The group soon returned to the Weapon X Facility as they saw Professor Xavier waiting for them, but with a troubled expression.

"Good job at the Madri Temple. It has been completely disbanded. But I have some bad news. While on a reconnaissance mission of Apocalypse's Tower in New York City, Angel was captured. I do not know his fate, but I can only imagine the worst." Professor Xavier said.

"He may have been turned into the fourth Horseman." Simon said.

"Don't you think it's a little too soon to expect the worst?" Guy asked.

"Hold on a second, Guy. Think about it for a second." Luke said.

"He's right." Aya said. "This may be our chance to kill 2 birds with one stone, defeating Apocalypse and saving Angel, along with Emma and the others."

"But why Angel, though? What qualities did he have that fit a Horseman of Apocalypse?" Riesz asked.

"We can figure that out when we confront him." Cheetah said.

"Yeah, and the first thing we're gonna do is take back New York City." Ace said. "Let's do this, everyone!"

Meanwhile…

In a lab in Apocalypse's tower, Apocalypse examined one of the containment tubes as he put a hand on it.

"How may I be of assistance?" Mr. Sinister said, suddenly popping up next to Apocalypse.

"What of the spy we captured?" Apocalypse asked.

"He has adapted to the genetic splicing even better than hoped." Mr. Sinister answered.

"Show him to me." Apocalypse said as Mr. Sinister typed in a few keys on a control panel as they both approached a metal capsule as it slowly began to open. "Angel, come forth and meet your master." he said.

The capsule fully opened to reveal Angel, except his skin was blue and his wings were metallic as he wore a dark blue jumpsuit with dark pink lines that covered his entire body save for his voice.

"The name 'Angel' no longer applies." Angel said in a metallic voice.

"So what are you now? Some kind of...archangel?" Captain Cold asked. "I know, I know, completely obvious upgrade, but it's the one thing that fits."

"He...certainly doesn't look like any archangels I've heard about." Riesz said.

"What would you have us call you?" Apocalypse asked.

"I am Archangel, a Horseman of Apocalypse, and I am yours to command." Archangel said, stepping out of the pod.

"Wait, he actually went with it?" Guy asked.

"It would seem so, an Angel of Death huh?" Simon said. "Seems fitting."

"Your speed and strength have been augmented but what of your soul?" Mr. Sinister asked as he grabbed a knife and threw it at Archangel who caught it in the blink of an eye.

"My soul is filled with hatred, rage and death...for the X-Men along with Spirit Force and the Reformed Society." Archangel said.

At the ruins of the X-Mansion…

The group soon arrived at what was left of the X-Mansion from Apocalypse's attack as it laid in shambles.

"Even though this isn't the same X-Mansion we've been to, seeing this place in ruins again is horrible." Al said.

"Welcome to my home - Or rather, what's left of my home. Apocalypse was quite thorough in its destruction." Professor Xavier said. "I can only hope Angel takes strength from the fact that our mission in Canada was a success. The Core and the Infinite Factory were disabled and the Madri Temple disbanded. In light of that, Apocalypse's plans of conquest have been quashed."

"Yes. Apocalypse doesn't have much ground to stand on now. What's left now is to take the fight to him. But first…" Cheetah said.

"We must free the millions of people of New York from Apocalypse's tyranny. For your first missions, talk to Moira or Havok, good luck to you all." Professor Xavier said.

"I'll take the mission from Moira. Zamazenta, can I trust you to take a group with you for Havok's task?" Cheetah asked.

"You have my word." Zamazenta said with a bow.

"Alright, let's get started then." Kagura said.
