Mako's Message: I don't really know if this was the BEST place to put this chapter...but I've been wanting to write this for a LONG time and I also wanted to get a chapter up so I guess this is good enough.

There was a typo, of a sort, in the chapter that I decided to leave because I really liked the effect.

I also have another "collection of drabbles" style story in the works. So, keep an eye out for that. It's not for Kick-Ass though, to be clear.

Anyway, Enjoy!

I got a Christmas card from Jessi. Kind of a shock, but a welcome one. She said she wanted time to adjust and deal with stuff in her last letter, so I didn't try to respond or anything.

It sucked, because any time I thought about her, I wanted to know how she was doing but I couldn't contact her. I mean, I COULD have, but she didn't give me her contact information and I wanted to respect her request so I didn't.

But wow. Getting the card wasn't the only shock. First, she's started dating someone. Which, ya know, was like, "Omg Jessi, no, what are you doing?" but it's a girl she met at her anger management group therapy sessions. So...improvement?

I mean, she was going to Anger Management therapy, so… that's not good, but if we make that a deal breaker then Jessi would never be able to date anyone. Plus she's already met her girlfriend's parents and they knew each other for a few months before they started dating so… win?

And the girl, Laura, has a poster of me in her room so I know she has good taste.

Jessi's Aunt and Uncle know about her too, and Laura's parents like Jessi so that's a good sign.

The fact that Jessi actually has people watching over her and caring about her instead of like, a sexually abusive Dursley family is a huge improvement to her whole dating life.

And that wasn't the only shocker either.

Jessi is now a "superhero".

I actually found that out before anything else because she sent me a photo of their group. It reminded me a lot of what Justice Forever was when they started.

She said aside from the public service type stuff they'll patrol the hot party spots in case some drunk fucks try to start trouble, but they don't go after criminals or anything like that. And it's Pittsburgh. Not exactly the first place you'd think of if someone said, "Crime ridden city in need of heroes." She should be fine.

She didn't say who she was in the photo, just asked me to guess. It wasn't super hard, since they were pretty diverse, and there was only one girl who was tall and thin, with big boobs who also happened to have another girl hanging on to her, who I assume was Laura. Her girlfriend seems… interesting. Her outfit looks kinda like a … steampunk Harley Quinn? Kinda? I guess? With goggles?

Jessi on the other hand… She looks… What was the name of the soldier lady in Wreck-It Ralph? Her outfit looks kinda like that, but she wears make-up that looks like Domino's. She doesn't have a black spot over her eye though, but a spade. Like from a deck of cards. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

She does look happy in the photo though. Her girlfriend looks fucking ecstatic. I guess it's good for her to have someone who's just happy to have you as their girlfriend.

The letter had an e-mail address and a phone number at the end. I think I'll go text her and get the deets on the girlfriend.
