The morning was crisp, but the air wasn't clear enough for Raven to continue mentoring Beast Boy. To tackle his Beast problem would be to summon the Beast out and see what turns his cogs. With a mixture of the Beast's erratic nature and Beast Boy's mixed signals, Raven decided to give Beast Boy some homework from afar. She told him to start small and meditate for a minute with no questions, thoughts or feelings. After 5 minutes, Beast Boy knocked at her door and asked her if his feelings after meditation were right. Raven shook her head. He went back and started meditating. Like clockwork, every 5 minutes beast boy would start asking questions, and Raven just shook her head. After an hour of trying, Raven decided to give up and rise to the occasion.

Beast Boy walked into the room, and Raven closed her eyes and let out a sigh.

"Raven I think I finally got it."

"..."

I've narrowed my thoughts down to Mega Monkeys 4 and Tofu but once I started thinking about that it switched to Cyborg for a small bit..."

Raven breathes out heavily.

"...wait, wait I haven't finished explaining."

"..."

"This isn't working. Ugh, I knew you couldn't teach me..."

"..."

"Okay SORRY, you can teach, it's just that I can't learn, ugh stupid..."

"Hey, Beast Boy?"

Beast boy looked up at Raven with apologetic eyes.

"You've spent one minute talking about how you've felt after meditation while I've finished one minute of meditating."

"..."

"How does it feel like to get your ass whooped by a girl?"

Beast Boy's eyes went wide at Raven's language and said, "dude that's so unfair, you do this all the time. This is my first time meditating, give me a chance."

Raven smirked, "funny that you think you're qualified to use that excuse after 1 hour of 1-minute meditations..." "I-" Beast Boy started, but Raven pushed a finger to his after-effects his interruption. "...Coming in and talking about the after-effects of meditating. You don't feel the benefits of meditation until you've stopped your internal countdown to a minute, you let the time go in meditating."

Beast Boy's jaw dropped and started pacing around her room angrily. "So you tricked me? Telling me a time limit to meditate when you wanted me not to have a time limit but..."

Raven laughed. Beast Boy's ear perked and stopped in his tracks.

'Oh two can play this game', he thought.

Beast Boy smiled and chuckled to himself. "See you later, Raven."

Raven felt good from her mentoring session and felt like she got the point across. She decided to reward herself by going to her favourite place, the bookstore. This wasn't just any bookstore, no it had a tea brewing station with comfy seating to read and relax. Raven's guilty pleasure was reading contemporary/young adult because she could escape. She knew escapism in a large quantity is an unhealthy coping mechanism, but she did not want to work through her problems. Why? Well, because the world needed superheroes to save them from instances out of their control. She was a superhero and superheroes don't get a break from saving lives, it's a 24-hour role. She was reading Collen Hoover and lived and bathed in her stories. Raven loved Hoover's way with words, immersing the reader into the conversation between characters and using empathy to give the eyes more crying than reading.

It was 6 pm, and the sun was setting, and Raven decided to head home. On her way home, she pondered how her life would have panned out if she wasn't a Titan. 22 and she didn't have problems a typical 22 years old would have. The books she read, the characters her age face; career instability, transitioning from universities to jobs, dating, relationships, sex, financial milestones, flatting and big life decisions. Raven neither had the time or the opportunity to have these problems, which she knew she should be grateful for but she wasn't. She craved normalcy; most superheroes do from time to time. She dreamt of being a human being, not some meta-human or a demoness. She consistently had responsibility ever since she could remember, emotions she had to constrain and people she had to look after. When would somebody look after her?

She had the responsibilities of a mother without the rewards of having a baby.

Raven reached the front door of the Titans Tower and opened it. The lights were on in the kitchen, and she almost choked at what she saw. Starfire leaned against the cupboard while sitting on the kitchen bench with her hands tangled in Robins hair and her mouth caught between his. Robin was standing and closing his eyes until Raven coughed loudly and flushed simultaneously. Each member of this awkward encounter completely froze in shock until Beast Boy walked into the picture. Raven, Robin and Starfire all thought the conversation couldn't get any weirder when Beast Boy walked in, but the words that escaped his mouth proved otherwise.

"Hey, guys! So this is where the party is at, mind if I join on whatever you folk are doing this fine evening?" Beast Boy's eyes finally wander around to the position of Starfire on the bench and awkwardly chuckled. "Haha, so Robin's doing Starfire, Raven what are you doing?" Raven phased them both into her room to escape this.

Raven sat on her bed and Beast Boy sat on the floor near the door in silence for a few minutes to digest what had just happened in the living room. After a while Raven got mad and decided to speak, scowling, "Why do you feel the need to open your mouth when you shouldn't?"

Beast Boy just smirked, completely ignoring Raven's snide remark.

"Question Raven, how long were you staring at them, are you into voyeurism or something?"

Raven raised her eyebrows, "Wow Garfield, you know what that means?"

Beast Boy shrugged, "I'm 23, not 13 Raven, my vocabulary has definitely expanded, especially in that area."

Raven glanced in his direction and squinted, "What area? Kinks? because that says a lot about the kind of person you are, not to kink shame but that's an interesting comment to be dashing out recklessly."

"I don't dash them out recklessly, I pick and choose the people I say stuff to, and yeah it says that I am the person who has things that turn me on. For example, I like mirrors and control."

Raven laughed, "Yeah mirrors because you are so self-absorbed it gets you off that makes sense but control hahaha you can't control the beast so what exactly are you controlling?"

Beast Boy walked to Raven's bed and kneeled in front of her and snickered, "For example". He tucked a hair behind her cheek and saw her face flush and her ears go red. "I can control how your body reacts to mine, and I like that."

Raven just stared at him long and hard, and Beast Boy winked and got up. Before he reached the door, he said, "By the way, you should definitely try the mirrors thing." The door shut, leaving Raven's heartbeat echoing in her chest.

After Garfield's actions, the Empath started questioning who needed the meditation more.

Beast Boy or her.
