Katniss POV:

I realized that I knew the traditions of the Hunger Games without any second thoughts. I knew immediately that today was the day they were going to give us our marks. I wasn't too worried about this, as I had gotten high scores in all my last games, but in this game, the people were supernatural. I had no idea how I was going to beat them, though I think my best bet would be to show them my archery skills. That's when I remembered the events from the day before- the fact that I wasn't going to be forced to kill or be killed by all these innocent people, made my heart swell with hope. Maybe - just maybe - we could have a chance at surviving and winning the Hunger Games, without changing our character or becoming murderers or corpses. I couldn't believe Snow would have actually done this to let us have a chance. This was the reason I couldn't feel fully relieved, also judging by the looks of everyone else's faces after they read the list.

But I couldn't worry about this now. First, I had to meet everyone in the training room and explain how today was going to work. I wasn't that worried anymore, because I know I can do well. I have gotten an 11 before, after all.

Jace POV:

Clary and I came to the training room early, today. I knew why, even without asking. How we were going to defeat 3 of our enemies- one of which killed me, and 3 Greater Demons, I did not know. I knew one advantage we had, though. Evil people want power, therefore they are not good at working well together. If we're lucky, they'd all kill each other by the time they reach us. But only if we're lucky. If not, well... We're doomed. Well anyways, the first thing I noticed when we stepped into the training room, was that Katniss and Peeta were there too. Katniss was shooting at the dummies, with perfect aim, which I'm reluctant to say, impressed me. After all, she was only a mundane. Peeta, who was throwing dumbbells, dropped the one he was holding and turned toward us. Then, Katniss did, too.

"Today's the day we get our marks, then tomorrow, we do the interview. Then it's the Hunger Games." she said, without warmth. Clary and I looked at each other. Clary spoke up first.

"What's the marks and interview thing? Also, I saw you shoot. Nice aim." she said. Katniss grinned at her.

"Oh yes, we forgot the dressing up part! These are the fun parts of it, until it gets all... Lethal." she said, "So, they're going to call you up, one by one, and you have to show them one thing- your best skill - and they'll rate you on a scale from 1 to 12. You should try and get a higher mark because during the Hunger Games, you need sponsors. When you're close to dying, or need something desperately, they're sometimes the only ones that can help you. After that, it's the dressing up part, where everyone dresses up in a costume which has the theme of their own district. I don't know how they're going to do it this year, because you all don't have any districts. Maybe you'll be like dressed up as angels or something. I don't know. But the day after that, it's the interview. On this day, it's another chance to get your sponsors because everyone will be watching. Your main goal on this day, is to get everyone to like you-"

"Easy enough." I said, unable to stop myself. Katniss glared, as Clary Peeta rolled their eyes.

"Well anyways," continued Katniss, still glaring as I grinned, "You get everyone to like you. Also, this is the last day before the games, so you might want to relish it."

The door opened as she said this, and 'The 7' came into the training room. Beside me, I heard Katniss mutter something about how annoying it was to have to explain everything to everyone. I grinned, once again. Katniss waited until everyone else came, before explaining the whole thing again. I thought maybe I'd enjoy this. It sounded more of a party to me, followed by an adventure. Nothing we haven't been through before. I hadn't realized how wrong I was, until later, when we first went into the games.
