Chapter 14

Fenton, Laura, Joe, Vanessa, and the babies had gone to their respective homes. All the ones caught in Juan Garcia's network were remanded into custody with no bail or bond. Frank worked from home until eleven. His father texted him to shut it down for the night. Frank was puzzled. How did his father know he was working. Probably because he was receiving the reports electronically. Chuckling he shut down his laptops. He went downstairs to his and Callie's bedroom and found her sitting on the bed crying. Cursing he hurried over to her. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her cheek. "She's safe now sweetheart."

"I know...I just hate that she has to go through this. We have to find her a good therapist, Frank."

"We will baby."

"I made her take an ativan after we took Ben home. She wasn't happy about it but I assured her it was best."

"It is."

"Frank, she's going to have flashbacks, she...what are her triggers going to be? I still remember mine. I still get triggered by mine sometimes. It's rare but I do. How do I tell her that she is always going to have these feelings."

Frank rocked his wife. "When she is ready to hear it baby. Let's get her into some therapy. She may already know love. She's a smart girl."

"I just don't want her to get overwhelmed to the point that she...I remember how I got at my lowest moment. I never told you, but...there was one night that I had woken up after a horrible nightmare. It felt like he had just...I went into the bathroom and pulled out the valium bottle and put all the pills in my hand. I almost took them Frank, but I thought about you...and Brooke and our baby on the way and I put them back in the cabinet except for one."

Frank kissed her. "I admire you for telling me this. Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I don't know. Because I wanted to pretend it didn't happen. I can't do that now. We have to take care of our little girl. We need to be prepared Frank. She's clever and if she gets that thought in her head. What is going to hold her back? She won't have children, she and Ben are too new in their feelings. What will hold her back?"

"Hopefully her sister, us. We can only keep an eye on her and ask Ben to keep an eye on her."

Callie wiped her eyes. She kissed him. "I need a moment of peace...just a moment. I need you like I need to breathe."

Frank kissed her back. "I'm here." He went and locked their bedroom door. When he turned back around Callie was already bare. He hurried over to her and kissed her passionately. Her hands lifted his shirt up and over his head. Their upper bodies pressed together was bliss. Thank god they were in the downstairs suite, it was less likely the children would hear them. He stepped out of his pants, took off his t-shirt, and guided her toward the bed. They fell on top of it, their limbs tangled and mouth to mouth. His hands couldn't move fast enough to satisfy the fire that was building within him. Her hands were just as desperate. She manevored him onto his back and straddled him. Frank's hands roamed from her hips to her breasts. Her head fell back for a moment. Then she lowered herself onto him. Frank groaned as her heat surrounded him. "You're so beautiful."

Callie began to move. "Mine." She gripped the bed and set a furious pace.

Frank thought he was going to die of pleasure. "Callie oh yes baby! Ah!" He managed to maintain his control until her moans turned to gasps. He was on the brink and knew he couldn't hold much longer. "GOD!" He took one of his hands from her waist and pressed firmly on her sex. She screamed. Frank felt her tighten around him like a vice. His orgasm washed over and through him like a tidal wave. "CAL!"

Callie collapsed on top of him. Frank rubbed her back as they both tried to catch their breath. Callie sighed. "If you want me to move you're out of luck."

"You're fine my love. We need to put our pajamas on and unlock the door though."

Brooke woke up sweating. It had been four months since her ordeal and summer break. She could feel the gun on the side of her cheek. She started sobbing. She could feel the pain between her legs and whimpered. She looked at the clock. It was one in the morning. No way was she going to wake her parents up. It was too late to text Ben. She got up and decided to go get a glass of milk. Maybe that would help her sleep. Her parents room was just off the kitchen so she knew she had to be quiet. She avoided the creaky third step and tiptoed to the cabinet. She retrieved a glass and opened the fridge. She was mindful not to leave it open but for a second because it would ding. She poured a glass of milk using only the moonlight. She sat down in the breakfast nook and sipped. Her hands were shaking from the nightmare. She put the glass down and swallowed a sob. She didn't even feel safe in her own kitchen. 'That's just silly Brooke Ellen Hardy.' She went to pick up the glass again but she heard a door open. She sucked in her breath. She could tell it was her father. Maybe he wouldn't see her? Yeah right Brooke! He probably heard you moving upstairs. He turned on the light and turned to face her. "Brooke honey, why are you sitting in the dark?"

Brooke couldn't stop the lone tear that fell down her cheek. "I didn't want to wake you or mom. I just wanted a cup of milk."

Frank sat beside her in the breakfast nook. He saw her trembling hands that she had tried to hide under the table. "Did you have a nightmare?"

"I keep seeing that gold plated gun. He used it to pull some hair back from my face. I was so scared. I thought he was going to pull the trigger. But he…"

Frank had been in the room when she had been questioned by Sam. The whole experience had been terrifying for her. He squeezed her hand. "It's okay to feel scared sweetpea."

"I know I'm safe. You're a freaking FBI agent, so is grandpa. I knew you'd come and you did. You're my hero daddy. I was so relieved but when you came through the door and saw us. I was ashamed. I'm still ashamed."

Frank was glad that she was talking to him about her feelings. It was a relief. "Baby you have nothing to be ashamed of. I was furious with him. I could see his hand around your neck and him." Frank had to stop a second to regain his composure. "Raping you. I can't tell you how hard it was for me not to pull the trigger of my gun."

Brooke for the first time smiled a little. "I saw your battle for control. You do a thing with your mouth. I know you wouldn't have shot him unless he tried to kill me. Then you would have and it would have been justified. You came as soon as you could. But the worst part was being in that cargo hold tied up and in that dog crate. I couldn't move but a little. I could see the girls in there with me and they were just as scared. Daddy I can't go into my closet anymore without panicking. I have to make sure the door is open while I'm in there." She sipped her milk.

Frank stood up and got his own glass of milk. He said. "I can understand that." He went to the cupboard and grabbed some oreo's and sat back down.

"Mom wouldn't approve." Brooke said.

"What your mother doesn't know won't hurt her." Frank said.

Brooke took a cookie. They sat in silence eating cookies and drinking milk for a few minutes. "I don't think I can go back to sleep daddy."

Frank kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry for that. You need to at least rest. Get a pillow and blanket from the closet and come to the sofa in our room."

Brooke sniffled. "Thanks daddy."

"I love you kiddo."

Frank helped her make up the sofa. He tucked her in and kissed her forehead. "We're right here okay."

Brooke bit her lip. "Where's your gun?"

"In the lockbox in my nightstand. I can get it in 2 seconds if I have too."

Brooke shook her head. "Okay. Good night daddy."

"Good night ladybug."

Frank left the small lamp beside the sofa on. He knew from experience that would help her sleep. He crawled back in bed. Callie turned and faced him. She batted her eyelids in their secret code. 'Is she okay?'

Frank answered her. 'For the moment.'

Callie nodded and closed her eyes. Frank did the same. It was going to be a long journey.

Claire got up to use the bathroom. It was three AM. She really had to pee! After she relieved herself, she went to go back to bed but saw a dark figure in the yard. Then she saw another. She could also see that they had guns. "Oh shit!'
