Tobias POV:

Tris and I were practicing our sparring in one of the corners and near us, Katniss was shooting her arrows. To be honest, I was a little impressed with her archery skills. I parried a blow from Tris and struck forward in return. Just then, there was a loud voice echoing through the loudspeaker.

"Attention tributes," it said, as all the people in the training room stopped to listen, bewildered, "There has been a slight rule change to the games." As he said this (I assumed this was Snow), I couldn't help notice Katniss and Peeta exchange a glance, wide eyed. "From now on," the voice continued, "you will no longer be competing against each other. You will all be working together to defeat the other team of 24. This team is composed of all your greatest enemies, a few of them being Gaea, Valentine, Jeanine," I stiffened and glanced at Tris. She looked back, panicked. We had defeated her before, we could do it again, "Saraphine, Fintan, Voldemort, and a few of the peacekeepers. Remember, these aren't the only ones; there's 24. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor."

This was almost worse. Or it was better. I didn't know the difference between innocent people being forced to kill other innocent people, and the same innocent people getting killed by their worst enemies. Either way, these innocent people die. I looked over at Katniss and Peeta who've had to do this for their whole lives; watch people die, or be the one in danger. This was worse than I could have ever imagined.

Katniss POV:

"There has been a slight rule change to the games." When Snow had said this, I had looked over at Peeta, who I was sure was remembering the same thing as I; our very first hunger games we had competed in. They had backstabbed us, changing the rule at the very end. I had panicked. This never ended well. But this time was different. It had been better. I think, and I know Peeta does, too, that it's easier to kill enemies and evil people, than murder innocent people that didn't deserve to die, any more than we did. And I don't have a clean record. I killed Cato, who was another pawn in their games. And many other people, too.

After Snow's message, everyone in the room just stood and stared at each other. I looked around at all the faces, filled with worry but I could see a little bit of relief from many of them. Suddenly, the guy who has weird mechanical abilities, yelled in triumph.

"Who wants to work with us to defeat all those bad boys?" He asked. I thought he worried too less, seeing the looks on everyone else's faces. But together I knew we could do it. Every single person in the room walked toward them. Every single one. I guess none of them were really murderers. That was a relief. Except a few of the people were wearing scowls, directed annoyedly at the mechanical dude.

Clary's POV:

For the next few hours, we had discussed everything we knew about our enemies. Snow had come in, still with a force field, to everyone's disappointment, giving them a list of their enemies:

Voldemort

Bellatrix

Fintan

Brant

Saraphine

Jeanine

Gaea

Kronos

Valentine

Jonathan Morgenstern

Lilith

Shinyun Jung

The ones that worried me most was Jonathan and Valentine. Valentine had killed Jace when he was alive and Jace and I have both killed Sebastian once, but I still want my brother; the one unconsumed by demon blood. I had no choice but to fight him, yet again.
