One Day

A single tear slid down Druella's pale cheek as she clung to her lover. Her body shook slightly as she did her best to prevent the loud sobs that threatened to overcome her.

"Hush now, your father and I just had a bit of a skirmish, there is nothing to worry about. It was just a battle of words," Aiden said softly as he placed a loving kiss on Druella's cheek. "Nothing is bleeding, we did not fight or duel. Your father is just a bit over protective and stern."

"Father cannot see past the end of his nose, he wishes for me to marry a proper pure-blood and help strength ties between the two houses," Druella said sadly as she gave a small watery sniffle. "He is stuck in the old ways, he only cares about blood purity and class. If it was up to father I would be doing nothing but learning how to make things with yarn, blush every time someone talked to me and know only what a proper pure-blooded woman should know."

"I think it is sweet...sort of. Your father only wishes to protect you from all those horrible things out in the big wide world. You are his precious baby girl," Aiden said with a soft understanding smile on his face. "Your father only wants what is best for you, he thinks that there are dark horrible things out in the world that will hurt his precious baby girl, and he thinks that I am one of those horrible things you need protecting from."

"I can't wait until we're seventeen and free as a pixie." Druella said as she wiped her tears away. "I do not see how father cannot approve of you, you are famous and have a good job-"

"Which is another problem in your father's eyes," Aiden said as he placed a gentle finger over Druella's soft plum red lips. "If I even want to think about being worthy of just courting you with your father's permission than I should have so much money that I do not need to work."

Druella gave a very unladylike snort of disbelief. "My father is not only stern, and as you put it, overprotective but he is also an arse hole. Why can he not see how much we are in love for?"

"Because he is old and stuck in his ways, to your father blood purity is extremely important," Aiden answered as he ran his free hand through Druella's long black hair. "But do not worry, I am going to make myself worthy of you in his eyes."

"But you do not have to, if we can cope until we are both seventeen than we are free, free from my father, free from anyone who says that we cannot be together!" Druella said desperately as her hold on Aiden tightened. "Please Aid, please, you do not have to play such a dangerous sport to make my father like you!"

"I know love, I do but I want to. I want to get your father's approval so you do not have to fear about being disowned or hated by your family and risk the chance of starting any family feuds with your family," Aiden said as he gave Druella a loving and comforting smile, hoping that it would calm his secret girlfriend down enough to get her to loosen her hold on his arm so the blood might start going back into his arm. "Besides, I quiet like Quidditch and I am becoming quiet famous in my own right."

"You are becoming famous?" Druella asked in surprise as she stared at Aiden with wide shocked eyes. "I did not know, I am not allowed to read the newspaper, father says that reading the newspaper is not something a proper lady does."

Aiden snorted in disbelief. "You know there are times that I can really see your father's point of view and why he thinks and feels like that but then there are other times when I cannot help but to think of him as the idiot you always describe to me."

"My father is a complex man, there are times when not even mother knows what he is thinking or even able to keep up with him," Druella said in understanding. "Now enough of my too stern father, tell me about you becoming famous!"

Aiden let out a joyful laugh making Druella's heart warm. "You know how I started to play Quidditch in an attempt to gain money to prove to your father that I can take care of you?"

"Yes," Druella replied with a nod of her head as she snuggled up to Aiden.

"Well it turned out that I have some skill with being a Seeker," Aiden's eyes lit up in excitement making Druella find herself smiling with him too. "Well when I went out to practice for the next game because of the team owner selling me to a better team I found something startling out!"

"What? What did you find out?" Druella asked leaning forwards towards Aiden as she found herself drawn into his story. "Please tell me Aid! Did someone threaten you?"

"Nothing of the sort, but someone did ask me if I would be willing to play as a Seeker on the Irish team as their Seeker was forced to retire," Aiden replied, unable to keep the big grin off of his face. "So...what do you think? I will be playing with the big boys in the big leagues next season. If everything goes smoothly than I will have enough money to buy our dream house and the land surrounding it."

"Oh Aid! It is perfect! Everything is wonderful," Druella gushed out excitedly with happiness shining brightly in her eyes. "Everything is falling into place like magic! Do you think we can really do this? Do you think we will be able to be together?"

"I promise you Druella that I will do my best and to continue trying my best, as long as I have anything to say or I can do something about it no other man will touch a single hair on your head," Aiden answered as he swooped down on Druella for a kiss.

Both missed the angry eyes watching them both a few feet away.

End.
