Hello everyone, it's The Rainwalker here. I've got another story from the files of the War of the Wizards saga. This story takes place after the power transfer in Power Rangers Turbo. It will focus on Nia of Dikaria, now Nia Smith, and Adam Park, former green Turbo Ranger. Both have headed off to Stephen Hawking University in Corpus Christie, Texas. But little does the happy young couple know, intergalactic evil is about to come calling. The two are going to have to step up to the plate once again. Get ready for a post-Power Rangers story full of danger, adventure, and intrigue. Get ready for...the coming of Angel Force.

Disclaimer: Power Rangers is the property of Saban. I'm borrowing Adam Park and the canon Power Rangers likewise. Zeran Smith is the property of me and my buddy OmegaRain productions. All original characters in this story are my property.

The coming of Angel Force!

The alarm buzzed, pulling her out of sleep. Her hand moved to shut the annoying sound off, as memories returned to her. She was Nia of the Dikarian people. But now, she was Nia Smith, adopted daughter of Zeran Smith or Zeran the Merciful. Nia smiled and turned to the young Asian man sleeping in the same futon bed as her. He was Adam Park, former Power Ranger, and her boyfriend of several years. The young man had helped save her life, and soul, when she'd been under the control of Zerak the Butcher. He opened his eyes, as Nia extended a hand from beneath the blankets. She caressed his face. "Kadra oo natu shemboa hootani." she whispered.

Translated from Dikarian it meant, "Good morning my love."

He gave a warm smirk to the Dikarian woman. "Kedra vu oo Shandri." He answered, which translated to, "And to you beautiful."

Nia's arms snaked around Adam. His arms, in response, wrapped around her so she felt contented. In all the years she'd committed horrible deeds for Zerak, she'd never thought to end up like this. She was on the third planet of the Sol system, in the arms of a young man she loved. She was also attending the prestigious Steven Hawking University in Corpus Christie, Texas. Sometimes, she feared that this was some kind of dream, and she was still controlled by The Butcher. She trembled, and then she felt a hand touch her cheek. She looked up into the entrancing eyes of Adam Park…before he kissed her. The young woman moaned as she sank into it, feeling that familiar tingle race through her. These moments reminded her this was no delusion. Nia Smith was free to live her life, and become her own person. And along with her, was someone she had loved and been intimate with many times. The two pulled away for lack of oxygen. "The old fears again?" He asked in a gentle whisper.

She nodded. "Even after all this time, the memories still leave me feeling cold."

Her lover's face leaned in closer, so all she could see was his eyes. "You don't need to worry. Zerak has enough to worry about with the new Rangers. Our time in the war for free will is over."

The Dikarian sighed and asked a question which had been bothering her for some time. "Is it?"

The former Green Turbo Ranger shrugged. "You know what Mr. Smith…I mean Zeran always said," he pointed out.

"Once a ranger, always a ranger." Nia recited.

She nuzzled against Adam's chest, relishing hearing his heartbeat. His loving thoughts caressed her mind. "I wish we could stay like this forever,"she whispered.

She felt his chest work as he chuckled. "As tempting as that is with you beautiful," he told her. "We have to get up, as we still have class."

"You're right," she sighed in resignation.

They climbed out of bed. "I'll shower first dear," she told him. Then on a side note added, "You've gotten the hang of the Dikarian language."

The police officer's son chimed in, "I had a good, and downright sexy, teacher, to show me."

She smiled at her boyfriend. "Oh, was that the only thing I showed you?"

Adam chortled at Nia's sexual innuendo. He knew, when it was the two of them, they could get away with this sort of thing.

After getting showered, dressed, and breakfast, the two left their apartment. They took time to stop by the complex mailboxes to see if there was anything for them, there wasn't. They noted, as they stepped into the sunny day, that it was seven thirty in the morning. Their first class wasn't until nine, so they had time to scope the campus. Adam wasn't a Power Ranger anymore, nor Nia the pilot of Angelica. Yet they still had some habits from their days fighting Zerak. They'd started college eight months ago. Most of their teachers were decent enough, some were brilliant, but there were a few who were boring. Today's Physics lesson, was going to be no exception. "Not looking forward to the monotone of Dr. Victor Strauss' lectures huh?" Adam asked, smiling.

"Doctor Strauss," she growled in annoyance. "For all his presumptions of brilliance, has shoddy theories! Also, his lectures are a cure for insomnia!"

"Careful not to let him hear you say that," he teased.

She harrumphed. "I don't care, I don't see how the man got his teaching degree in Physics!"

"Who knows with the way the universe works." He chortled.

The Dikarian female snorted out a laugh. "You're right of course."

She put an arm around him, and leaned her head against his right shoulder as she smiled in contentment. Walking to and from college with Adam was always a joy to her. Nia then noticed something out of the corner of one eye. She lifted her head, and looked around. She saw no one, and yet, she had this feeling that something wasn't right. "Adam," she muttered to her live-in boyfriend.

"You're not seeing things," he observed in a hushed warning tone. "Someone is following us."

"Any idea on who?" she asked.

"Not yet babe," was the reply.

She thought for a moment, paying very close attention to their surroundings. They passed by a 7-Eleven store. "Follow my lead," she whispered to him.

The two, trying to remain casual, made their way round to the back of the building. Nia moved to a pocket of her jeans, and pulled out a light blue crystal. Good thing Daddy Zeran gave me a few toys in case of trouble, the former super soldier thought.

"Stay close," she whispered. She then touched the diamond-shaped crystal. The couple and device faded from sight.

"An invisibility gem huh?" Adam whispered.

Nia shushed him in warning. They both slowed their breathing, their old habits kicking in. They heard someone coming around the corner. "Genu visdroth kanui!" Nia heard a male voice say…and felt her heart leap into her throat.

She knew that language! No, no don't tell me it's them, she thought hoping she had been imagining things.

The figure came around the corner, and her eyes widened in shock as she saw the young man around hers and Adam's age. He wore a plain blue baseball cap, white t-shirt with a peace symbol on it, khaki shorts, and a set of leather brown boots.

The man looked around, wearing a puzzled expression. "Shano ith drak!" He muttered before he stormed off, a look of genuine frustration on his face.

Nia waited several moments before she deactivated the invisibility crystal. "What the Hell?" Her boyfriend inquired, perplexed. "I know English, Japanese, and Dikarian, but I've never heard that language before." The Asian man observed. Then he noticed the slow rage building on Nia's face. "Nia, babe, are you all right?"

She realized she was shaking, and her heart was racing. She calmed herself down. "Adam," she explained, trying to remain calm. "Listen to me, we may be in danger."

His face furrowed in consternation. "Wait, again?" he sighed.

She nodded, a shame-faced look crossing her features. "I don't have enough proof yet. But if I'm right, I do believe some of my past has come back to haunt both of us. I'm sorry I dragged you into this."

He embraced her. "What kind of boyfriend would I be if I deserted you?" he told her in a reassuring tone.

She felt her heart lighten. If the language that man had been speaking was what she thought, she'd need all the help she could get. Don't you dare you bastards, the young Dikarian woman thought in anger. You leave my world alone, do you hear me, you leave Earth alone!

They looked around. "The guy who was following us has moved on." Adam noted.

"For now, but we should keep our eyes peeled vesharis!" Nia observed, using the Dikarian word for beloved.

Adam nodded his agreement. "Considering all his lessons on being better heroes, Zeran would lecture us both if we forgot." He joked.

She couldn't help but chuckle along with him. As much as she adored her adopted father, the Zendarian at times could be tedious to a fault. Granted, he meant well, and what he said did work in reality. But still, the Zendarian who had adopted her could be at times trying and overprotective. The young woman returned to the present situation. "Be careful," she stated, then took one of his hands and squeezed it. "The last thing I want is to lose you."

He stroked a cheek. "Nothing's going to happen to me vonshea." He assured her, using the Dikarian term of endearment a man gave to the woman he loved.

She smiled and pecked him on the cheek. "Dona sho nash ti mikaru." Nia told him, which translated as, "You are the single brightest light of my life, stay safe!"

"I always am, you do the same."

When they arrived, they saw the parking lot, as always, was filling up with students. The grassy lawns were being tended to by school caretakers. Many tall trees provided some great shade to several benches and tables. Various students were busy talking and involved in studying various subjects. The sky above was clear and sunny with mid spring. And song birds singing in the trees, helped put the mind at ease.

The school, named after Dr. Stephen Hawking, was a bastion of academic learning. The modern three-story buildings, showed modern architecture. They also oozed the belief that science reigned supreme here. While actual science was predominant here, there was a superb music program also. Granted, the school didn't have any NCAA teams. But, since this school emphasized academic and artistic learning, they didn't need any. It did have a gymnasium where students could go for exercise, but that was it.

The Angel Grove couple had fallen in love with this campus when they'd stepped on it for their first class. "Let's have a good once over, then get to our first classes." Adam suggested.

Nia nodded her agreement. She then kissed her man on the lips. "I'll see you later."

"You as well beautiful," he added with a smile.

The two headed their separate ways. The former child soldier's patrol revealed no sign of the man who'd followed her and Adam earlier. Yet, as much as she wanted to believe he was gone, her experience said otherwise. Her old soldier instincts told her that the man who had been speaking that language was still around. And it was likely he meant harm. So, she decided after her patrol, it would be wise to stay on alert. Her caution carried her through Strauss' class and several others.

Everything was quiet…until lunch rolled around. She was heading off to get something from the cafeteria. "Nia," Adam's familiar voice called.

She turned to see him coming towards her…and then she got the surprise of her life! With him, was a man of middle years, his long pepper hair tied back. A trimmed goatee adorned his face. He also wore the typical semi-formal attire of the professors here. She was at once surprised, and pleased, to see the man with her boyfriend. It was Professor Adrian Lambeau, an Engineering master, who also had a fierce love of rock and roll. "Ah, Nia, there you are," the fifty something scientist greeted.

"Dr. Lambeau sir," she responded. "I turned my assignment into your box this morning, is anything wrong?"

"Oh no," he told her in a reassuring tone. "Your work from the book was excellent! I needed to find you and Adam as fast as I could."

That caught Nia off guard. "Wait a second, how do you know him?"

The older man shook his head in remorse. "I'm sorry for holding some things back from you my dear. But...I'm not only a scientist. I actually work for…Uncle Sam."

The Dikarian glared in surprise and anger. One of her favorite teachers had been keeping secrets. The older man recognized Nia's look. "My dear please," He explained in a placating tone. "Don't take offense, I had orders from my superiors in Washington D.C. to keep my mouth shut. We needed to be certain about you and Adam."

"Certain, certain about what?" she asked becoming agitated.

Professor Lambeau was about to say something, then they heard the sound of a laser pistol powering up. Adam and Professor Lambeau's faces paled. "Look out!" the professor shouted.

They, and others, dropped to the ground to dodge the beams of energy that fired. Her old soldier's instincts caused her to roll to her feet immediately. To her left, was the man who had been following Adam and her earlier. "Caynu Drath tes chalo!" the man snarled at her.

Nia felt her heart leap into her throat again. She knew those words. Memories of her past came back to her. Memories of capture and torture, before her enslavement to Zerak . The man took off his hat, and Nia watched in horror as two long midnight black horns grew out of his head. Adam leapt up and was at Nia's side. "What the Hell?" he yelped as he spotted the horned man.

She shivered in both fear and rage. There was no doubt now, they were here! The ones who had started her journey into misery, pain, and a suffering that had crushed her soul! The man leveled the pistol at her. "Kedru shak tala mash da Nia!" he spat in a mocking tone.

Her heart beat faster. She knew there was no way, from where she was standing, she could move in time to save herself or Adam. Another laser pistol powered up and fired. The horned man screamed in pain as the bolt struck the hand that held the pistol. A new voice shouted, "Federal agent, put your hands in the air, get on the ground now!"

A clean-shaven man, wearing a beige long coat and civilian attire, held a silvery laser pistol. The weapon was smoking from the shot fired. The curious onlookers kept their distance. The horned man looked at the newcomer and growled, "Damn meddlesome Earthling!"

Nia ran forward as she snarled, "Cannoth drek calos, Deevil!" Which translated as, "You're mine now, Deevil!"

As Nia reached him, her target leapt over her and the others. The crowd of students and staff scattered as they yelped in fear of the horned man. "Don't let him escape," Nia shouted.

Professor Lambeau stumbled to his feet. They gave chase, the laser pistol wielding man following them. "What is going on? You spoke the same language as that weirdo stalker." Adam pointed out.

"Some of my past, come back to haunt us," she answered.

They saw the man reach a wall...and scamper up it, as if gravity meant nothing. Professor Lambeau looked around and pointed to an entryway. "Over there, there's a stairway we can use to get to the roof!"

They ran into the building, and found the stairs Dr. Lambeau mentioned. As they raced up the stairs, they heard a door open at the top. The Horned man tried to descend…only to see them. The man yelped in surprise and scampered back the way he'd come. Nia pushed her muscles as she clambered up the stairs and on to the roof of the three-story building. She heard Adam, Dr. Lambeau, and the other man come up behind her. She walked towards the man, and noted his shut eyes. "What's with this guy?" she heard her boyfriend whisper.

"He's got some kind of hidden communicator on him," she noted.

The horned man nodded in understanding. "Ka voshak mest kenaka gorn vest dorithic!" The Dikarian woman's face paled as she understood what he was saying. "I understand milord, it has been an honor to be of service to you."

As the group rushed the man, he turned, ran for the edge of the roof, and leaped off. "Long live the Deevil Empire!" he shouted.

The pursuers reached the edge of the roof, in time to watch the man drop earthwards, people scattering. The man hit the ground and actually exploded like a bomb. The shockwave sent the four flying backwards. Nia crashed to the ground and grunted in pain from the impact. She stumbled to her feet and shook her head to get the ringing out of her ears. "Nia, are you all right vonshea?" she heard her love ask, worried.

She gave her man a look of assurance as he reached her. "I'm fine hootani, a little shaken up, but I'm fine."

The former super soldier headed back to the roof's edge, and looked downwards. To her relief, one of the small gardens was the only thing destroyed. Concrete had scattered everywhere, but no witnesses had suffered severe injury. "That bomb in that transformed Deevil was a powerful one," she heard from the Federal Agent who had saved her life.

She felt tears of rage well up, as Adam's arms wrapped around her. It was a small comfort in the light of what she had discovered. She held her boyfriend close, knowing that the life of a super soldier had called her back. "Come for another world you bloodsucking scavenging Deevil bastards?" she growled between gritted teeth.

Nia turned to Adam, who wiped her tears. She noted his deathly pale look. "The Deevils," he gasped. "Wait, wasn't that the race that helped Zerak and the Wolf Blazer army wipe out your people?"

James Ferguson looked around. "Doctor, with all due respect, we have to get out of here quickly. Chances are security will be coming this way, and best we be elsewhere."

"The very same cretons," she confirmed. "And now they've come for my new home world!"

A familiar voice cleared his throat. They turned to see the man with the laser pistol approach. "I see you're familiar with the Deevils, but of course I wouldn't expect anything less…Nia of Dikaria."

Adam put himself in front of his girlfriend. "How do you know who she is?" he demanded in a tone that said the man had better answer.

"We know that and much more," the man explained. "As we know you, Adam Park, are the former Green Turbo Ranger, among other titles."

This took Adam by surprise. "Who are you people?"

The man pulled a badge from his coat pocket and flashed it. "Federal agent James Ferguson, Miss Smith and Mr. Park. I've actually been in communication with Dr. Lambeau here."

"Again, I'm sorry I kept such secrets from you Nia. But we had to make sure you were who we thought you were. While we can't go into detail now, what we can tell you is we need your help!" The teacher explained.

"Because the Deevils are here," the woman surmised.

"You hit it exactly." The professor confirmed.

"Wait, what about my other classes?" The Dikarian asked.

"Don't worry ma'am," James Ferguson assured. "We'll make sure you and Mr. Park don't miss out on those studies, but we'd better move!"

"Hold on," Nia growled in consternation. "How do we know we can trust you?"

"Well, you can read our minds with that telepathic ability your people have." Dr. Lambeau suggested.

Adam nodded his agreement. She turned towards the professor she had thought she'd known and the federal agent. She closed her eyes and began her mental scan of the two men. After several moments, she opened her eyes. "You're telling the truth, both of you. I can't find any mental alterations or memory implants." She observed, surprised and relieved.

"Now, can we get out of here, please?" The federal agent asked with growing impatience.

The four fled back down the stairs, and out towards the entrance, taking care to not attract attention. It didn't take them long to reach the front of the college. One thing she knew about the Deevils, was they were relentless when they targeted someone. Agent Ferguson pulled out his cell phone and pressed a speed dial button. He put the phone to his right ear, and a moment later someone answered. "Yeah, it's me," he stated. "I managed to get to Doc Lambeau, Adam Park, and Nia Smith. But we have a problem, the enemy's after Nia and Adam too. They had one of their goons tailing them, and even tried killing them."

Nia saw Agent Ferguson listen to whoever else was on the phone before he spoke again. "The next move Clarence, is you and your team haul ass over here fast! The Deevils are likely to launch another attack soon."

James closed the phone as Dr. Lambeau looked at him. "Where are Carlton and his men now?" he asked.

"A couple blocks away Doc. We had to take care because we didn't want to attract trouble, secrecy being the watch word and all."

"I recognize that, but it doesn't make this waiting any easier." The university professor sighed in resignation.

The waiting got cut short, when a beam of energy shot downwards. The four leaped out of the way as the beam struck the ground. Two large and horrific creatures appeared. They had the bodies of giant gorillas with the heads of great white sharks. The creatures let out shrieks of challenge as they leaped up and down in rage. "Chompers," Nia shouted.

Doctor Lambeau scampered out of the way. James Ferguson fired some blasts from his pistol at the creatures. The beams struck, but angered the creatures more. "Oh crap," the Agent swore.

Nia had done enough study on these creatures to know what to do. Who'd have thought the Butcher's strategic training would come to good use, she thought.

"Adam, follow my lead!" she called as she scrambled towards the lumbering monsters.

The two rushed the enemies, and somersaulted under the punches they threw. The hybrids turned with surprising agility, as the two rolled to their feet. They danced out of the way of the punches and kicks from the behemoths. The two V-stepped away from axe-handed blows from the beasts. Adam and Nia leapt on to the creatures' backs. Nia mentally sent, Hit them on the back of the neck love, that's their weak point.

I hear you, was her boyfriend's thought.

The two swung themselves so the beasts couldn't reach them. The monsters leapt up and down trying to get their assailants off. Thank goodness, for all their strength, Chompers are so stupid, she observed.

The former super soldier launched a palm attack at the back of the creature's neck. Her reward was the sound of bone crunching. Similar sounds from Adam's beast told Nia he'd done the same. They leapt off and landed, while both creatures screamed in pain. The monsters fell to the ground, dead, before the corpses melted into a ghost pale goop. Adam grimaced in disgust. "Those are some of the Deevils' troops." Nia explained.

"They sure don't die very well, do they?" The Asian man observed of the disgusting white substance on the ground.

"I see you're as formidable as our contact stated." Agent Ferguson added.

Nia turned to him. "All right Agent Ferguson," she stated. "Time for some answers. Who are you people? How did the Deevils discover Earth? Why are Adam and I targets?"

Dr. Lambeau sighed as he approached. "I wish we could give you the answers. It's best we not discuss such things here; this is top-secret stuff."

This isn't my day, Nia thought.

Well folks, part 1 of The Coming of Angel Force is in the books. –Wipes brow- ho boy what a way for this to start off. Looks like Adam and Nia are in a pickle. But what are Dr. Lambeau and Agent Ferguson hiding? Where are the Deevils, and what are their plans for Earth? Come back next time as 'The Coming of Angel Force' continues, Power Ranger fans.
