HellRaiderS: Has a good potential looking forward for more updates
Me: Thanks! I'm glad you're gonna stay tuned for more :D
wonderfulwriter4587: i really liked this chapter. not anything of a fightscene or stuff but well written nonetheless.
this is btw the third acc of yesse becasue my dad didnt like that i was reading so much so i had to buy a new phone by myself plus make a new acc so here i am.
btw the ddr reminds me of my homecounrty germany after ww2 xD
i really would like it if they would alos go to the training room because someone(idk your decision)
wants to demonstarte some skills.
would be nice to raise some suspison and could devide em maybe a bit.
also would giev the poential for a possible drama scene if the two would come together and she feels betrwayed because of his(first) lack fo trust.
sorry for the grammar mistakes btw im kinda in a rush so i cant read over it-.
bye
yesse
Me: I'm honored you like my work so much you went through three accounts to support me. Much appreciated! I do have a plot ahead for that suspicion and I'm honestly so excited to write that part out! I hope to unveil my plans soon enough!
CCAlpha: Plz you can, I would appreciate it a lot. But other than that I really liked this, and am wondering how you're gonna break percabeth
Me: Small hint, the break up won't be pretty ;3

After a few rounds of mindless shooting games, Carina finally stopped and grabbed her phone, mostly intending to play some music. However, she frowned at the silent alarm that was going off. Saying something was in the building that shouldn't be. But what was it? The security camera app wasn't picking up on anything weird.
"You're making that face. What's wrong?" A voice interrupted her and she looked up to see the concerned frown of Yuna, her forehead lightly gleaming with sweat. "Did one of the Avengers text you or something?"
Carina shook her head. "Just a weird silent alarm going off. Didn't you guys get it, too?"
Yuna shrugged at the question. "I left my phone on the charger in my room." She turned and looked at Jackson, who was just coming over as well. "Rina's silent alarm notifications are going off. Did you get any?"
"No. Stark is still fixing mine after you broke it when we sparred yesterday, remember?"
"Oh."
Jackson rolled his eyes and looked back at Carina with a somewhat worried look. "Think everything is okay? We can get these kids out of here if you want to find Rogers."
"I can handle this without Cap." Carina said with a sense of finality and pocketed her phone. "There was nothing on the cameras anyway so it might be picking up some sort of mythical disturbance or something. I think Tony said something about upgrading it to do that after the Ultron thing. It might not be anything major; Thor just might be back and forgot to give us a heads up. Wouldn't be the first time." She looked at her guests, noticing some had ventured out of the arcade area but figured they didn't go too far.
Jason and Leo were playing Skee-ball while Piper watched, Rachel had on a pair of VR goggles and was swinging at the air like she was holding a sword, but Annabeth and Percy were missing. She hoped they weren't somewhere they shouldn't be. Especially not to do *couple stuff*.
"I'll go check it out and press the loud alarms if something is up. I'll use the comms if I need you guys to get them out before something blows up." Carina said and pulled on her jackets, earning a concerned look from her friends.
"...Are we expecting something to blow up?" Jackson asked and Carina waved him off in a nonchalant fashion.
"I mean… probably not?" She says and checks the feed on her phone again. She caught sight of what looked like an orange tabby cat? Maybe the thing snuck in and triggered an alarm? Would be weird, but definitely not the weirdest thing to happen at the Tower. "Looks like a cat wandered in somehow and tripped an alarm. I'll go get it and put it back outside. Easy peasy."
Jackson looked doubtful but nodded reluctantly. "Okay, just hurry back. I'm not babysitting your guests forever. Yuna is hard enough to keep track of."
Yuna looked slightly affronted and smacked his arm, which left him wincing but otherwise unfazed. "Rude!"
Carina rolled her eyes. "Behave." She lightly warned and went off, following the tracking on her phone and it actually led her to the floor below. She was getting closer, according to the cameras and started to frown. Something felt wrong about this situation and she felt oddly wary about going to fetch a cat.
Only, she got to the hall near the indoor gym, and saw that it wasn't a cat at all. At least, not an ordinary cat.
It was a large lion that was easily the size of a truck, with fur that shimmered like gold. It was skulking through the hall and sniffing the air like it was looking for something.
Carina ducked behind the corner and looked at the screen. She was definitely in the right spot but the camera still showed a normal looking cat roaming the halls, not an absolute monster of a lion that looked like it could knock over a tractor. She peaked around the corner again to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. It was still there and gradually moving closer to her location. She has fought a lot of things before, but a lion would definitely be new.
"What are you doing?" She heard a whisper from behind her and startled, she whipped around in a quick fighting stance before she saw who it was. It was Steve, clad in his casual clothes, along with Percy and Annabeth behind him. She narrowed her eyes a bit at the Captain but then turned to the couple. "Where did you guys go?" She whispered back.
"Went looking for the library. Then we found your dad." Percy whispered back, but looked more or less bored by that idea of leaving the arcade for books. Not that she could blame him. "Why are we whispering?"
"Steve is not my dad!" She practically snapped at him, only feeling mildly guilty by how he recoiled from met mild outburst, ignoring both Annabeth's shocked look and Steve's somewhat sad one. She didn't hate the Captain. She respected him enough since he did take her in and vouched for her when he didn't have to, but something about everyone in the media calling him her 'dad' made her feel quite angry and she couldn't fully explain why.
In her distraction, Carina forgot all about the lion until she heard a low growl as padded footsteps started coming closer, much faster. She turned just in time for the lion to come appear at the end of the hall, glaring daggers at them.
"That's why I was whispering." She managed to say right before the beast lunged at her.
Sorry for the delay and shorter chapter! I had a hard time figuring out what I was going to do but I figured it out! I know I had some stuff in the Author's Note about stuff I was going to change but I redacted some of it. I'll keep in Pietro's death and the Barton family because I had plans for otherwise but they wouldn't have fit. Anyways, I'll update soon!
Also, I'm thinking of taking up a beta reader/co author if anyone is interested!
