In Picard's ready room, Picard approaches the replicator. "Earl Grey. Hot." And the replicator reacts as instructed. Once he has his tea, Picard sits at his desk and puts his fingers to his brow. He puts in a call to Starfleet Academy.

"I need to speak with B-4," Picard says and the assistant nods before stepping away. Moments later, the comms open again and a Data-look-a-like stares before him.

"B-4, You're still at Starfleet Academy, aren't you?" He asks, hope in his question.

"Of course, sir. How would you have reached me if I had been anywhere else?" He asks with genuine confusion.

"Of course. How are things progressing for you at Starfleet?" He asks.

"It is odd, sir. Despite having memories of attending long ago, I feel as though what I am learning here is as if for the first time. It is confusing, but I am grateful for the opportunity… I am at the top of my class," B-4 says with a slight twinkle in his eye.

"I'm not surprised. I'm glad you are thriving. I hope that your time at Starfleet Academy will help add context to the memories your brother left you," Picard says as he sighs.

"I believe they will," B-4 concludes.

"Keep working hard. I'll check in on you again soon," Picard closes the channel as Deanna Troi enters.

"Captain, Data and Tasha are back?" Deanna gives him a look of both concern and hope.

"I know, but we can't let our emotions get the better of us. I just checked in on B-4 at Starfleet Academy and he's still there –but as much as we want to believe our friends to have returned, we know–" she cuts him off.

"It may only be temporary. Yes. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to seeing them again," She continues as she walks to the replicator, "Hot chocolate." It creates the desired beverage and she takes it and sits across from him at his desk.

"I feel the same, but Lieutenant Worf has experienced this phenomenon before," He starts, "We'll have to look back over his report of the incident and see if it's the same."

"I was reminded of the same incident, Captain. Do you think they'll still be here? By the time we arrive at Deep Space Nine?" She asks.

"I don't know. I hope so," He answers.

"So do I. Though it would seem like Worf is the most capable to deal with this. They may not need us at all," She finishes.

"All the same, it's not something I would want to miss." He smiles.

"I agree," She confirms. As Deanna leaves, Picard places a hand on his communicator.

"Captain Picard to Doctor Crusher," Picard states.

"What is it, Captain?" She responds.

"I need you in my ready room right away. Grab Geordi. You two are going to want to hear this," He says.

"We'll be right there," She says.

As the Enterprise-E pulls into the space station, Deep Space Nine, Captain Picard and Counselor Troi watch as the damaged (and yet salvaged) Enterprise-D lays dormant and under repair beside them.
