A/N: The chapters will vary in length somewhat, so don't freak out if it's not 3k all the way. And every chapter will be during another month just so that I can get this out and done.

Also, sorry for the reupload. I accidentally submitted a future chapter instead of this one. Have a cute BoruSara moment as an apology!

I hope you enjoy!

Sarada wrinkled her nose as she walked into the training grounds. "Ugh, what's that awful smell?"

"Smell?" Boruto frowned and raised an arm to sniff his pits. "... It's not me. Mitsuki?"

"My parent created me not to emit offensive odors from my body," the boy supplied with a smile. "And Sarada-chan smells like flowers. So it must be you, Boruto-kun."

"Eh? Me?" The boy exclaimed, shaking his head. "I dunno what you're talking about! I take care of my hygiene, y'know!"

Sarada frowned and stepped closer to him. Boruto blinked and stepped back, thinking she was about to hit him. She took another step closer and reached out, grabbing the collar of his shirt.

Boruto clenched his eyes shut and braced himself for pain, but opened his eyes and stared at her in confusion when she stopped short of his cheek, taking a deep whiff.

"What… the hell are you doing, 'ttebasa?" He asked slowly.

Sarada wrinkled her nose again and clamped a hand over her mouth, her face turning a pale shade of green. "Ew!" She exclaimed, jumping away. "What on earth did you eat?! That's disgusting!"

"What? I only had a burger!" He protested as she darted to a bush.

As she puked into the bush, Mitsuki's eyes widened in recognition. "Ah, didn't you have a spicy burger today for lunch?"

"Well yeah," the blond replied, turning to warily look in his teammate's direction. "Wait, don't tell me you could smell it off me just from me eating it like half an hour ago!"

Sarada gave a gurgle of pain in response, and Mitsuki trotted over to pat her on the back sympathetically.

Konohamaru appeared a moment later, hand raised in greeting and a smile on his face. "Hey, you're all…" he trailed off when he noticed two of the three teenagers huddled by a bush. "... uh…"

"Sarada-chan got sick because of Boruto-kun's gross burger," Mitsuki helpfully said with an innocent smile.

"It's not gross, it's amazing!" The blond protested. "Not my fault that she suddenly got superhuman sense of smell overnight!"

"Maybe eat a breath mint next time?" Mitsuki continued to pat her on the back as she retched. "There there."

Konohamaru blinked, unable to properly respond. "... Ah. I see."

"Say, what on earth was that today?" Boruto questioned as he walked her back after training.

"I... don't really know," she admitted, wrapping her arms around her stomach. "I just got really sick all of a sudden, and it wouldn't go away. I thought it was just triggered by smelling the spice, but even when we were at different areas and I couldn't smell it anymore, it kept coming back."

"That's weird," he commented, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Is it because of... y'know..."

"It must be," Sarada decided with a firm nod. "Mama told me that I'd start getting morning sickness now, but... I kinda thought morning sickness was supposed to happen in, y'know, morning."

"Mom always used to get sick at night." Boruto shrugged. "I guess that's just a name for it."

"Mama always gets sick early, so I kind of thought..." she trailed off with a short sigh. "Well, I guess I'll have to be more careful at training from now on."

"Yeah."

The silence between them grew awkward for a moment, before he reached out and grabbed her hand.

Startled, she looked up at him with a blush.

Boruto was looking away, though his red face gave him away. "I... just felt like holding your hand, y'know," he muttered.

She searched his face for a moment before covering her mouth with her hand and giggling, grabbing his attention. The blush grew hotter as she laughed, and when she looked up at him again with such a soft look on her face, he couldn't find it to look away.

"What we did," she started quietly, her own eyes darting away for a moment bashfully, "that wasn't just a one-time thing... right?"

"I wouldn't have done it if I didn't like you," he reasoned. "Besides, Auntie Sakura would probably crush my balls if you got hurt."

"You'd have Papa to worry about before her, I think," she giggled weakly again, giving a sigh. "But I'm glad. A- about things staying the same. Y'know?"

"Yeah," his voice was soft as he looked over again. "Yeah, I'm glad too."

The walk to her house ended all too soon, and both of them were standing awkwardly at the start of the walkway for a moment before she turned to him, their hands separating.

"Thanks for walking me back," she said, clasping her hands together. "It was nice."

"Uh, n- no problem," Boruto folded his arms together behind his head with a chuckle, trying to be nonchalant. "It's what good bo- uh, friends do, right? That's what Mom's always saying, anyway." He fumbled a bit over the words, but judging by the surprise on her face, she wasn't expecting him to say it.

A smile crept over her face and she adjusted her glasses with one hand. "Boyfriend, huh? Are you sure you've got what it takes to live up to that role, Uzumaki Boruto?"

His chest puffed up and he leaned over with a smirk. "Why, you saying I can't do it?"

"I'm just saying I have high standards," she said nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders with a grin in return. "The question is if you're able to handle it."

"I'd be the best boyfriend, y'know," he proudly declared. "Just watch! Nobody could be a better boyfriend than the disciple of the one and only Uchiha Sasuke!"

Sarada laughed. "I'll be the judge of that. May the odds be in your favor."

"Believe it," he said, leaning in so that they were nose-to-nose.

They stared into each other's eyes for a moment before breaking away, Sarada clearing her throat awkwardly.

"Well, uh, we're here," she said, raising her arms with a laugh. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah," he nodded, the flush in his cheeks returning somewhat as he gave her a tentative smile. "See you."

She watched as he turned and hopped away, giving only a short wave to see him off as she turned and trudged towards her house in exhaustion.

"Wada!" Kaede cheered as he toddled towards her, arms raised. "Up!"

"I'm home," she announced as she picked up her baby brother, the toddler's squeals of excitement making her smile.

"Welcome home," Sasuke greeted as he looked up from the paper. "Your mother went out for some last-minute shopping."

"Ah, I see." She nodded and sat down on the couch next to him. The tension in her body drained away as soon as she rested her head on her father's chest, the steady beat of his heart calming her nerves.

Kaede let out a cute little yawn as he hid his face in her shirt. "Sweepy," he murmured.

Sasuke glanced down at his children and smiled softly before turning back to the paper.

No sooner than Sarada fell asleep did Sakura come home, announcing her presence. "I'm back, dear!"

As she came into the living room, Sasuke looked up with an incredibly soft expression, their two children curled up together beside him. He'd taken off Sarada's glasses when she started to doze, and they were sitting on the armrest.

"Oh, how sweet," she clasped her hands together and cooed at the scene. "She just got home, did she?"

He nodded and reached over to brush some stray hairs out of her face. "She just conked."

"It's no wonder, her body is going through a lot of changes right now and she'll need all the rest she can get." She nodded and pecked her husband on the cheek. "Well now. Should I start on dinner?"

Sasuke nodded, setting the paper aside and carefully taking the two in his arm. "I'll tuck them in."

"You're so helpful, thank you." She beamed at him.

His face turned pink and he shyly looked away as his wife giggled. Sarada burying her face in his neck made him hold them closer as he made for the stairs.
