World's Best Mom

Pairing: Ritsuka (female) x Raikou

Genre: Friendship/Romance

Disclaimer: I do not own the Fate series or any of its charcters.

Author's Note: So…I'm getting really, really tired of Raikou x Ritsuka-KUN stories and doujins all over the place. I dunno about you all, but it's super boring, honestly. Sure there are fan art of Ritsuka-chan x Raikou, but barely any doujins or stories with them. So…I'm glad I'm here to change things.

Enjoy.

Standing in the cemetery, Ritsuka Fujimaru stares at the two coffins where her loving parents lay. They have been murdered during a hit and run. The father killed trying to protect his family and the mother stabbed to death and ran away soon after. Ritsuka-chan was left to survive, which was sort of lucky for her. But that doesn't change the fact that her loving family fell apart. She grieves over the coffins of her loving parents during the funeral. Her relatives do the same thing and try to comfort Ritsuka-chan as best they can.

The cute red-head is 16-years-old, a second year in high school when this happened. And right now, she is living with her grandmother, who is super nice and gentle. Her life may be a wreck, but when it comes to her grandmother, everything is okay. She takes care of the house, cooks food and spends quality time with her grandmother.

Ritsuka-chan likes school as well. She is best friends with cute and shy girl named Mash Kyrielight, who is in the same class as her. She is athletic in P.E, but has slightly poor skills in academics, which results her in taking supplementary lessons from time to time. It's a drag, but she has to go with it. All in all, her life is not too bad.

Right now, at home, Ritsuka-chan is cooking dinner for her grandmother, who is watching television, having the news channel on.

"Dear?" the grandmother asks.

"Yes, Obaa-chan?" the redhead calls back.

"I have been hearing something about strange beings roaming around," the grandma says. "I just want to warn you, when you go walking in the forest, do not go too far. Some of these beings are very dangerous and can seriously hurt you."

"Hehe~! Don't worry, Obaa-chan!" the redhead says. "I'll make sure I will keep myself safe."

"That's a good girl," the grandma says and turns back to the television.

The redhead continues cooking while having some thoughts in her head. What ARE these strange beings that her grandmother is talking about? Could they be some demons? Or animals? Ritsuka-chan has heard of strange creatures like that and killed people on the spot. She also has heard of some legends about samurai and other warriors being there to protect the people. But…they vanished without a trace. Now that there were none left, could it be that these strange beings found an opportunity to strike again? Now the redhead is really worried.

After serving the food, the two of them say Grace and begin to eat. The grandmother gives lovely praises to her granddaughter's cooking and Ritsuka-chan smiles and nods in response. Their meals together are always so wonderful. She loves her grandma very much. Although her life with her grandmother may not last long, at least she can do is try and spend as much time with her as possible.

The next three days, the news of these strange beings spread and people were getting killed on the spot and roaming around, searching for whatever or whoever to kill on sight. Ritsuka-chan does not want to take walks now just because of that. However, today, they are running low on groceries, which means she HAS to get out there and buy some. She gathers some courage and creates a list of things to buy. She then heads out, saying good-bye to her grandmother.

Lucky for Ritsuka-chan, the strange beings are not roaming around this area, so she is able to pick up the items that are needed except for one and rushes to head to that isle.

However, she doesn't look where she is going when she suddenly bumps into a beautiful young woman with very long purple hair with a large ribbon tied at the end of it. She is wearing a purple sweater and blue jeans.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Ritsuka-chan bows in shame and picks up a wallet. "This….must be yours right?"

"Ara…yes." The young woman gently takes the wallet and smiles a gentle smile. "My apologies, miss."

"No, no, it's my fault," Ritsuka-chan bows again. "I should've looked where I was going."

"No worries~" the young woman says. "Anyways, you should run along now. You seem to be in a big rush."

"Oh, yes, sorry," the red-head says. "I'll get going then. See ya!"

She waves and heads toward the area where she gets the needed item and heads toward the check-out line.

**Later**

While Ritsuka-chan is cleaning the house, the grandmother arrives and calls her granddaughter over.

"Yes, Obaa-chan?" she asks.

"Do you remember the first time you told me about the legendary warriors that protected the people from these strange beings?" the grandma asks.

"Yes, why?" the red-head says.

"Well, it seems that some people are trying to train to fight these creatures or whoever they are," the grandma says "I heard it on the news today. Since these warriors are long gone, we want to be the next great warriors to defeat them. But….I don't know how long that is going to be before these creatures multiply and create more chaos."

"I….see…" Ritsuka-chan bites her lip. "Maybe…maybe that's what happened to my parents. They were killed by these creatures and I was unable to save them. I can't fight, so I doubt I will be able to become the next great warrior."

The grandma smiles. "No worries, sweetie. I love you just the way you are."

"Thanks, Obaa-chan."

The two of them hug.

**A Week Later**

"Mmmm…it's nice to have a walk every once in a while, but…" Ritsuka-chan says as she heads toward the forest. "This forest…I haven't seen a single creature enter this forest. But…that doesn't mean I will lower my guard. I still have to be careful. Okay…you can do this. Just don't walk too far."

It's late afternoon and Ritsuka-chan just got done doing some chores around the house. She decided to take a nice long walk for a break and then make some dinner later on.

She steps foot in the forest and starts to walk cautiously. She looks around, taking small steps every time and stops for a moment. She could've sworn she heard some sounds. She starts to regret going in now. She keeps on walking, looking around cautiously. This forest is a bit scary when going late afternoon, especially when the sun is setting.

The redhead stops again, trembling at the sounds of rustling and animal noises. This is way too scary. She just wants to turn and go home. However, when she turns around, she has completely forgotten where she is and how she got here. There is no way for her to remember where she last came from in order to get out of the forest. The noises and the rustling is scaring her so much.

The rustling becomes louder and louder until something jumps out at her, making her stumble on her behind. A fiery demon with long blonde hair, red hands and pointed fingers for claws and holding a large sword in her hand. She has horns on her head as well. Ritsuka-chan's eyes widen in shock and backs away several steps. Is she one of those strange beings that are roaming around, killing people?

"I have found a very nice meal to kill, cook and eat~" the female oni licks her lips, her voice sounding raspy and scary. "Ibaraki Douji likes~"

"Umm…no thank you!" Ritsuka-chan cries. "You got the wrong…food! Yeah! I'm not that tasty!"

"Don't be ridiculous," the oni girl, Ibaraki says, licking her lips again. "Any human, be it young or old, will make a fine meal for Onis like me. My brethren, Shuuten Douji, will be most pleased~"

It is then that Ritsuka-chan realizes something: these strange beings are actually demons, be it onis, or succubi that roam around killing people. That is why those legendary warriors killed most of them from so long ago. But without them…who will be there to protect the people? Who will protect Ritsuka-chan and her grandmother?

"No! Don't come any closer!" the redhead cries, shutting her eyes tightly.

She braces for the blade raised by Ibaraki to strike her down. But instead…she hears some clashing instead. She opens her eyes to see…a young woman in a purple bodysuit and a sword in her hand, plus a bow in the back. The woman shoves Ibaraki away to create distance and she turns to the red-head, smiling.

"My apologies. Did I scare you~?"

That face. That beautiful face that she saw in the supermarket. It's the same exact one. The face, the hair…everything.

"It's…it's you…" Ritsuka-chan mutters.

"Fufufu~! That's right~" the young woman says. "It is I, Minamoto No Raikou. But you can call me Raikou, okay~?"

"Raikou-san…" the redhead repeats softly.

"Grrr…!" Ibaraki gets to her feet. "How DARE you interfere!" She then gasps at the sight of Raikou before her. "It's…you. YOU! That legendary warrior who was supposed to be extinct!"

"Wha…legendary warrior?" Ritsuka-chan looks up at Raikou who has her sword ready.

"You were supposed to be extinct, little insect," Raikou points her sword at the oni girl. "I don't know what you are talking about….but I have come to take you creatures down once and for all."

"Ha! You think you are a match for an oni like me!? Ibaraki Douji!? I beg to differ!" The oni girl readies her sword. "Let's dance!"

The two clash blades with Ritsuka-chan dropping to her knees, watching. She thought that these legendary warriors vanished, but…is she actually seeing a real one right before her eyes? Raikou slashes left and right, hitting the oni girl successfully. Ibaraki retaliates by lashing out her talons and tries to swipe her. Raikou skillfully evades the attack and jumps far away. Grabbing her bow, she fires several arrows at a very fast pace. Ibaraki rolls away and shoots a ball of fire to retaliate. Raikou dodges that and jumps down with her sword raised up. Ibaraki rolls away from that and prepares to shoot another fireball. But Raikou rolls toward the oni girl and gives one strong swing, disarming the oni girl. The sword flies and the blade sticks to the ground.

"Impossible!" the blonde oni girl shouts.

"This is the end…." Raikou says coldly. She raises her sword and dark clouds form in the sky. A great bolt of lightning strikes the blade, lighting it up and creating electricity.

Ibaraki gasps at the sight of the powered up sword. Ritsuka-chan is amazed as well. Raikou holds the hilt with both hands and slashes downward diagonally, white trails of light following. It hits Ibaraki, electrocuting her and she lets out screams of agony. Unfortunately, it doesn't kill her, but it leaves her severely injured.

"Guuuhh…! So…strong…!" she groans.

Raikou lowers her sword and gives the oni a cold stare.

"You'll…pay for this!" Ibaraki struggles to her feet and turns to leave. "Shuuten Douji will get you for this!"

With that, the oni girl runs away. Raikou sheathes her sword and runs over to the shocked redhead, kneeling down to her level.

"Are you alright, miss?" she asks.

"Y-yeah…." Ritsuka-chan nods her head quickly. There are a lot of questions that she wants to ask, but she is too mind blown to say anything because of what happened.

"Thank goodness," Raikou says as she stands up and extends her hand. "Here…let's take you home."

"Okay…" Ritsuka-chan gently grips the woman's hand and she stands up as well. However, she gets pulled into a gentle embrace, surprising her. "Raikou-san?"

"My apologies. I just…want to let you know that you are safe and sound," the young woman says.

"So…wait…I thought the legendary warriors are gone…"

"They are. One of them is my ancestors, which is why I look like this," Raikou says as she pulls away to look at the redhead. "I can take you home if you wish. Can you tell me where you came from?"

Ritsuka-chan shakes her head. "I was so scared that I got totally lost. My grandma must be very worried."

"Hmmmm…that's a big problem," Raikou rubs her chin in thought. She then snaps her fingers at an idea. "How about you stay with me for the night? Then we will walk home to your grandma's?"

"Eh? Is that…really alright with you?" Ritsuka-chan asks.

"Of course~" Raikou says. "I live alone at my own home, so it will be nice to have some company."

Ritsuka-chan thinks about it for a moment. This woman is super nice and gentle, just like her grandmother. Surely her grandma won't mind, right? She starts to text her until she gets a reply of

"Who are you going with to stay over?"

Ritsuka-chan hesitates a little. How can she describe such a beautiful young woman like Raikou? The violet haired woman leans over and hugs her from behind.

"Just tell her…a neighbor that just moved in~" Raikou suggests.

Ritsuka-chan nods and types it in.

"Alright. One Night, okay? You really had me worried."

Ritsuka-chan types in, "I'm sorry, Grandma. It won't happen again."

Once that is done, Raikou lets go and gently takes Ritsuka-chan's hand. "Let's go, miss. Oh, my goodness. I completely forgot to hear your name. Fufufu~"

"Oh. My name is Ritsuka Fujimaru," the redhead replies.

"Fujimaru-san~" the young woman clasps her hands together. "What a lovely name for a cutie like you~"

She takes the redhead's hand again and takes her to the house just to the right of the forest. It only takes about 20 minutes, though. Ritsuka-chan never knew it would be a little bit easy to get out of the forest like this, but she is very grateful for Raikou to be here at a time like this.

After getting situated when they arrive, Raikou prepares some tea for both of them and they sit in the living room. The young woman pours the tea and hands the cup over to Ritsuka-chan.

"So…is it true that you are now able to protect the people from these…onis and…possibly succubi that are roaming around?" Ritsuka-chan asks.

"Of course," Raikou says as she elegantly sips on her tea. "I have been learning the ways of swordsmanship and archery since I was a little girl…because my ancestor as learned the same thing."

"Do you know if there are other people that have ancestors of the once great warriors?" the redhead asks.

"Honestly…I have no idea," Raikou replies. "But as far as I know, there are other warriors who are willing to protect the people." She turns to the redhead. "But enough about me. Why don't you tell me a little about yourself, Fujimaru-san. You said you live with your grandmother. Where are your parents?"

Ritsuka-chan hangs her head low. "My parents…are gone. They were killed by these vile creatures, probably the female oni. I couldn't protect them since I can't fight."

Raikou gasps. "I'm so sorry….for your loss, Fujimaru-san."

"Thank you," Ritsuka-chan gives a weak smile. "It's not all bad. I have a loving grandmother who I take care of, and vice versa."

Raikou nods. "Indeed." She rubs her chin in thought. It may be sudden, but the thought of the grandma suddenly disappearing is frightening since the creatures are now roaming around. "Fujimaru-san…is it possible…for me to adopt you?"

"EH!?" Ritsuka-chan almost chokes on her tea. "Wh-what exactly do you mean!?"

"I mean, what if your grandmother can't always be there for you?" Raikou says. "What will you do now? Where will you go?"

"Raikou-san…"

"What I'm saying is: Fujimaru-san…I see you as my own daughter. I want to love and protect you." Raikou says. "So, if it's alright with your grandmother…let me become….your Mommy."

Ritsuka-chan's eyes widen. They just met and all…and Raikou wants to become her mother? This is very sudden and yet…it makes her very happy. Sure she is not a replacement for her original parents, but Raikou is just so beautiful and gentle like her grandmother. How can she say no?

The redhead nods and hugs the busty young woman with a couple tears falling from her eyes. "Yes…yes…please become my Mommy. If that is what you wish."

Raikou smiles a gentle smile, returning the embrace and kisses her forehead. "Then, we shall be a new family…Ritsuka-chan. Starting now~"

Ritsuka-chan nods. A beginning of a life…with a new mother.
