Alright, this is the second chapter that I want to update. I want to (almost) do the same thing that Yusuke did to rescue Eri as Deku did. But, this is currently different considering that I wanted Eri to become a demon child instead, and be friends with Yusuke and Hiei a strong bond between the two. Let me know how it turns out because I'm working on publishing more chapters that I already prepared. I DO NOT OWN MHA/BNHA and YYH.

Mysterious Spirit Energy

Ever since yesterday, Eri has met with Yusuke's other friends that she slightly has grown attached to. She was still staying at Kurama's place and sometimes Yusuke or Kuwabara would come over to check on her. Today Yusuke made a promise that he was going to take her someplace fun for her because he wanted her to be happy. Was it worth it?

"I can't believe Urameshi hasn't come by to pick up Eri yet. What's taking him so long?" Kuwabara complained, holding Eri's hand in his giant one as she looked ahead of her quite blankly.

"I'm sure he'll come to get her soon," Botan reassured.

"Well, I'm tired of waiting. Let's go." Kuwabara dragged Eri with him as the three of them walked ahead to find Yusuke.

The three walked along the sidewalk to find Yusuke together until they found his school bag on the ground as Botan somehow didn't expect anyone to take him down so easily. Yusuke was now kidnapped since Kuwabara was watching over Eri, he had to bring her and Botan to Kurama's school and looked for him there. As the night sky appeared, the others were outside in the park together trying to find a way to get Hiei to come to them.

"There! All the gadgets of the Spirit Detective!" Botan revealed the case that shows the spirit detective gadgets inside.

"Wow, like a real secret agent," Kuwabara said.

"So, which device will find him?" Kurama asked.

Botan began showing some of the latest and quite useful tools that weren't quite good to use. Especially if they even try to find Hiei at this point to help them rescue Yusuke.

"Perhaps it's the wrong approach." Kurama starts. "Instead of finding him, is there an item that will make him find us?"

"Get real! Botan would have mentioned it if we had something like that." Kuwabara said.

Botan clapped her fist onto her palm with a large smile on her face, "We do!" She digs inside of the case to pull out the whistle, "The Mystic Whistle. I never had much for a reason to show Yusuke this darling, but it's really quite neat." She explained holding the whistle, "Sort of a dog whistle for apparitions. It shoots out a sound wave only they can hear. The stronger your Spirit Energy, the louder the sound. I can make it go at least sixty miles."

Botan warned everyone to cover their ears which would create a painful sound. As she blew the whistle which ached Kurama and Eri's ear the loud ringing noise except for Kuwabara.

"There, now we wait for Hiei. Hopefully, he shows up." Botan said.

Suddenly, Hiei falls out of the tree and lands on the ground holding his head from the fall. The others rushed over as Eri hid behind Botan.

"What repulsive creature makes my eardrums bleed?" Hiei inquired, holding his left ear in pain as he glanced up to see the others standing there.

Botan gave him a genuine smile, "Thanks, Hiei. I thought you would come if we called."

"Hn, I didn't know it was you. I only came to find the source of that vile noise…" Hiei said with a stoic look in his eyes. "and kill it."

"Here. You better read this." Kurama said, holding the letter out.

Hiei took the letter that the others have already read as he smirked.

"So, the detective has been ensnared." Hiei grunts in forming a small grin on his face. "Wish I'd been around there to see it. Must have been too cocky to realize his own weakness." The fire demon frankly said, "Just tell the kidnappers I turned it down. I'm finished babysitting."

"You must be curious, Hiei," Kurama said as the fire demon glanced in the corner of his eye returning a small grunt. "Someone strong enough to overcome Yusuke must surely provide a challenge."

Kurama only knew that Hiei wanted to have a rematch against Yusuke after their first encounter which he lost against. Hiei glanced back at the fox demon letting a small "Hn" and smirk.

"Nice try…" Hiei said facing his back against them. "...But I no longer care."

As Hiei starts to walk off, Botan speaks up, "How can you even walk-off, Hiei? If you don't come, Yusuke could be killed!"

The look in Hiei's eyes as he whipped his head around to face the ferry girl. He responded, "Not my responsibility. You should have learned by now this is a kill to be killed world." He says and continues, "If you're too weak to help yourself, you deserve to fall."

"Then what if stopping these people now protected your own interests?" Kurama asked as Hiei turned halfway around a little intrigued by Kurama's question. "The culprits are likely human, and we both know what powerful humans like to hunt. If they're allowed to kill Yusuke, perhaps you will be next."

'Killed…?' Eri thought as she held the hem of her dress lowering her head not noticing Hiei glancing down at her small form knowing that a child listening to this conversation was not needed.

"Fighting humans, that nearly piques my interest, but not quite," Hiei replied.

Botan starts, "I wonder, Hiei...How have you liked being stuck on probation, bolted down to one human city?"

"What do you think?" Hiei glared at the ferry girl with a slight frown.

"Well, if you help bring back Yusuke alive, I'll have Koenma cut your sentence to time served. You'll be free." Botan said with a straight face.

"You sure you wanna do that?" Kuwabara asked.

"There's no other choice. We're almost out of time." Botan replied to Kuwabara and faced back to Hiei. "Make your call, Hiei."

"Fighting humans to win my freedom…" Hiei inquired as he had a dark expression on his face and formed a small grin and nods. "Yes, sounds like a deal."

"Then come on! This is one house party. We can't be late!" Botan said.

"Um, guys, before we go we have one problem," Kuwabara said.

The others glimpsed down knowing what he meant which involved Eri. She was clutching her skirt and slightly pouting.

"Who's going to look after her?" Kuwabara asked.

"No one you fool." Hiei coldly said.

Kurama knew it wasn't his turn to watch Eri when it was Yusuke's turn to watch her.

"Bring her along," Kurama said.

"What? Why do we need to bring her? For what?" Hiei inquired.

Kurama glanced over at his friend saying, "We can't just leave her alone and since it's Yusuke's turn to watch her. It should be fair to bring her with us and we can't leave her alone."

"Hn," Hiei grunts as he takes Eri's hand which surprised her a little and she was dragged away to follow the others and rescue Yusuke.

Eri P.O.V.

We arrived where they wanted us to come to rescue Yusuke as the house looked like more of a haunted house. I was scared that I didn't know if we should go in. But, it's like Botan said that Yusuke might be killed and...I don't want anyone to die…

"Oi, the child, keep up or we'll leave you behind," Hiei said in a deep tone, tugging me to go in as I followed them inside.

There was a letter inside to warn us not to say "Hot" and it also says that there are 4 dimensions too. We entered the house and it was really warm inside, a bit too warm. We learned that his name was Yu Kaito, one of the people that Yusuke left with and got himself captured. He was ready to test out Kurama who was the popular student in his class as I felt Hiei released my hand to take out his sword. He was going to take him in a flash but it would seem that Kaito had a barrier to protect him that was strong enough to break Hiei's sword. He then takes Hiei's soul as our eyes widen to see Hiei was frozen. After the others were frozen trying to take Kaito on, the only ones left were Kurama and I as I stayed close. But this guy had the psychic ability and I was just scared what his next move will be if Kurama can save them.

'No. Please don't do this to them.' I thought desperately.

Just as Yu Kaito could do anything Kurama used his flower ability to create a forest. I knew better when I could sense him coming near to where I was to see the frozen figures behind me. All I could see was a pain in their eyes as I felt my horn glow while the guy who took their life energy away was behind me. He was watching and ready to stop me, but Kurama came just in time to stop him, but I couldn't control my power. I was able to bring the others back without knowing as they were unfrozen.

"Oh? What in the-Botan'' was cut off by Kurama.

"Eri!" Kurama came over to where I was which my horn began to shortly lose its aura. When I saw the others were back to normal I gasped to cover my ears.

"I'm sorry," I said, quivering.

"Shh, it's alright now," Kurama said in a soothing tone.

"I'm confused. What did she just do?" Kuwabara asked.

Kurama came over to me and held me in his arms, replying, "She used her spirit energy with no control based on her abilities; it seems as if she was able to free you all. I'm afraid that it shocked her a little to make it happen so suddenly."

"No need to waste your tears child," Hiei said in a monotone.

"Hey, if something is wrong with her that caused her to act like that. It's bad, don't you think?" Kuwabara inquired.

"Perhaps," Kurama said glancing down at me with a soft gaze in his green eyes, "She probably doesn't know how to control this power of hers. It's the horn."

Hiei P.O.V.

I don't know what to say about this child's strong power that she manages to save us from those four eyes tricks that I couldn't stop him before Kurama took care of him. Now, we're going to be playing four doors that might lead us to Yusuke.

"Here it is. This clever little gadget is guaranteed to blow you away!" Botan exclaimed in her cheery mood of hers. "The always-stylish Megiru Seal!"

The ferry girl began to explain that when we wear these seals can only be removed by the person placing them and changes color as it shows a sign of blue meaning "Fine", yellow "Ok", and red is "Danger". Kind of silly if you ask me. The fools started to wear one with their names written on them, which showed that they were fine, but I refused to wear one.

"Well, it seems everyone is fine. Everyone except for you, Hiei." Botan said, narrowing her eyes at me as I scowled.

"I don't need them." I protested.

"Sure you do. You want to know we're okay." She says as she approached me with the seal ready to place it on me as I grabbed her wrist.

"Touch me and I break your wrist." I threatened.

"Could it be that Hiei has already forgotten that his soul was first to be lost? And Eri and I helped you get it back." He said placing the seal on me and so did Botan that I growled.

I felt Eri pulling my robe as I glanced down at her as she stared at me before placing the seal on my chest no response as she just did it.

Unbelievable that I had to wear this on me that the ferry girl "Claimed" it'll keep us safe.

"So, which one is taking Eri?" Botan asked.

The big fool was about to open his mouth but I beat him to it by taking the child's hand in mine. I felt a spike of energy through my body as I sensed it coming from this child which is unnatural for most demons.

"I'll take her." I declared.

'What am I doing? This child is just a weakling and she doesn't know what to do to protect herself.' I thought. I did grab her hand before this big oaf tried to take her from me, not that it mattered. ,

"Really? You'll look after a child without being so mean to them?" Kuwabara asked.

"You fools will screw up everything if something happened to her. "I said in a serious tone, glaring at them in the corner of my eye. "I'll take care of her when we go in these doors."

"Very well, if Eri is okay with it," Kurama said.

I glanced down at the child as she looked up at me with those big innocent red eyes that remind me of Yukina. I could feel her hand gripping mine that meant she wanted to stay with me.

"She made her choice," I replied in a monotone.

"Okay. Then it's already settled." Botan said.

The doors we stood in front of were ours to walk inside and see what kind of traps they pulled on us.

"Stay close." I told Eri as she only nodded with a lip quiver as we entered inside 'our' door which was a long stairway as I could hear her feet pattering on the floor.

Just as we were about to take another step a trap door opened as I held onto Eri to prevent her from falling as we fell and landed on the ground. As I sat down Eri, I looked around to see so many stairways that were like a maze as I scoffed. This wasn't going to fool me.

"Watch your step," I told her as she nodded as I pulled out my sword to slice through which seemed to be mirrored as the glass shattered revealing the staircase. "Tch, amateurs. Let's go."

Eri followed me up the stairway and once we opened the door it led us straight to the detective. He was just standing there not moving an inch away from the light and it seemed like someone was keeping him from moving. The other doors opened also when we turned our heads to see that the others have made it. Yusuke was glad to see us but the person that was preventing him from moving was psychic Asato Kido. He said there is a trivia question for Yusuke to solve and forced us to tell the truth and who was in disguise. In the end, the foolish game ended which was a test that Genkai had set up. What a waste of my time that I had to go through this whole scenario for nothing.

Yusuke P.O.V.

After the rescue from my teammates, I was glad to see them and Eri that I didn't have to stand in the light anymore like a damn statue. Genkai who introduced us to the main three that I fought after getting kidnapped were psychics and their abilities have been going on for about a month. That's not only that-Genkai also told us about the insects that have been flying around that someone was trying to open the gate of the demon world to spawn here in the human world. That's insane!

It was part of Sakyo's plan that someone else was continuing it for him. It just won't stop, would it?

"Geez, I completely forgot that I had to watch Eri." I sweatdropped.

"Your useless brain can't even remember to look after a child. I had to watch her." Hiei sneered.

"Did you have a great time?" I grinned down at him cockily as he glared at me.

We suddenly heard a loud beeping coming from Botan she opened it to reveal Koenma. He too had heard about the tunnel drill connected from the demon world and human world that they have no idea who was causing it. Koenma begins explaining about the rankings of the demons which we found out that at the Dark Tournament Toguru was a B Class and they even had the demons ranked to stay low in the spirit world too. Not even his father or reinforcements could defeat upper S-Class Demons.

"Then whoever is causing it must be that powerful enough to bring the demons here," Kurama said.

"That's right," Koenma said.

I frowned, "So, I'm going to have to find this guy and take him down."

At the end of the conversation, we decided to see what else is needed to be done. We have to investigate and spread around the city to search for answers.

"Well, you certainly got me there with these psychic students of yours, Genkai," I said.

"They are our allies and will help us find the one whos causing this mess." She said.

Her head turned as she looked over at Eri asking, "Why did you bring a child here?"

"It was supposed to be Urameshi's turn to watch Eri until he got himself into this mess," Kuwabara replied.

"This is Eri. We found her yesterday running from someone trying to take her away." I introduced the little girl to Genkai as she stood there a few feet away from us. "She also has been through for some time too."

Genkai approached Eri taking her arms asking, "May I?" Eri only nodded a little as Genkai removed the bandages to reveal scars on her arm. The scars were everywhere as our eyes widened to see them.

"Eri..." I spoke softly.

"W-Who did this to you?" Botan asked.

Eri stayed silent and grew pale as she silently started to cry to snatch her arm away from Genkai. She was trembling like before looking at us scared.

"I hate to say this, but it would appear that someone has been abusing her," Kurama said.

"Yeah, but who did it?" I asked.

"I do have a question about that horn on your head. I sense strong energy from her too, but I don't want to trigger anything." Genkai said.

I was about to speak up as I came over to Eri holding her hand asking, "Eri...who did this to you? Was it Toguru?"

"Toguru?" Genkai asked.

"Yeah, she mentioned Toguru to us and didn't say anything afterward." I glimpsed over at the old hag and focused back on Eri. "Now, who did this to you?"

"I...No..." She muttered.

"Why not?" I asked softly.

She shook her head as her eyes began to go watery, "Because you can't fix this and you'll only get hurt. I know who did it, but I can't tell you."

Kurama came over asking, "Eri, do you know this person? I-Is he someone you know of that continued Sakyo's plan?"

Eri only looked up at us with a painful expression which she downright knows who did it. She might know who else is doing this who plot to take over the human world, spirit world, and the demon world.

"Tell us who it is, Eri. You have to trust us and we'll help you." I pleaded as she jumped into my arms shaking as fear was in those eyes.

"I can sense fear," Genkai said. "She won't talk and she can't tell us. Whoever did this to her may have forced her to keep her mouth shut and not tell anyone."

"Why do that?" I asked.

Eri speaks up, "Please...Please don't take me back."

"Take you back?" Hiei repeated a little lost like the rest of us as she covered her ears as I held her.

"I think that's enough we don't want to pressure her any further," Kurama said.

"Yeah, I think your right."

"Okay, well, we better head off then and see what we can do with this situation we're in," I said picking up Eri glancing down at her form that she was scared and couldn't say a thing about what we're dealing with right now. She knows something is up, but she won't tell us.
