylor
Chosen to be the Black Ranger. He is Jason's best friend and is very easy going and happy go lucky. He is an accomplished dancer and teaches a unique blend of martial arts and break dancing which he calls Hip Hop Kido
Billy Cranston
Chosen to be the Blue Ranger. He is highly intelligent, excelling academically with a particular interest in science. Despite his intellect he is not particularly confident
Trini Kwan
Chosen to be the Yellow Ranger. Very much the quiet member of the group but also the only one who understands Billy's technical speak. Studies Kung Fu
Kimberly Hart
Chosen to be the Pink Ranger. Trini's best friend who loves shopping. She is a highly skilled gymnast, something she hopes to pursue professionally
Ernie
The owner of Angel Grove Youth Centre Gym and Juice Bar, the local hangout for teens. Always on hand to offer advice
Bulk and Skull
Two teens who attend Angel Grove High School. They regularly try to muscle in on activities but their general ineptness leads to them making fools of themselves
Zordon
An intergalactic wizard from the planet Eltar. After battling the forces of evil for thousands of years, he now only survives inside an energy tube
Alpha 5
Zordon's robot assistant who was originally built on the planet Edenoi. On Zordon's instructions, he recruits the Power Rangers
Rita Repulsa
An evil sorceress who battled Zordon thousands of years ago, but was eventually defeated and imprisoned in a space dumpster. After being freed, she vows to destroy Earth in an act of revenge
Goldar
A gorilla-like knight who is Rita's chief henchman and a fearsome warrior. Regularly sent to Earth by Rita to do battle with the Rangers
Finster
A dog-like creature who uses clay and a machine to create the monsters Rita sends out to battle the Rangers
Squatt and Baboo
Rita's bumbling henchmen who she occasionally sends to Earth to steal items which she needs in order to create monsters
Notes
In this version, there are only 40 parts rather than 60 so some filler episodes will be cut
Bulk and Skull are not bullies, merely the good natured bumblers they become from Season 2
Although I have not included a bio for Tommy, he does of course appear later on, although due to the lower number of parts, Green With Evil is cut from 5 parts to 4
