Dimitri looked at his hand and after a moment of hesitation, he shook it.
The next day, the green Twi'lek, that was their species name, medic named Tela had given him the okay to get out of bed. He was about to grab his PPSh-41 when she stopped him."I don't think you'll be needing that." She said. Dimitri looked at her confused. Cham Syndulla said, in order to prove himself, he would join them tomorrow in a battle against a group called the Separatists."You'll need something like this." She opened a crate and brought out an odd, long weapon. She offered it to him.
"What is it?" He asked, grabbing it from her.
"A DC-15 blaster rifle." She explained."I found it off of a dead clone trooper."
Dimitri raised an eyebrow."Clone...clone trooper?" He tried saying, as if he were a child.
Tela looked at him in surprise."What planet are your from?" She asked. She took back the blaster and pointed it at the wall. Dimitri jumped in the air as two lasers hit the wall.
"What the?!" He yelled in shock. He looked at the gun in surprise."How could such a weapon do that?" He asked. It reminded him of the stories he had heard about the Nazi's creating such things but he had doubted the rumors.
Tela sighed."It seems I have a lot to teach you."
For the past two hours, Dimitri had been practicing with the blaster rifle, his hands warm from it. He quickly shot down another red target."You shoot very well," Said Tela with a smile. Even Cham Syndulla, who was watching in the distance, looked impressed.
He shrugged it off."I've had practice." He noticed Cham walking over.
"I think you are ready to fight, Dimitri." Cham said."We have just allied ourselves with a government called the Republic. You will be fighting alongside a Jedi known as Mace Windu."
Dimitri looked at him confused."J...Jedi? I can't say I'm familiar with that."
Cham smiled."Well, you're not familiar with a lot of things here. But I'm sure you'll get used to it."
I hope so, Dimitri thought.
"General Windu!" Cham called out to someone. Dimitri saw a man with bald hair and cream-colored robes turn around to look at him.
The former Russian soldier had looked in astonishment at the technology that these Republic soldiers had. He was also shocked at how the clone troopers, when they had taken off their helmets, looked the same. He felt out of place here.
"Yes, Cham Syndulla?" Asked Mace Windu.
Cham smiled."I think I know someone who can help you in your attack against the Separatist."
