The not so Perfect Heist

Blaze found herself running for her life across rooftops. Gun shots, screams, and footsteps of her pursuers echoed behind and below her. How did it come to this? Her legs were killing her, she was running low on stamina and her powers had stop working a long time ago. She hated herself for using them earlier when they weren't needed and now she didn't have the energy to even create a spark. A bullet whizzed past her almost hitting her arm, but she was just lucky the shooter had bad aim. Was she really this out of practice that she'd be caught and chased this easily. Just two hours everything was going fine.

"Here look at this" Don said, handing Blaze yesterdays newspaper.

It was open to the Entertainment section and there was an article about a new exhibit at the National Treasures Museum. It turned out that months back a young archeologist had found what he thought was long lost amulet of Julieans. Julieans was a queen of Egypt who was well known for her finding colors that described her people and put a beautiful pendant in with all the belonging they would take to the afterlife. When she passed on a purple gem was placed in her crypt that wad later defined as an amethyst stone. Later on anthologists found that Julieans was born in February and they found many other bones of her loved ones and found their birth dates. Almost every skeleton had a stone placed in their hands of different color. This soon helped along the idea of birthstones. Now Julieans's gem was engraved into a golden necklace and placed on her when she died. But some time later her tomb was raided by bandits seeking wealth and the necklace was lost when they were shot down in the desert. The archeologist had to do a bunch of test and research to make sure that it was real gold and true amethyst jewel. It took some time but eventually he found it to genuine and they put it on display just a couple days ago, but with quite the security cause it was worth over a million dollars.

"Don't you think that's a little to much of a challenge this soon?" Mari asked.

"Well that may be true, I'm sure you can handle it. Plus its possible that the necklace is actually a belonging of the Wesker family. Your father "lost" many things on his spirit walks to get away from Scarface."

A smile ran across Mari's face, then she rushed upstairs to slip on her costume. A little while later Blaze sat up top the high class apartment buildings that stood next to the museum. She watched the guards do their rounds and checked out the security system blueprints one last time before telporting over. She landed on the ground in the back where the circuit box was and began scanning over the wires. A second before she clipped the wire she remembered that she had forgotten to look at which wire went to what. Turning off the wrong thing or the whole system would defiantly cause more chaos and she didn't want to risk it. So she just slipped up to 3rd floor and found the room the necklace was in. A glass case stood in the middle of a red carpet all by it's self, you couldn't see the lazes but it was quite obvious that they had put some all around the case and most likely a senors on the bottom of the case that would go off when the artifact was removed. Blaze placed her hand on the wall sending a shock through the wiring making the lazes visible. Her eyes darted around the holes trying to make a passage then she began to flip and slip through them. She took a couple ones slow as she noticed herself getting some near misses, but she landed perfectly in front of the case unscathed. Then this is where she started to get lazy, instead of replacing the artifact with some comical item like usual real fast, she just slid both her hands on the sides and shock the system disabling the senors. Then she grabbed the artifact and decided to just telport out of the building instead of going back through the lazes. Now granted this saved her some time but it ended her up in quite some trouble. It turned out she wasn't the only one who had heard about the new exhibit. A gang of two-face's men stood in front when she appeared outside the front doors.

"Well who do we have here" One of them grinned, raising his gun.

"Hello boys, out for a nice walk?" She coed.

They saw her slip the necklace in the small bag attached to her hip.

"Boss she has the jewels!" A lackey spoke up.

"What! Get her!"

They jumped her but Blaze dodged them easily. They did a little hand to hand but it was child's play to Blaze. She yawned, getting cocky as she blocked a guys fists with one hand. She wasn't even bothering to fight back, just dodging left and right.

"Why you little Bitch!" One of them shouted as she jumped out his way making him fall on his face.

Another ran at her, and she was so close to the edge that when she avoided him he fell off the roof. That got them all very angry and bullets starting coming her way. At first it was simple but then she had to start to use her powers to deflect and escape them. When the opportunity presented itself she would pop behind a couple of them electrocuting them or knocking them out with their own guns. This went on for a while and Blaze was starting to get tired. She bent over after using a lot of her powers to kill off one of the guys, they took that chance to surround her then. Blaze lifted her head out breath and took a good look around, she shot a lighting bolt towards a guy but it barley fazed him.

"We got you now!" One of them said watching her sweat.

They started to close in but Blaze wasn't gonna lose, "That's what you think" She breathed out heavily then disappeared.

Unfortunately she only was able to telport out of the circle, and they spotted her easily.

"There she is, get her!"

Blaze tired to telport again but it was no use, she was to exhausted to muster the energy to use her powers so she ran off with Two-faces men at her tail. They fired their guns as they chased her along the roof tops, she slipped but regained her footing, then jumped over a gap in between a buildings. She got a little farther ahead then, some of them to scared to follow, but then as she continued to run she finally saw some of them jump. She picked up her speed, as her breathing started to grow heavy.

"What you running from babe?" She heard.

That voice it sounded so familiar, but it couldn't be him, he was dead. She turned to find the Red Hood leaning against and air vent playing with one of his guns.

"Them" Blaze said jerking her head back to the goons closing in on her again.

"So just poof away" he joked.

Blaze took a deep breath, "I can't, I over-exerted myself and now I can't use them" she admitted.

"Well shit!" Red hood said, pushing himself up.

"I can't do this now, I gotta go."

Blaze turned to continue to run off but she got blocked off, a couple lackey's had got ahead of her and now stood in front of her. She turned around only to find the rest of them showing up them. They started to walk closer again, pushing Blaze back, Hood was pushed along with until their backs touched.

"How about I help you, we can take them. Well I could take them on my own.." Jason suggested

"Don't be so cocky it got me in trouble, besides what would you get out of helping me?" Blaze asked.

"The sheer fun of kicking ass and killing idiots" he grinned.

Blaze smirked, "That does sound like fun."

"No more talking! Your going down to if you help her. Get them!"

"Look at that, I don't think they knew who I am."

Jason pulled two machine guns out, handing Blaze one, and replacing his empty hand with his favorite pistol.

"Here, try to have some fun before you pass out."

Then the fight started. Hood took down his own pretty easy, though a couple of them he did have to dodge and do some hand to hand when his guns were knocked out of his hands. He snapped a guys neck and looked over at Blaze. She had taken down a few men, but was still having trouble and looking more exhausted.

"Put your arms in mine" he said rushing over to her.

"What?!" She turned, looking at him confused.

"Just do it, I'll lift you up and you will kick all of them out easily."

Blaze nodded her head and linked her arms with his. He lifted her with ease, and they fit so perfect together. Blaze swung her legs out kicking down the remaining men almost effortlessly.

"Have you down that before?" She asked the hood, once he let her down.

He nodded his head, ~Ya with you~ he thought, remembering when she found him in kind the same situation she was just in back when he was still Robin.

"You wanna tell me why those guys were after you?"

"Seems we were after the same thing" she said holding up her knapsack.

She bent over then, trying catch her breath again.

"We made... quite...the team" She said in between breathing.

"Ya."

He walked over to as her body started to sway then she slipped and lost consciousness. Her body started to fall, but he caught her before she hit the ground.

"You idiot" Jason said, shaking his head and lifting her up in his arms, "Now what am I gonna do with you."
