She has absolutely no idea what came over her, no idea what made her think this was a good idea.
It's just, she's been in a bit of a slump lately and she's tired of pretending that the relationship she has with Harvey is enough for her anymore. The kiss and the therapist and the dancing, it's just a bunch of little things that add up to a massive amount of nothing at all.
She's tired of the ambiguity.
So, she does it. She downloaded the app, created her account and loaded her profile picture.
She's immediately regretting this. Can't believe she's sinking to the level of dating apps and swiping right.
Maybe I can at least get laid, she thinks, smirking.
After everything is loaded up to her specifications, she starts swiping. One by one, she filters through the multitudes of men at her disposal, nobody drawing her attention. I mean sure they're cute, some of them down right hot, but her old boss lingers in the back of her mind, just like he always does.
Shaking her head, she keeps swiping left, one after the other, until she stops swiping and almost drops her phone.
"What the fuck, Harvey?" She whispers to herself.
It's almost like she conjured him. He was sitting there in the back of her mind like he always is and then poof, there he is.
Her finger hovers over the screen, deciding to let the alcohol make her decision for her and she swipes right. Fuck.
She puts her phone down and putters into the kitchen to refill her glass, suddenly feeling herself start to sweat, praying to god that he never uses this fucking app.
Five minutes later, after putting a movie on and settling on the couch, her mind begs her to check. She pulls it up and low and behold, her screen says she has a match.
Again. Fuck.
Opening the app, she swallows audibly, sitting straight up.
"Well, well, well."
She can practically see the smug grin on his face.
"You're the worst," she messages back.
"You know, Donna, if you want something all you have to do is ask." He's never gonna let her live this down.
"You're an idiot," she sends in response. "Goodnight."
The next morning, her attempts to avoid him are fruitless because he's waiting for her in her office, hands in his pockets and smug grin plastered on his face. She's passing by him to sit at her desk ready to tell him off but before she can say anything, he grabs her wrist, pulls her back to him and presses his lips to hers.
Okay, so maybe Tinder isn't all that bad.
