Hello and welcome to chapter 1 of the MegaMan/Naruto crossover, MegaMan NT Warrior: The Three Heralds. Now before we begin, I should let you know that this will take place entirely in the world of MegaMan NT Warrior while also using some elements from other projects. Let me explain:

1) This will actually be a crossover between Naruto, MegaMan NT Warrior, Digimon, and Kingdom Hearts.

2) Naruto and any other characters from his universe will have an alternate version of themselves in this, the same thing goes for the characters from Kingdom Hearts.

3) I'll be borrowing elements from "Yu-Gi-Oh!: Waking the Dragons" and Disney's "Atlantis: the Lost Empire".

Now there will be some other factors here and there as well, but I'll reveal them and go more into detail as I go along. Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, MegaMan, Digimon, or Kingdom Hearts.

Chapter 1:

Long ago in a place known as the Digital World, there were three beings fighting one another. One of them was a male humanoid with blonde hair and tanned skin, one was a female humanoid also with blonde hair but with fair skin, and one was a male humanoid with a creepy face and dark tanned skin.

"Viruah, look around you," said one of the blondes. "All of this destruction, and for what, conquest?"

"Not quite, Naruto," said Viruah. "I seek only destruction…! Glorious destruction…!"

"You don't have to do this," said the other blonde.

"Don't bother, Naminé," Naruto pointed out. "It's useless talking to him. It's in his nature."

"But Naruto, there must be something we can do," Naminé told him.

"You are wasting your breath," Viruah prepared to attack.

"WEB WRECKER…!"

Viruah fired an energy blast from the green sphere in his chest at Naruto.

"LIGHTNING WHIP…!"

Naruto countered the attack by summoning lightning from the sky and using it as a whip, knocking away Viruah's Web Wrecker attack.

"This ends now," Naruto shouted.

"I couldn't agree more," Viruah shouted back.

"If you two won't listen to reason, then you leave me no choice," said Naminé.

"KNOWLEDGE STREAM…!"

"AURORA FORCE…!"

"DESTINY DESTROYER…!"

Naminé freely combined the five elements from the magic circles on both of her arms and released enormous energy. Naruto circled his arms and released a powerful blast of blue electrical energy. Viruah fired a huge fire blast from his staff. The three attacks collided and the three were sent flying in the opposite direction, never to be seen again, or so many thought.

It's the year 200X and it was almost like living in a videogame for the people of a place known DenTech City. The whole city was linked together through a cyber matrix that connects known as the Cyber World. In this city many people had devices known as Personal Terminals or PETs that each stored a special cybernetic warriors known as NetNavis.

In one place, a young kid named Lan Hikari was net battling with Dex Oyama. Lan was using an ordinary NetNavi that resembled a robot human while Dex was using a custom-made NetNavi named GutsMan, who somewhat resembled a mechanical gorilla. Things were not going well for Lan and his NetNavi as Dex and GutsMan had the advantage over them, as custom-made NetNavis were more advanced than ordinary ones.

"YOU NO WIN," GutsMan slammed a large hammer onto the ground, sending a powerful shockwave towards the NetNavi.

Lan's NetNavi was able to avoid the attack just in time. It then charged at GutsMan and vice versa. GutsMan attempted to get the NetNavi in a bear hug, but again, the NetNavi evaded the attack, jumping up over GutsMan and landing behind him, before charging at GutsMan once again.

"Me number one NetNavi," GutsMan announced.

"Blaster Battle Chip in, and download," said Lan as he uploaded a battle chip into his PET for his NetNavi.

The battle chip was downloaded and the NetNavi's right arm changed into a cannon and it fired several shots at GutsMan. However, GutsMan put up a barrier that deflected every shot.

"Cyber Sword Battle Chip in, and download," Lan uploaded another battle chip into his PET.

The battle chip was downloaded and the NetNavi's right arm changed into a lightsaber-like sword. The NetNavi then charged at GutsMan and slashed down at him with the cyber sword. Sadly, the cyber sword broke upon contact as GutsMan blocked it with his arm which seemed to have tough armor.

"Delete him, GutsMan," Dex told GutsMan.

GutsMan then punched the NetNavi with such force that he destroyed its right arm and sent it flying in the opposite direction.

"Recreating right are execute," the NetNavi started recreating its right arm.

"Quick, stream out of there," Lan called out.

But Dex had other ideas. "Not so fast…!"

"SUPER GUTS HAMMER…!"

GutsMan slammed his hammer down once more and sent that powerful shockwave at the NetNavi again. This time though, the NetNavi wasn't able to dodge the attack and received the full blast, forcing it to log out.

"NETNAVI LOGGING OUT…!"

Lan's NetNavi logged out and Dex was declared the winner.

Lan Hikari stood up to 1.428 meters (4 feet, 8 inches) tall and had brown eyes and untidy brown hair, which he kept out of his face with a bandana bearing the symbol of his family. His upper-body attire consisted of a white long-sleeved shirt with black squares on the elbows under an orange vest. From the waist down, he wore black shorts with yellow stripes on the sides, black ankle-socks, and orange shoes with black stripes. He carried detachable roller blades that allowed him to instantly modify his shoes.

Dex was taller, chubbier, had a Mohawk, and wore a green shirt and blue shorts. He was just celebrating his 18th Net Battle victory over Lan in a row. "Oh yeah, give it up everybody, Dex wins yet again!"

"Having a customized NetNavi is the way to go," said someone in the audience.

"Yeah, I've already put mine on order," said another.

"Lan, quit playing like a rookie or you'll never be able to defeat my GutsMan," Dex bragged before laughing it off.

Lan just stared at Dex with disappointment that he lost to him yet again.

Around this time a young scientist named Elvis Alexander was with a group of archeologists, excavating some ruins. Elvis was bright young man in his 20s and had short blonde hair, fair skin, and green eyes (basically a cross between Curt Connors from Spider-Man and Willis from Digimon: The Movie).

"So you're saying that you found it somewhere around here," he asked.

"I'm positive Doctor Alexander," said one of the archeologists. "We found the remains of what appeared to be an ancient yet technologically advanced civilization."

"Well, you'd better be right," said Elvis as he looked at his PET and saw his customized NetNavi. "Salavar, looks like we're going to be here for a while."

"I here you, Elvis," said Salavar.

Salavar was a large, humanoid lizard-like NetNavi about as big as GutsMan but looked more ferocious. He had razor-sharp claws and teeth, several spikes running down his spine, and a long lizard-like tail.

Just then, Elvis noticed what appeared to be a door and alert everyone to it. "Hey, that looks like a door…!"

Everyone looked and saw the door. Walking up to it, they noticed that the door was indeed a door, but not like anything they saw before.

"I've never seen a door like this," said one of the archeologists.

"I don't think anyone has," said Elvis before he noticed something else.

In one corner was what appeared to be an access port for a PET jack in wire.

"That's interesting," said Dr. Alexander. "Salavar, are you seeing this?"

"I am," said Salavar. "If that indeed is an access port, I should be able to jack in and open the door."

"Well, worth a try," Dr. Alexander then prepared to jack Salavar in.

"JACK IN, SALAVAR…!"

Back in DenTech City, Lan was making his way home along with one of his friends, Maylu Sakurai. By now, Lan was wearing his detachable roller blades while Maylu was riding a scooter. Maylu was a half-Netopian girl with fair skin, short maroon hair, and brown eyes. Her outfit consisted of an aqua-colored shirt, blue vest, pink skirt, black thigh high socks, and dark red shoes.

"Man this stinks," Lan complained. "That makes 18 Net Battles I've lost to Dex and GutsMan in a row."

"Yeah, I know," said Maylu as she sympathized. "But what do you expect when you just have a plain old NetNavi?"

Just then, Maylu's PET beeped and she and Lan stopped so she could check. On screen was what appeared to be a young girl wearing a lightweight bodysuit-type armor with a mixture of the colors pink, red, and black, highlighting different parts of her body. Attached to her helmet was a pair of transparent, ribbon-like antennae that curved behind her; when considered together with the button attached to her backside, they gave her a vaguely bunny-like appearance. She also had a blonde ponytail tied with a green ribbon, and stood at 148 virtual centimeters (roughly 4'9"). This was Roll, Maylu's personal NetNavi and she had some news for her NetOp.

"Maylu, calendar uplink," said Roll as she displayed something Maylu had to do. "You have a piano lesson now."

"Oh yeah, thanks a lot Roll," Maylu thanked her NetNavi.

"If only I had a custom-made NetNavi like you," said Lan as Maylu giggled.

Just then the two heard Dex approaching on a scooter of his own. "Maylu…! Hey…! Wait…! Hold on a second Maylu…! Let me walk you home…!"

But Maylu had other ideas. "See you later Lan."

Maylu then rode her scooter away, as Dex gave chase, leaving Lan alone, wondering if he'll ever have his own personal NetNavi.

At the ruins, Salavar had jacked into the mainframe and was startled by what he saw right before him. All around, he saw a cyber matrix similar to what he usually saw in the cyber matrix of modern technology. In fact, it looked almost identical to the modern day cyber matrix, despite being who knows how old in comparison.

"Incredible," said Salavar.

"Salavar, what do you see," said Elvis.

"Take a look for yourself," Salavar replied, showing what he saw to his NetOp.

"Unbelievable," said Elvis. "We'll have to look into this later. In the meantime, can you open the door?"

"I'll see what I can do," Salavar got to work.

The lizard-like NetNavi looked around for the controls that would open up the door for the archeologists. Eventually, he found what he was looking for and activated the door.

Moments later in the real world, the door opened up, allowing the archeologists to enter the ruins.

"Good work, Salavar," said Elvis.

"No problem," said Salavar. "I'll continue to search the ruins through its cyber matrix. You and the others work inside the ruins themselves."

"Good luck then," said Elvis as he and the others entered the ruins.

In DenTech City, Lan was sitting by himself in the park as his NetNavi was being repaired. Unfortunately do to the damage sustained in the battle with GutsMan, the PET recommended that there should be no more Net Battles, much to Lan's disappointment. Lan then landed on his back and looked up at the sky. All of the sudden, a fish came flying at him, catching Lan's attention.

"Huh," Lan gasped. "A fish…?"

Nearby a chubby fish salesman wearing blue said, "You look as surprised as a Gopher in a stampede."

"Hey, come on Maysa," said Lan as he held the fish in his arms. "You could have hit me on the head with this. I'm not in the mood right now, okay?"

Lan then made his way down the steps towards Maysa.

"I here you played some lame game against Dex and lost," said Maysa.

Lan gave the fish back to Maysa before correcting him. "It's not a game Maysa. It was a net battle."

Lan then began walking away as Maysa said, "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Nets are actually made for fishing, you know?"

"I said Net Battle," Lan corrected Maysa again while washing his hand from handling the fish. "But then again, you're the only person on Earth without his own PET."

"I had a salmon as a pet when I was a young one," said Maysa.

"No, P.E.T., Personal Terminal," Lan corrected him before showing him his PET. "Here, check it."

Maysa got a closer look at Lan's PET before saying, "Oh that kind of pet. M was still more fun."

Lan argued, "Not as much fun as operating your very own virtual Net Warrior, and when we jack into the net, our NetNavis face off in sweet cyber battles. Come on, you've gotta admit that's pretty tight."

"Yes indeed, very interesting," said Maysa while sticking his pinky into his ear, not showing much interest at all. "Want to know what'll really snap your chaps?"

Maysa then pulled out his pinky and blew on it before saying, "Fish don't have eye lids."

Suddenly, sirens could be heard as several fire trucks came rushing by the park. For some time, fires continued to break out in house hold ovens all over the city and no one knew what was causing them. Lan and Maysa both watched as the fire trucks drove by to wherever the fire was breaking out.

"Looks like more fires have broken out," Maysa commented.

"Yeah, it's weird how ovens are catching fire all over town," said Lan.

"Speaking of ovens, I'd better go check mine," Maysa took out two more fish and gave them to Lan. "Remember to eat lots of calcium now, you hear?"

Maysa then got onto his bicycle and rode away.

"Okay, whatever you say," said Lan, feeling a bit confused at first before he smiled.

Meanwhile, Dr. Alexander and his team were exploring the inside of the ruins. While inside, they found what appeared to be Ancient Hindu architecture, but with more far more advanced technology than what the modern world currently had, almost alien.

"Just look at this," said Dr. Alexander. "I've never seen anything like this."

"What kind of ruins are these, Doctor," said one of the archeologists.

"I don't know," said Dr. Alexander. "It's supposed to be very ancient, but this technology also looks far more advanced than the technology we have today, even in DenTech City."

"What could this mean," said one of the archeologists.

"Let's find a terminal," said Dr. Alexander. "Maybe we can get answers there."

The archeologists made their way through the halls to where they believed a terminal would be located. But unbeknownst to them, a mysterious figure had been awakened and was preparing to follow them.

In the cyber matrix, Salavar was searching for more information when suddenly something attacked him. Right before him was a large creature with a robotic bug-like body shaped like a silverfish or a cockroach, armor like that of a beetle, legs like those of a praying mantis, and wings like those of a dragonfly. It also had a draconic head similar to the Lavagon viruses with two horns on either side of the back and lightsabers for front limbs. This creature towered over Salavar, standing up to 10 virtual meters (roughly 32'10") tall and 12 virtual meters (roughly 39'4.5") long. Overall, this creature looked like a force to be reckoned with.

In the real world, the group was walking through the ruins when something approached them from behind.

"Intruders…"

The archeologists were taken aback when they heard that noise. Before any of them could even think about doing something, Dr. Alexander got a call from Salavar.

"Elvis, I'm in trouble here," Salavar called through the PET.

"Salavar, what's going on," Dr. Alexander questioned.

"This network has a defense mechanism in the form of a mantis-like program," said Salavar. "I'm currently battling it right now, but I don't know how long I can keep this up!"

"Hang in there, Salavar," said Dr. Alexander as he ran up to another access port.

Jacking back in, Dr. Alexander took out his case of battle chips and prepared to help out his NetNavi.

"Alright Salavar, I'm back in prepare yourself," Dr. Alexander jacked in some of his battle chips. "Fire Tower Battle Chip in, and download…!"

"FIRE TOWER…!"

Salavar slammed his fist into the floor and unleashed a literal pillar of fire that ran right towards the guardian program, enveloping it inside. But as the flames dissipated, the guardian program was revealed to have almost no damage done to it.

"Uh oh," Salavar gasped.

"Uh oh is right," said Dr. Alexander as he noticed something else in the temple.

Right before the group there was a humanoid skeletal figure with the resemblance of a medieval knight. He had fair skin, hip-length blonde hair, and red eyes. His armor consisted of red "flat" plates with black backbone and rib like structures on the chest and back pieces and along the length of the arms and legs. He had skulls for hands and feet, a pair of large shoulder pads, and a skull-like helmet with three horns. But the most distinguishing feature was a large eye in the center of his chest piece, on each knee and shoulder pad, and in the mouth of each skull-boot.

"You are trespassing," said the knight to the archeologists.

Before any of the archeologists could say anything, the knight had all of the eyes focus on them.

"DEADLY GAZE…!"

The knight emitted shining energy from the eyes all over his body and the mouths on his arms, placing everyone under hypnosis.

In the cyber matrix, Salavar was trying his best against the guardian program when all of the sudden, he logged out.

"SALAVAR LOGGING OUT…!"

Back in Den Tech City, Lan had returned home. It was now evening and Lan explained to his mother Haruka Hikari what had happened earlier that day. The two had baked the fish Maysa gave Lan earlier.

"How scary," said Haruka. "There's been over 10 mysterious fires this week."

"I'll bet it has something to do with the computer controls," Lan deduced. "I should check our oven."

But Haruka brushed it off and said, "Don't worry about it. I had the dealer look at it yesterday and he said that everything was normal."

"Lots of weird stuff has been going on," Lan pointed out before asking for seconds, which Haruka complied.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot," said Haruka, remembering something. "A letter arrived for you from Dad today. I left it on the counter."

"Snail mail, not email," Lan questioned upon looking at the letter which was sitting next to a picture of him and his parents as his mother went to go get seconds for him.

"Sent all the way from Borneo," said Haruka.

"Sounds far away," said Lan as he picked up the letter. "Dad travels the world having adventures and I'm stuck going to school."

"Having adventures, being a scientist like your dad," said Haruka as she returned to the table with those seconds. "You can grow up to be anything you want Lan, just keep up your…"

"Just keep up your school work," Lan finished his mother's sentence. "Dad says the same thing. And isn't Borneo where Dr. Alexander found some mysterious ruins?"

Lan opened up the letter and found what appeared to be a small disc that he correctly guessed was something to create his own custom-made NetNavi.

"So what's inside Lan," said Haruka as she sat back down. "Some souvenir from Borneo…?"

"Yeah, it's a custom burned disc," Lan replied. "This is great. I can't wait to download it."

After dinner, Lan went into his room and placed the disc into his PET charger.

"Oh man, if you remembered our promise, then this has got to be it," said Lan as he began downloading the data from the disc into his PET.

He then moved to his computer screen and got ready for what he hoped was the process of creating his own custom NetNavi.

"System's administrator active," said the computer. "Please enter password."

Lan did just that.

"Password accepted, loading," the computer began loading in the data.

Lan then did a few more steps in order to create his personal NetNavi.

"Download complete," said the computer.

With everything in place, Lan moved back to the charger, picked up his PET and said, "Core logic installed. Engage."

Lan pressed the main button on his PET. Almost automatically, the screen on his PET displayed the NetNavi he used against Dex and GutsMan earlier that day.

"Running program with new mega configurations," said the PET.

Suddenly, the screen blacked out for some reason.

"That's kinda weird," said Lan. "The installation is completed but nothing's happening."

Lan then pressed the main button several more times.

"Second stage installation commencing," said the PET as the screen came back on. "Rebuffed partitions have been defragmented."

The NetNavi reappeared.

"Program import completed, congratulations," said the PET. "While the operating system for your PET has been fully loaded, there will be minor delay before it can be used. Estimated time until program is ready, three hours."

Lan was disappointed. "That's it?"

"That's it," said the PET.

Lan then slumped onto the desk, completely disappointed that he would have to wait up to three hours before he could use his PET. He then placed his PET back into the charger and walked up to his bed and lied down, his shoes falling off.

"And I thought it was the program for my personal NetNavi," said poor Lan. "Thanks a lot Dad…"

Downstairs, Haruka looked at the picture while sighing, "Like father like son. Our boy is turning out just like you."

Sometime later in Lan's room, the lights were out and Lan had fallen asleep. Suddenly his PET came back on and the program continued.

"Your customized personal download is not complete," said the computer. "Configuring data now…"

The program then began the processes of creating Lan's personal NetNavi. It had indigo biceps, with cyan stripes down its sides, ending at its blue boots which are tipped with black soles. It had two yellow shoulder guards and its blue helmet had two ridges running along the top. These ridges came to a stop at the helmet's base and allowed its dark hair to stick out in four spikes. It had green eyes and, unlike most other NetNavis, an overall human appearance. But most importantly, it sported the symbol of the Hikari family on its chest and both sides of its helmet. It now had the same height as Roll, standing at 148 virtual centimeters (roughly 4'9").

In the ruins, Dr. Alexander and his crew were waking up and found themselves inside small chambers and suspended using some kind of binding energy beams (similar to the ones seen in Star Wars).

"Hey, what's going on here," Dr. Alexander gasped. "Where are we?"

"You and the rest of your intruder crew are being held for questioning," said the knight as he made his presence known once again.

"It's you," Dr. Alexander gasped. "Why do you want to question us?"

"I'm asking the questions here," said the knight as he pulled out a crooked sword from the mouth on his right hand. "Identify yourself."

"I'm Dr. Elvis Alexander," said the doctor. "I'm an archeologist working for Dr. Yuichiro Hikari."

The knight then widened his eyes upon hearing that name. "Did you say you work for Dr. Hikari?"

"Yes, I did," said Dr. Alexander. "How do you know about him?"

"It's a long story," said the knight as he deactivated the binders in all the cells. "One I believe will be easier to explain without restraints."

The moment the archeologists were brought down, the knight began explaining his reason for taking them into custody.

At Den Tech City, it was now morning and Lan woke up upon hearing someone call his name.

"Lan, Lan, Lan," said the voice. "HEY, LAN HIKARI…!"

Lan suddenly fell out of his bed. "Hey man, it's too early for all that shouting, okay?"

The voice then said, "Pst, over here."

Lan looked around.

"Here, inside your PET," said the voice.

"In my PET," Lan asked as he looked towards his PET only to find a blue NetNavi in place of his old one inside.

"Hey rise and shine Lan," said the new NetNavi.

"Who are you," Lan questioned.

"I'm MegaMan," the NetNavi identified himself. "Nice to meet you…"

"MegaMan," Lan questioned.

"You bet, the one and only," said MegaMan. "I'm your custom NetNavi programed by your dad."

"My very own personal NetNavi," Lan asked.

"Takes you a long time to wake up, doesn't it Lan," MegaMan joked.

But Lan didn't seem satisfied with what he got. "I don't get it…"

"What's wrong," MegaMan asked with concern.

Lan then explained, "My dad I had a deal. He promised me that he would program my own NetNavi when I got into the Fifth Grate. But…"

"But," said MegaMan, wanting to know what Lan was trying to say.

"You're not what I had in mind at all," Lan explained. "I was expecting a NetNavi with a bigger body, a really strong warrior."

"So," said MegaMan.

Lan then dropped his head and said, "I want my old NetNavi back."

"Wait a second," MegaMan tried to defend himself, but was cut off when he noticed something was off. "What's that…? Lan, in the kitchen…!"

Lan was caught off guard, but then he heard his mother calling out to him. Acting quickly, Lan ran for the kitchen with his PET only to find the oven on fire just like all the others across town. After Haruka explained that she couldn't put out the fire, Lan grabbed a fire extinguisher and started putting out the fire the old faction way. Unfortunately, while it worked at first, the flames came back up almost instantly.

"The flames are too strong," Lan gasped. "The computer system is out of control…!"

MegaMan then got an idea. "Lan, Lan, jack me into the oven's computer…! I'll be able to scan the net and check things out."

"There's no time," Lan told MegaMan.

"Just do it," MegaMan ordered.

Not wanting to waste time arguing Lan agreed and used the fire extinguisher to put down the flames allowing him to get close. Once he was close enough Lan jacked MegaMan into the computer.

"JACK IN, MEGAMAN…!"

The moment MegaMan was jacked in he found hundreds of computer viruses causing damage to the oven's computer software. They were all CanDevil and Mettaur viruses and MegaMan knew he had to stop them before any more damage could be done. Acting fast, MegaMan's right arm changed into a cannon and he charged it up before firing at the viruses.

"MEGA BUSTER…!"

After charging up his Mega Buster cannon, MegaMan fired several shots at the viruses, destroying (or deleting) them in the process.

"VIRUSES DELETED…!"

Several viruses were deleted all at once. This process continued until every last virus was deleted. Once all the viruses were deleted, MegaMan noticed something else behind him. There was a silhouette of what appeared to be a NetNavi shaped like a humanoid touch behind a wall of flames.

"Oh Blazes," said the NetNavi. "What have you done, meddling NetNavi…"

The NetNavi then disappeared along with the flames he was surrounded in, leaving MegaMan very confused. "What was that?"

In the real world, the flames from the oven went out, now that the viruses and the mysterious NetNavi were gone. With that in mind, Lan logged MegaMan out.

"Jack out," said Lan before celebrating. "That was great…! You were great MegaMan…! Forget what I said before about you being too small…!"

MegaMan was flattered by Lan's comment.

"And do you know what else, I'll bet you're even strong enough to beat Dex's GutsMan," said Lan with enthusiasm. "Hey, we could kick butt at the N1 Grand Prix Net Battles."

MegaMan agreed.

At the ancient ruins in Borneo, Dr. Alexander and his men were listening to what the knight was telling them. The knight had identified himself as Duskmon and was now explaining his role here and the reason he attacked and captured.

"Long ago, there was an ancient yet advanced civilization known the island of Mu," said Duskmon. "They were among the most advanced people of their time. Only the people of Atlantis could match their technology."

"This was part of the lost continent of Mu," Dr. Alexander gasped. "Then this truly is the find of the century. But how did it disappear? What happened?"

Duskmon continued, "The people of Mu lived peacefully alongside creatures from another dimension. Unfortunately, the peaceful society was too good to last. One day, three beings known as the Three Heralds, who were the guardians of both worlds, battled one another. The collision of their attacks was so great that it destroyed Mu, forcing its inhabitants to flee to the other continents. Eventually, the heralds fell to sleep and Island of Mu was lost."

"Until today," said Salavar. "But that doesn't explain how you knew Dr. Hikari."

"My NetNavi has a point," said Dr. Alexander. "How do you know Dr. Hikari?"

"We had our ways," said Duskmon.

The archeologists were intrigued.

"And what happened to the Heralds, if I may ask," said Dr. Alexander. "Where are they now?"

"They reside in three crystalline capsules located somewhere in this vessel," Duskmon explained.

"Could you take us to them," said Salavar.

Duskmon was reluctant, but seeing that Dr. Alexander and his team were working for Dr. Hikari, he told them, "Very well, but be careful. Awaken them and you might unleash a power beyond your comprehension."

In Den Tech, Lan and Dex met as they made their way to school, Lan on his roller blades and Dex on his scooter.

"Hey Dex," said Lan as he caught up to him

"Lan," said Dex, surprised to see Lan so soon. "I'm surprised you'd show your face around here after losing to me yesterday."

Lan replied, "I challenge you and GutsMan again. Meet me in the study hall after school."

Dex got a smirk on his face and laughed, "You must like losing."

"Now way," Lan said with confidence. "Tomorrow, you won't be showing your face."

"Oh yeah, we'll see," said Dex as he and Lan raced to school.

"Hey, Lan," said MegaMan with a concerned look on his face. "Do they actually let you have Net Battles in school?"

"Not really," said Lan with confidence. "But if you won't tell anyone, I won't."

Lan and Dex then entered their school and went straight to their class.

Moments later, Lan and Dex sat in class with their fellow classmates including Maylu as they waited for their teacher to arrive. It didn't take long for their teacher, who was a young woman who was most likely in her mid-20s named Mariko Ozono, aka Ms. Mari, to arrive.

"Good morning class," said Ms. Mari.

"Good morning Ms. Mari," said everyone.

"Alright then, for today's subject, we will be talking about macro worms," Ms. Mari explained as she took out her book, the students doing the same. Once Ms. Mari explained what a macro worm was, she began explaining what it could do. "So a macro worm can attach itself to a program and then travel undetected as an attachment to standard E-Mail. Once it wiggles into a computer system, it will duplicate itself and start more infections…"

While Ms. Mari was explaining, Dex sent GutsMan to the school's computer system to meet up with Role, carrying a message for her and Maylu.

In the Cyber World, Role was standing next to what appeared to be a table when GutsMan appeared.

"Hey there, GutsMan," said Role. "How's it rolling?"

GutsMan walked up to Role like an ape and said, "Dex likes Maylu, Guts, wants to take her to movies, Guts…"

Sadly, Role told him, "Come on get real, GutsMan, she has piano lessons."

"No movies," GutsMan asked.

"No way," Role answered.

But GutsMan wasn't giving up and said, "Then GutsMan will take Role to movies."

Role was confused and then the next thing she knew, GutsMan picked her up and attempted to take her to the movies. However, Role retaliated, forcing GutsMan to logout.

In the Real World, Dex place his hand on his cheek as if someone had slapped him there and got out of his seat. The pain then faded and he realized that he just made a fool of himself, much the Maylu's amusement.

"Settle down, Dex," said Ms. Mari, not looking too pleased. "The bell hasn't rung yet. If you're going to be sending email messages, do it after school."

Soon some of the other students laughed at Dex's misfortune. As Ms. Mari got everyone's attention again, Lan was speaking to MegaMan about what he saw earlier that day.

"An evil NetNavi," Lan questioned.

"Yeah, that's what it looked like to me, and it was fully engulfed in the cyber fire," MegaMan confirmed, remembering what he saw.

"Then the operator of that NetNavi is responsible for starting all of those terrible fires," Lan deduced.

"You've got that right," said MegaMan.

Elsewhere in the city, an old man was talking to a red-head man with a Scottish accent and a fire symbol on his vest.

"You're Fire Viruses were destroyed be a we bloke," said the red-head.

"Was it a do-gooder net agent who short-circuited my plans," said the old man.

"No, a NetNavi," said the red-head. "I wager a cart full of kilts on it."

The old man then said, "Mr. Match, if he shows up again, I want you to delete him."

"Aye, Mr. Wily," said Mr. Match before logging off.

Back at the ruins, Duskmon led the group to what appeared to be a special chamber. But when they got there, they found that the doorway was closed.

"The doors are closed," Dr. Alexander gasped.

"How observant," said Duskmon. "Those doors are locked and can only be open using a certain pass code."

"And what is that pass code," said Dr. Alexander.

"You didn't think I was just going to hand you the code, did you," said Duskmon, glaring a bit at the archeologists. "You may have mentioned that you work for Dr. Hikari, but I have yet to see any real evidence of that."

"Well it's not like we can just call Dr. Hikari right here and now," Salavar told him. "This place blocks out all communications."

"Are you sure about that," Duskmon questioned.

Just then as if on que, Dr. Alexander got a call on his cellphone. Answering the call, Dr. Alexander was surprised when he saw that it was Dr. Hikari.

"Elvis, are you there," said Dr. Hikari.

"Doctor," Elvis gasped. "Is that you?"

"Yes," Dr. Hikari confirmed. "Where have you been? We've been trying to communicate with you since yesterday."

"We've been out of touch for a while, Dr.," Elvis explained. "We were exploring the ruins when we came across this being named Duskmon who says he knows you."

"Are you certain," said Dr. Hikari.

"I'll put you on video and you can talk to him yourself," Dr. Alexander did just that and pointed a video phone at Duskmon.

"Dr. Hikari," said Duskmon with respect. "It is an honor to meet you."

"Uh, thanks I guess," said Dr. Hikari. "But how do you know me."

"We had our ways," Duskmon explained. "More importantly, we know about your son, Lan Hikari."

Dr. Alexander then turned the camera back to himself and said, "He says he's taking us to the chamber of what he called the Three Heralds. Only problem is, the doors are closed and he wouldn't give us the code to open them unless he knew for certain that I worked for you."

"Is that right," said Dr. Hikari as Dr. Alexander turned the camera back to Duskmon. "Well… Duskmon what is… Dr. Elvis Alexander is one of my employees. He's the head of my archeology division."

"How can I be certain," Duskmon asked.

"I understand that you're still suspicious of us," said Dr. Alexander. "But I assure you that we mean you no harm, and just to prove it to you, we'll pack our things leave. No one will ever know."

Dr. Alexander and his group then started to head for the exit. But as they walked, Duskmon called out.

"WAIT…!"

They all stopped and looked back at Duskmon

"I cannot let you leave," said Duskmon, getting their attention. "This day was bound to happen sooner or later. I cannot let my pride get in the way or our culture will be lost to the hands of time forever."

Duskmon then walked up and uploaded the code needed to open the door into Dr. Alexander's PET.

"Elvis," said Salavar. "He just gave us the code."

Dr. Alexander then got into position and jacked Salavar in.

"JACK IN, SALAVAR, POWER UP…!"

The moment Salavar was jacked in, he came face to face with the cyber guardian once again. "This guy again?"

"What is the meaning of this," said Dr. Alexander.

"An extra precaution," said Duskmon. "I don't like this any better than you do, but in order to get through, you'll have to defeat that thing."

"Is that right," Dr. Alexander took out his collection of battle chips. "Well Salavar, time to get serious. Better brace yourself."

"Don't worry, Elvis," Salavar took up a fighting stance. "I can take it."

Remembering that this thing wasn't going to go down easily, Elvis realized that there was only one way of handling it. "Then it's time for a Program Advance. Volcano, Lava Cannon, Dragon's Flame, Battle Chips in, triple download…!"

Dr. Alexander downloaded three battle chips into his PET all at once. One had a picture of a Volcano virus blowing its top, one had a picture of said virus attached to what appeared to be MegaMan (for some reason) doing the same thing, and the last had the head of a Lavagon virus breathing fire.

All three Battle Chips were activated at once as a Volcano virus appeared on both of Salavar's arms and fire started forming in his mouth. At the same time, the cyber guardian started gathering solar energy through his wings and transferred said energy into his mouth. Moments later, both opponents fired their respective attacks.

"PROGRAM ADVANCE…!"

Salavar pointed both lava cannons at the guardian and fired a fiery laser beam from both them and his mouth.

"SOLAR DESTROYER…!"

The guardian countered with a solar-powered laser beam from his mouth that intercepted the program advance. The two attacks collided, resulting in a beam struggle, but one that Salavar barely won as the Program Advance barely managed to overpower the guardian's Solar Destroyer. When the Program Advance struck the guardian, it was sent flying away into who knows where.

At Den Tech, Lan and Dex had arrived at the study hall as they agreed and prepared to have their rematch.

"Here it goes Dex," Lan was the first to go. "Get ready…!

"JACK IN, MEGAMAN, POWER UP…!"

"JACK IN, GUTSMAN, POWER UP…!"

Within moments, MegaMan and GutsMan were jacked into the net battle arena. There they stood face to face, ready for battle.

Dex wasn't impressed. "Give me a break Lan. You're personal NetNavi is that wimpy little guy?"

Lan defended his NetNavi. "He's not wimpy, he's MegaMan."

But Dex just laughed, "You really think you're going to be my GutsMan with that tansy NotNavi?"

Lan countered, "You know, you can give up now if you want Dex."

"You're the one who'll give up," Dex laughed again before saying, "GutsMan, time to show little "blue boy" who's best."

"Go get him MegaMan," Lan shouted.

With that, their battle started and GutsMan struck his abs like a gorilla and he and MegaMan charged at one another.

Elsewhere in Den Teck, Maylu was at her house, doing her piano lessons as she said she would. She was already very good at this, even Role was pleased by her progress. Unbeknownst to them however, Maylu's oven received the exact same problems as all the others.

In the oven's computer systems, the NetNavi from before had arrived with a new legion of viruses. "Alright, wreck this whole place even if you have to break it down to the last hard drive disk…!"

Back at the school, GutsMan and MegaMan were still having their Net Battle. So far, GutsMan was the aggressor while MegaMan was avoiding and evading his every punch, that was up until he was cornered to a wall. With that in mind, Dex made his move. "Guts Stomp, Battle Chip in, download…!"

Dex downloaded a battle that had a picture of GutsMan's right fist glowing green into his PET. The Battle Chip activated and GutsMan's right fist grew larger. He then threw a punch with said fist at MegaMan and at first it looked like it was all over. But much to both Dex and GutsMan's surprise, MegaMan simply stopped the oncoming punch with nothing but his hand without using any Battle Chips what so ever.

"Alright, MegaMan," said Lan with confidence. "Blast him…!"

"Yeah," MegaMan then pushed GutsMan away with nothing but brute force.

MegaMan then came at GutsMan with a bombardment of punches. GutsMan crossed his arms to protect himself, but the force of the punches force him back. MegaMan then delivered a kick which sent GutsMan flying again and onto his back.

Now Dex was panicking. "Get up, get up GutsMan…! Don't let that little wimp beat you…!"

GutsMan tried to get back up but Lan and MegaMan weren't done yet.

"Wait till you see this," Lan pulled out a Battle Chip. "Cyber Sword, Battle Chip in…"

But right in the middle of Lan's actions, they heard Role calling for help. "Someone help…!"

Role herself then appeared right inbetween MegaMan and GutsMan with a worried look on her face. "It's Maylu, she's in trouble…!"

"Maylu, what kind of trouble," MegaMan asked.

Role then showed them what was going on threw an uplink screen. On there, Maylu was seen coughing as smoke filled her house. Role then explained that everything had exploded into flames.

"This can't be happening," said Dex with a worried look on his face.

"But it is happening," said Lan, remembering what happened at his house. "MegaMan, you've got to cyber link there through the internet…!"

"I'm on it," MegaMan turned to Role. "Alright Role, let's do this."

Role nodded and the two cyber linked over to Maylu's house.

"You go to, GutsMan," Dex told his NetNavi.

GutsMan complied and made his way to Maylu's house as well.

With both of their NetNavis on their way to Maylu's house, Lan and Dex made their way to the place as fast as they could. But what the two didn't know was that something else was also on its way to Maylu's house through the internet, something that the world hadn't seen for thousands of years.

At Maylu's house, Maylu was still coughing from the smoke when MegaMan, Role, and GutsMan arrived to save her. Upon their arrival, MegaMan saw exactly what he saw when Lan's oven had been infected.

"Talk about a firewall," said MegaMan.

The three NetNavis quickly got to work while the Scottish man from before watched through a screen.

"Well blister me bagpipes," he said. "TorchMan, delete that annoying NetNavi."

"Consider him scorched," said TorchMan as he entered the battlefield.

Meanwhile MegaMan deleted the last two viruses attacking the oven's computer network.

"Those were the last two," said MegaMan.

"Thank goodness," said Role. "You stopped them just in time MegaMan."

But Role gave her thanks too soon as a fireball came flying at them. The two NetNavis spotted the attack and jumped out of the way just in time. Moments later, the NetNavi MegaMan saw earlier appeared once again behind the flames.

"It's that NetNavi from before," MegaMan gasped.

"Who is this guy," Role questioned.

The NetNavi then showed himself and answered, "I am TorchMan."

TorchMan then aimed his right arm at the two NetNavi and told them, "Time to bring things to a boil…!"

"FIRE ARM…!"

In the Real World, the oven's alarm went off, warning everyone in the house to get out before it was too late. Luckily for Maylu, Lan arrived as this happened and attempted to rescue her.

"Maylu, are you alright," said Lan, trying to make sure she was still alive. "Maylu, speak to me…!"

Maylu opened her eyes and answered, "Yeah, I'm okay."

Dex then arrived just as Lan carried Maylu out of the house. The moment Lan brought Maylu out, he immediately brought her over to Dex just as MegaMan called him through his PET. Looking at the screen, Lan could see that MegaMan was in trouble while trying to hold back TorchMan.

"I've got to upload a Battle Chip to MegaMan before it's too late," Lan noted before looking at Dex. "Dex, I'm leaving Maylu with you."

Lan then went back inside the house, much to the shock of Dex and Maylu.

"Wait Lan, no," Dex called out.

In the oven's computer network, TorchMan continued to shoot fire at MegaMan, Role, and GutsMan. The three NetNavis tried their best to hold their own, but there was literally too much fire coming at them.

Then just as TorchMan moved in for the kill, GutsMan made the rash decision of charging it at him head-on. MegaMan tried to stop him but it was no use. TorchMan shot a huge amount of fire at GutsMan, so much that GutsMan was sent flying in the opposite direction and was forced to log out, much to Dex's shock.

"GUTSMAN LOGGING OUT…!"

"No, he's logging out," Dex gasped. "GutsMan…!"

Back inside the house, Lan managed to plug his PET into the oven's computer system just in time to help MegaMan. "You ready, MegaMan?"

MegaMan heard Lan's voice and answered, "It's mega time."

"Then Blaster, Battle Chip in, download," Lan downloaded a battle chip that had a picture of what appeared to be MegaMan's Mega Buster cannon on it.

The moment that chip was downloaded, MegaMan's right arm changed into said cannon and he fired multiple energy blasts at TorchMan from that cannon.

"Now Cyber Sword, Battle Chip in, download," Lan then downloaded the Cyber Sword Battle Chip, giving MegaMan the same sword his original NetNavi used on GutsMan the previous day.

Instantly, MegaMan's right arm changed into said sword and he charged at TorchMan, slicing off his left arm in the process.

"Oh no," TorchMan and Mr. Match said simultaneously.

Not wanting his NetNavi to be deleted, Mr. Match told him, "Log out, TorchMan."

"TORCHMAN LOGGING OUT…!"

Doing just that, TorchMan logged out and everything went back to normal, or so it appeared.

From a distance, a mysterious figure had watched the whole thing unfold and was intrigued by what it saw. However, before MegaMan or Role could detect its presence, it also logged out and made its way to another location.

At the Ruins, with the rematch battle won, Salavar made his way to the access terminal and entered the code. Once the code was in, the doors opened up and the archeologists entered the chamber and beheld what was inside. There were the three crystals that contained the Three Heralds.

"Oh my god," Dr. Alexander gasped. "These must be the Three Heralds."

"Better be careful, Elvis," said Salavar. "There's no telling what could happen if you touch those crystals."

"Tell me something I don't know," said Dr. Alexander.

Suddenly, the crystals started glow for some reason and the room was cloaked in a blinding light. When the light faded, the heralds were gone, much to the surprise of the archeologists.

"Doctor, what the hell just happened," said one of the archeologists.

"I don't know," said Dr. Alexander.

"Damn it," Duskmon punched the wall, getting the archeologists' attention. "Damn that Viruah, he had this planned out from the start! How could I have been so blind…?"

"Duskmon, what's going on," Dr. Alexander questioned.

Duskmon explained. "When the Three Heralds were sealed into that crystal, one of them conditioned it so that if someone just entered the room, he would be free. The other 2 conditioned theirs so that if the third ever escaped, they would also be free. I was told this beforehand, but After all this time, I completely forgot. Now it is too late. The Heralds have been unleashed!"

In Den Teck in the aftermath of the fire in Maylu's house, ambulance came by and inspected Maylu for any serious injuries from the fire. Fortunately, they were able to determine that she had not been seriously harmed and the smoke she inhaled didn't do any permanent damage to her lungs. Naturally, Lan was relieved that his friend wasn't in any danger, but Dex was wining about GutsMan's loss.

"I'm so relieved Maylu wasn't hurt," Lan sighed. "And I've got to say, we have you to thank, MegaMan."

"Hey come on, I didn't take on old Smoke and Choke all by myself," MegaMan informed Lan. "You came up with all the moves."

"So you'll always be there the help me no matter what," Lan asked.

"Just ask," MegaMan answered.

Afterwards, Lan and MegaMan got into a bit of a debate on Lan's homework, with Lan telling MegaMan the he could do his homework for him and MegaMan countering by telling Lan that he'll never learn if didn't do it by himself. At the same time, Dex continued to wine about GutsMan's defeat at the hands of TorchMan. But unbeknownst to them, the same mysterious figure was watching from afar, but this time in the real world. Now he was joined by a nother individual.

"How interesting," said the first figure.

"Indeed," said the second figure. "Do you believe that they have what it takes?"

"Only time will tell," said the first figure. "In the meantime, what brings you here?"

"I'm here to deliver a report," said the second figure.

And that was chapter 1. Now as you can see, I let the events of the original anime play out while also having a side plot with new characters, archeologist Doctor Elvis Alexander and his NetNavi Salavar. Also I introduced the Program Advanced early on, but have it be used by someone other than MegaMan and Lan. I nice little way to have a look at it before Lan ever gets to use it. Like with Digimon Adventure: Six Paths, each chapter will be a retelling of the an episode from the anime MegaMan NT Warrior and I'll be using the English names of each episode as I go along.

Now the next chapter will have Lan and MegaMan go up against World 3's Count Zap and ElecMan, and if you're wondering about the myserious figures, I'll reveal them in the next chapter.

Chapter 2: Subway Scramble!
