I don't own Thor or any of the Marvel characters. I only own Riona and my own original characters.

"Riona... Riona... wake up..."

"Wake up!"

Riona woke with a start, sunlight pouring in from the windows of her loft apartment windows, automatically blinding her.

"Ow..." She mumbled to herself, rubbing her gray colored eyes.

She looked over to her nightstand and saw that the clock read 8:35 a.m. She huffed, sitting up and scratching the back of her head. Her long black hair was free from its usual loose bun and reached down to her mid-back.

Riona rolled out of bed, groaning out as she stretched. After stretching, her hands rubbed her shoulders with her blood-red painted nails, absentmindedly tracing the tattoos that covered her shoulders.

Both shoulders were covered in a cluster of poppy flowers; Riona's favorite flower. She was always drawn to the color red.

Traveling back and forth between her room and bathroom, Riona started getting ready for the day with one simple task set out to complete for the day.

Riona settled with getting dressed in a red crop top t-shirt, denim jeans that had a few rips in them, her black lace-up combat boots, and lastly, she tied one of her plaid flannels around her waist and threw on her dark brown leather jacket.

Riona looked at her reflection in her full-length mirror. With a sigh she pulls her long hair back and puts it in a loose bun, revealing her undercut.

Heading into the kitchen, she grabbed an apple from the kitchen counter, her bag and headed out of her apartment, locking the door behind her.

Before heading out into the bustling streets, Riona pulled out a piece of paper from her bag.

177A Bleeker St.

Riona bit her lip in thought. She found this piece of paper in her bag about a week ago. She thought it was just some dumb kids or some sort of prank, so she threw it out the minute she found it.

It was strange though, Riona kept finding it back in her bag after every single time she threw it out.

Riona took a bite out of her apple and shrugged. "How bad can this be?" Riona asked herself.

Oh, I don't know. Could be walking into your untimely death? Riona's brain was sending her warning signals but her feet were already on the move as if to protest.

Riona ate her apple as she walked along the streets of New York, enjoying the wonderful profanities of cab drivers yelling at their passengers and vice versa.

Why did she even move to New York? Riona's gray eyes searched the buildings that she passed, looking for the address stated on the paper.

Riona came to a sudden halt, finding the building that she had been searching for. It was quite odd-looking for the area, she would think that small stores or even a deli occupied this space. How could she have missed this?

Riona threw her apple core away in a nearby trash can and walked up to the door. She knocked on the door twice and before she could a third time, she was suddenly inside the building.

Riona stumbled feeling like the earth beneath her shift.

"What the...?" Riona looked at her surroundings and saw what looked like artifacts laying about the room.

"Hello?" Riona called out, her voice echoing.

Her surroundings changed again, causing Riona to drop her bag and lean on the table that was now in front of her. She groaned letting her head sink onto the table.

"It takes some time getting used to." A voice said behind her.

Riona turned around in shock and tripped backward onto the floor.

The voice belonged to a woman wearing yellow robes with some sort of gold necklace around her neck. She smiled softly at Riona, putting out her hand.

Riona looked back and forth between the woman and her hand. Her own hand clasped hers and let her pull Riona up to her feet.

"Um..." Riona trailed off not knowing what to say.

She didn't stop smiling at Riona and folded her hands behind her back. "I see you finally decided to come. I took you long enough. I tried my best to persuade you."

Riona furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and showed the paper with the address on it to her. "You kept on putting this in my bag? How?" Riona asked.

Riona's feet shifted again and she stumbled once again, falling into a chair and a cup of tea in her hand where the piece of paper once was.

The woman sat across from her, drinking her own cup.

Riona kept her eyes trained on her, taking a sip of her own, the taste of green tea filling her mouth. Riona sighed in content, loving a good old cup of tea.

"This is amazing." Riona shyly said to the woman.

She smiled fondly at Riona's reaction. "I can see why you were chosen, Miss Molinari. You have a pure heart and a kind soul." She told her.

Riona licked her lips, the bitter after taste of the tea on her tongue. "Please, Miss Molinari is... was what people called my mother. Riona is perfectly fine, and chosen? I'm sorry, but I don't fully understand why I'm here or what has happened in the past few minutes."

Riona set her tea down to the side and played with her fingers.

"You are very special Riona." She waved her hand and more tea filled Riona'a cup.

Riona picked it up and looked at it in disbelief.

"There is a powerful group of beings called The Guardians. The Guardians are beings of unimaginable power, they gain the abilities of whomever they touch and comes from a dimension completely different from ours. The protectors of the worlds, and the keepers of balance." A book appeared in her hand out of nowhere and opened it to a page, handing it to Riona.

Riona took the book from her, looking down at the open pages. One page was illustrated with Riona standing with five other women that looked eerily similar to her, but if you looked at it long enough, each of them had their slight differences.

Riona shook her head. "I'm sorry, a 'dimension completely different from ours?' Are you not from this dimension?"

She nodded her head at me. "Yes, I am here in your dimension to bring you to mine."

Riona looked back down at the book, "Are these the other Guardians you speak of?" Riona asked the woman.

The woman nodded, "There are six of you… and you're questioning why you all look similar to each other?"

Riona nodded lightly, confused by that one little detail.

The woman smiled sadly, "Those are your sisters."

Silence filled the room as Riona slowly looked up, her eyes wide and her fingers lose their grip on the book, letting it fall to the floor with a thud.

Riona thickly swallowed, "What?" She barely whispered.

The woman sighed, "I know that this news might be confusing. But, your father created you and your sisters to be the six most powerful beings in the entire universe. Each of you, gifted in a specific area of magic."

Riona leaned forward, her elbows resting on her knees as she rings her hands, "Created? Not… born?"

"You and your sisters were created during the big bang. You were created from his vision, and he scattered all of you across alternate dimensions." The woman explained.

"I'm sorry, alternate dimensions? Each one of us is in our own separate dimensions?" Riona asked. All of this was too much. She had sisters, sisters that she never even knew about. She grew up without a father and now she's learning that her father created her from nothing? So did that mean her mother wasn't her actual mom?

She sighed. "Yes. I would explain more but it's a large amount of information to understand and to take in at once. I suggest that you figure it out in your own time. I wouldn't want you to go crazy at the thought of it."

Riona blinked at her letting her words sink in.

Riona huffed, running her fingers through her hair and leaned back into the chair. "Alternate dimensions, sisters... this seems so impossible."

"But it's not." She said to Riona.

"Okay, so, um, abilities? I'm able to basically copy other people's abilities just by touching them?" Riona asked.

She nodded, "You and your sisters have that gift, but your main power is the power over reality. You can shape what people see to your will, you can change reality itself. You are The Guardian of Reality."

"Reality…" Riona trailed off, but then her eyes widened realizing that she touched the woman's hand when she was helping her up. "Wait, I touched your hand! Does that mean...?"

She smiled at Riona's reaction. "Yes, you now can do anything I do. It will take practice to control and learn your new powers as you go along. It's not just the ability to copy another one's powers and control over reality. You have other abilities."

She continued explaining knowing she had Riona's full attention. "You can control the elements; the main four, the secondary elements, control over the weather, and even some of the minor elements that derive from the main ones. You are quite powerful even without copying another power."

Riona chuckled at her words. All of this just seemed like a dream. "This is just so much to take in. I feel like a heavy weight was placed on my shoulders."

"It's a lot of responsibility." She countered.

"I have so many questions..."

"And they will be answered." She reassured Riona.

Riona nodded, questions upon questions racing through her mind, so she just went with some easy ones first. "Where am I and who are you?"

"Sanctum Sanctorum and I am The Ancient One." She told Riona.

Riona's eyes widened at her title. It sounded just as impactful as her own new title. "That sounds...heavy." Riona laughed at her own choice of words.

She was just as amused as Riona was.

"I know you have many more questions, but unfortunately we do not have that much time. We must-``

''Wait a minute." Riona then realized who the hell she was talking to.

"You've got to be kidding me right now." Riona covered her face in her hands, and then looked at The Ancient One with wide eyes.

"You're the Sorcerer Supreme a-and you taught Doctor Strange!" Riona stood up in shock.

"You're a fictional character. You're not real. I'm going crazy!" Riona whispered to herself.

She chuckled at Riona's realization. "I know that in your dimension we are nothing but fictional characters that were made for your entertainment. But I assure you that I am real and you are needed. Come."

Riona's surroundings shifted once again, she was standing at the base of the stairs, falling backward onto the steps from the sudden change. "Can you please stop doing that? I think I'm going to be sick." Riona muttered, managing to stand up.

"I truly am sorry." She handed her the bag that Riona dropped.

Nodding and giving a 'thank you', Riona grabbed her bag which felt heavier than it did before.

The Ancient One made a series of hand gestures and opened what looked like a portal. "Once you step through, there is an apartment all set up for you. Everything you need to have a stable lifestyle is there for you and everything you own is there as well. If you shall need anything, please let me know." She explained.

Riona looked at the portal in hesitation. Did she really want to do this? Did she even have a choice in the matter? Leaving everything behind to take up the responsibility of being this all-powerful Guardian of Reality?

The Ancient One smiled softly at Riona as if to almost comfort her. "If you would like to say goodbye to anyone before you leave, we can wait a little longer."

Riona bit her lip at The Ancient One's words. "I can't refuse this can I? Give up being The Guardian?"

She shook her head at Riona.

Riona gave a nod. "Then no. I never really had any friends in the first place and... I don't have anyone left here. Since I can't give it up, I'll use it to help those who need it. Can't let it go to waste can I?" Riona smiled at her.

She tilted her head. "No, I guess not, Guardian of Reality."

Riona rolled her eyes playfully at her. The title was going to get old really quick. "Second to the last thing. What year will it be?"

The Ancient One gestured down to her right wrist, a watch now attached around it. "It will be the year 2008. The watch will tell you your dimensions time, and my dimensions. Time works differently there. A year in my dimension would only be a single week in yours. You will age slowly, it could be decades before you even age one year. It's slightly confusing without the watch, but it will help you keep track."

Riona nodded, "One more thing… Will I ever get to meet my sisters? Get to know them? Hell, will I ever meet my father?"

The Ancient One took a moment to answer, "I can not say yes or no to that question. Your father separated the six of you because if you were all brought together at the wrong time, everything that we know could cease to exist, even this dimension."

"Your sisters will be given the same explanation as you are getting now. One day, the six of you will come together and become something greater than anyone could ever imagine. But until then, you all must be kept apart. I can't tell you how long that may be, but it could be-"

"A long time." Riona finished, getting the point. It could be years upon years, even lifetimes before she could ever meet her sisters.

"I'm guessing the same goes for our father?" Riona asked.

"Your father likes to observe, he doesn't involve himself, he only watches. Though, he comes to those who need help at their lowest." The Ancient One explained.

Riona's grip on her bag tightened a little. There was a slight chance that she could never meet her sisters or father, and that terrified her the most.

She paused and moved her hand toward the portal and raised her other hand toward Riona. "I wish you luck."

Riona grasped her hand, but this time she felt the full extent of her abilities now coursing through her veins as well. "Thank you."

And with that, Riona let go of her hand and walked through the portal ready to begin her role as The Guardian of Reality.
