End of a Tradition
Anger clouded Alicia's mind as she stormed out of the Leaky Caldron and out into the alley, a dark angry growl came out of her lips while she glared at any happy couple in love as they walked by.
'How dare he, how dare that man think he has some kind of right to walk up to my mum and sweep her off of her feet!' Alicia thought as she walked down the street ignoring everyone else 'Everything was just fine when it was mum and I was left alone to do our own thing. What right does he have to come along and ruin our family tradition just so he could take mum to a water park.'
Letting out a growl of anger to try and get out some of her anger Alicia stomped the last few steps down the path into the Quality Quidditch supplies shop. Blind due to her anger aimed at her mother's newest husband Alicia never noticed a pair of eyes carefully watching her.
Coming to the door of her favourite shop Alicia paused, took a deep breath to try and calm herself down and pushed open the shop door allowing the familiar sounds, sights and wonders to fill her senses. As she felt herself finally calming down from the news that she had just received a familiar voice shouted her name only for a pair of strong arms to playfully wrap around her.
"Alicia! What are you doing here?" Oliver Wood asked as he pulled Alicia close to him and nuzzled her neck, "I thought that you and your mum always went away to do that family tradition this time of year."
"Yes, well normally you would be right," Alicia replied as she pushed Oliver away from her, "And get away from me you prick, we are friends and we are going to stay friends."
Oliver pouted as he shot Alicia a puppy dog eyed look only for Alicia to fold her arms and glare at him angrily.
"Is it supposed to look like that?" Alicia asked as she gave Oliver a pointed look.
"What do you mean?" Oliver asked in confusion as he shot Alicia a worried look, "Are you alright Alicia? Normally you would be laughing and joking with me. We both know that you have a boyfriend but-"
"Viktor has finally won my mother's approval through she will need a bit more time to get to know him before we even think of marriage," Alicia replied as she ran a hand through her hair, her mind travelled back to her mother's new boyfriend only to find that it didn't matter how much she looked; she just could not see it, she could not see what her mother saw in the man, "My mum has a new boyfriend and it is starting to become serious, so serious in fact that she has decided to end our family tradition so she can spend time with her precious boyfriend!"
Oliver winced in pity at Alicia's words, "I'm sorry Alicia, but I might have something good to tell you that will cheer you up."
"My mum broke up with her boyfriend?" Alicia asked as she folded her arms.
"No...but I was going to met up with someone, we are both Quidditch lovers so we thought why not get to know each other?" Oliver said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"I am sorry Oliver, I did not know that you were going to be meeting up with someone," Alicia said as she stepped away from the shop door allowing Oliver to exit the shop, "I guess I will see you around at Hogwarts th-"
"What are you talking about?" Oliver asked as he reached out and grabbed Alicia's hand, "Have you forgotten that I invited you along?"
"I do not need or want pity," Alicia snapped out as she glared darkly at Oliver, "Besides I-"
"Would like to send the day with Viktor Krum, your boyfriend, and Oliver Wood, your friend, walking around Diagon Alley and showing your mum that you are quite capable of making a new tradition of your own with Viktor," Oliver replied with a cheeky grin which only grew in size at Alicia's gasp, "It finally sunk in huh?"
"I thought Viktor was not going to be able to get away from work for at least three more months, let alone come to England," Alicia gasped out in surprise and shock, "W-What is he doing in England? I do not remember him mentioning anything about any Quidditch games in England."
"He does not have any Quidditch games in England but he does have a very special person he has been wanting to visit and make new traditions with for a while now," Oliver replied easily, "Now come on, we do not want to keep him waiting now do we?"
In too much shock to responded Alicia allowed herself to be dragged out of the Quidditch shop and back out onto the busy street. As Oliver dragged her after him Alicia scanned the area with a new level of alertness, her mind clearer and calmer than before when she was clouded with anger.
"Where are you going Oliver?" Alicia asked as they went pass the normal ice-cream parlour that they went too.
"Both Viktor and I agreed that we need somewhere quiet and peaceful without a lot of people about to bother us," Oliver replied as he turned and took one of the small paths that lead from the main area of Diagon Alley to a small side alley that was filled to the brim with even more shops. "So we got together and found this little ice-cream parlour, it has some really interesting flavours! Like dinosaur meat flavour or like dragon fire flavour."
The thought of sharing an ice cream with Victor made Alicia go bright red, her heart pounded in her chest as the image of her and Viktor sitting in front of an ice cream parlour sharing a romantic ice crossed their minds. A silly little smile appeared on her face as Alicia allowed Oliver to drag her along towards the ice cream parlour. Thoughts of different flavour ice creams that they could share floated about inside of her mind.
'I wonder if he is a fan of strawberry because if he is than we will be able to share the lovers strawberry romantic surprise' Alicia thought as she let out a long love sick sigh followed by giggles which caused Oliver to shot her a odd look through Alicia ignored him 'Or maybe I should be naughty and ask for the couples black leather surprise with the extra special 'treat' at the end but...maybe that is not just a good idea because I do not want to scare Viktor away from me.'
"What is going through your mind?" Oliver asked with a frown on his face, his words caused Alicia to snap out of her thoughts and blush bright neon red, "You keep on giggling and blushing...are you thinking of Viktor again?"
"What? I am not! Whatever gave you that idea?" Alicia asked innocently as she did her best to hide the bright red blush that had appeared on her face as fast as lightening hitting the earth struck.
"You were, weren't you?" Oliver asked, his frown turned into a sly look, "You were thinking about those famous couple and lover special ice cream that everyone knows how to make and every single shop ice cream parlour sells weren't you?"
"No I wasn't, not me," Alicia replied quickly, too quickly, as she tried to mask the truth with an innocent look on her face through by the knowing expression that Oliver was wearing she had a feeling that she had not done a very good job, "What? I was not!"
"Right," Oliver drawled out as he shot Alicia a smug look, "You just keep on telling yourself that even though we all know the truth."
"Oliver!"
Oliver simply gave Alicia a playful perverted grin, "Was you thinking of sharing that black leather ice cream surprise with the secret surprise at the end that no one will tell anyone about but everyone knows what it is if they have had it?"
"No, I was thinking about the different flavour ice creams and how they all have funny names," Alicia answered defensively as she tried to cover up her embarrassment, "I wonder if they have that flavour that was rated as the number one weirdest ice cream flavour in the Wizarding world, Dumbledore's lemon drop underwear flavour."
Oliver snorted and shook his head, "I still do not know how they came up with that name or how they know what the Headmaster's underwear tastes likes."
"I do not even want to start trying to work out how they know what the Headmaster's underwear tastes like or anything that they went through to find out," Alicia replied with a shudder, "But it cannot be as bad as the wart flavoured ice cream."
"Well if you are so interested about those flavour ice creams go ahead but I think I will stick with the traditional ice cream flavours like vanilla, mint, fudge, chocolate, and bubblegum flavours," Oliver replied with a determined nod of his head, "The only flavour ice cream that I might try one day that is not one of those ice cream flavours is that special one that only people who are getting married or is married can have. I heard that the ice cream tastes like the other person's lover and helps to start some bedroom fun."
"I like the sound of that, I wonder if Viktor would be willing to try some of it with me if we start together long enough and if we end up getting married," Alicia said as a thoughtful but dreamy expression appeared on her face, "How much farther is this ice cream parlour Oliver?"
"Sorry Alicia, I know that you cannot wait to see your beloved Viktor again after all this time a part but the ice cream parlour is right at the back of the side alley. Like I mentioned a moment ago, Viktor and I agreed to meet up in a quiet place without having to worry about anyone wanting autographs or the press," Oliver said with a roll of his eyes as he gave Alicia a knowing look, "Do not worry, I will get you to your beloved Viktor in no time at all. For now through you will just have to hang on as we are almost there. If you want anymore motivation beyond the fact that you will get to see Viktor...what do you two normally do when almost no one is around?"
At Oliver's words Alicia felt her whole body go bright red in embarrassment through lust and washed through her body at the same time. Alicia blushed madly and shot Oliver a dark glare which only had the Keeper laughing.
"Aw, do not be like that Alicia, I am sure that when you and Viktor meet he will be the happiest man on this planet and shower you with love and attention," Oliver said kindly as he found himself having to prevent himself from telling Alicia Viktor's secret, "Besides I am sure that you both will be together for a very long time, I have seen the way that you two act around each other and how you treat each other and I have not seen a perfect match in a long time."
"Thank you Oliver," Alicia replied, a small smile on her face, "I truly love Viktor and I do not want to lose him. Maybe one day in the distant future we can get married but for now I think it would be good if we just pushed all of this aside and found Viktor? I am sure he is wondering where you have gotten to."
Oliver simply nodded his head in agreement, and bit the inside of his check to stop himself from telling Alicia all about the little black ring box that Viktor had picked up from the jewellers that morning.
End.
