The group soon returned to the Sanctuary as Professor Xavier was seen waiting for them.

"That was a most impressive victory over Abyss. He has a reputation as a vicious opponent." Professor Xavier said. "Now that Genosha has been freed we can return to the X-Mansion and formulate a plan to rescue Polaris from Apocalypse."

"Sounds like the best plan for right now." Al said. "We'll follow you guys in the X-Jet from our ships."

Meanwhile...

Xavier Institute for Higher Learning

Salem Center, New York

"Honestly, Charles, I don't mind if everyone is helping out with relief in Genosha." A familiar blue-furred ape-like X-Man said. "An empty mansion means I can concentrate on locating Apocalypse's base."

"Understood. Have a pleasant evening, Beast." Professor Xavier said.

"And you as well, Charles." Beast said, turning off the monitor as he soon growled and turned to see Apocalypse himself along with two soldiers enter the room.

"I had come here for the Xavier Protocols, but I can make use of you as well." Apocalypse said as Beast tackled him into the hallway and managed to land a few punches before Apocalypse caught one and held Beast by his neck before tossing him out the second-floor window as he fell to the ground unconscious. "Let's get to the sub-basement, we can deal with our new pet later."

Beast was then loaded onto Apocalypse's ship as it then began taking off as Apocalypse looked down at the mansion.

"You'll be blind without Cerebro, Xavier. Hahahahaaaaaaaaa!" Apocalypse laughed as the mansion was soon blown apart.

It was later that the group reconvened in the Savage Land, a tropical prehistoric land located in Antarctica at the base of the Palmer Coast.

"Apocalypse has indeed grown bold. For him to march into the X-Mansion and kidnap Beast is incomprehensible." Professor Xavier said.

"Yes. An attack like this proves that he doesn't mess around." Cheetah said.

"If it wasn't for that message Beast left behind on the ground back at the mansion, we never would've come here to find him." Miriam said. "And now he's being held captive somewhere in this jungle."

"Not only that but Pyro is concerned about Mystique since she went off into the jungle canal to search for a friend of hers." Tear said.

"Well, if it's a trek in the jungle, we've got our best tracker right here." Agito said.

"Yeah, Cheetah can smell their scents and pinpoint them, no problem." Cheetah said.

"Yes, she has been gone for quite a long time. Good luck to you all." Professor Xavier said.

"Alright, Barbara. We'll be counting on you." Poison Ivy said.

"Leave it to me." Cheetah said.

The group soon made it to the Jungle Canal thanks to Cheetah's keen senses as Mystique was seen running up to them.

"Are you Mystique?" Zamzenta asked.

"Yes, that's correct." Mystique said. "I'm here looking for my friend, Destiny. She came to the Savage Land because she had a vision that Apocalypse would start a world war. She had hoped to escape the danger. But I haven't heard from her in a very long time."

"A world war? I mean, things are already looking pretty bad." Zenji said.

"That's why Destiny foresaw what would happen." Mystique said.

"We can help you look for her then, we can cover more ground that way." Al said.

"Very well. You go one way, and I'll go the other. Good luck in your search." Mystique said before she took off.

"Let's keep moving. She couldn't be far." Cheetah said.

The group made their way through the Jungle Canal as they dealt with people-sized Cobra Beetles and a few dinosaurs known as Ravagers as they soon reached the heart of the canal and standing before them was a man whose skin was completely made of stone.

"You fools. Apocalypse spoke so highly of you and yet you walk into my trap." The man said.

"Trap? What do you mean?" Toya asked.

"Why this one." the man said forming cages from the roots underneath them. "I am Garokk, God of the Sun here in the Savage Lands."

"But forming cages with roots is not a good idea." Poison Ivy said.

"What do you mean?" Garokk asked.

"Why this." Poison Ivy said as she merely touched a root and the cages dispersed.

"What is this?!" Garokk said.

"You really thought you could hold someone like me with plants? Are you sure you're really a god?" Poison Ivy asked.

"Indeed, you shouldn't have patted yourself on the back just yet, Garokk." Mystique said, entering.

"You are a terrible strategist. If Ishihara or Leopardmon were here, you would've been dead on the spot." Cheetah said.

"How dare you! I will destroy you all!" Garokk said.

"Well, maybe it's time we dropped the hammer on your stone-hard body." Eze said.

"Time to bring him down to earth." Koren said.

"Agreed." Duran said. "You'll feel this one!" he said, jumping into the air and stabbing his sword into the ground, unleashing a burst of energy before a wave of magma was launched towards Garokk.

"Take this. Explode!" Koren said as a pulse of fire surrounds Garokk before bursting.

"Let me help. Heavens' mercy...Meteor Thrust!" Riesz said, creating clones of herself as they repeatedly thrusted their spears onto Garokk before Riesz jumped high into the air and executed a powerful downward impale attack.

"Impossible! You cannot have defeated me!" Garokk said before falling unconscious as a woman came running out from a part of the jungle as she had green goggles over her eyes.

"Destiny, are you alright?" Mystique said.

"Yes, my arm is bruised but it will heal." Destiny said. "Ah, Spirit Force and Reformed Society, my visions foretold of your arrival. And I also have news of the X-Man called Beast. I overheard Garokk say he's being held in a Nuwali Temple. Shanna will be able to tell you where it is back in Avalon."

"Thank you for your help in locating her, Cheetah." Mystique said.

"It's no trouble at all. I'm quite at home in environments like this." Cheetah said.

"Well done, team. Now that you solved the mystery of Mystique's disappearance, we have a new danger to deal with. Return to Avalon immediately and speak with Angel. Apparently someone will soon be attempting to destroy the Savage Land." Professor Xavier said.

"...Understood, Professor." Cheetah said.

"Are you alright, Cheetah?" Miriam asked.

"Yes. It's just that I couldn't believe that Apocalypse would stoop so low as to destroy this place." Cheetah said.

"Well, I promise we'll stop the Horseman in charge before he even has the chance to do so." Ace assured.

"I know we will." Cheetah said.
