The Red Shadow
Life was slipping through her digits. A vague loud boom resonated somewhere around her, but the only thing she could clearly hear were her own vents. Her energon was spilled over the soil around her, leaking from her side wound. She was running out of time.
Another strong thum shook the earth beneath her, while she struggled to grab a hold on her vanishing spark. Her sight felt clouded, unable to recognize the red figure that had just hovered over her. A servo caressed her cheek, and whispered something to her, but she could not hear, she could not understand.
Pain, that's what she registered then, as pressure was applied on her wound. She cried. Another boom. The figure shouted, and a greenish light filled her vision. She was lifted, arms dangling loose, and carried away. She did not know where she was, but she could feel the cold surface she was placed onto. The red shadow danced once again before her blinking optics, but never got to see what happened next, her world becoming black.
She felt warm, the warmth of someone beside her, a warmth she hadn't felt in eons. She felt safe, she felt protected, she felt home. She slowly opened her optics, though everything was still blurry to her. Her gaze laid onto the crimson forearm wrapping her around, and barely being able to look over her shoulder, a face greeted her.
"Cliff..." She mumbled in a bliss, optics half closed.
Still under the stasis effect, she managed to return a sincere smile back, clumsily moving a servo towards him. The figure held it silent, kissing it tenderly, and returning a grin of his own, before carefully motioning her to get back to her previous posture. She didn't complain. She rested her helm back optics closed now, facing away from him, her grin still on her lips, her servo still on his.
"I've missed you, Cliff..." She ex-vented, slowly drifting back into recharge. "I've missed you..."
