It was winter break at UA academy and as such most of the students and staff had either gone home or were out on their work studies. With only a few remaining Toshinori decided it was the perfect time to confess. Either the man he had taken interest in would return his feelings or he would be turned down and have a chance to sort himself before classes started back.

It didn't take much effort to find the raven haired man. He was of course in his classroom making sure everything was in order while his students were all out of his way. Toshinori was beginning to feel nervous as he stood at the door watching the man put things away in a cabinet at the back of the room. Finally he steeled his nerves and gave a light knock at the doorway before walking in. If he could face down the world's worst villains surely he could get through one confession, even if it had been many years.

Aizawa looked back over his shoulder, taking in the sight of the tall, skinny blond and waited. He knew Toshinori well enough to know if he approached then it meant he had something to say. After working together for nearly a year he was even able to notice slight differences like how the man walked. Normally Toshinori had a pretty laid back and confident walk but now as he approached it was more mechanical and timid. Aizawa wondered if the man was about to say something to anger him, if that was the reason behind his odd behavior.

Toshinori stopped a few feet away, not sure how the usually short tempered man would respond, and started talking. "I know we haven't known each other all that long but I really like you Aizawa", he tried his best to keep his words smooth and unrushed. "Would you please go out with me some time?" He held his breath.

Aizawa took no time at all to reply. "I'm busy", he said as if it were just a normal question and Toshinori's stomach dropped a little.

"Right sorry", the blond replied dropping his eyes and trying his best to force a smile. After all it was only natural for him to smile when he was scared and in this case he feared he might ruin the newly forming friendship they had been building.

Aizawa could see straight through his fake smile and a part of him hated that it was just for him. He preferred when the man gave genuine smiles. After all he had done, he deserved one. "Maybe some other time", he added as he walked out the door. He really was busy.

Toshinori's heart felt lighter as he watched the dark haired man turn to go down the hall. He took this moment alone to recollect himself and think over the words that were said. He hadn't been turned down flat and had been told he might have a chance. With a new burst of energy he decided to collect his things from the teacher's office and return to his room in the teacher's dorm where no one could ask about his goofy smile.

As he made his way he tried to think of possible places they could go for their first date. He was completely smitten with Aizawa and wanted it to be perfect. In the beginning he thought they would never get along. He truly thought that the man hated him, but over time the distance began to fade and Toshinori had started to see past the man's usual blank expressions. Through his often glares and common lectures it was obvious that he was a very caring man, even before taking it upon himself to care for Eri. He was wonderful with the girl and beyond that, the way he would always crawl into his sleeping bag for naps and the calm expression on his face when he slept were both utterly adorable to Toshinori. There had even been several times where he couldn't help but to just stop and watch him sleeping so peacefully.

He could feel his face growing warm as he thought of that sleeping face, framed by beautiful dark hair, with soft lips surrounded by stubble. It was as he wondered how the stubble would feel that he heard a loud voice from the teachers room in front of him. His eye shot up as he realized what he had heard.

"He confessed?! To you?!", a voice beamed as though it came through a speaker. Toshinori knew right away that the conversation was about him. He knew that Aizawa was there talking to his friend and so there was no surprise when he spoke next.

"Keep it down Mic! If this gets out I swear I will kill you!", Aizawa sounded angry. There was a moment of silence.

"So what did you say?" Hizashi was much quieter with clear curiosity in his voice. Toshinori felt embarrassed to know they were talking about him. He knew he should probably leave but he too was curious to hear what Aizawa might say to his friend, so quietly he leaned his back against the wall outside and listened.

"I told him maybe some other time", Aizawa paused. "Man this is so irrational." The second part came out as a complaint.

"Yeah yeah let it out man. You obviously have more to say", Hizashi pushed his friend. Suddenly Toshinori felt bad that he was listening in. This was a conversation for friends and he was just about to leave when he caught the next part which held him in place.

"Sometimes he can be such a smiling idiot", Aizawa told his friend Hizashi with a smile that Toshinori could neither see or hear sign of. "You know I've hated AllMight for years..", he paused to take a breath.

Toshinori didn't wait to hear any more. 'He hates me?', he thought to himself as he pushed off the wall, feeling his heart squeeze in his chest. He couldn't listen to anymore and felt he had to leave, to be far away so he could think rationally. As he left, Aizawa continued.

"I blamed him for our reckless actions when we were kids. But after I actually met him.. After I met Toshinori I couldn't blame him for any of it. He's a good man who does his best and always puts others first so.. when he asked me so sincerely, how could I turn him down.. I like him Hizashi" Aizawa finished with a sigh.

"Man you got it bad", his friend teased.

"It's just irrational that he would pick someone like me", his voice was flat.

"Aw come on Shouta don't sell yourself short", Hizashi tried to lighten the mood but it didn't seem to work.

"He's just.. he's too good for me", he spoke as though he hadn't even heard him.

"Oh yeah you really do have it bad" Hizashi put his hand on Aizawa's shoulder as he sunk his head into his hands in defeat.

"Don't go spreading this around Hizashi."

"Just go for it man", he pulled his hand back to make a fist in the air. "Go find him and tell him how you feel. You deserve to be happy too."

"I'll tell him tomorrow", the dark haired man grumbled into his hands. The thought of being open with his feelings made him nervous.

"Oh no! You're not making him wait for an answer", Hizashi said as he surprised Aizawa, lifting him up by the arm. "Go tell him now!", he ordered as he pushed him to the door.

"He's probably already left for the holiday", Aizawa protested. "Besides I need to go check on Eri."

"Do you really think he would leave the campus before he gets your answer? He wants to go out with you so of course he's hoping you'll say something while everyone is gone." Hizashi was still pushing him to the door as he made his point. "Look his jacket's even still here so he must be near by. Go talk to him and then see Eri!"

Aizawa's eyes shot over to Toshinori's desk to see the long dark coat he had been wearing since the cold rolled in and sighed. Hizashi was right. Not just about Toshinori still being here but that he in fact had it bad. He swallowed his nerves and, grabbing his own coat, left to find Toshinori.

Toshinori wondered about aimlessly until after a while he found himself sitting on a bench outside. As he sat collecting his thoughts he felt heartbroken. He had honestly expected to be turned down but after being given hope he came to find out that the man he was coming to love actually hated him. As he sat he could feel the winter air sending chills straight through him but he didn't care. He didn't want to go home to the dorm and there was no way he could make himself go back for his jacket, knowing they may still be there. He also knew that if Recovery Girl caught him out like this he would get a lecture about having a death wish with his poor health but he didn't care about that either at the moment.

'He's hated me all this time. It must have been hard for him with me always around and yet..', he thought to himself, 'he was still trying to let me down easy. Aizawa really is a nice person.' Toshinori was too lost in thought to even notice the man approaching him.

"AllMight", he called as he walked the last few feet between them.

"Aizawa" Toshinori quickly stood, rigid from the cold. It only took him a moment to decide honesty was best. "I'm sorry but earlier.. I over heard your conversation."

Aizawa was shocked and could feel his face heating up as he hoped the cold would explain his flushed cheeks. "You heard that?"

"Yeah..", he replied in a defeated tone.

"So then you already know how I feel about you" Aizawa averted his eyes and ran his hand through his raven hair to rub the back of his neck nervously. "AllMight I..", he paused trying to find the words.

Toshinori watched him, feeling he was only trying to let him down easy and decided he would take the pressure away himself. "I'm sorry Aizawa", he turned away and gripped his chest as though his heart might shatter. "I'll leave you alone from now on." He could feel the pain in his heart deepen at his own words as he started to walk away.

Aizawa was shocked as he reached out for the blond but his words wouldn't come out. "Don't go", he wanted to say but no sound came as he watched Toshinori leave. When his phone rang he answered it automatically. He was annoyed to find his voice worked just fine again and as the voice on the phone explained why they needed help, he was barely listening. 'What was that?', he thought, 'It doesn't make any sense. Was he just testing to see if I would accept?' He was tired and confused. "No that doesn't make sense either", he mumbled to himself.

"Huh?", said the voice on the phone he had forgotten he was even holding.

"Uh nothing. I'll be right there", he said before hanging up. He would figure things out with Toshinori later.

Several days had gone by and Toshinori had successfully managed to stay away from Aizawa. He had not run into the man once but that was no feat during winter break. Now the teacher's Christmas party was coming up and of course he had been picked for Aizawa's secret Santa gift. He didn't even get to draw for it like the others. As it was, every year Aizawa had made a point of throwing away the random gifts that the others had given him. It was almost a test at this point and no one had managed to pass. Now that it was Toshinori's first Christmas party he was the only one who had not given the man a gift like all the other teachers.

He knew that Aizawa liked cats but he still didn't know what the man might keep. When he thought of how the man looked snuggled up in his sleeping bag he couldn't help but think it would be adorable to see him with a stuffed animal as well.

It was getting late as he made his way into the small toy shop and this was his last day to look for the perfect present. He wanted so badly to find a small stuffed black cat but it seemed the store was sold out. Then as he started to leave his eye caught a small white bunny with light blue eyes that seemed to glow. Sitting next to it was an even smaller version of the bunny. He couldn't help but think they were cute and so he bought them.

By the time he had made his way back to his dorm room his spirits had dropped. It would probably just be another gift to go in the trash at the end of the party, especially if he realized it came from him. It seemed like such a waste and so he decided he himself would cuddle up with it for the night. It should at least get used once before it ended up in the garbage. The other, smaller rabbit he felt would get much use as he had gotten it for Eri.

The next day at the party was pretty fun for him. He had been making small talk small talk with several of the other teachers as they asked what he had gotten Aizawa but he refused to tell. He had heard from Vlad that in some cases Aizawa didn't even open the presents and instead just took it wrapping and all. He hoped this would be one of those cases as even knowing it would probably be thrown out, he didn't want to see it himself. When Aizawa finally arrived he couldn't help but be nervous.

"Alright alright now that everyone has arrived it's time to open some peerresants!" Mic's loud, over enthusiastic voice rang through out the large gathering room. He had managed to get everyone's attention in a single moment. Aizawa who had been standing right beside him gave him a good punch to the arm and a glare. Most of the others didn't seem bothered at all as smiles lit up all around and people began to look for their present under the tree. Toshinori had no trouble at all finding the bag with his name on it and returned to his seat by Principal Nezu who held his own present in his lap watching everyone with a smile.

"So is there some sort of order to this", he asked the small furry animal as he noticed others opening their presents already.

"There's no particular order. Feel free to open it when ever you like" Nezu replied with a cheery smile.

"Uh ok. Thanks" Toshinori lifted his decorative bag and searched to find out who it was from to no avail. 'I guess when they say secret Santa they mean it', he thought. At the very least it made him feel better about not having put his own name on the two presents he had put under the tree. With a light tug he pulled the tissue paper out of the bag to reveal a long stripped scarf. As he lifted it up to get a better view Nezu's attention was caught.

"Oh that looks nice", he told Toshinori in his soft, excited voice. "It looks almost as soft as my fur. Try it on AllMight."

As he wrapped it loosely around his neck he noticed the principal was right. It did feel very soft, and warm too. He only wished he could thank the person who had gotten it for him. "It really is soft", he told him with a smile that soon dropped as his attention caught elsewhere.

From across the room came a small grunt which made him look up to see Hizashi elbow Aizawa. The blond was pointing straight at him as he whispered something to the startled dark haired man. He looked as though he might have been sleeping before the sudden jolt. Toshinori watched as Aizawa looked up to him with a tinge of surprise in his eyes that a moment later narrowed. The encounter felt awkward and as he turned away he noticed the two familiar presents still under the tree. They were the ones he had wrapped earlier that day for Aizawa and Eri. Looking around the room he noticed everyone else seemed to have already opened their presents. Mic had gotten what looked like a tube of hair gel, extra strength probably, and Nezu who had just been waiting and watching even had his present unwrapped, a new brush for the fur he loved so much. Only Aizawa was left. The rest of the presents were probably all for Eri.

As he looked back to the tree he saw Aizawa finally retrieving the gift that he had gotten him. "Oh are you finally going to open yours?", Nemuri teased. "We're very curious to see if you'll keep it this year."

Toshinori could feel a knot forming in his stomach. He had really hoped the man would wait to open it but that didn't seem the case. When Aizawa reached his seat his nerves grew even more as he told himself how silly he was being. Finally he couldn't take it, couldn't take another rejection in front of the whole staff. "Excuse me", he told Nezu as he stood and, still clutching the bag his gift gad come in, walked for the door. The room fell silent as they watched him grab his coat from the rack and leave before even putting it on.

Aizawa felt like he was the only one who understood the reasons behind his actions and as his eyes moved from the closing door to the present in his lap he spoke. "I think I'll just wait until later to open this", he said as he sat the box on the couch beside him and crossed his arms for another nap. The room was in an uproar but he didn't care. It was his choice and he would open it later when he was alone.

Winter break soon came to an end and the next few times they ran into each other all went the same way. Toshinori would be having a good time with the other teachers, his loud laughs coming down the hall until Aizawa walked in, to which the laughs then turned to muffled coughs followed by silence. Or as Aizawa would be teaching his class he would swear he had been seeing flashes of bright blond from the corner of his eye. Every time he looked there was nothing to be seen. It was beginning to really bug him. He tried to act like he didn't notice for a while but then finally as he looked over he could see. Toshinori's bright golden hair. The surprise in his glowing blue eyes said it all even before he ducked out of view. The man was clearly avoiding him and now it was making him mad.

He found it obvious the man was still interested in him. At this rate it would be out in the open by the end of the month, not to mention drive him insane. They needed to talk. He had tried to catch the blond several times already but every time he managed to get away. Today he was feeling determined. When the last bell rung to dismiss everyone from school he started his move. He told Ida to finish up with the others as he darted from the room. He was on his way to the teacher's lounge. They were going to have that talk even if it meant he would have to order everyone else out and literally corner him.

Aizawa burst through the door, eyes instantly locking onto the empty chair that was Toshinori's. He didn't even notice that he made half the teachers jump with his entrance. Some of the pro heroes even looked like they were ready to restrain him as if someone had broken in.

"Aizawa why do you look so frantic?"

He didn't bother to explain himself to Vlad but he did note that the man's tone, though normally boastful with competitive ego, was filled with concern. He just didn't have time for that right now. He was getting sick of this can and mouse game. "Where is AllMight?" His voice held clear agitation as he asked no one in particular.

"Sorry honey but we haven't seen him since this morning" Neruri's voice was also saturated in concern. Great. He would probably be getting an intervention tomorrow. Unsure where to look next he huffed a sigh and shoved his hands in his pockets as he left them all wondering what was going on.

"Do you think we should be worried for AllMight?", asked Vlad when the grumpy man had made his escape.

"I'd probably say so", Hizashi said in an I-know-something-more tone as as he grinned his small smile. Aizawa had not told him exactly what happened between the two but the fact he didn't want Hizashi to even start a conversation about the tall, skinny blond was enough. He knew his friend and had faith that today would be the end of Toshinori ignoring him. However despite what Aizawa had thought, the only reason Hizashi knew about the topic was because he was keeping an eye on his friend. Toshinori was in fact doing a great job at keeping his feelings for Aizawa from being noticed by most of the staff. They didn't have a clue other that the thought that the two were fighting.

When Aizawa made it back to his classroom he heard the distinct sound of someone shuffling. He took a good look around to confirm all of his students were gone and dismissed it as his imagination. It wouldn't be the first time his mind played a trick on him while he was so tired. His sleeping bag had been moved, folded neatly beside his podium by one of the kids probably. Suddenly a tinge of worry crossed him as he made his way to the yellow pile. What if who ever folded it had seen what was in it. He had to check and make sure it was still there.

He grabbed the neatly folded bag and plunged his arm into it before dropping it into a messy heap. In his hand he held a small stuffed bunny, while with glowing blue eyes. It was the first secret Santa gift he had ever accepted and there was a completely logical reason for it. While the others just wanted to pick something he would keep to pass the 'test' he knew that the man who picked this one out had only wanted to make him happy. On top of that, it simply reminded him of Toshinori. The bunny ears reminiscent of him back in his prime AllMight condition, the start white that shone as bright as his smile, and the glowing blue eyes that he wanted to see up close staring into his own. As he hugged it lightly to his chest he thought the best part was that it even smelled just like him. "AllMight you really are an idiot", he spoke aloud to the room he thought was empty.

"I was hoping you wouldn't notice me" Aizawa nearly jumped out of his skin at the sound of Toshinori's voice. He shot his eyes to the podium just in time to see a thin leg wrapped in dress pants relax and slide into view. "Sorry Aizawa. I guess I'm pretty bad at this distance thing."

Suddenly the raven realized it had been Toshinori who folded his bag neatly and even gathered his papers into a stack on the podium. Looking back, it was probably him as well who had been leaving a fresh cup of coffee at his desk in the mornings. "We need to talk", he told the man as he redirected his thoughts.

"Yeah I figured you were going to say that" Toshinori's voice was that of defeat, probably sure Aizawa had a long, angry lecture planned. He leaned forward hoisting himself up to his feet before breaking into a coughing fit. Aizawa watched as the coughs wracked through his body making him unsteady.

"You don't look so good", Aizawa told him taking a closer look at the man. His usual bright and watchful eyes looked heavy and tired. His face was a flush pink and when he pulled his hand back for a moment it was laced with scarlet red liquid. Aizawa was growing concerned and for good reason. Toshinori's cough worsened and threw him off balance as his head fast approached the floor. In but a fraction of a second Aizawa's fast reflexes shot his scarf-like capture weapon out to catch the thin man. His body shot forward before his mind could process what was going on around him. His hand reached out grabbing the man's thin but muscular arm that wasn't being used to diffuse his cough and catch the blood. "Are you ok?", he asked. Such a stupid question, of course he wasn't ok. He was coughing up blood and couldn't even keep his balance. Aizawa steadied the man through the last of the fit and secured his weapon back around his neck the best he could.

When Toshinori finally spoke it was breathy and low. "It's just a cold I'll be fine", he told Aizawa as he wiped his mouth with a handkerchief. "You don't have to worry about me"

"Bullshit" Aizawa lashed coldly as the other man made a few more wet coughs into the cloth. "Why are you even here when you are sick?" He was already becoming annoyed again but the next set of words just made his heart hurt.

"I wanted to see you, even if just from a distance." The distance had not been Aizawa's idea and now it was obvious to him that Toshinori didn't want it either, so why did it end up this way. Aizawa was debating what to say and what to ask when he watched the other man's eye drifted over to the stuffed rabbit on the floor. He wondered if seeing a rabbit would be enough, but as it went it was not. "You probably don't even realize that rabbit came from me, but it makes me so happy to see that you like it." Toshinori had a sheepish smile with his sad, tired eyes and Aizawa was just dumbfounded. Was he being serious?

"Of course I knew" Aizawa told him with quizzical eyes as he placed the man's hand on the podium to steady himself. When he was sure Toshinori wouldn't fall again he reached over to retrieve the stuffed animal from the floor and tuck it back into his sleeping bag carefully. "It smells just like your cologne after all this time." Before he turned back to the sick man he would swear he heard a light sniff and it made him want to smile in amusement. Perhaps he hadn't meant for it to smell like himself. He readied himself for what he knew would come next from the man as he turned to grab an arm and throw it over his shoulder.

"Ah you shouldn't be this close. I'll make you sick too" The man tried to pull his arm away from the younger man but he had no strength left after the fit earlier. There would be no way out of the talk now.

"Just shut up and let's go", Aizawa prompted him to the door. Toshinori listened and after they made it down the first hall, with pauses for coughs, he finally leaned in to the strong shoulders holding him up.

Toshinori grumbled something low into the cloth at his mouth and even though their heads were not even a foot apart, Aizawa had to ask him to repeat it. He pulled the cloth away from his flushed face and lightly cleared his throat to speak louder. "I've wanted you in my arms for a long time.. but not like this. I don't want to cause you trouble."

Aizawa's eyes went wide with the comment as he realized they were not alone. A young student with blond spiky hair that goes by the name of Bakugo just so happened to round the corner. The surprise on the normally angry looking face lasted only a moment but Aizawa wasn't taking chances. "It's his fever talking", he shot out quickly in a clearly annoyed tone.

Bakugo didn't say a word. He remained silent until after he passed the two only to then stop and give his two cents. "AllMight doesn't say things he doesn't mean.. besides why the fuck would I care what you guys do behind closed doors. Just another lame secret I gotta keep for that old man."

Aizawa didn't have to look back to tell that the boy was agitated. He could hear it clearly in his voice and, though he probably shouldn't be, he was glad for the arrogant brat's self absorbed disposition. It meant he wouldn't have to deal with rumors, that he wished were truth, to float around amongst his student and coworkers. However he was still angry of course at the older man's discretion and, after making a mental note to ask about the other 'secret' later, let him know clearly.

"Damn it you can't go around spouting that shit in front of people." He actually felt a bit bad scolding the man while he was in such a state and tried to be a little nicer for the next part. "I don't want to see myself on the news later about being AllMight's boyfriend so just stay quiet while I get you back to your room." He even gave a sigh to finish the sharpened point.

"Right sorry about that", Toshinori nearly whispered and Aizawa wondered if all the blushing could really be from the fever. He could feel the heat radiating from the man leaning on him but it didn't quite feel hot enough to be the sould cause. Never the less Toshinori remained quiet for the rest of their slow walk to his room.

"Where are your keys?" Aizawa had finally lugged the man to the door but short of kicking it in he would have to get a dazed Toshinori to do a little work too.

Hearing the voice of the man he was falling for seemed to knock off most of the daze he was in and replace it with a whole other type. He rummaged through the pockets he could reach quickly and without much grace as Aizawa still held him up with his shoulders under Toshinori's right arm. The keys were not in his back pockets, nor his front left or breast. Finally he patted down his right side and could feel the hard edged keys through the fabric, but he couldn't contort his hand to reach them. "They're in my pocket but I'll need my other hand to get them." He had expected the man to gladly release him so he could leave but he didn't. He held firm to Toshinori's arm which had been draped over his shoulder or the long walk. It had been a more comfortable position than Aizawa would had thought, probably due to their height difference, but he didn't want to let go just yet. He looked up to the bright blue quizzical eyes. "Aizawa?" Toshinori couldn't seem to make out the look on the shorter man's face before his eyes dropped and the shorter man made him jump.

Aizawa's free hand had slid it's way into his front right pocket so smoothly, his fingertips brushing gently against his tender thigh. At this point he knew even if he didn't have a fever he would still be beat red as the man ever so effortlessly hooked his finger through the key ring and pulled them out leaving an icy hot pleasure up toward his him. Toshinori felt helpless in the hands of this man. He wanted to ask him to do it again. He wanted to ask for more. He needed to be alone.

The clock of the lock stifled his inner thoughts and as Aizawa pulled hum through the doorway he also pulled him back to reality. "You didn't have to..", he started before he was cut off.

Aizawa's tone was flat and unreadable. "You already said you like me so I didn't think you would mind." By the time they had made it to the bed his demeanor had changed. Toshinori could see a glint of entertainment in Aizawa's eyes with a light grin that made him warry. "I didn't expect you to get so flustered though." His grin only grew at the blond's surprised expression.

The grin, the eyes, the way he had been nice, and most definitely the way his fingertips had felt against his thigh and hip. Toshinori was beginning to feel over whelmed by it all. He didn't know how to respond. "Maybe you should go Aizawa." He didn't wait to see how Aizawa would react before kicking off his shoes and rolling over in his bed to face the wall. It would be best if he were alone but that didn't seem like it was going to happen. Not a moment after he had rolled over he felt a strong callous hand grab his arm and pull him back. Then the hand, now joined by another began to work down the buttons of his soft cotton shirt undoing them one after the other.

"I'll go when I know you're ok", Aizawa proclaimed as he got to the fourth button, exposing the pale muscular chest of the thinner man. "You can't sleep comfortably in this." When a slinder hand slid around his wrist he found himself looking back up to the bright eyed blond, his breath catching in his throat.

Toshinori was looking back at him, his eyes barely visible as they peaked through the long, slender fingers that now shielded his face. He was beet red again and his vibrant eyes were on the verge of being consumed by the large dilated pupils at their center. The sight of him like this, so vulnerable and partly exposed was tugging tightly on Aizawa's reason. He wanted to see more, to drink in all he could but now was not the time for that. He needed to be composed. "What's wrong? Do you feel sick?" He was getting ready to find a waste basket before the next words sent a jolt down to his stomach.

Toshinori inhaled sharply before exhaling a sigh of defeat. "You're getting me worked up Aizawa." The blond's blue eyes were fixed on Aizawa's slowly flushing cheeks. The seconds of silence felt like minutes as they both waited for the other to say or do something. Finally Toshinori spoke again putting an end to the quiet daze. "You should go", he said letting his eyes drop to somewhere in the background as he finished, "before I try anything." The response he received was nothing like the lecture or disgust he had expected but instead was very 'Aizawa'.

"You're in no state for that kind of thing." Rational. Aizawa was always rational, at least he tried to be. When the slender hand released it's hold on his wrist he went immediately back to undoing the buttons of the cotton dress shirt which was growing moist from perspirations. "Besides", he added "I could easily over power you right now." In truth he wasn't entirely sure he could. When Toshinori had grabbed his wrist he found that despite the fact his fingers were thin and long, and even though the man was sick, he held an iron grip that felt nearly like a cuff. He wondered if it really came to it, would he be able to over power the once number one hero?

His hand worked fast and smooth to free the last few buttons from their fitted holes and he could now see the twisted edge of what must be the injury that felled the great hero. He wanted to see more of it. He was curious before but now he could see the edges that twisted and curved from just under the breast to the waist of the thin man. If the outline was this big alone then how far did it reach. He was curious, but he could see in the man a look of defeat and he didn't want to push any further. "Where are your comfy cloths?"

He was quickly pointed to a tall mahogany dresser where he found a drawer full of oversized white t-shirt. He heard a shuffling from the bed as he searched one drawer lower and found a set of dark plaid, fleece sleep pants. Satisfied that these cloths would be sufficient for the man to sleep in, he took the few steps back to the bed. He expected the blond to be relatively in the same place he had left him but was surprised to see the newly crumpled pile of cloths on the floor. Judging by the loose slacks Aizawa concluded the man must be in nothing but his underwear at this point as he laid back in the bed with his sheets nearly up to his arm pits. This only confirmed the younger man's suspicion that he didn't like for people to see his scar. As he looked up to the blue eyes he could see a furrowed brow and knew he was about to speak.

"I don't get it. Why are you helping me even after I heard you say you hated me?" There was obvious confusion behind the shadowed blue eyes that spread it's way across Toshinori's face in the form of a twisted frown.

"Is that the only part you heard of the conversation?!" Aizawa's words shot out of him as he lowered himself to the bed in a plop, letting his head fall into his hands. It made perfect sense now in such a messed up way. "Now I understand why you wanted distance", he couldn't help but chuckle into his hands but it was so low and light that it almost sounded like sobs.

Toshinori wasn't sure how to react. He propped himself up on his elbow and reached out to the younger man who seemed to know something he didn't. "Aizawa? What are you talking about?" Just before his hand reached the dark haired man's knee he watched as the hands that hid him fell to reveal a small smile with glistening tears that rolled down lightly flushed cheeks. With the dark eyes locked on him he found his hand changing direction to cup one of the man's cheeks, questioning him only with his eyes. He had never seen Aizawa act like this.

"You're an idiot Toshinori" Aizawa's smile was endearing and his eyes soft as he leaned gently into the hand as it wiped away a tear. The blond did his best not to read into the actions or the informal mention of his name.

"What did I do", he asked as he let his thumb trace lightly across the scar on the other man's cheek wishing he had prevented it. It was like a reminder that he was no longer able to protect everyone and the raven haired man could see it too.

Aizawa's heart hurt a little at the pained expression on the thin face that was watching him. He was not surprised at all to find the sick man in front of him worrying more about others. That is just who he was. "If you had been there to hear it all.. you would already know." As he spoke he found himself looking away, wondering if this was the best time to have this conversation, but it was the first chance he had been given. He would wait before saying more, to see if the man could figure it out on his own.

"Know what?", the blond coaxed a reply as his thumb still lightly traced the scar, his eyes never wavering from the face before him. "I don't understand."

It couldn't be helped. Aizawa who was normally blunt and to the point found himself wavering with his words. No matter, actions speak louder anyway and on top of that he was feeling relieved to finally understand the reason behind the other man's actions. Before he had a chance to back out he threw himself forward fast enough for the hand on his cheek to slip past his head as he moved himself closer to the other man. He pressed his hands into the bed on either side of Toshinori's stomach holding himself just inches away. Inches that slowly faded away as bright eyes went from dark eyes down to slightly parted lips and back. He couldn't back out now. "I really like you Toshinori", he let his lips graze the other's before locking them together in a gentle prolonged kiss. When he felt the slender fingers slide through his hair to find the back of his head he turned, leaning forward as long blond bangs brushed his cheek. "I never want you to go away again", he whispered only to receive a breathy reply.

"Shouta" Before he could pull back and see the man's reaction, strong thin arms wrapped around him causing them both to fall back onto the bed. Aizawa didn't resist as the arms tightened around his waist, instead he slid his weight to what he knew was Toshinori's good side and paused to hear what he had to say. "I really am an idiot huh?"

Aizawa found the comment oddly cute coming from the man and buried his smile into the crook of the other's neck relaxing at his side in the warm embrace. "You really are", he mumbled a muffled response. He could smell the man's cologne, feel his firm body half underneath him, and as he ran his fingers up Toshinori's chest to hold onto his shoulder he thought he heard a light moan. It wouldn't push the topic of course but mentally he noted that this was 100x better than the stuffed rabbit. This was what he wanted all along. The topic of moans could wait for later he thought to himself as he heard a slight difference in the breath of the man under him. He was already asleep and Aizawa himself could feel his own mind start to drift.

When Aizawa woke he was warm and relaxed, surrounded by a comforting air of cologne. The same cologne that his bunny had. It wasn't until he tried to stretch that he registered the arm around him. His eyes opened slowly from sleep to look at his surroundings. Toshinori was laying on his side, one arm draped over Aizawa's waist, a thinner leg over his own, and then he realized what he thought was a firm pillow was in fact another arm of the skinny furnace. He smiled to himself, snuggling up to the man one last time before attempting to pry himself from the grip.

As he lifted the arm as smooth as he could he suddenly found it reaching for a new, stronger grip as he was pulled tighter to the man. He found it endearing but he didn't have time to cuddle. He had no clue what time it was other than the fact the light that had been previously shining through the window was now gone. Togata was expecting him to pick Eri up around 6 which he was certain had already passed. He tried once more to free himself from his captor this time receiving only a muffled grunt. "Shouta" It was enough to make his heart flutter and his cheeks flushed as he quickly eyed the still sleeping man.

He was glad he hadn't woken him. The man needed to rest to get better. He only wished he had gotten some cloths on him before they had fallen asleep, but at least they had gotten to have the talk they needed. If Aizawa got sick from the close contact so be it. He found their new atmosphere well worth a few days of coughing and aching. Almost as if to prove his inner point he tugged the covers higher to Toshinori's shoulder and after brushing his long blond bangs out of his face, he gave a kiss to the man's sharp angled check. It must have tickled because the man under him wiggled into his pillow with a low muffled grunt that made Aizawa chuckle lightly as he turned away from the bed. He picked up the cloths he had fetched earlier, one from the edge of the bed and the other where it had fallen on the floor when the blond had pulled him down so suddenly, and folded them neatly. He sat them on the night stand beside the bed along with some bottled water and quickly made his escape to retrieve Eri with a satisfied grin.

The early morning light shone brightly through the large, half covered window as birds chirped and foot steps echoed lightly from the hall. It would have been a wonderful morning if not for the throbbing pain in Toshinori's head. He knew he must have slept a long time but his body still ached and his throat was dry. His head ached as he opened his eyes and promptly found a bottle of water on his night stand. The cool water was soothing and as he let half the bottle work it's magic on his parched throat he noticed a few things out of place. When had he lost his cloths? He was nearly naked sitting in his bed but he couldn't recall exactly when he had undressed. On top of that he noticed the set of cloths neatly placed beside where the water had been. Why had he not put them on?

He tried his best to recall the previous day but the last thing he could remember was Aizawa telling him to shut up. "Oh shit", he shouted nearly spitting out the water he had been drinking. It had just come back to him why the other man had to make such a comment. Aizawa had been lugging the sick man back to his room when he made a cheesy comment about wanting to have him in his arms and of course someone else had been there to hear it. He felt like such a fool and wished he could curl up and go back to sleep. Maybe he would wake up to find it was all a dream, or at least wake and not remember it happened at all. Sadly he had classes to teach today but on the bright side he was feeling better. He would have to apologize later and thank Aizawa for getting him home. Right now on the other hand he needed to get ready.

It didn't take long for him to be ready and out the door. He had on a fresh suit as the one from the previous day had become a wrinkled mess on the floor. When he had picked it up to hang it back on a hanger he noticed something black poking out from the covers on his bed. What he found was a small stuffed cat, which he now carried with him in his side bag. He figured it must be Aizawa's. Maybe he could give it back later when he apologized.

As he made his walk to the teacher's office to prepare for the day he noticed the odd way people were staring as if they were surprised to see him. Had his cheesy comment been leaked to the school? Were they staring because they were surprised he was gat? He couldn't say for sure and he wasn't quite sure he wanted to know.

Arriving at the office did nothing to quell his nerves. Aizawa who normally beat him there was absent and all eyes in the room had that same surprise in them. Most quickly averted their attention to other things but Toshinori could practically feel Hizashi's eyes scanning him up and down. It made him self conscious but just as he was about to say something he felt a tug on the back of his suit coat.

He turned sharp to see white fur and a set of black beads staring up at him. "AllMight may I have a word with you concerning Aizawa?", the small thing chirped. This was it, time to get a lecture about sexual harassment. As he followed the small mammal to the hall he wondered if he should try to defend himself.

"Principal Nezu if what I did was uncalled for I completely understand if Aizawa is upset but please allow me another chance to do better."

The principal turned and have Toshinori a quizzical look. "Why would Aizawa be upset about your confession?"

"So then that's not what you want to talk about?" Toshinori was lost now. If Aizawa hadn't gone to Nezu then how did he know he had confessed? It was one of the great mysteries of UA how the small furry thing seemed to know all that went on. At least now he knew Aizawa hadn't made a complaint as he waited to hear what the little one wanted to say.

"I wanted to ask if you could cover Mr. Aizawa's home room and a few other of his classes today as well." Nezu got straight to the point.

"Uh yeah sure. Is Aizawa ok?" Toshinori thought it was odd. Rarely did the other man miss work.

"He is unable to be here today but don't fret, I am positive he will be back tomorrow." Toshinori accepted the words with a bow and made his way back into the office. His conclusion, Aizawa must have caught his cold. Yet another reason for him to apologize.

Through out the day he found it hard to focus. He was worried about the other man who had been so nice as to take care of him. He felt he should do the same and so as his last class wrapped up he packed up his work for later and made his way to the teacher's dorm. The walk was short, too short for him to change his mind but still long enough to make him hesitate to knock. He took a deep calming breath and tapped his boney knuckles to the wooden door. This was something he had to do.

When the door creaked open Toshinori lost all thought of the apology he had planned. "You look rough Aizawa." He had been surprised by the sight of the dark haired man, his skin pale with darker than usual bangs under his unusually over irritated eyes. The red lined eyes stared back at him as if questioning whether his comment had been an insult before shifting aside to let him in. The blond was hesitant to enter but couldn't refuse as he continued to speak, filling the silent air. "I know you probably don't want to see me but I must be the reason you're sick so I came to check on you."

Toshinori had just closed the door behind him when the dark eyed man turned to him with a raised eye brow. "You don't remember last night do you?" The man's tone was flat but something about his words seemed to suggest disbelief.

"I remember a little", the blond spoke in his defense. "You got me back to my room and got me to bed, but it gets hazy after that." The man was now pulling at his long blond bangs nervously wondering what he had forgotten. When his eyes moved up to face the other he was greeted by a small, sheepish grin that made his flush. "You should be in bed resting. Let me help you", he tried to change the topic as he held his hand out to the other man.

Aizawa took his hand without hesitation. "The cat..", he spoke, letting his words trail off as his eyes wandered to the floor.

"Oh that's right! I woke up with this stuffed cat in my bed." With his free hand he pulled his plush animal from his bag and let his eyes linger on it. "It reminds me of you and", he paused, blushing a deeper shade, "It smells just like you." After realizing he had said the words out loud his blue eyes darted back to see dark eyes fixed on him. "Is it your?", he scrambled as he extended the object.

He was growing nervous as silent seconds passed, his mind shifting to their locked hands. When he tried to pull his hand away he could feel Aizawa's grip tighten before suddenly he felt a tug. Aizawa in one fluid motion had pulled him and stepped forward so that their bodies were pressed together. The smaller man's arm wrapped around him and he felt soft hair brush against his chin before the intoxicating smell moved over him. Toshinori had dreamed of a moment like this but he didn't quite understand what was happening. He let his arms wrap around the shorter man's muscular back to embrace him with Aizawa spoke. "I'm glad you like it."

The man's words implied that the animal now pressed to the firm back was a present but for what? "Uh. Did I miss something? What happened last night?" He hoped his questions wouldn't disturb the moment and his hopes were answered as he felt the raven haired man nuzzle his hand against him. He even caught the distinct feel of cheeks raising into a smile against his neck.

"You're an idiot Toshinori." The voice was soft and inviting.

"I remember you telling me that before but I don't remember why." The tall man was frustrated now. Something must have happened to make the man act this way and he so desperately wanted to remember. "Tell me what happened." When he felt the man start to push away his heart started to sink. Had he just ruined the moment? Would he ever get another chance to hold the man like this?

His hands had started to fall when he felt a sharp tug from his neck. Aizawa pulled his tie fiercely causing his head to drop and their lips to meet. The lips against his were warm and soft, surrounded by stubble that tickled his chin as they parted and suddenly he recalled this same stomach tingling happiness the night before. Toshinori wrapped his arms around the man and with a new fierce passion rejoined their lips letting his tongue graze and tease the other man into opening his mouth for exploration. "I really am an idiot", he pulled back to say only to have Aizawa pull him back down into the intoxication of their passionate kiss. "But if you'll let me.. I want to be your idiot." He finally managed to get the word out.

Aizawa let his kisses be his reply as he slid his fingers through the man's belt loops, coaxing him step by step to the bed at the back of the room. When Aizawa's hands moved from his waist up to slide the coat and jacket from the man's shoulders, Toshinori continued to follow him back, not ready for the interaction to be over. Suddenly hands around his neck pulled him down to the bed. "Shouta?", he asked checking on the man under him.

"I got you all worked up last night and I told you to wait." Aizawa's voice almost sounded like an apology as his fingers worked at the buttons on Toshinori's shirt.

The blond wondered when he had lost his tie but that wasn't important. He raised his hand to clasp one of the hands hard at work and was met with surprised black eyes staring up at him. After a moment of staring into the normally fierce eyes he let his hand glide up to caress the soft new scar that rest under them. "We don't have to rush. We can move at your speed."

"Toshinori?" Aizawa questioned as a small drop landed on his cheek.

"I'm just so happy to be close to you again, so we don't need to rush things."

The blue eyes looking down at him were filled with joy and what he could only feel must be love. It made Aizawa feel light and hot. He would wait if that was what Toshinori wanted but it couldn't hurt to steal another kiss. He shifted his weight back on his elbow to push himself forward planting another gentle kiss on the lips smiling above him before letting himself fall back on the bed. "I'm not sick", he told the man. "Eri caught a stomach bug and she wanted me to stay so I've been caring for her all night.. but I'm very glad you came." Aizawa's smile was small and rare but Toshinori was getting to see it a lot today. "Will you sleep with me?"

Toshinori was about to protest when Aizawa clarified he actually meant to sleep and not sex. "I just want you to stay and hold me", Aizawa told him with a lightly flushed face. How could Toshinori deny that, the man he loves asking for something so simple and perfect as to be in his arms.
