Upon entering the station, the Enterprise-E crew are met by Sisko and Worf. The two lead Picard, La Forge, Troi, and Crusher all to the main control room of the space station.
As they enter the command center, Data stands beside Major Kira and Lt. Dax and his face lights up as he sees the Captain and his friends. They approach each other - almost reminiscent of two lovers reuniting in slow motion on a beach, but obviously without the layer of romance. Data and the Captain stop before one another and the rest stand behind. Tasha Yar, unable to join the reunion from her position in Medical. They all stand in awe of Data's alive-ness.
"Data?" Captain Picard asks as he looks the android over. He looks just like their Data, but there are differences. While his eyes are the trademark yellow, his hair still slick and false, and his smile is that Soong smile, his skin is far more human colored than that of the Data they new. In his universe, it seems, that the advanced false skin needn't be so far from that of human skin. Beyond that he was still easy to recognize as the friend they had so recently lost. This Data gives a look to Deanna Troi and smiles before returning his gaze to his Captain.
"Captain Picard," Data wastes no time in acknowledging the bond the two shared and quickly embraces him in a firm hug. Even in alternate universes the two are still linked in the strongest of friendships. Data's eyes water at the sight of his own lost friend and the two held their embrace just long enough to understand one another.
"I see your emotion chip is intact," the Captain says as he pulls back from the embrace. Data nods.
"It was fused with my neural net. I have not been without it since its installation," Data confirms.
"Interesting," Geordi La Forge says, "In our universe, you were able to remove it."
Data quietly looks over La Forge, but doesn't give any emotional indication of bias one way or another.
"I suppose that is just one of many differences. Lieutenant Worf has been catching me up to some of the others," He says, giving almost no attention to Geordi who's excitement at seeing his best friend quickly fades as he realizes that one difference may be that very friendship. Worf approaches to elaborate on what he's shared.
"Given my previous experience with parallel universes, I wanted to see how different our lives really were. It would seem that this Data's world was very different from our own," Worf starts.
"I am just glad to be in a universe not completely destroyed by the Borg," Data says.
"The Borg were certainly a serious threat here, but we were able to mitigate that threat –at least for the time being," Captain Sisko starts, "Why don't you all head to Quarks and catch up while we continue our work on trying to discover the source of this universal anomaly?" He finishes. Worf nods and leads them all towards Quark's on the promenade.
