It was very late at night when Clara was woken up by the sound Kraehe's plea for help.
Clara knew that her best friend needed her so she sneaked out of the hollow and went towards the beach where Rue was waiting.
Rue's back was towards Clara and she was crying. "Rue? What's happened?" Clara asked in concern, Rue turned to her best friend.
"I'm so sorry!" Rue choked out, she hugged Clara. "It's alright, Bobble and I knew this would happen." Clara replied as she hugged Rue.
The two best friends slowly got on the ground as Rue continued to cry her heart out while Clara's hand rubbed Rue's back gently in circles.
Clara whispered words of comfort to her best friend who was suffering from the mental abuse thanks to the monster raven's harsh words.
"I want to hurry and finish the story so we can all be set free." Rue admitted sadly, Clara smiled softly at what her best friend had just said.
"Bobble and I want that as well but we need the monster raven to appear." Clara told Rue, she sighed but knew it had to happen in order.
As the two sat on the ground, they looked up and saw the night sky which was clear and beautiful as it was full of so many stars in dark night.
Rue glanced at Clara and decided that they needed to dance together as they used to do when they wanted to just have some fun when they felt like it.
So with that thought, Rue turned on some music which caught Clara's attention so the two girls stood up and smiled as they held hands for their dance.
[Play A dream worth keeping by Sheena Easton]
[Rue and Clara]
Anytime you want to be right here
Just imagine me and all this will appear
You can keep this moment all your life forever near
A dream worth keeping
When you're feeling lost I'll be your star
Just reach out and touch me no matter where you are
In a world where precious things are disappearing overnight
Just keep my star in sight
I believe
We've found a dream that's worth keeping
For more than just today
And even though
The winds of change may come sweeping
It's still a dream worth keeping
So don't let it fade away
Maybe you'll be in some distant land
Feeling all alone, but I'll be close at hand
And every time you see a rainbow paint the behind the rain
You'll be here again
I believe
We've found a dream that's worth keeping
For more than just a day
And even though
The winds of change may come sweeping
It's still a dream worth keeping
So don't let it fade away
Some day you might be thinking
That life has passed you by
Your spirits might be sinking
With hope in short supply
And that's the reason why
That's the reason why
I know this dream's worth keeping
As long as it will stay
And even when you see the darkness comes creeping
A dream worth keeping
Will never fade away.
At the end of the song, Rue and Clara smiled as they had just finished their waltz with one of most beautiful songs playing. "That was fun and nice." Rue said with a sincere smile on her face.
"It truly was, wasn't it?" Clara asked with a smile of her own, the two friends stared at each other before bursting out laughing. "We're such kids at times." Clara said with a soft laugh in her voice.
"We really are." Rue replied as she laughed, both girls sighed as they fell back to the ground before smiling up at the night sky. "I've missed this so much." Rue admitted to Clara, she nodded at that.
"Me too. We've haven't had this much fun in a long time." Clara responded softly, the girls held hands in comfort as they remembered all the fun times they had together as happy children back then.
But then, the girls tightened their grip as they suddenly remembered why they had to grow up much quicker than the other kids when their families had started to abuse them emotionally and mentally.
Rue and Clara both started going to ballet classes just to get away from their parents when things got too much for them at home and soon, the girls found a new family with their teacher and classmates.
When the girls had first joined, they were nervous around everyone but were surprised when they had been welcomed with open arms so they began to open up more and more to everyone at dance class.
Rue and Clara were having so much fun with their friends but that happiness broke a little when Ms. Onyx told them that their parents had been in an accident while they were driving and didn't survive.
The two best friends could still attend ballet class but in order to avoid being sent away, they agreed to live in the dorm rooms with the other girls from class so it was decided that they would live there.
"We've come a long way since then, haven't we?" Rue asked softly, Clara glanced at her. "I'd say we have." Clara replied sweetly, Rue looked at her best friend and gave her a warm, gentle smile again.
"I think it's time for us to part ways." Rue told Clara, she sighed sadly but knew the night could not last forever. "I suppose so." Clara replied sadly, she and Rue hugged once more before parting ways.
Both girls knew that soon the monster raven would appear and they would have to fight but hoped that the monster would be defeated forever once and for all so everyone would be safe forever more.
Clara vowed to protect Rue as the story progressed and the monster raven came out to fight. "I will save Rue and everyone else and peace will be restored." Clara said to herself as she fell back asleep.
