Hello! Hi! How's it going!
Revali: Took you long enough.
Me: T.T Hey I said I was sorry...
Revali: Better late than never, I suppose...
Me: Are you going to keep roasting me or help me with the disclaimer?
Revali: Oh fine, Zelda and it's character's belong to Nintendo, and Serina belongs to Serina.
Me: So full of life this one... ANYWHOZLES! This one is fairly short, but now that I've given myself an idea of where to go now, the next one should be a touch better!
WITHOUT FURTHER ADO!
LADIES AND GENTS! I FINALLY PRESENT:
Chapter 12- What's Next?
"Okay so you see that group of stars?" Serina pointed up towards the clear night sky.
"I see many groups of stars," Revali retorted as he struggled to figure out just which group she was pointing at.
She giggled and kept pointing, "It's that group of four up there, they look a bit like a square, then trailing off of that group is the rest of the dragon."
As soon as he spotted it, he was able to make out the dragon shape the constellation made. He hummed and brought his gaze back down to her. She was smiling a bit as she kept her eyes glued to the sky. She would have kept staring up at them too, but a voice called out to her and Revali, pulling her eyes away from the sky.
Zelda approached them with Serina's notes in hand.
"Here," She smiled, "I've gotten everything I needed."
"Thank you," Serina grabbed her notes and held them to her chest, "So, what's our next move, Your Highness?"
"I was just about to gather everyone up so we could discuss that." Zelda spoke, "Come with me."
Revali followed Serina and the Princess back inside and brought everyone in for a small meeting. From there, they were to determine what their next plan of action was.
"Now that we've covered the shrines, it's time that you all finally interact with your Divine Beasts." Zelda started, "You'll be spending the next couple of weeks learning how they operate. In the meantime, Link and I will be returning to Hyrule Castle to consult with the King. When we're finished there, I'll be visiting each of you to see your progress with the Divine Beasts."
"I take it you'll let us all know what to do next when you check in?" Urbosa inquired.
"Yes," Zelda nodded, "For now it's important to know as much as you can about the ins and outs of your Divine Beasts. Until we know for certain when Ganon is returning, our best bet is to be as prepared as possible."
Once their meeting was over, Jayne pulled Link and Serina over to her.
"So, guess I won't be seeing you two for another two weeks…" Jayne sighed.
Serina put a hand on her best friend's shoulder, "Hey, we aren't leaving until tomorrow morning. How about we just spend tonight catching each other up on everything?"
There was a sparkle in Jayne's jade eyes and she smiled, "That sounds like a good idea. What say you, Link?"
Link nodded and followed them to a comfortable… muggy, spot to sit outside.
"So, first thing's first Mister Hero," Serina spoke, "You look stressed."
Link let out a heavy sigh, "Why'd you have to attack me first?"
Jayne poked his side, "She's right though, you do seem tired."
"I am tired. I feel as though I'm not quite cut out for this after all." He grumbled.
"Why would you say that? Of course you are, everyone knows that." Serina furrowed her brows.
"I'm not so sure the Princess does…" Link said quietly.
"Did something happen?" Jayne asked.
"She just doesn't seem all that confident in me when it's just the two of us. I'm not sure if it's something I did or said, but she's just very…. Standoff-ish." He explained.
"I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong Link." Serina thought back to the day they met the Champions. How Zelda expressed her concerns to her and Jayne, "Just like all of us, Zelda is under a lot of pressure. Even before you were assigned as her knight, she's been acting the way you described. It's not that she doesn't have faith, she's just worried. Like everyone else is. Her job is likely the hardest out of all of ours."
Link remained silent and nodded, soaking in everything. He didn't think about how stressed she was about their quest. He was focused on doing his job of keeping her safe.
"Just try not to take it personally, okay?" Jayne summed it up, "I know it's easier said than done but girls are just weird sometimes. Serina and I would know."
Link and Serina both chuckled lightly at Jayne's response. She was always so lighthearted in almost any situation. It's why they loved her so much, Jayne wasn't always the sharpest tool in the shed, but she was strong-willed and persistent when she really needed to be. She was there with Serina when they encountered their first Hero of Time. One of Link's ancestors.
"What about you, Jayne?" Link poked Jayne back, "How have you and Mipha been?"
"We've been doing great actually! I really love Zora's Domain! It's so pretty there and everyone's so nice." Jayne chirped.
Serina laughed, "Yeah, I liked visiting there too. It's gorgeous during the summertime."
"What about you and Flyboy? You two seem…. Different towards each other. I thought you were mad at him." Jayne batted her eyes at Serina.
"We've sorted things out for the most part… I think. We just started off on the wrong foot. But we don't hate each other if that's what you're wondering."
"Good," Link laughed, "You had us worried when you started the journey off glaring at each other. You could have cut that tension with a knife."
Serina scoffed, "Sorry for being a protective friend."
Link laughed, "It's okay, we still appreciate you, Serina."
She smiled and sucked in a breath of humid, ash filled air. The smile fell off her face and she coughed.
"Nothing Against Death Mountain or anything… but I can't wait to get some fresh air." She sputtered.
"I think the Volcano is cool! It gives my fire powers a nice boost." Jayne let a small fireball float in her palm.
"It's a wonder you weren't paired with Daruk instead of Mipha." Link joked.
"True, this is almost like Jayne's natural habitat." Serina giggled, "It suits her firey personality."
The three of the laughed together as they joked and shared stories during their adventures. Before it got too late though, they eventually retired to their rooms and did their best to get a good night's rest. Everyone, with the exception of Daruk who was already right at home, had a long trip back to their Divine Beasts.
AAAND THERE :D Like I mentioned, this one was short because I had to do som refreshing on where I left off. I'm a tiny bit rusty, but I am confident that the chapters will get better as I get back into the swing of things!
Thank ya'll for reading and stay tuned for the next chapter! See ya then :D
