Helloooo my dear teen titan enthusiasts! Hope y'all are doing fineee! Now the fun really begins, I have had a few ideas so lets kick them into action!
Also wow thank you for the follows they mean so very much!
Iara Raven: more is definitely coming!
As upsetting as adding the disclaimer that I do not own the teen titans, I will say that if I owned it there would've been more seasons after trouble in Tokyo, just sayin'.
"Sure, come in," Raven spoke as per usual monotone, except slightly curious. Beast Boy followed her and closed the door behind him. The air felt empty, cold but peaceful. The silence was rather comforting to him, what with the commotion the Beast has been causing lately, after all, it was that time of the year.
Raven sat in a lotus position as Beast Boy sat carefully on the edge of the bed, smoothening out the crinkles, observing her for a moment. The clocked girl always took him to different places, rather challenging ones, both physically on the field, beating him effortlessly and mentally with all those confusing words. He wasn't complaining, in fact, he enjoyed being treated without pity, treated fairly despite his obvious maturity level. Yes, she did call him out for being a kid sometimes but it was always for pranks and arguing, never when battling, serious talking or when it came to his emotions.
Raven interrupted his thoughts, "So how may I assist you Beast Boy?" Garfield looked up at her and then away. "Well, the Beast has not been giving me full ownership of well...me? I guess it's cause I just don't know how to control him and he's so powerful I just-" Raven stood up and sat with him on the edge of her bed facing him. "I understand. Believe it or not, I struggle every day to keep all my emotions in check. without meditation, I wouldn't be stable enough to be on the team. You've got to recognise that power does not make you a stronger fighter, it's sometimes controlling or holding back the power you have that makes you strong." Beast Boy nodded, processing her words carefully then suddenly he broke the uncomfortable silence with a smile.
"That's wise talking Rae-Rae! Or should I call you Rae guru?" he wiggled his eyebrows and grinned. Raven frowned and got up from the bed and stared at him, "You're kidding, I'm not helping you if you make everything into a joke." "Hahaha no, I'm kidding it's just I haven't really talked about the Beast before and it's hard to open up so using comedy to break the awkwardness is the way to go, heh."
Raven looked strangely at her green companion. Raven thought to herself, 'I really feel like I don't understand him anymore'. Catching herself before she made another silence awkward she spoke up, "You shouldn't feel awkward about apart of you especially when it's me." Beast Boy's eyes softened and smiled at her, causing Raven to blush and pull up her hood. "Um- I didn't mean it that way, it's just I have a similar problem so I can somewhat relate and affirm what you feel." She said slowly. Beast Boy chuckled, "Don't worry Rae, I know what you meant, there's not all empty space in this", he taps the side of his head. Raven looked down and said carefully, "Its Raven, not Rae. Look I don't want you to think that we owe it to each other to share our deepest secrets and suddenly talk about feelings. However, I am your teammate and I will help you control the Beast. We just got to maintain our boundaries, so I'm going to lay down some rules-" Beast Boy walked up to her getting off the bed and touched her shoulder. "Raven I will respect your boundaries." Raven stared at his hand on her shoulder, while it sent shivers down her spine she mentally calmed a certain emotion and spoke,"Beast Boy you aren't, you're already invading my personal space. Look the rules are as follows; Do not touch me without asking, do not come into my room without knocking and listen to my advice, got it?" Beast Boy withdrew his hand from her porcelain shoulder to his side and nodded his head.
Raven spent the rest of the evening doing research on beasts and found nothing. With Beast Boy's complex DNA from Sakutia, Raven would need to know more about the serum used to save Beast Boy, so she could see what characteristics the Beast could have. Raven sighed, she really had no idea about Beast Boy's past until he had blurted it out when Robin stepped over a line calling him jungle boy at a games night. She went to her room earlier that night and researched about his past, brought up files from Cyborg's bio databases in efforts to understand the changeling. She hadn't found out much there either. 'He really isn't as open of a book as the others on the team, maybe he and I need to talk about-'. She stopped herself from going down that track. Although she cared a great deal about Beast Boy, her feelings could never be discussed. Not after what she's been through in efforts to control and not let those same emotions be resurfaced.
Beast Boy spent the rest of his evening gaming with Cyborg after the two patched up from yesterday's argument he knew he needed to focus on something other than the Beast. "Awww dude no fair, Super Monkeys Go came out the day before yesterday and you have a high score already?" Beast Boy whined. Cyborg laughed and winked at him, "Green bean I can't help it I'm a speedy, mean machine". Garfield smirked, looked back from his controller to the screen, sticking his tongue out trying to concentrate. "Besides", Cyborg continued, "Bumble Bee agrees." Gar peeled his eyes away from the screen and faced him.
"Did you just say Bumble Bee, dude I'm so happy for you, but you've hardly hung out with her?"
Cyborg blushed uncharacteristically, "Oh no man it's not what you think, not yet anyway. I've just been messaging her lately, that's all."
Beast Boy snorted looking back at the screen, twiddling his thumbs on his joysticks, "Yeah I'm sure y'all have ZERO feelings for each other."
The door swung open revealing Starfire and Robin holding shopping bags. Cyborg glanced up and shook his head, "So I know birds need to forage stuff to build their nests, but I didn't think you'd be that bird who bought twice the amount of stuff just in case Robin." Robin put down their shopping and looked unimpressed, "Ha ha very funny Cyborg, just some stuff for the bedroom." Starfire zipped in and out of her room placing the store-bought items away and spoke,"The mall of shopping has quite the selection, I must say." Cyborg and Beast Boy now both looked up at her raising an eyebrow and before Cyborg could ask-
Raven walked into the lounge, interrupting Cyborg and sat in the corner sofa chair. "-I wouldn't ask what 'stuff' they bought for the bedroom, I'd leave some parts of the team to the imagination, that includes your sex life Star."
Beast Boy immediately snickered and Robin looked horrified. Star replied, "We will keep our night festivities to ourself friend Raven, but I must say we only part take in the sex 5 times a week because Robin gets tir-." Raven used her magic to muffle Starfire and sent both of them into her black portal. Beast Boy and Cyborg started laughing and Cyborg said, "Thanks sis, I really did not need to know those details." "Well hey I mean not like they're quiet or anything" Beast Boy chimed in. Raven shot a questioning glance, "Are you that bored or that curious?" Garfield glared but turned into a soft smile when he saw Raven grinning mischievously. "Its the sharp senses what can I say?" He wiggled his ears in response. "Aw man, that's just gross", as Cyborg got up and left the lounge. "HEY, NOT THAT I CAN HELP IT OR ANYTHING, PLUS THEY ARE THE ONES BEING GROSS." Beast Boy shot back. Raven gave a smug look and said, "So that's what you think of sex, that it's gross?" Beast Boy got up and returned his controller to the drawer, "Well personally no, I mean not that I've done it before." He shrugged. Raven folded the top right-hand corner of her page and closed it catching Beast Boy's attention. "You can have opinions about sex before actually doing it." "Well Rae, I don't really think about sex", Beast Boy lied. Raven leaned back on the couch looking up to the ceiling. "Why do you care, what's your opinion about sex?" He asked innocently. Raven looked back down and said slowly, "well I'm not drawing any conclusions until I've experienced it." Beast Boy mumbled under his breath without thinking, "I could help you draw some conclusions."
Raven stopped breathing searched his face for answers. He was looking at his hands and then noticed Raven's heartbeat increase slightly. His eyes widening as he met hers as he just realised what he said. "THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS- I mean helping you find someone to have sex with haha." He gulped hoping she wouldn't press him for the sudden implication. Raven now more confused than ever got up and said, "I am not going to let you play matchmaker for me. Besides you don't know the first thing about me." The changeling waved dismissively and said, "I've lived with you enough to know who you can tolerate."
"Oh really? Amuse me then Logan"
"For example" He rose up to meet her standing near the kitchen, facing her. "You wouldn't date Aqualad, although he catches every girl's eye including yours, he hasn't been through what you have."
"What I have been through I haven't even begun to discuss with you let alone processed in my head", Raven challenged him with a glare.
"So that may be, but with the stuff I've already seen with your father, I know you deserve someone who has been through shit to know how to feel." His eyes softened.
"In case you haven't noticed Beast Boy there isn't any half-demon guys, let alone my age to be in a relationship with."
"Who said anything about a half-demon, they could be half anything and understand how the other part of you stops you from being 'normal'"
Raven glanced at the distance between them, suddenly hyper-aware of his breath on her eyelashes.
"There aren't many guys who are willing to even come within a foot of me, let alone handle my demons." She said forcefully, to hide how much it upset her. Causing a few hairs to fall out of place. Garfield looked at her face, noticing the strands of hair tickling her cheek. He absentmindedly stroked her hair past her cheek and tucked it behind her ear.
"I am here, less than a feet away aren't I?" Garfield feeling bold.
Raven face grew shy and a light pink blush where the strands of hair were, tickled her cheek.
"It's getting late, I need to go to bed." Raven lied and walked away.
Beast Boy watched her walk away and facepalmed. 'Real smooth, I really do not know boundaries.'
Woah a little bit of heat and fluff at the end, tbh I didn't expect that myself until I started writing it. The best moments in life are spontaneous and ones you do without meticulous planning. Review, follow and let me know any suggestions!
