The Truth Within The Whispers
She tossed and turned through out the night. Moaning and groaning unpleasantly, haunted by the voices in her head.
"Ms. Connar... ~!"
She tried to close them out.
"Don't hold me back, ...You know who you are, you must remember now!"
She clenched her teeth and threw her pillow over her head.
No...
Stop...
Go away, Go away, Go away!
Go...a...way...?
a sudden calmness washed over her. Visuals became clear before her eyes...
Am I...dreaming?
I see...a lighthouse.
Is that the Academy Lighthouse?
But wait...there's someone there...
A tall, stoic male stood in the shadow of the lighthouse. It was hard to see his face in the shadows at frist. But the dark blue hair and the white obelisk coat soon made clear this mystery man's identity.
He turned to Connar slowly, not saying a word.
"Zane?" she blinked," What's going on Zane? when did I get here?" she asked,"I thought I was asleep in bed...so..."
He remained silent. He then turned to her and approached her slowly.
"Wait...something doesn't feel right." she blinked and took one step back,"...Are you really Zane?"
Zane blinked at her and smiled. It was a warm smile. A Kind smile. A Familiar smile...but it wasn't Zane's.
"...You're not Zane...are you?" she blinked, this was strange. Whoever this was, even though it looked like Zane, she knew it wasn't. "Who are you?"
He didn't say anything. He only maintained his smile and pointed north.
"You want me to go in that direction?" she asked him,"Why? What's over there?"
The being portraying Zane smiled and and another voice echoed around her, only this time it wasn't female like when she held her Dark Magician Girl.
"Follow the light." it said,"It will lead you to me."
"To you?" Connar blinked,"But...who are you!?"
As she asked this however, Zane faded away into light, and a shining giggling orb swerved around in his place.
"A...light?" she blinked,"Are you the light that voice told me to follow?"
"Come along, ~!" it teetered in a sing song chirp,"Follow me, he's waiting for you!"
"But...who are you talking about?"
"You must remember now, , it's important that you do!"
With that the orb took off in a hypnotic rhythm, luring Connar to follow.
"Where are we going?" Connar, mumbled, they seemed to walk forever. At least she did. Meanwhile the girggling ball of light could float. Suddenly she felt the wind change, and it caused her to raise her head.
"There...up ahead." she pointed,"Is that...a well?"
The org teetered and giggling, floating around in circles above the well. Curious, Connar drew closer to it. She placed both hands on the stone walls. She could feel a cool breeze coming from within it, it softly blew her hair around her. Suddenly the light stopped and manifested into a feminine form.
"I knew it...it's you!" Connar gasped,"You're Dark Magician Girl!"
The female duel monster giggled.
"That's it..." Connar sighed and fell to her knees, still holding the stones while her head hung down toward the grass beneath her knees.
"Now I know I'm dreaming."
She blonde monster sighed and shook her head.
"There's so much more going on here than you realize, ." she said,"That's why it's important that you remember!"
"But...I don't understand..." Connar said, slowly looking up,"What is it that you keep telling me is so important for me to remember...?"
"They're memories that you locked away yourself a long time ago..."
She said,"The time has come...you must rehash them now and face who you are." She pointed into the well once more, and Connar stood. If this was a dream anyway...what difference did it really take to look within? She swallowed hard and faced the darkness beneath her, one that lit up slowly as another light rose from the darkness."
" , It's been a long time."
"Ah..you...you're the voice from before? at the Lighthouse!" exclaimed Connar,"The entity who disguised himself as Zane...who are you?"
As the light rose up she reached her hands out to hold it.
"I am-"
THWACK
"Ooooow~!" Connar screamed and whimpered holding her head. When she came to she took a quick shoot around her. She was back in her Dorm Room. It seemed that as she slept she rose up and smacked her head against the bottom of the bunk above her, bringing her back into the waking world.
"Man...that was an intense dream..." She said out loud as she rubbed the stinging bump and glanced toward her dorm room window,"It's morning...but I feel like I didn't get any sleep at all." she sighed.
*Bang Bang Bang*
"Huh?" she blinked and looked toward the door,"Was someone knocking just now.
*BANG BANG BANG*
"Eeek!" She squealed and found herself thrown out of her own bed,"Okay okay, I'm coming!" she called out and stumbled to the door.
"Jaden!?" Connar blinked as a panicked brunette stood outside her door,"What gives?" she huffed,"Why are you banging on my door like a mad man!?"
"B-Because..." Jaden panted heaving heavily as he leaned on the wall,"We over slept...!" he said.
"Come again?" Connar couldn't quite understand as Jaden spoke through heaving breaths.
"WE'RE LATE!" he belted out.
"Ahhh Oh No!" She gasped and panicked, "NOW it makes sense!" she slammed the door on him . A lot of slams and fumbling could be heard from inside and Jaden chuckled as he heard her fall all over herself countless times. Within minutes she burst through the door and grabbed him by his wrist and started running ahead.
"What's that thing you always say, Jaden?" she panted," Let's make tracks!" she beamed and the two laughed at their own rotten luck.
This sudden waking brought peace to Connar, shaking away the chills that dream left in her. She was sure she'd have to face the mark it left on her eventually, but as of the day ahead, she first needed to face her next class.
