When I woke up, I was about to start preparing for another subspace trip, but then I remembered I was on a planet, one with an advanced civilization no less, that was gonna take a bit to get used to. Regardless, I went and got myself what was essentially the equivalent of coffee, just to prepare for the potential shitshow ahead, as I knew exactly what kinda stuff they'd ask, some of which I'm gonna be reluctant to answer.

"Good morning Jack."

"Morning Silas" At least I can rely on my old pal if necessary.

"Any plans for today?"

"Yea, public attention, introducing my race before you ask."

"You better make a good first impression."

"I'll try, but for all I know, these people could be lunatics, you saw how the four allies didn't call for help from others."

"But they did prove themselves capable."

"Surprisingly, I thought we were fucked honestly."

"So did I, and I'm not even human"

"Yet, you have the personality of one." Silas chuckled at that "Don't laugh, you know it's true."

"Yea yea." I just smiled and shook my head and went about cleaning the mess the inspectors made, but when I saw my family's longsword on the ground, I was thoroughly confused as to why they didn't ask why I had it, but I was much more pissed at such disrespect toward the relic. The sword had been in my family for countless generations, and was ceremoniously passed down the line, I was 18 when it was granted to me, as my father had been, or so I heard, and I aim to keep it safe at all times, so I'm gonna have some very unpleasant words for those asshats when I see them again. I made sure to take extra care when cleaning the area, not before looking it over for damage, finding none thankfully.

'What's making you mad?' I swung behind me, only to hit the wall, but I didn't care

'Where are you!? I've had enough of this!'

'I was tasked to keep tabs on you, so I won't tell.'

'Well get the hell out of my mind, privacy is something humans actually like.' Thankfully, there wasn't a response, but I made a mental note to stop thinking, just in case. I finished up the cleaning and went to the hangar, and looked at The Hunter, I knew that I'd likely be grounded for awhile, but while looking it over, I noticed the paint's starting to peel, I'd have to fix that, but before I could get to that, Silas interrupted "Pepper want to talk to you over the comms."

"Tell him I'll be just a minute." I got everything ready to repaint The Hunter, then headed to the helm "Patch him through." there was a few seconds before to comms crackled to life "You called?"

"Indeed, I need you to talk to the public soon, they're actually demanding to meet you."

"I hope they don't mind the rugged outfit, at least by your standards, when's the whole thing going on?"

"3 hours, at the base we met in person."

"That's a 2 hour drive, I hope you have enough time to prepare, public addresses can be critical."

"We should have enough time, if not, we'll push it back."

"Works for me, I'll be there soon, assuming I can hitchhike there or something."

"Can you get a member of Star Fox to drive you?"

"Only ones that'll possibly drive me would be Fox or Peppy, maybe Fara or Falco, no guarantees though."

"If not, I'll get you here some other way." That got my attention

"Well, does your base have an airstrip? Or landing pads?"

"Yes, why do you ask?"

"Given proper authorization, and I know it'll require an escort, but I can fly there if I can't get there by land."

"Only if you can't acquire a ride."

"Got it. Expect me soon either way."

"I will." With that, the comms cut "Today's gonna be fun possibly." Silas spoke up after that

"I request you bring me."

"Why?"

"Moral support, and to keep you from losing your nerves on stage." I chuckled at that one

"Ok wiseass, sure, I'll bring you along, just don't disrupt me too much."

"Why I would never." I always enjoyed these moments, it always helped to remind me that I wasn't talking to a bot. I went to the pad that the Great Fox was on. Odd, the guard wasn't here, it could be nothing, but I best stay on my guard. I went up to the hangar, where I saw Fara examining the jet that I gave her "Hey Fara, like it?"

"Oh, hey, yea, I just hope I can fly it."

"I can teach you some day, just remember, you'll be taking G forces, but the Auto GCAS should keep you alive if you pass out."

"GCAS?"

"Ground Collision Avoidance System. If you lose consciousness due to excessive G's and it detects potential impact, it'll prompt you to pull up, if your unresponsive, it'll assume control of your aircraft and adjust to a safe trajectory."

"What if I'm trying to land?"

"Depends, vertical or horizontal?"

"Vertical"

"Not an issue as you have to constantly do something"

"And horizontal?"

"Just gotta make sure you aren't gonna mess up, or disable it."

"I'm assuming you'll teach me that too?"

"Either after I'm confident you can fly solo and not die, or after we find a way to get G-Diffusers on it, as Slippy called them."

"I'm a pilot, I can handle it."

"And yet, the first time we meet, you're without your wings, I'm sorry, but you need to prove it."

"Ok, fair point, but I'm curious, why did you give me this?"

"Because I see a future with you" I said that with a sarcastic tone to get the point across, but got serious again when she didn't look impressed "Honestly though, I did it because your friends saved my ass, and I had no way to pay them back until I realized you didn't have anything to fly, and I had a spare I never used, so I did it to pay you guys and gals back." She seemed unsure about how to respond to that, so I went back to looking for Peppy, but before I could, Fara finally responded.

"When will you train me?"

"Honestly, I don't know, I'd have to ask the old bloodhound for permission to fly, and even then, it'll be two foreign jets in the air, so I really don't know"

"Well, I can wait, so take your time flyboy."

"Flyboy? Seriously?"

"I mean, look at the gear you wore while flying, the armaments, that's not something a mercenary can achieve, you have to be an official airman."

"Well, I was, yea, intergalactic conflict with other human colonies resulted in a genocide, my planet was obliterated, I managed to secure The Enduring, originally the SDN Dauntless, a support class runner, managed to evacuate civs as well, I dropped them off on a neutral planet as refugees, and I left, modifying my ships as I traveled and- sorry, am I rambling?"

"Oh don't worry, I'm honestly interested."

"Ok, well, after 5 years of traveling the endless abyss, I started looking for places to live. While most were habitable, I started thing more... I can't think of the word."

"Ambitiously?"

"Yes, ambitiously, I started thinking about finding another civilization, maybe even a new species, and here I am, mind you, probably gonna be entangled in a war, but it's not my first rodeo."

"I guess not, but it's kinda saddening, one war after another."

"Hey, as long as I don't have to face Javelin again, I'll be set."

"What's Javelin?"

"Who, he was an ace on the opposite side. I sparred with him multiple times, each time, we'd perform a dance of death in the skies, trying to get behind each other. It was quite a show seeing a black and red jet battling a blue and red jet, sometimes solo, other times in the midst of furballs."

"Furballs?"

"Large scale aerial battle, almost impossible to confirm kills."

"You have a favorite battle with them?"

"In the eye of a very strong storm, me and Javelin went head to head like it was just another battle, it was also the first time I heard him over the comms, after we pulled back, told me that he appreciated having an equal on the field."

"Kind of an odd thing to say."

"Maybe he just wanted someone to test his ability."

"Maybe, in the end, we never got to see who could beat who."

"If you could, would you finish it?"

"That's... A difficult question. Give me time to think about that one."

"Ok, but anyhow, you came aboard why?"

"Need a ride to Pepper's base, they've finally decided to show me to the public."

"You say that like you're a tool or a machine."

"Well I've got a lot of warrior blood in me, so I could be, who knows." We shared a laugh before continuing

"Anyways, you said that you need a ride, I can drive you if you want."

"It's entirely up to you honestly, I'm gonna ask Peppy, see if he'll drive."

"He's out already, so I'll drive, though I find it odd you don't have a vehicle."

"When you explore jungle and desert planets, it's not exactly helpful."

"True." We chatted for a bit longer, but eventually she did drive me there, gotta say, she makes for good conversation. I hopped out after arriving, going immediately to Pepper's office. I wasn't surprised he wasn't there, the presentation thing was due to occur in about 45 minutes, they could be setting up still. I decided to update my logs after so long. I looked around before activating a voice log.

"Well, Entry #47, this is quite interesting. Last log was 2 months ago, and it was all the same old stuff until yesterday. I found another sentient species, and they're advanced enough to the point they're actually a bit more advanced, but there's also other civilizations they're warring with, Venom for one, attacked me almost as soon as I arrived, which a mercenary faction called Star Fox saved me and Silas from being destroyed or shot down. I am currently standing in General Pepper's office, awaiting a public presentation to show me off. Perhaps I should have worn a suit, but the whole biker look I have going represents me more than a tuxedo or an overcoat. I will update more often now though, Jack, out." I shut the recording off, and looked out the window, and the crowd that was amassing, well, I actually started feeling nervous, but I knew Silas would help. The time came a little later than what we planned, and soon enough, I was lead to behind the stage, guess I was about to be the next big thing here.

END OF Ch. 3

A/N

I'm actually running out of ideas on how this story should go. I will compose next chapter as the presentation, but I have a couple of questions here. I gave the 1st person storytelling a try, how'd I do? And I might need a few pointers, as writing this is actually a little hard, so can some of you help a little?
