Hey guys! Back here with another Sorina fic! Can't believe its been over a month since I've posted a fic for this fandom. This was just a short piece that came to mind for me yesterday. I hope you enjoy!

It was an ordinary Tuesday afternoon for Soma at Totsuki. He had just finished up his required classes for the day, and set out to try out some recipes he had thought of. Today he was extra determined to make Erina call his food delicious, since he felt that she was about to cave any day now.

After whipping up a quick Salmon dish, he made his way to the headmistresses office to present her with his creation. Without knocking, he opened up the door and found her working at her desk, shuffling around some papers which he expected were for the next elite 10 meeting.

"Back with another attempt?" she asked, before he could even say anything, and already knowing that he was the one in her presence.

"Haha you got it. I'm sure this is the one that'll make you say delicious."

"I doubt it." she replied, looking up at him. "But I'll accept your dish anyways, since I'm sure you could use a reality check."

Soma walked over to her and slid the Salmon dish in front of her, removing the top of the container that it was in. A wave of steam appeared, indicating the dish was still warm, and the smell of it engulfed the room. From the smell alone, Erina could tell that it was going to be pretty good, but she made sure that in no way she revealed that information to him. Elegantly, she took the chopsticks, and tested a small bite. It was simply delicious, like most of his dishes were, but she had to admit that this was definitely up there in his top 5. After a few brief minutes she put down her chopsticks softly in a manner like she hadn't just woofed down the whole dish at almost inhuman speeds. She looked towards Soma, and he wore the grin on his face like he always did, obviously thinking that he had gotten the better of her that time. She wasn't one to give in easily though, and she was determined to hold the upper hand.

"Well how was it? You ate that so fast I thought you would eat the bowl by accident too." Soma said while chuckling.

"I-It was d-"

"Delicious?"

"Disgusting!"

"Really?"

"It was nowhere near good, it seems you have a far way to go before making me say delicious, Soma."

"Hmm. Have you ever heard of the phrase don't bite the hand that feeds you? It wouldn't hurt you to be a little nicer."

"Of course I have. And I will let you know you do not feed me! I merely just entertain your shenanigans, in no way do I need you or you cooking."

"Is that so? Well thank you for making that clear." Soma said as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and turned around and headed out the door.

For the first time in a while, Erina regretted her actions. In reality, she was the only one being unreasonable. Soma went out of his way to make a dish for her, and she actually really liked it, but her pride had stopped her from saying it to his face that she genuinely enjoyed his cooking. It was something so easy to do, yet something she never had done, even though she had hundreds of opportunities. Looking back on it, she never really did much of anything for him, while he did so much for her. She made it up in her mind that next time she ate his cooking, she was going to tell him the truth.

It didn't take long for Erina to realize that something was wrong, because the next time he cooked for her wasn't coming like she expected. The first week was no big deal, there were some weeks in the past where he didn't go out of his way to make something for her. She began to worry during the second week, when he still hadn't made anything for her, but he had for his other friends.

By the third week, she realized how much she craved his cooking, and also his presence itself. Plenty of times he had come to her rescue, making a delicious meal for her after a long day's work. Today was a day where normally he would be there, but was not and she was left hungry. She also missed those random hangouts they would have when he cooked for her, as he was always talking about whatever happened around the dorm or the campus, so she felt a little left out and distant. Not being able to take much more, she set out to find where the redhead was and properly apologize to him.

She landed in the polar star dorm, and headed towards the kitchen, as where else would he be? From even outside the kitchen, Erina could smell someone had just been using it, and it was a familiar smell so she immediately knew it was Soma. She took a deep breath and entered, finally ready to set aside her pride.

Upon entering, she saw Soma there just eating, as if he was lost in thought or something. But as soon as she entered, he turned around and saw her, making eye contact. He didn't get up front his seat like he usually would, but waited for her to approach him closer.

"What business does the headmistress have in the dorm?" Soma asked, while continuing eating

"A-about that…" Erina started, nervously shifting in place, eyeing the disappearing food in front of Soma that she craved.

Some caught where her eyes kept going to and said

"Want some?"

"N-no!" she replied out of habit

"Figures." Soma replied, slurping down some noodles.

"Actually… Actually I wanted to say something."

"What's that?" Soma said, looking at her confused

"I-I wanted to apologize. I just wanted to let you know that I actually do enjoy your cooking. I know this might sound fake as I have had literally hundreds of opportunities to praise you, yet have never. I would also like to take back what I said about not needing you, because I've realized that I actually do need you. You're a good chef who's on par with me, and a valuable friend. I don't want to lose the closeness we've had over saying something stupid."

Soma paused for a bit, and then replied with

"So you actually were wanting this food that I was eating."

She looked away from him, but replied honestly with

"Yes. It looked really good honestly."

"Well come over here then. I'll share."

"You will?"

"Of course I will. You're like one of my best friends, I was also just sulking. I knew from the start you really didn't mean what you said. I just kinda stung is all."

"I-I'm sorry for that." she replied guiltily

"Well let's put that behind us. We have a delicious dish in front of us after all!"

Soma motioned for Erina to sit on the stool to his right, and she obliged. He got a forkful of food and was about to feed it to her when all of the sudden he pulled back and stuffed it into his own mouth.

"Hey, what was that for?! I see it didn't take you long to get back to your games of teasing me."

"That's right, I've missed that the past three weeks. Glad its open season for that now" he chuckled.

"Fine, I'll allow it, but no more joking around right now. I've been waiting three weeks for your cooking, every additional second feels like an eternity."

"Haha ok. No more jokes."

And with that Soma fed Erina half of his remaining dish, in between his own bites. He could tell that she really liked it, even though she didn't say anything yet he could just tell.

"Well, how was it?" he asked like usual

"It was… good. Very good actually."

"Not delicious?"

"I'm not ready to say that yet!"

"Oh so you're not ready to say it, but that's what you were thinking? Soma teased

"J-just forget about that last little bit and be happy!"

"Haha ok."

"And, could you make me some more?"

"Sure, I'd be happy to actually."

After Soma made a second portion for Erina, the two of them caught up with each other about the events of the past week. Here, Erina opened up further as to how she missed Soma, and just how much he meant to her.

"Is there anything you want from me? I feel like I'm always on the receiving end from you, and I don't give you anything and it makes me feel bad."

"Nah, you don't need to give me anything. I do what I do because I want to, and I don't expect anything either."

After a few seconds of silence, Erina took Soma's face in her hands, and planted a kiss on his cheek. It was something Soma didn't expect, but it was definitely something he liked. He made eye contact with her and smiled, and Erina looked away embarrassed and blushing.

"Think of that as a thank you. For all of those dishes you have cooked for me, and everything you have done for me as a person. I am truly grateful to have you in my life, and I hope this properly conveyed those feelings."

"D-Do I only get one thank you?" Soma asked, him blushing this time

"You can have as many thank yous as you'd like." Erina said while smiling, before throwing her arms around his neck and kissing him on the lips.

How'd you guys like it? I like the idea that Erina eventually gives into her pride because she wants Soma's cooking. Maybe I'll explore that idea more in the future. I also have plans to continue my food wars fantasy AU I have on here, I've got about the next 3 or so chapters planned out in my mind so get excited! (props if you understood that sort of reference at the end there lol)

Until next time,
