On the planet of Ronov Seven, the runabout lands in the Icarus colony's city beside the Enterprise-D wreckage. Doctor Julian Bashir scans the ship as Captain Sisko, O'Brien, and Worf wait in the turbo lift of the Enterprise.

"Something isn't right. This ship was destroyed on Veridian III, it's the Enterprise-E that should be flying around out there," Worf says as the lift doors open to reveal the bridge.

Bodies litter the floor. Worf runs to the captain's chair where the lifeless body of Captain Jean-Luc Picard rests. Across the way was a dead Counselor Deanna Troi and other Starfleet officers. All dead.

"I don't understand," Worf says, his distraught becoming clear. After examining the bodies, Doctor Bashir stands.

"All dead, Captain," He looks to his tricorter, "I'm not getting any life signs. Wait –" He takes a pause as the machine continues to beep.

"There is someone. In the Medbay," Bashir finishes.

"Let's go," Captain Sisko and Worf rush for the turbo lift.

In the Medical Bay, Captain Data attends to his first officer's wounds. Commander Tasha Yar is not in the best condition. He uses the machines to heal surface cuts on her face and forearm.

"I am afraid that is the best I can do until we find you a proper doctor," Data says as he steps back from her on the medical table, "If we can find a doctor –before the Borg catch up with us."

"I'm fine, Data. Let's get back to the bridge and figure out where we are," Tasha stands as the Deep Space Nine crew enters. Worf stands in shock while the rest run to their aide.

Doctor Bashir runs to Tasha and starts his examination. Data steps back, cautiously. He clocks Captain Sisko's uniform and approaches him.

"I am Captain Data of the Federation starship, Enterprise," Data says out of obligation. Sisko smiles and responds in kind.

"Captain Sisko. Stationed at Deep Space Nine. A space station linking Federation space to the Gamma Quadrant through a wormhole," He explained.

"A wormhole? That might explain the displacement we experienced. How far off are they?" Data asks.

"Are who?" Sisko continues.

"The Borg?" Data says without pause.

Worf and Sisko share a look before the two turn back to Data.

"There are no Borg here. We've been clear of their attacks for years," Sisko says. Data doesn't speak but he ponders this. Worf approaches Data and looks him over carefully.

"Do I know you?" Data asks and Worf looks at him with surprise.

"You're Data? Not Lore or B-4?" Worf asks gruffly and unconvinced.

"Lore? B-4? No. I am Data –Captain Data. Lore was destroyed ages ago. I do not know a B-4? Had you had contact with my brother, Lore?"

"It's not important. Your being here is what matters," Worf turns to Captain Sisko, "I need to speak with you alone, Captain," Sisko nods as he looks over Tasha Yar with Bashir. "And we should contact Captain Picard. Right away," Worf continues.

"Captain Picard? Alive?" Tasha finishes. Data just looks at them all incredulously.

((Author's Note: I'm still watching DS9, so I just got to the episode where Sisko is elevated to Captain. Excuse me if I missed any of the corrections. I tried to promote him in my story accordingly.))
