Following the events of Nemesis, the crew of the recently repaired starship, USS Enterprise-E, mourns the loss of their favorite android – only to encounter a few familiar faces from a parallel universe who have barely escaped an attack from the Borg. Cameos from Deep Space Nine also.

Inspired by the season 7 episode 11, Parallels. Also loosely influenced by the season 2 episode 4 of the Original Series, Mirror, Mirror.

Somewhere deep in space, ruins of countless Federation space crafts drift. The battle is over. The Borg have come and gone, leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. Who could have survived such destruction?

Just out of warp drive, the Enterprise-E, severely damaged and rushing to its demise plummets through the atmosphere of some uninhabited M-Class planet in the Gamma-Quadrant. Inside, we see the bridge is full of dead bodies. Those of Jean-Luc Picard and many others. The only two left standing are Captain Data and his first officer, Commander Tasha Yar at operations as they attempt to steady the ship for a bumpy landing. As they look out at the lush tropical landscape of the M-Class planet on screen a wave of purple energy flies past them and the lush greenery vanishes. Suddenly they are surrounded by tall skyscrapers and flying cars veering away from the oncoming starship. They crash against the ground, tearing up roads and colliding with buildings that tumble like dominos around them.

Meanwhile, at the Federation space station, Deep Space Nine at the edge of a wormhole leading to the Gamma-Quadrant, Captain Sisko sits at Quark's with Lt. Dax. His communicator dings on his chest.

"Captain, we're getting hails from the Gamma-Quadrant coming in from several sources. All from the Icarus colony on Ronov Seven," Major Kira explains over comms.

"What's happening?" Sisko asks.

"A Federation starship has crashed in their capital. Galaxy-class. They haven't received any communication, but apparently there have been quite a few casualties from the accident," Kira says.

"I'll be right there," Sisko confirms.

"I didn't hear anything from Starfleet. What's going on?" Dax asks.

"I don't know, but we're going to find out. Come on," Sisko beckons with his hands for Dax to follow.

Sisko and Dax enter the command center for Deep Space Nine where they cycle through the distress calls from the Icarus colony. All stating a Starfleet ship has demolished their city, and caused several hundred injuries and a few deaths. Worf enters as the screen displays the ship that has caused such damage. It's the Enterprise-D, a version of the Enterprise that he could have sworn was destroyed on Veridian III (Generations film). However, the ship looks intact, but damaged from an unfamiliar battle.

"Captain, it's the Enterprise, but…" Worf begins, but Captain Sisko stops him.

"It's alright Lieutenant Commander. We'll get to the bottom of this. O'Brien, get a runabout ready. We'll head to Ronov Seven immediately," Sisko says and Chief Miles O'Brien quickly exits to prepare.
