Hungry Monsters
Walburga started straight ahead, her eyes glued on the strange creature that floated in the air in a dancing manner. The chains that hung from around his waist and unarmoured right leg rattled while his blue, red and orange robe like clothes floated about in the none existent breeze showing off his legs.
"Is this the strange creature that dragged you into the past?" Walburga questioned without taking her eyes off of the strange creature in front of him.
"Yeah, through he...I think it is a he...used an underhanded tactic by using my hunger against me," Augustus replied, his taste buds danced at the mere memory of the delicious tasting cake he had taken a bite of before he was dragged into the past. "When I first saw him I thought he was similar to Helios...he looks strange...just like the picture in a muggleborn's book."
Walburga's lips curled downwards at the time travellers words. "You read a muggle book?"
"At the time it sounded like the ultimate boredom solver as I waited for my friends to finish getting ready for dinner," Augustus defended as he continued to stare at the strange floating creature. "What do you think this creature wants with us? It has to be something big or important as he did drag me into the past to do...to do whatever it is that he wants."
"I have no idea but remember that when all of this is over and you are back in your own time do not expect us to be the best of friends," Walburga snapped out as she stuck her nose up in the air. "We are only putting aside our differences so we can achieve a common goal. Once we know wh-"
"Look! It is moving!"Augustus shouted out excitedly, cutting Walburga off, he pointed to the strange floating being who was slowly moving backwards while also dropping small things on the ground as it went. "Do you think it wants us to follow it? It is dropping something's on the floor as it moves. It looks like food, bread crumbs. What do you think?"
Walburga gave the creature a calculating gaze as it continued to float backwards while leaving bread crumbs. "I think that we are missing an important part of the puzzle, all the pieces are scattered about in front of us but we do not know where that missing piece is until we finish the puzzle. Do you not think that it is weird that it dragged you through time and is now trying to lead us somewhere by using bread crumbs? All of this is starting to sound a lot like a story I once heard from my aunt who likes fairytales."
"Ignore the fairytales and puzzle nonsense, can you not smell the amazing aroma coming from the bread?" Augustus asked, his mouth watering as the smell teased his nose. "I want to eat some! I am going to ask him if he has a loaf, I refuse to eat bread crumbs off of the ground!"
Without bothering to wait for Walburga's reply Augustus ran forwards, following the trail of bread crumbs that had been left behind by the strange floating creature. Walburga let out a low groan of frustration as she watched Augustus run off, the strange floating creature had disappeared around the corner not long ago.
"In situations like this it is better to stick together, being alone can be more dangerous," Walburga muttered to herself before following the trail of bread crumbs which would lead her to where Augustus and the strange creature would most likely be.
'I hope that nothing has gone wrong or anything bad has happened to the time traveller' Walburga thought as she followed the bread crumb trail. 'If anything would happen to him it would reflect badly on the Black name.'
With her head held high Walburga increased her speed and quickly made her way around the last corner. As soon as she turned around the corner she spotted the frozen figure of Augustus who was staring at a strange looking door. Unlike all of the other doors in the castle this one was different and the closer Walburga got to it the easier it was for her to see.
"Is that door...made out of cake?" Walburga asked as she came to a stop besides Augustus.
"Yes, and the handle is made out of liquorice rope," Augustus replied, drooling slightly. "My favourite! I love liquorice!"
"Did you not say that it was about dinner time in the future when the strange creature took you?" Walburga asked as she carefully eyed the drool that was pouring out of Augustus' mouth.
"Before you start I missed lunch because of a detention so I am really hungry, plus I am a growing boy!" Augustus answered as he shot Walburga a smirk. "I am going to try some cake! It is my favourite type too, triple chocolate cake with chocolate flavoured icing!"
Walburga allowed a rare disgusted expression to appear on her face. "My...how...lovely. Through before you start stuffing your mouth full of cake have you forgotten about the strange creature we are following?"
"No, I have not," Augustus replied as he crossed his arms over his chest and glared and Walburga. "I am just appreciating the food in front of us. Have you forgotten that it is almost-"
"I know, you were about to eat. How could I forget with how many references you have been making to eating?" Walburga asked with a roll of her eyes. "If you would hurry up and open the door maybe we can find out the answer to what is going on quicker?"
Deciding that it was best to just ignore Walburga, Augustus simply nodded his head and reached out to the door. Doing his best to ignore the mouth watering triple chocolate cake with chocolate flavoured icing Augustus opened the door only to revival an almost empty room. There were only two objects in the room.
"What is that?" Augustus asked as he peered into the stone walled room and gazed at the strange looking white box which held strange shapes on it. "I have never seen anything like the sort of material that object is made out of before."
"Must be a muggle created item," Walburga said as a sneer appeared on her face. She shot a dark glare at the figure floating next to it, they had found the strange being from before. "You! What do you want with us! What is that object next to you?!"
"Oven," the strange creature stated in an almost gleeful manner as he gave both Walburga and Augustus a dark hungry look. "I am hungry. I am going to eat you."
End.
