Chapter 6 – Out of the blue, One of the Saved and The First Job

.

Early in the morning, In the trial courtroom of the magic council, Midoriya stood up on the the trial stand with Makarov standing on top of a large wooden box next to him.

Midoriya had chosen to neaten up his appearance before he had attended the trial, as he'd gotten rid of the scraggly bits of facial hair that had built up from his time in isolation, he'd had his hair trimmed down so that although it was still fluffy, it was much shorter than his hairstyle he had before he'd come to this world.

He had also gotten a hold of some clothing as well as he was wearing a plain white t-shirt and a green hoodie with various random symbols written on it that was left open, and he had a pair of dark blue pants on.

But he had chosen to still wear his iron sole red boots instead of any regular footwear, as well as keeping a pair of his air force gloves in the pockets of his jacket.

He looked up at the various magic council members that were looking down at him and Makarov and he sweated, ("What are they going to say") he nervously thought as he quickly looked to each of the ten seat members of the magic council.

And although he looked at all of them with caution, when his eyes settled on Ultear, she gave him a sly wink and he became even more cautious as to what would happen.

Makarov simply looked up at each of the members with a look of indifference as the hearing started.

"So, you are a Fairy Tail wizard!?" Crawford Seam, the chairman questioned.

To which Midoriya hesitantly nodded in response, "Umm, yes sir" he responded.

And a massive groan was heard from over half of the council members, "And you do know of their reputation, right?" Crawford then questioned.

"Yes" Midoriya then answered without a hint of doubt in his voice.

The various members of the council then eyed him as he started to nervously fidget in response.

"Well, that is something that we cannot influence, but what we can have a say in, is what has happened in the short time you have been associated with the Fairy Tail Guild" Org then stated as each of the members nodded.

"Although there were unconfirmed reports of its location, it has been able to be discerned that Deliora was on Galuna island, and not only that, but it was also in a state of suspended animation and due to certain peoples actions, it was freed from said state" Michello then added.

"And you were the one to finally put an end to it" Ultear quickly stated. "Which is why you recompensed with the amount of jewel that had been designated as the creatures bounty".

Midoriya nodded at this, "Was it seriously okay to give me all of that?" he then questioned.

But Makarov shook his head at the boy, signalling him to remain quiet in regards to the large amount of money.

The council members watched this display and just chose to ignore Midoriya's question as they continued, "Now comes the question of what will happen because of the disbandment of the Phantom Lord guild, the forfeiture of Jose's title of wizard saint and the actions of Fairy Tail that led to these outcomes" Org said.

Very loud sighs could be heard coming from many of the members of the council as Crawford gave an answer to this question.

"It is with great judgement" he started to explain, "That we deem Fairy Tail the innocent party in this manner, and it was the actions of Phantom Lord that led to all of the events occurring".

Both Makarov and Midoriya became shocked at this statement, "Innocent" Makarov muttered as he slightly chuckled.

"But that does not end this meeting as we have now have a different problem regarding Izuku Midoriya, and to an extent, his guild master Makarov Dreyar" Crawford exclaimed as he looked down at the two of them.

"We require the role of wizard saint to be filled, and he appears to be a worthy candidate" Org said with a slight amount of disdain as he also looked down at the two of them, or more importantly, Midoriya.

And Midoriya froze in response, "Umm, umm, umm" he started to mutter as he failed to be able to form a complete sentence.

While Makarov just gave him a look of concern, "Don't accept it" Midoriya suddenly heard Esperanza tell him.

("Why?") he thought in response.

To which Esperanza answered, "They are simply trying to play it off as something they semi planned for, but for now fate deems this as an unnecessary tribulation" the mighty voice exclaimed.

And Midoriya sighed in response before straightening himself out and looking up at all of the council members, "I apologise, but I cannot accept that title" he started to say, "I am not somebody that is deserving of such a title" he said, hoping that his answer wouldn't lead to more strife.

Everybody but Siegrain, Yajima and Ultear responded with shock to his statement, "Why would you turn it down?" Crawford questioned.

But Midoriya just grinned slightly and shrugged, "I seriously don't think I am worthy of it" he said as he bowed slightly, "But thank you for the offer".

He then stood up straight and regained a neutral expression as he looked up at the members once again.

Makarov looked at the boy with shock also, ("He turned down such a position with barely a moment of hesitation, who is this boy") he thought as he also looked up at the council members.

Org started to rub his temples in frustration, but before he could say anything else, Siegrain spoke up.

"How about a compromise?" he said as he stood up from his seat and looked down at Midoriya, his eyes focusing on the eyes of the younger man.

"Siegrain, what are you talking about?" Michello questioned his fellow council member, while everybody else looked on in trepidation and Ultear just had a wiry smile on her face.

"What if we give this young man the credentials to be able to hunt down the rest of Zeref's demons" Siegrain started to explain.

"By making him an officially recognised s-class wizard?" Org questioned.

To which Midoriya gulped as he thought about the only s-class wizard he knew, that being Erza, and remembering her determination and skill made him about to turn down this offer as well.

But before he could say anything. Makarov put a hand on his shoulder and shook his head, "That's acceptable" Makarov said as an answer to the council.

And Siegrain and Ultear smirked at this, while Crawford slammed a gavel, "Fine then, from this moment on, Izuku Midoriya will be classified as an s-class wizard of Fairy Tail, and he will be given any assignments relating to the demons of Zeref." Craw ford exclaimed.

Midoriya just looked on in confusion as he and Makarov were led out of the chamber and into a very large and expansive hallway.

"Master Makarov, I honestly did not think I was deserving of that" he said as he looked down at the older man.

And Makarov sighed as he looked up at the younger man, "I understand you had your reasons for turning down the title of wizard saint, but I still think it would be acceptable that you be recognised as an s-class wizard if you are to be given such a dangerous task, especially if it will help you with finding some answers". He explained.

"But, I still think you should've at least had the chance to participate in the s-class trials" he said before shrugging, "But I guess we didn't have much of a choice".

"Well" Midoriya started to respond, "You don't have to tell anyone, I'm fine with being acknowledged as a regular member".

And Makarov chuckled at him, "You shouldn't downplay your capabilities, young man".

Midoriya gave him a quizzical look, before he sighed and looked out of the window of the hallway they were in and looked out of the large expanse of land.

"Excuse me" a voice then said from behind them, and they turned to see Yajima standing there, "Maki, wanna have a talk?" the short older man asked Makarov and Midoriya took this as his sign to leave.

"I might just start heading back to the guild" Midoriya said as he gave Makarov a wave and headed to the exit of the building.

Makarov waved him off "And I'll get back to you later on that information you asked about" he said to the young man.

And as Midoriya disappeared around a corner, he and Yajima sat down and started to talk, "What's with that boy?" Yajima questioned.

And Makarov gave him a smile, "He's like the rest, somebody who lost a lot and is just looking for a place to belong" he answered, and the two of them continued to converse about the rest of the events that had just occurred.

.

("Why were you also going to turn that down?") Esperanza questioned Midoriya as he made his way to the entrance of the building, and the young man sagged.

("I've only been in this world for around a month, and after turning down the position of a wizard saint, I still didn't even think I deserved to be an s-class wizard") he thought in response.

To which Esperanza growled, ("Think higher of yourself, you were given another chance at life, take every opportunity that you can") the being responded.

("Then why did you tell me to turn down the wizard saint position") Midoriya then questioned.

("It is just like I said, they wanted to deal with certain problems by making it look like they had some sort of plan, but I figured it would be funnier to watch the humans deal with repercussions on their own, heh heh") Esperanza explained.

And this made Midoriya stop in thought, ("'Watch the humans', are you not human or something?") he started to question as he held his head.

("No I am not, but as to what I actually am, that will have to be answered at a later date, as you currently have company") the voice stated, which made Midoriya stop holding his head down and look forward, and standing in front of him was Ultear.

("I will answer your question, but for now, I think you might need to deal with this") Esperanza instructed, before the voice disappeared once again.

Midoriya sighed at the cryptic nature of the voice in his head, but he then focused on the person in front of him.

"Umm, hi, was there something else you needed from me?" He asked her as he saw her just continue to stare at him.

"I would be careful if I were you" Ultear answered as she focused on him, "I still have my plans for you, so I don't want you dying from any demon".

And Midoriya gave her a questioning look in response to this, "Plans.." he mouthed.

But Ultear patted him on the cheek and passed by him, "You'll probably receive your first job in a couple of days when the paperwork is sorted out, and who knows, maybe I'll accompany you or something on it" she responded as she elegantly walked down the hall and around the corner.

"Well, that's not suspicious at all" he said with a sigh as he walked to the exit of the building and left it, "I guess I should start making my way back to the guild now".

He started his walk back to the train station, his mind still focused on the things he didn't know, and the fact that he was already in a position he wasn't prepared for, "But it still seems like there is something wrong with her" he muttered as he walked.

.

Ultear gave Siegrain a glare, "Was it appropriate to suggest such a thing?" she questioned him.

And Siegrain gave her a wild smile in response, "If that boy could deal with the demons of Zeref, then that just means they offer nothing to us, in terms of strength or the like" he stated.

Ultear nodded at him and went about her own business, ("If see him as a tool to further my own agenda, then why am I getting concerned about what happens to him, if anything happens, then that just means he wasn't strong enough") she thought as she thought about Midoriya.

("Izuku Midoriya, Izuku, I wonder where your true strength lies?") she questioned as she stared off into the distance.

And Siegrain failed to notice her as he went about his machinations, ("Responsive magic, now that could be useful") he thought as he looked at the information he had managed to gain on a certain criminal.

.

It didn't take long for Midoriya to get back to Magnolia as the train to there was just about to leave as he arrived at the station, so he arrived back in the town around the middle of the day.

"I wonder if I should go about finding a house to buy" he muttered as he started to walk through the town.

"IhavemorethanenoughmmoneytoaffordaproperhousesoitwouldbeprettyuselesstorentbutshouldIgetabigplaceorjustgetasmallapartement" he quickly spoke as he looked around for a place to find more information.

"I could probably ask somebody from the guild for more information" he stated as he made his way to the guild.

("And since Esperanza is not answering any of my questions, I have to assume he's asleep or something") he thought.

.

Midoriya soon arrived at the construction site that was the guild and as he entered the site, he heard Mirajane call to the other members.

"Everybody!" she called to get their attention, "From today on, we will start to take on jobs again, but this counter is just a temporary setup, so let's bring lots of work to the guild".

And as she said this, a large amount of the members all clambered to reach the request board first, each pushing and pulling at each other to try and get the best job.

Midoriya slightly sighed at this commotion, "I guess that I can't really do any normal jobs at the moment" he muttered as he immediately noticed Lucy sitting at the counter of the bar as well, and that she was talking to Mira.

He then saw her slump her head down on the bar and hold her rear in pain, ("I wonder what happened to her?") he absentmindedly thought as he made his way over to them.

"Just remembering makes my rear end throb in pain…" he heard Lucy whine as Mirajane gave her a look of sympathy, and he found himself completely lost.

"Huh" he said next to them, making Lucy quickly whip around to face Midoriya, "Oh, hey" she quickly said, but before he could respond, both Gray, Happy and Natsu made some interesting comments in relation to Lucy's rear end, which made her cringe, and Midoriya slightly chuckle.

"Welcome back man, how'd the meeting go, and where's the master?" Gray questioned, to which Midoriya gave him a depressed shrug.

"Well, the master stayed back to have a talk with somebody, Fairy Tail was deemed innocent in the whole Phantom Lord drama, and I was made an S-class wizard just so council could send me after the demons of Zeref" Midoriya quickly explain as he slumped and sighed.

"Wait, S-class wizard!" Mirajane, Lucy, Happy, Gray and Natsu all exclaimed, but before they could question Midoriya anymore, a table suddenly impacted with Natsu, crashing him into the ground.

And although the others wanted to question what was going on, their attention was suddenly directed to where the table had come from.

They immediately saw Erza growling at somebody, "Just you try to say that one more time!" she seethed as she glared at the blonde haired young man Midoriya could see now see.

"Erza!" Lucy exclaimed as she saw the angry expression on the other young woman's face.

And Midoriya noticed the maniac look on the blonde haired young man to which Erza was seething at.

"Let me spell it out so you really understand!" the man exclaimed, "This guild has no need for weaklings!".

"You cretin…" Erza responded.

"Those wimps from Phantom were able to show us up!" he explained, "I can hardly show my face anymore out of shame!".

"Laxus…, so he's back?" Happy questioned as he quickly popped up in front of Midoriya and looked towards Laxus.

"That creep!" Gray then added, "Coming back and mouthing off".

"That s-class wizard" Lucy exclaimed, "That Laxus".

"So he's on the same level as Erza" Midoriya exclaimed as he pulled a notebook out of his back pocket, quickly wrote some information in it, before putting it back in his pocket.

"But what's wrong with him?" he questioned the others.

Happy shivered and Gray gave an annoyed shrug as they all focused on the incident that was currently occurring.

Laxus then pointed to Levy and her team with an annoyed expression, "And to be more specific, the people I'm talking about are you".

"This all started when you got your butts handed to you by Gajeel, right?" he questioned them, making Team Shadow Gear look down in shame.

"You guys are pathetic!" He then yelled, which Levy appeared to respond to by nervously shaking, but not opening her eyes.

"How dare you…" Midoriya heard Lucy seethe, which got Laxus's attention.

"Well, well, if it isn't the chick whose the root cause of all of these problems" Laxus said in a condescending tone as he looked down at Lucy.

And Midoriya was about to snap back at him, but a slam on the bench behind him made him stop.

"LAXUS!" Mirajane yelled, getting the man's attention.

"It's all over now!" Mirajane said, "And from the start, nobody here was ever interested in playing the blame game!".

She looked angrily at Laxus as she put both her hands on the bench, "How many people have come after you for not taking part, not one, and that's because the master left orders not to!" she yelled.

And Laxus looked at her and everybody else maniacally, "Is that a surprise, that fight had nothing to do with me" he said mockingly, "But still…, If I had been there, we would have never been brought down like that!".

Midoriya soon realised that he was about to run at Laxus, and he saw the soon expression in Erza, but he was about to hold himself back from doing anything stupid.

And then Natsu jumped ahead of both him and Erza, "LAXUS, YOU CREEP!" Natsu yelled as he threw a punch at Laxus.

"Natsu" Erza said as she saw Natsu jump at Laxus.

Natsu then threw a punch at Laxus, but Midoriya could see confident look in Laxus's eyes as he instantly turned into lightning, disappearing away from Natsu, and reappearing behind him.

("Lightning magic, at an advanced level") Midoriya thought as he saw Natsu have to readjust himself to look at Laxus.

Natsu was about to throw another punch at Laxus, but Midoriya could tell it was going to go as bad as the last time, and he soon found himself running towards Laxus again with his mind going blank and losing his sense of self.

And as Natsu threw another punch, to which Laxus turned into Lightning to dodge again, Midoriya quickly threw a black whip, catching the lightning wizard's hand before he had fully turned into lightning, catching him off guard and allowing for him to be caught.

"What the hell?!" Laxus yelled as Midoriya skidded along the ground to stand in between him and Natsu.

"You may be able to turn into lightning, and probably have its reaction time, but only if you are prepared for an attack" 'Midoriya' exclaimed as he held a finger at Laxus, ready to flick it.

"Izuku, what are you doing" he heard Natsu say from behind him, "This is my fight".

But Midoriya ignored him as he sighed and stood up straight, but still having his finger at the ready, and his eyes glowing light green, "You were just going to tire yourself out Natsu".

Midoriya then heard crackling from behind him, and he turned away from Natsu to look at Laxus, and even he could feel the anger that Laxus was starting to express.

"And who the hell are you?!" Laxus questioned him, and Midoriya hesitantly gulped and blinked his eyes a couple of times as he'd realised what he'd just done.

"I just wanted to stop a fight, I wasn't really paying attention and may have gone a bit too far" he quickly said as put his hands up defensively and the green glow disappeared from his eyes, "Sorry".

But Laxus ignored him as he asked again, "I said, who the hell are you?!".

And this time Midoriya responded, "Oh sorry, I'm Izuku Midoriya, I'm new here" he said as he gave a quick bow to the still seething lightning wizard in front of him.

("Is that what happens if I give in to my impulses now?, I need to be careful about controlling myself, I still don't exactly know what happened) he then thought to himself about the sudden loss of impulse control he had quickly experienced.

He then stood up straight from the bow and faced Laxus, "I'm sorry that I probably overstood my place" he said, hoping to defuse the situation.

Laxus glared down at him with anger that was making Midoriya shiver and unable to really take in what was really happening, but then Lexus gritted his teeth and turned away from Midoriya.

And with waves of anger still coming off of him, Laxus started to laugh crazily, "A pipsqueak like you isn't even worth my time, but when I inherit this guild, I'm gonna flush out all of you weaklings" he said as he started to walk away, "And all of those who try to oppose me".

He started to make his way out of the site as he continued to yell, "This guild will be the strongest in history, it will be the most powerful ever" he exclaimed as he left, while continuing to maniacally laugh, "And nobody will ever think of every giving us any crap".

Laxus left, and Midoriya felt the strength in his legs leave as he fell onto his butt, "Umm, what just happened?" he questioned as he looked back to everybody else.

And everybody looked down to him in shock, "Midoriya, no I mean Izuku, what was that?" Erza questioned him as everybody just looked on.

She then helped him to a seat as gave them a confused look, "I think that's what happens when I let One for All take over my sense of self" he replied.

"Wait" Natsu responded, "What?".

"Yes, that is a good question" Erza said, "I wouldn't believe that you would've been that impulsive".

And Midoriya glumly sighed as he rested on the bench in front of him, "I'm not exactly proud of that side of myself" he stated.

He saw the other guildmembers all give him a couple more looks, and then they walked off, leaving just Erza, Natsu, Lucy, Happy and Gray still standing near him, and questioning him.

"So you didn't even know who that was?" Gray questioned, to which Midoriya shook his head.

"Should I?" he asked.

And Lucy added on to this, "Yeah, I mean who thinks they can make such empty threats like inheriting the guild".

The others then all looked of dejectedly at this statement, and both Lucy and Midoriya looked at them confused, "What'd she say?" he asked, needing to know who the person was that he had nearly just impulsively fought.

"Laxus is the master's grandson" Mirajane explained as she leaned an elbow on the bar counter.

To which both Lucy and Midoriya's eyes shot open, "WHAAATTTTT!" the exclaimed.

"Yeah, and it's also probable that when the master retires, Laxus will become the new Guild master" Mirajane added on.

And this made Midoriya pale, "I think I need to learn to control myself so I don't do something so stupid" he muttered as he hit his head in frustration on the counter, "But I have no idea why I lost control".

"Yeah dude, you just suddenly jumped into that fight, like I know you're strong, but I don't know who would've won that fight" Gray said.

"Yeah, and it was my fight you jumped into anyway" Natsu quickly yelled, bit he was silenced by Erza.

"Either way, you're lucky you managed to regain your senses before you did anything reckless" she then said.

And Midoriya gave her a nod, "Yeah".

"But you would've been fine" Happy said as he jumped into the air, "Because aren't you like an S-class wizard now".

Happy's statement made Midoriya pale and rest his head on the counter again, "I don't know what I am, and if it turns out I can now lose control of myself, I don't what I'm going to do".

But his exclamation was ignored as everybody could now focus on what Happy had just said, "S-class wizard, what!?" both Gray and Natsu quickly shouted as they shot forth into Midoriya's face.

"What do you mean, S-class!?" they both questioned him as he looked to the others that had heard Happy, that being Erza, Lucy and Mirajane.

"The council wants me to hunt down some of Zeref's demons for them, and one of the council members suggested the master make me S-class for some reason or another" Midoriya quickly spoke, with an extremely flustered expression.

"Wait, so gramps can just make someone an s-class wizard?" Natsu questioned, "Then I can just convince him to make me one" he stated before preparing to run off, but he was grabbed by Erza before he could gain any distance.

"It's not as simple as that Natsu" she explained as she looked at the depressed expression on Midoriya's face.

"Even though you didn't have to go through the same rite of passage as the other s-class members, if it was the master's decision, then we have no reason to question it at all" she stated, to which the others hesitantly agreed.

"But still" Lucy interjected, "Isn't it scary, having to actually hunt those monsters down?".

And Midoriya's face brightened as he smiled "I've been given a job to do, so I'll do it" he expressed.

"Well, that's pretty brave, but as one s-class to another, I would suggest being careful" Mirajane quickly added on before leaving to attend to another task.

And to this statement, Midoriya looked on confused, "Wait, Mira is also an s-class wizard?" he exclaimed as he pulled his notebook out again and wrote somethings down, before putting it away again.

"Well, it's really complicated" Erza muttered as she looked to Natsu who had a shadow over his eyes.

"It's fine, I don't need to know" Midoriya then quickly spluttered as he waved his hands around again.

He then stopped being defensive as he put a hand to his chin, "So if you guys have nothing on currently, would you be willing to help me find a house, since I don't really want to keep sleeping on other people's couches?" he asked them.

"Well, I'm fine with you sleeping on couch for a bit longer" Lucy added, hoping that she would be able to get another month of saving before having to pay for her rent.

"I don't really want to impose" Midoriya replied, but both Happy and Natsu appeared next to his shoulders.

"Yeah, and who would let us in otherwise" they stated, and this made Midoriya pale a slight bit more.

"You kind of break in anyway, I've just been paying for the door to be fixed" he muttered.

Erza then also appeared next Midoriya and Lucy, "Well if you currently don't have to worry about living accommodations, I suggest we focus on a more pressing matter?" she said as she looked to each of them.

"Do you feel like taking on a job?" she inquired, and everybody looked to her confused, especially Midoriya.

"Huh" they all replied.

"It would be Natsu, Izuku, Lucy, Gray and I" she exclaimed, to which everybody looked at her confused.

"Gray, Lucy, Natsu and I have been working together since the Eisenwald incident, and I don't think Izuku would mind joining us as well" she then said, and although Midoriya was about to ask her a couple more questions, she mouthed 'damage control' to him.

And although Midoriya was hesitant, he nodded at her, "So it will be just us five, six including Happy" Erza said.

"Wow" Lucy responded, Happy jumped into the air in joy, Gray and Natsu looked on in fear, and Midoriya allowed himself to have another smile.

A couple of more voices then exploded from behind them as other members of the guild spoke up in relation to this new team formation.

"The official formation of Fairy Tail's greatest team" Max exclaimed.

"I like it" Vijeteer yelled.

"Um, Lucy on the greatest team…" Jet whispered to the other members of team Shadow Gear.

"Well, if she brought out Aquarius, I doubt that I could win against that" Droy replied.

"Th-that's true, huh…" Levy then added on.

"You guys are huge!" Warren yelled last.

But Gray and Natsu ignored everybody else as they started to snarl at each other, "You mean with him…?" they both questioned.

And Erza gave them a stern look, "Any complaints?" she asked.

To which the other two quickly put on a façade of cheerfulness, "No!, We're overjoyed!" they responded.

"What kind of job do you have in mind?" Midoriya then questioned her, and in response Erza revealed a job flyer.

"This will be our first job here" she said as she showed them all the flyer, ""We're to go and take down a secret magic fraternity in the castle town of Lupinus".

Midoriya gave her a slightly concerned look in response, "I don't know when I will receive my first demon job" he asked implicatively.

But Natsu and Happy both grabbed him as they ran out of the Guild's construction site, "Woohoooo, let's go" everybody yelled as they ran out, and Midoriya decided from that moment to truly live a little.

.

(A couple of days later, and after all of them apologised for the various damages they had caused while on their job, Izuku Midoriya had yet to receive the task he had supposedly been given, and since everybody was currently busy with their own tasks, he was currently helping with some more of the reconstruction of the Fairy Tail guildhall).

"Just put it over there" Warren instructed him as he put a quite long piece of lumber in a pile.

"I never realised just how big guildhalls are meant to be" Midoriya remarked as he looked at the outer shell of the building that had already been completed.

"Yes, it is quite impressive, isn't it?" Makarov stated, making Midoriya look down at him.

"Oh, Master Makarov, I haven't seen you for a bit" he said.

And Makarov sighed at this, "Yes, well I was dealing with the damages that were caused by that team you are on" he said exasperated.

Midoriya became extremely embarrassed at this, "Sorry, I tried to deal with some of the damage, but I still had to fight a bit" he explained.

And Makarov shook his head at this, "It's fine my boy, I'm just glad I've got somebody that can mitigate some of the damage, and since you gave the guild such a large amount of money, I think we'll be fine, at least in regards to paying out damages, for a little while anyway" he explained.

But then Makarov looked up at him, "But I'm not exactly here for some chat, my boy" he said with a saddened expression as he looked at Midoriya.

"What's wrong?" the younger man questioned.

Makarov shook his head again in response, "Not here, come for a walk with me".

And although he was hesitant, Midoriya walked with the master, away from the guild and down the street, "When I said that I would get back to you on that information you requested, I managed to find out a lot more than I planned" Makarov explained as they walked.

"Wait, do you know of somebody else from my world?!" Midoriya enthusiastically questioned.

Makarov hesitantly nodded, "I did" he sombrely replied.

To which Midoriya became confused, "What do you mean, is something wrong, who's the person?" he then questioned.

And Makarov sighed as he stopped and looked up to the sky, "I knew I had heard of the phenomenon that had happened to you, it had also happened to one of Fairy Tail's founders" he stated.

"Fairy Tail's founders…" Midoriya hesitantly muttered, "But wasn't Fairy Tail founded nearly a century ago".

Makarov nodded at him, "Yes, it was, and of the five people who founded it, one was a young man in his teens" he stated as they made their way into the small graveyard of the town.

"Wait, howcanthatbe, doesthatmeanthatanybodythatwassenthereweresentatdifferenttimes?" Midoriya quickly muttered as he followed after Makarov.

"I don't have an answer to your question, but here we are" Makarov exclaimed with sorrow as he motioned to a gravestone with a large Fairy Tail mark on it.

And Midoriya looked at the gravestone, looking down to see who the person was that was buried there, and he started to become extremely pale as he read the name.

"Here lies Hitoshi Shinso, one of the founders of Fairy Tail, born X671, died X777, a beloved guildmember, father and friend" Makarov sombrely spoke out loud as he saw the aghast expression present on Midoriya's face.

"Shinso…" Midoriya quietly muttered as he fell to his knees and tears started to fall from his eyes.

He then caught some of the tears in his hand and looked at them with confusion, "Why am I crying, I'm sure Shinso lived his life the way he wanted" he continued to mutter.

Makarov put a hand on Midoriya's shoulder, "It's obvious you knew him" the older man stated.

Midoriya wiped the remaining tears from his eyes as he looked to Makarov, "He was somebody I knew, he was somebody who said he would become a much greater hero than anybody else" he stated as he stood up, but still kept looking down at the grave.

"He was still quite the dangerous fellow in his prime though" Makarov then said, reminiscing, "Besides the mask he could use to mimic other people's voices, and that piece of cloth he could use to bind people, his voice itself was his greatest weapon".

"I know, he could force anybody to do things if they replied to him" Midoriya responded, but Makarov gave him a confused look.

"Is that all he did when you knew him?" the older man asked, "Because when he was here, he could project his voice over a large area, increase the volume of his voice, make people give him only truthful answers, and even force them into an uncontrollable fit of laughter".

And Midoriya became surprised at this, "He shouldn't have been able to any of those things" he stated.

Makarov stroked his beard at this statement, "So something must have happened to him in between the end of your world and his existing in this one" he surmised.

"It must have" Midoriya added as he nodded in agreement.

"According to the information I found, he did leave a message for anybody from your original world" Makarov noted, "But I have yet to find the message".

Midoriya looked away from the grave and had a small smile on his face, "Don't rush yourself master, just tell me when you do find it" he said as he put his hands behind his head and looked up at the sky.

"He does have a daughter" Makarov also said which mad Midoriya look back down at him.

"But we don't really hear from her anymore" Makarov said with an exasperated sigh, "she said something about following in her father's footsteps and left the guild when he died".

Midoriya nodded at him, and then put his hands in the pockets of his hoodie, "I'm just happy that he had the same chance as I did, and who knows, maybe I'll run into his daughter" he exclaimed as he turned to look away from the graveyard and to Magnolia.

"Are you sure that you're alright, you know if anything is bothering you about any of this it's fine to talk" Makarov inquired, but Midoriya shook his head lazily in response.

"I'm just gonna keep living my life, after all, only him, me and one other person were given such a chance, and I might as well live with no regrets, you know" Midoriya explained as he started to walk away.

"But if you do find that message, please tell me" he said before walking back to the town.

And Makarov watched as he walked off, "Are you putting on a face, lying to yourself or is it something else?" he muttered as he looked away from where Midoriya once was.

"Hitoshi, I never doubted you for a moment, whenever you spoke about being from another world, but I still think that the event that saved you and young Izuku has yet to show all of its repercussions" Makarov softly spoke as he put his hand on top of the grave, and then turning around to leave the graveyard as well.

"And I hope that young Midoriya doesn't have to suffer anymore" he muttered as he made his way back to the town.

.

Midoriya quietly and slowly made his way back the guild, and although he was still walking, his mind was elsewhere, ("Shinsou was one of the three, as was I, but he arrived many years before me, I wonder what he experienced") he thought.

("It's obvious that he had a life and he even was at the founding of Fairy Tail, I wonder how he would've felt if he'd lived just a bit longer and run into me") he thought as he kicked a pebble along the path.

Midoriya stopped for a second, expecting something to happen, and then he kept walking, ("Strange, I thought it felt like Esperanza was going to say something") he quizzically thought as he continued to slowly walk, kicking the pebble into the waterway.

"Guess he's busy or something?" Midoriya questioned.

He then held his head up straight, looking forward on the path he was walking, "But if Shinsou got to life his life in this world, then now it's my turn" he quietly declared as he made his way to the guild, but as he arrived at the construction site, he was met with a familiar face.

Ultear stood at the front of the guild, with Mirajane beside her and a couple of the older man peering from around a corner, "Took you long enough to show up" she stated.

"But, you, they, soon, said, now" Midoriya started to splutter as he wasn't prepared to see her again, "Wait, are you actually accompanying me?".

And Ultear nodded, "Yes, so let's go, I want this to be over and done with" she stated coldly.

Midoriya shivered at her statement and then looked to Mira, "Master informed me of your situation, when he gets back I'll tell him" she said with a smile as Midoriya felt something grab his hand.

And he turned to see Ultear dragging him away with quite the effortless movement, "You'll be surprised at what you've got to face first" she said as tiny sign of a sadistic grin appeared on her lips.

"This is not going to be good…" Midoriya said as he gulped and was dragged out of the town by Ultear.

Mirajane watched as they left, and she sighed, "That council woman was scary" she said as she turned to see a couple of the men, including Macao leering over the wall, and watching as Ultear and Midoriya left.

"I think it's time for you guys to get back to work, don't you agree?" she asked with an extremely pleasant smile on her face, to which each of the men shuddered and quickly ran back to help with the rebuilding.

"I hope nothing bad happens" she quietly said as she walked off to do her own tasks.

.

Midoriya followed silently behind Ultear as they reached a horse and cart, and it appeared that they had a driver for said vehicle as well.

"It will take us a day to reach the ruins where a certain demon has been located" Ultear explained as she climbed into the back of the car, and motioning for Midoriya to do the same.

And although he was still hesitant, the younger man climbed into the cart sitting on the seat facing directly at Ultear.

She then motioned for the driver to start, to which he did, and they set off.

Midoriya awkwardly looked around, trying not to face Ultear as they made their way through the country.

"You seem to be high strung, why might that be?" the woman asked, which made Midoriya face her direction, but not look her in the eye.

"Well, I still don't exactly know what it is that I'm meant to exactly do…" he quietly muttered.

And Ultear chuckled at this, "All you've got to do is destroy the demon, and I'll handle the rest" she explained with a smile.

Midoriya then looked her in the eyes, "What is it you want from me?" he quietly asked her, just enough so that the driver didn't hear him.

Ultear grinned at him, "I would say you are one of my plans" she whispered back, which made Midoriya blink a couple of times in confusion.

"How can I be one of your plans?" he asked, continuing to keep quiet, knowing that Ultear wanted whatever was said to be kept a secret.

"I have a couple of plans in the works, but if all of those fail, I could always rely on my plan that involves you, and your ability" she replied.

Midoriya became slightly defensive at this, "You know everything, so why would I give you it?!" he questioned, his voice becoming slightly louder.

But Ultear remained quiet in her speech, "Even if you could give your ability to someone from this world, the plan I devised did not involve such aa thing" she stated.

And Midoriya looked at her confused again, "Then why?" he questioned, "Why make sure I don't tell anybody about you, why keep any eye on me?"

Ultear held a finger up to her lips in response, "I can't answer those questions yet as I'm yet to make certain decisions" she explained ash became silent.

And although he wanted to question her further, Midoriya could feel her magical presence inclining him to not press any further on the topic.

"Okay, so a different question?" he asked, "Is there a reason why you wanted to accompany me on this specific job?".

Ultear shrugged in response to this, "The council wasn't able to gain a lot of information on this demon, but what they could find out, was that it would force it's victims to relive their most painful experiences" she said with a creepy smile.

"Wait!" Midoriya responded, "So you want me to be forced to relive my most painful memories when facing this thing?".

But Ultear shook her head, "I'm not that sadistic, all I want is to see you take it on before it can even do such a thing to you" she stated.

And Midoriya let out a small sigh of relief, "So you just want to see how efficient I am?" he asked.

To which Ultear shrugged again, "Maybe it's that, maybe it's something else…." She replied, "You'll just have to wait and see".

Midoriya gulped at this as they both sat in silence for the rest of the trip, with only his thoughts and the passing scenery to pass the time.

("I seriously don't understand what is going on here") he despairingly thought.

And he got a response this time, ("She is quite the mystery, isn't she?") Esperanza's voice replied, before going silent again.

And Midoriya just sighed as he realised the being that was rooming in his mind was just as predictable as the woman he was currently travelling with, ("I don't know when I'll find out what Ultear's deal is, but at least with Esperanza, I can question him the next time we have a proper conversation") he thought.

He then laid back against the side of the cart, looking at Ultear, who was just looking at the crystal ball in her hand without breaking concentration, and then he looked up to the blue and clear sky.

"I'm still grateful to be alive" he whispered with a smile as he watched some clouds drift past him.

.

They soon arrived on the on the very edge of the ruins of the building they were supposed to investigate, so the driver dropped them off and said that he would park his cart a distance away so that he wouldn't have to deal with any problems.

And so, Midoriya and Ultear entered the ruins, and almost immediately a sense of dread crept into the back of Midoriya's mind as he saw remnants of the black smoke like stuff he had also seen above Deliora, making him shudder.

"Getting a bit scared, are we?" Ultear then questioned him, but he shook his head and quickly focused on walking forward.

("There is a demon here, good luck") Esperanza quickly said, to which Midoriya nodded the slightest amount in recognition.

They managed to find an entrance to the dilapidated building that was located in the centre of the ruins, and they surreptitiously walked into it.

Soon they found two sets of stairs, one leading down into inky darkness, and another, leading to the extremely damaged top part of the building.

But Ultear didn't say anything as she gestured for Midoriya to make a decision.

And he put a closed fist to his chin as he looked to the staircase leading down into the darkness, "It is definitely down there" he said with a dry tone.

Ultear nodded at him, pulled a torch out of requip space, and then put her hand forward, motioning for him to lead the way into lower level of the building.

"So are you going to say anything, or am I going to be the only one talking?" Midoriya quietly asked her as they made their way down the stairs.

"Well" Ultear quietly answered, "I am only here as a supervisor, if you manage to survive this, then you will be able to recruit any two other legal mages to accompany you on these jobs".

"Oh, okay" Midoriya said.

They eventually made their way down to the bottom of the staircase, and although it was extremely dark, and a very dank smell was present, nothing exactly stood out to either of them.

"I wonder if we can even see it" Midoriya questioned as he turned to look at Ultear, "What do you think…".

And as Midoriya started to ask her his question, he started to feel faint, and he started to fall to the ground, but he did notice the same was happening to Ultear, and soon enough the darkness invaded his vision leading to him collapsing to the ground.

.

Midoriya soon regain his sense of sight, but he found himself in an unfamiliar location.

He found himself in a tower like structure, and he was standing on a platform to the side of the centre, and suspended in the centre, he saw a young girl.

She was being held in place by various cables, and it appeared that the cables were continuing to discharge some kind of energy into the girl, making her scream out in pain.

And almost instinctively, Midoriya tried to jumped towards the girl, but as he reached her, he found himself going straight through her and crashing down onto a platform on the other side.

"What was that?" he questioned as he heard the girl continue to scream, and although he knew it was useless, he tried to jump at her again, but this time he found himself suddenly landing in a new location.

He was in a snowy tundra and to his side, he saw the small girl, crying and smashing her hands on the ground.

"What's going on?" he questioned, hoping that maybe even Esperanza could give him an answer, but when he was met with silence, he just became confused.

"She moved on, she doesn't want me, she didn't need me" the girl screamed as she continued to smash her hands on the ground.

Midoriya was about to reach out at the girl, but he found himself suddenly in a new location, wherein he was situated on the same platform from before, and in the centre of the tower again was the girl, and she was once again suspended by the cables.

And although it appeared like the energy was going into her again, she was not displaying any signs of pain, as the only thing that Midoriya could determine from her expression was that she was extremely determined.

Midoriya once again felt the urge to try and get the girl down, and even though he knew it was pretty useless to try, he jumped into the air at the girl again.

But this time, he crashed through her and came crashing down onto what looked like the destroyed ruins of the building he had just been in.

"Urtear, how dare you…" Midoriya quickly heard, making him tun around to see the young girl standing above the heavily damaged body of somebody that looked like some kind of scientist.

"The fact that I returned of my own accord should've made you already hesitant, but all of you were blinded by egos" the girl said as slammed her foot into the scientist's head, and although it didn't crush it, it was obvious that this had finished the person off.

Midoriya held his hands to his mouth as he watched this display, his body being unable to properly process what had just happened, but he kept his eyes focused on the girl as walked away from the ruins.

"And my name is Ultear Malkovich" the girl exclaimed as she walked into the distance.

And although he tried to follow after her, Midoriya was suddenly transported to a new area, a blank white space.

"That was Ultear" he managed to spurt out as he remembered the destruction and chaos she had managed to cause, but he also remembered everything that had happened to her prior to that event.

He held his stomach and shook as he tried to process everything that he had just seen.

"WHAT IS GOING ON!" he screamed out into the blank white space, and after a couple seconds of this, he was met with an answer.

"Humans are such weak creatures, you start off as the most pathetic being, and even when you are supposed to be at your strongest, you aren't." the voice exclaimed.

And Midoriya realised what it was talking about, "Your talking about what I just saw, aren't you?" he questioned.

"Whether or not that was actually Ultear's past, doesn't mean you get to decide how strong she is!" he declared as he scanned around the empty space.

"You saw only the slightest portion of the things that human woman has done, yet you choose to defend her?" the voice questioned, "I thought that you humans were meant to seethe at the sight of one of your kind killing another?"

Midoriya hesitated at this question, "You're right, usually that should be the case, but that shouldn't be how it is" he muttered as he stared at the ground.

"And why would that be so, you pathetic looking mortal?" the voice then questioned.

"Because" Midoriya started to say as green sparks started to come off of him, "Nothing in life is black and white, everybody should be saved".

He then glared up into the empty space, "Even you demons" he declared, "You are living creatures as well, aren't you?"

There was a silence, but then a small laugh started to echo throughout the space, "You've got to be kidding me, right?" the voice questioned, "I mean, you can't be that deluded into thinking you can do such a thing".

Midoriya started to focus on a certain are of the white space as he continued to talk, "Even though I was given the task of taking out you demons, it appears that some of you actually have sense of self, and I couldn't bring myself to kill something like that, unless I had no other choice" he stated.

"Oh yeah" the voice replied, "And what would make such a pitiful human think that a demon like me would want any kind of mercy from you?"

Midoriya focused on an exact spot in the space as kept the conversation going, "Well, if you don't really care what I do, can I at least ask you a question?".

"And what would that question be?" the voice asked, "I'll humour you with the answer to one question before I end your life".

"What's that black cloud like stuff I saw as I entered the ruins?" Midoriya questioned.

But he was met with no response, instead he started to feel intense pain throughout his body.

"Kill, Kill, Kill, REPRAT WILL PROTECT THE MASTER" the voice exclaimed as the white space started to break apart.

And Midoriya sighed at this, "I shouldn't have expected to get my answer with the first demon I asked" he exclaimed as he doubled over in pain again.

"KILL, KILL, KILL, PROTECT" the demon now known as Reprat exclaimed.

Midoriya struggled to lift his left hand as he aimed his finger towards the spot he had focused on before, "I'm sorry" he muttered.

"2% DELAWARE SMASH" He yelled as he flicked his finger, sending an extreme amount of condensed air shooting towards the spot.

And within an instant, the white space exploded, making Midoriya shoot his eyes open.

He then saw in front of him was a humanoid like being, that was comprised of some kind of white material, and it appeared that he had managed to get a close enough shot that he had obliterated all of its lower body.

He also notice Ultear was still unconscious on the ground next to him, but before he could see to her, he heard a splutter as a sound escape the 'mouth' of the demon.

"Demon hunter" Reprat stated, which made Midoriya slightly shudder at the way the creature stated such a title.

"Beware the smoke, it is not of Zeref" it then stated, before the remains of its body became still and silent.

Midoriya just looked at the dead body of the creature he had just slain, and he looked at it for what looked like a couple of minutes, his body not being able to properly conceive what had just happened.

("It is okay, my young ally") Esperanza's voice exclaimed through his mind, allowing him to regain control of his faculties, ("You tried to give such a creature another chance at life, but you had to do what was necessary").

Esperanza's voice then faded again as Midoriya regained a sense of his surroundings, he blinked a couple of times, looked around a lot and then focused on Ultear.

He stopped before he approached her though, ("She killed so many people") he thought as he looked at her with so much confusion that his head was starting to hurt.

("But it isn't my choice to influence how she lives her life") he decided as he got closer to her, ("But it's still so sad").

He started to lightly push her arm in an attempt to wake her up, ("I can't tell her what I saw, because if I saw that, then what if she saw…") he thought, but he was then broken out of said train of thought as the person in question started to stir from her slumber.

"What creature dared to make me experience such a thing" the woman exclaimed as she became fully conscious and scanned her surroundings.

And Midoriya answered her by pointing behind himself to the thing that he had just killed, "That" he sombrely stated.

Ultear saw what remained of the creature and after confirming it to be dead, she gave Midoriya a threatening glare, "Whatever you saw, you are never to speak of it, is that understood!" she threatened him.

To which the young man hastily nodded, just wanting the whole ordeal to be over with.

"Then we are done here" Ultear exclaimed as she stood up, kicked the remains of the demon, and walked to the staircase.

But Midoriya didn't immediately follow after her, he instead just looked down at Reprat's remains with a large swell of pity.

"I'm sorry" he muttered as he turned and followed after Ultear, who had already disappeared up the staircase, "It was a living thing, it had a sense of self, who would create such a thing just to be destructive".

He soon emerged out of the staircase on to the ground level of the remains of the building and he could see that Ultear was already on her way back to the spot that the driver had moved the cart to.

So he quickly ran after her, but not without noticing the remnants of the black smoke from before disappearing into nothingness, ("I wonder how much of what that demon did was of its own volition") he thought as he caught up to Ultear.

"Well then, I can confirm that you are capable of undertaking such a task without supervision" she declared as they walked to the cart, which was now in their vision.

"But I don't even know what really happened back there" Midoriya awkwardly spluttered.

But Ultear held a hand up in front of him, signalling him to stop talking, "You had a job to do, you did it, and that's all that mattered" she declared as they saw the driver waving at them.

She then grabbed him by the shoulder and started to whisper in his ear before they got there, "I mean it, if you ever mention the things you might've seen in there, you will be ended" she stated.

They both started to climb into the cart as Midoriya now became extremely cautious of the woman that sat before him.

And before he could even respond with a confirmation, she then let her face fall, "And I will do you the same favour by not mentioning anything as well" she said.

"Wait, what do you mean?" Midoriya quickly questioned, but Ultear remained silent from then on, and the only action she performed was signalling the driver to take them back to Magnolia.

("So she did see something, and it's probable that it related to me, I wonder what it was") he thought over and over again as they made their way back.

.

They eventually made their way back to Magnolia, and it was probably the most awkward trip that Midoriya had ever experienced in his life.

"We're here" the driver announced, signalling that the young man was back at his new home.

Midoriya glanced to Ultear, and although it looked like she wasn't going to say anything she quickly grabbed his arm and looked him in the eye.

"Be careful at the tower" she whispered, before Midoriya felt inclined to hop out of the cart and watch as it started to leave.

"You will probably receive you payment for this job in the next couple of days, and since you have no current address, it will probably be delivered to your guild" Ultear stated as she looked out of the cart as it started to leave.

"Okay" Midoriya replied as he nodded, "And Ultear…".

The woman looked at him with confusion as he continued to talk, "We decide our own path, don't throw away everything" he said before walking away with a smile on his face.

Ultear watched as he walked away and she settled into the seat on the cart as she started to slightly whimper, "Who does he think I am?" she questioned as a couple of tears fell from her eyes, "And how could someone be willing to continue to try, no matter what life threw at them?".

.

"Be careful at the tower" Midoriya repeatedly mumbled as he made his way back to the guild, "That doesn't sound good".

He soon saw the construction site that was the guild, and upon seeing Gray fighting with Natsu, Lucy strangling Happy and Erza threatening a couple members of the guild, he chose to forget for the time being about Ultear's warning.

"Oh hey, you're back" Natsu called out as he and Gray continued to throw a couple of punches at each other.

"Yeah, it was quite the job" Midoriya responded as he walked up to them, but before he could answer any of their questions, Erza came and slung an arm around his shoulders.

"Well, guess what, now that you're back?" she asked him, with a smile on her face as everybody else grinned.

"What?" he questioned, with both anticipation, but also hesitation.

"Loke was actually the celestial spirit Leo, and he gave us all tickets to Akane resort, all six of us" Happy called out as he jumped into the air and stood on top of Natsu's head.

"Wait, even me?" Midoriya asked as he also tried to process the information about the guildmember he hadn't really met actually being a celestial spirit.

"Of course" Erza said as she took her arm away, "Why would you even think to count yourself out?".

And Midoriya yawned the slightest bit at this, "Well, I'm kind of tired…" he said as he held his hand from where it still hurt from launching his attack the day before, but he was then interrupted by Happy landing on his head and Natsu grabbing his shoulder.

"Come on, lets go on a vacation" the young dragon slayer exclaimed.

"Aye sir" Happy responded as everybody followed after them with their stuff packed.

And quickly before leaving, Midoriya picked up a couple of new clothes for the trip, "Well I can probably relax when I get there" he mumbled as he smiled and ran alongside Natsu.

But it would become evident that the warning that Midoriya received would soon enough come to fruition.

So, yeah, a lot of stuff happened in this chapter, and to be quite honest, I didn't expect to put so much in a single chapter, but after looking at the outline I had kind of planned, I figured I need to put a couple of things before the tower of heaven and the battle of Fairy Tail occurred, so sorry if there is a bit too much written here.

But, yeah, Shinsou was one of the saved people, and we will probably come back to that either just before the battle of Fairy Tail or just after it, depending on how much I am able to write.

And, also, I am really sorry for not making this chapter the Tower of Heaven, but I didn't want to write even more words than I already have for this chapter, so the next chapter will probably cover the entirety of it.

And all questions and feedback are welcomed for this chapter.

Peace Out.
