I don't own Thor or any of the Marvel characters. I only own Riona and my own original characters.
"Who are you?"
Riona snorted, amused. "Isn't that way to start off a conversation?"
Agent Coulson stood in front of her. He already questioned Thor who wasn't really talking to him at all. At least that's what he told her. Now it was Riona's turn to be questioned.
He sighed at her response. "You and your friend made us all look like a bunch of mall cops. That's hurtful."
Riona laughed. "Why? Did I hurt their dignity too?"
"Where did you receive your training?" Agent Coulsen asked.
"Nowhere. Self-taught." Riona responded. That wasn't entirely true, she learned from some.
"Your friend?"
"Not telling." Riona sang out.
"Name?"
"Can't you find that out yourself?" Riona asked.
They stared each other down. Riona crossed her arms and leaned forward. "I won't tell you jack shit. About me or my friend." Riona leaned back into her chair waiting for him to respond.
He pulled out Jane's notebook that made Riona a little tense. "I might not have to ask you." He opened the notebook and flipped through the pages and stopped on one.
He hummed. "Riona Molinari. Powers include control over basic elements, secondary elements, and control over the weather. She also has the power to mimic other powers, but her main one is control over reality…"
"...shall I go on?" Agent Coulson asked closing the book shut. "I'll ask you again. Who are you?"
Riona shrugged, "Just a woman. Plus, how can you possibly prove that I can do any of those things?"
"We have footage." Agent Coulson fought back.
Riona gave him a smug smile. "Do you really though?"
His facade cracked.
"Without any actual evidence, I'm afraid you would be taking the words of men who probably all have concussions and it could be all played off as their own hallucination caused by head trauma." Riona continued.
"So, in reality, the only reason why you can keep me here is that I trespassed government property. The same goes for my friend." Riona smiled triumphantly.
He glared at her, knowing that what Riona said was all true. "We will find what we need to know. We're good at that." And with that, he walked out of the room, and the door shut behind him, leaving her alone.
Riona let out a sigh of relief. She just dodged a couple of bullets. Riona knew it would be a matter of time before they suspected even more of her. There is no record of her anywhere in the past four years she's been there. Then they'll be on her ass about that.
Riona licks her lips, her eyes briefly glowing, "I can feel you watching me. Kind of creepy."
In a flash of gold and green magic, a man appeared before her. He looked just a few inches shorter than Thor, though it was hard to tell, his skin lighter, not exactly pale, he was lean but Riona could also tell he was built like a warrior, though his specialty was more magic.
His black raven hair was slicked back, his eyes were a sparkling green with a small ring of blue blooming from the middle. He was dressed in a suit and tie, a trench coat covering his shoulders, all mostly black with hints of green.
Riona raised an eyebrow at him, "Need to work on that. I could feel your magic practically flowing out of you."
The man smiled at Riona, "You're interesting." His voice somehow sounded British, which was weird, but his voice was also very dangerous. It matches his attractive face too well.
Riona scoffed, "You wouldn't be the first to say that."
He tilted his head at her, "Shame. I would've liked to have been the first."
Riona tilted her head and couldn't help but smile, "Not that your flirting is terrible, quite the opposite actually, top-notch, but I would like to know your name."
"Loki of Asgard. God of-"
"Mischief and Lies. A trickster." Riona finished for him.
"You know of me?" Loki couldn't keep his eyes off this mortal. She was intriguing, a mystery. He liked her.
Riona shrugged, "Norse mythology. You're the brother of Thor, aren't you?" She asked.
Loki's smile dropped the second she mentioned Thor, "Yes, he is my brother."
Riona hummed, "Good to know. Though I would love to know why you were being a creep and watching me Loki? Not exactly the best first impression." She smirked a little.
Loki looked down briefly, "My apologies if I was invading, I was curious about you. I wanted to know who was by my brothers' side. I then felt your magic… quite powerful."
Riona stared at him for a moment, "Powerful… that's one way to put it."
Riona stands from her chair, stepping forward, her eyes glowing, "Tell me, God of Mischief, do you know just how powerful I can be?"
Loki stared into her red eyes, just like Thor, he couldn't look away from them, "No." He whispered out.
"But I would like to find out." He added.
Riona's eyes stopped glowing, "I'm guessing one of the names you were given was Silvertongue? You have quite the way with words, Loki."
"Though it seems my words can't give me your name." Loki responded.
Riona smiled, "Riona… Riona Molinari. Though I wish we could've met under better circumstances."
Riona held her hand out for Loki to shake, but he did the same thing that Thor did. Loki took her hand, and placed a light kiss on it, his eyes never leaving hers.
"Is that a custom on Asgard?" Riona asked.
Loki lets go of her hand, "Certainly, but I can't say I'm ever lucky enough to give the gesture to women such as you."
Riona chuckled walking away from him, "Definitely Silvertongue. I'm flattered Loki, I am but…"
Riona turned back around, "I know why you're here Loki, and I know why you're doing this. Yes, you might be interested in me, but you want me to turn my back on Thor to make him suffer even more than he already has."
Loki tried to interrupt, but Riona stopped him, "I know you're hurt, Loki, but this is not the way. Again, I wish our meeting was under better circumstances. Truly, I am sorry for what you're going through. But I will not leave Thor and I will help him."
Loki clasped his hands behind his back, "Shame."
Riona crossed her arms, "Shame? That's all you have to say?"
Silence hung in the air between the two of them.
"I suppose so." Loki said, almost disappointed.
Riona nodded, "Alright… You talked to Thor, you saw me… Isn't time for you to return to Asgard?"
Loki stared at her for a moment before nodding, "It is. Farewell, Riona. May we meet again."
Loki disappeared in a flash of green and gold, leaving Riona, once again alone.
Riona huffed, sitting back down in her chair, "Oh we'll meet again. I don't doubt it."
No later than ten minutes went by when a voice called her name by the door. "Riona! There you are!" Erik had a forced smile on his face, coming up to Riona and lifting her up to her feet.
Thor was standing right behind him looking just as confused as Riona was.
"Come, my friend, I'm taking you both back home."
They made their way past SHIELDS security outside. Riona noticed all of Jane's possessions under a tarp and also spot her notebook. Agent Coulson must've put it back with her things and used it to interrogate Riona when he did.
As they passed, Riona grabbed it quickly and shoved it into the inside pocket of Thor's jacket that she was still wearing.
"I saw that." Thor commented beside her.
Riona snorted, "I have no idea what you're talking about. From what I can see," Riona looked back at the table, her eyes glowed for a second and an exact replica of Jane's book sat on the table, though on the inside, it was empty.
"The book is still there." Riona finished, giving Thor an innocent look.
"Dr. Selvig!" Agent Coulson yelled.
They froze without turning back. "Just keep them away from the bars."
"I will." Erik replied.
"Where are we going?" Thor asked, looking at Erik.
Erik huffed and stomped forward. "To get a drink."
The clinking of the pool balls and music filled Riona's ears. Riona looked over at Thor and Erik who sat at the bar. She wasn't one much for drinking. Maybe a glass of wine here and there, hell, maybe even a shot, but she had to be in the mood for it.
"Hey," The guy who Riona was playing pool with tore her gaze away from her friends. "Your turn."
Riona gave him a faint smile and looked for a move, taking a small sip of her soda.
"You know, I had it all backwards." Thor said.
Erik listened with mild interest.
"I was all wrong." Thor continued.
"Was that a bad thing finding out that you don't have all the answers?" Erik asked. "You start asking the right questions."
Thor thought about it for a moment. "The first time in my life, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do."
"Anyone who's ever going to find his way in this world has to start by admitting he doesn't know where the hell he is." Erik says.
"Thank you. For what you've done." Thor sincerely thanks Erik.
Erik protested. "Don't thank me. I only did it for Jane and Riona. Jane's father and I taught at University together. He was a good man. He never listened." This registers with Thor.
"Neither did I." Thor admits. "My father was trying to teach me something. I was too stupid to see it."
Erik eyes him with interest. "I don't know if you're delusional or if you're pulling some sort of con, and I don't care. I just care about both of them. Especially her." Erik gestured over to Riona who was enjoying a game of pool.
Thor looked over at her and then back at Erik.
"She has been through enough. Found out that her family wasn't actually her hers. She might never get to see her real family because of what she is. No close friends other than Jane, those two are as thick as thieves. I see her as my own daughter." He paused. "I've seen the way she looks at you."
No family, no friends? Thor was crushed to hear that she truly didn't have anyone outside of the three of them. Thor remembered their conversation from the van previously. He was curious as to why she could never see her family.
Thor furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. He looked over at Riona who was shooting the 8-ball into a corner pocket, winning her game of pool. Thor looked back at Erik, "I swear to you, I mean her no harm."
"Good. In that case, I'll buy you another round, and you leave town tonight." Erik said.
Thor took a long pause before nodding in agreement.
Erik looked to the bartender. "Two boilermakers."
The bartender placed two pints of beer along with two shots on the table and walked off to tend to the other customers. Erik poured the shots into the beer and the two proceeded to clink their glasses and drink.
The two locked eyes with each other and silently agreed to have a drinking game to see which one of them could chug their drink. Erik chugged his drink as fast as he could not wanting to lose to Thor.
"Hey, you two... oh." Riona skipped up to them having coming out as the winner of the pool game she was playing. She looked back and forth between the two of them, chuckling as she saw what was going on.
She snorted. "Men will be men." She said to herself.
Riona gave Thor a side look, the two smiled. Well, Thor tried to the best of his abilities.
Riona leaned forward between the two, placing her cup on the bar, "Refill please, and one lemon-drop shot on the side." She asked the bartender who nodded at her request.
One little shot wasn't going to hurt, after all, it was only one.
She shrugged off Thor's jacket that she had been wearing and draped it on the back of Thor's chair.
The bartender placed down her shot on refill of soda and Riona picked up the shot, "Down the hatch boys."
She downed the shot and placed the glass down on the bar, grimacing a little at the taste. Again, shots were something she had to be in the mood for, and tonight she was only in the mood for one.
"Good luck you two." Riona grabbed her soda and went off to play another round of pool until they both had their fill of drinking.
