Not So Haunted Mansion
Tracey gulped nervously as he slowly entered the mansion, his heart pounded in his chest and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up straight. Just as he slowly took two steps farther into the old mansion the front door slammed shut roughly making Tracey almost jump out of his skin.
"I'm doomed," Tracey whispered softly, fear in his voice as his eyes darted around the dark empty entrance hall while one of his hands slowly went downwards, towards his Pokeballs. "Why oh why did Professor Oak wanted me to come in here for? It is too scary for any Pokémon, besides Ghost types to live here."
Doing his best to stay calm Tracey took a few seconds to take a deep calming breath, sweat was pouring off of his skin making him feel as if he had just swam with Water type Pokémon. With his hand on one of his Pokeballs Tracey finally took another step forwards, when nothing happened he took another, and another, until he had slowly made his way into the middle of large entrance hall.
"So far so good..." Tracey said to himself as he looked curiously around the dark entrance hall the best he could. "I wonder if Professor Oak wanted me to g-"
A loud bang suddenly came from behind Tracey but before the Pokémon watcher had time to react the lights suddenly flickered on causing the entrance hall to become flooded with light. As his eyes slowly became used to the sudden change in brightness Tracey slowly turned around to face whatever had made the loud bang sound he had heard. Only to come face to face with a normal looking Psyduck who was standing in the middle of the open doorway.
"Psy? Psyduck," the Water Pokémon said as it tilted its head to the side as it looked around the room.
'What is going on? How did the lights turn on? Where did that Psyduck come from and how did the closed front door open by itself?' Tracey thought , his mind a mess of different thoughts. A few seconds later the odd Psyduck took one long hard look at Tracey before using its teleport attack, or so Tracey thought, leaving the student Pokémon watcher rooted to the spot. 'W-What just happened?'
Slowly walking towards the newly opened front door Tracey looked around for the mysterious Psyduck only to find not a single trace of the Pokémon. Just as Tracey curiously stuck his head out of the front door he found himself once again plunged into darkness.
"T-This place is haunted! By that strange Psyduck!" Tracey cried out in fear as he jumped to conclusions while he stumbled out of the front door before he quickly began to make a run for it. "I am not going to be captured and hurt by an insane Psyduck!"
Without looking back Tracey broke out into a run. He would not stop running until he had reached Professor Oak's lab.
***A few seconds earlier with the Psyduck's trainer, OC Mountain Hiker Mark***
"I hope that what I tried this time got the lights working until I can find myself a more experienced electrician," Mark said to himself as he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I hope that Psyduck finds the lights on and working alright."
As appearing by magic Mark's Psyduck appeared next to him making Mark give him a hopeful grin. In return Psyduck simply stared at him with wide gormless eyes.
"My friend! Is the lights working now?"
"Psy?" Psyduck said as it tilted its head to the side, confusing Mark slightly. "Psyduck, Psy."
"Right..." Mark said slowly rubbing his beard thoughtfully. "I guess your headache is really bad then...I'll just go and check for myself..."
As Psyduck watched Mark walk away he wondered just how he would tell him about an infestation of insane people inside their new home.
