Going on and on and on asked about this classic Tracey Byrd song, so enjoy your request! I thought it would be nice if, following Amber's discovery of a star, James gives her a special song as well. Amber told him about the song that she and their birth mother sang that night (see chapter 43 of Do You Want to Sing Together XX), and now James wants to give her a special song as well, along with some special friends of theirs. Thanks to Sofia2017 planning for helping with the story. Tracy Byrd's music is not mine.
Amber was excited about discovering a new star. She was even happier about Queen Melinda being there with her to celebrate with her. They had even sung one of her favorite songs.
James came up to her the next day, and even he was proud of her. "Amber, that's brilliant! I thought I heard you and Mom singing your favorite song."
"Then why didn't you join us?" Amber asked. "You're not going back to singing in your room alone with your door closed, are you?"
"Of course not," James smiled. "I wanted to give you and Mom some time to celebrate while I came up with a song for you too!"
"That's my brother, the royal jukebox," Amber smiled.
"That's right," James smirked. "Now, since I know you like this song too, I'm going to wait for you to get Duchess Kitty and Princess Sparkle Bear so you can sing it with me."
"You mean, we're going to have a kitty sing-along?" Amber smiled.
"Why do you think I'm getting Prince Blizzard, Little Rex, and Sir Blaze-a-Lot out?" James smiled, taking out his plush tiger, dog, and dragon.
Amber smiled. "I love kitty sing-alongs! And that makes my discovering Amberina Major even more special!"
"Is a kitty sing-along as good as singing with Mom?" James smirked.
"Okay, almost as good as singing with Mom," Amber smiled, "I'll be right back."
When Amber came back, she smiled as she set up her plush friends next to James' plush friends. "I said it before, and I have to say it again: I love it when we have kitty sing-alongs!" she smiled.
"We haven't had one since we were twelve," James smiled.
"Of course when we had the kitty sing-along when we were twelve, I had to open your door so everyone could hear you, but at least Daddy taped the song," Amber agreed.
"And for this one, we'll have the door open, since I'm never going to sing behind a closed door again," James smiled. "Unless of course, Dad's concentrating on royal business or if someone needs quiet."
"And that's okay," Amber smiled. "Duchess Kitty and Princess Sparkle Bear sang with me and Mother too. I'm sure they'd love to sing with both of us now!"
"That's right," James agreed. "Even our plush friends know that music makes everything better!"
"So, what song did you have in mind?" Amber asked.
"I remembered this one song Mom sang to you when you were scared about something," James started. "I don't remember if you had a nightmare, or what the problem was, but she sang that to you and you felt a lot better."
"Well, like you and Mother always say, music makes everything better," Amber smiled.
"And our plush friends like kitty sing-alongs as much as we do!" James agreed, nuzzling Duchess Kitty against Amber, "Isn't that right, Duchess Kitty?"
"Oh, James," Amber smiled, nuzzling Little Rex against him.
"Okay, now before our little friends get too excited about this, let's give you your song," James smiled, taking the dog back.
Amber smiled as she took her pink cat back. "Okay, and we can play with them afterwards."
"That's right, but we have to let them sing with us too," James smirked as he found the song.
"That's right," Amber smiled.
When the music began, he started singing, It was no accident
Me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can't believe you're in my life
Heaven's smilin' down on me
As I look at you tonight
Amber's smile widened. It had been so long since she had heard this. "This was so nice of you! I've always loved this song! And you got our friends to sing with you!"
James nodded. "I'm glad you like it, but you, Duchess Kitty, and Princess Sparkle Bear join me, Prince Blizzard, Little Rex, and Sir Blaze-a-Lot on the chorus!"
"We always do," Amber smiled, hugging her sparkly turquoise teddy bear and sang the chorus with James.
I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars
"Everyone likes a good kitty sing-along, right?" James asked, since he had been pretending that Prince Blizzard, Sir Blaze-a-Lot, and Little Rex were singing with him.
"Yes they do!" Amber smiled, imagining Duchess Kitty and Princess Sparkle Bear singing with her.
As he started the second verse, James saw Roland, Miranda, and Sofia come to the door.
Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine
It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
"That's beautiful!" Miranda murmured.
"Amber always loved that song," Roland smiled, blowing Amber a kiss.
James waved them in as he continued the verse, I know I don't deserve a treasure like you
There really are no words
To show my gratitude
"This is another fitting song for Amber since she discovered that star, isn't it?" Sofia smiled, since Amber had told her about her discovery the following morning.
"Oh, yes," Roland smiled. "Melinda and I used to sing this to her when she was little."
He joined James and Amber on the chorus, I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars
"This is a perfect song for our little stargazer," Miranda smiled.
"Oh, Mother," Amber smiled as she hugged her.
"It is indeed," Roland smiled as he, Amber, and James finished the song, It was no accident
Me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
"James, that was beautiful! Was that your idea?" Miranda smiled.
"Yes it was," James smiled. "I think Amber told you how she sang that other song with our birth mother, and I wanted to give her a special song too."
"She told us about that, and you found a wonderful song for her too," Roland smiled. He glanced at the plush animals on the bed. "And I have to say, all of you did a wonderful job!"
"What can I say?" James grinned. "Our plush friends like singing as much as we do!"
"And I bet they're as proud of Amber as we all are," Sofia agreed.
"You and your dolls and plush friends will have to join us the next time we have a sing-along, Sof," James agreed.
"I'd like that, and I think they would too!" Sofia smiled.
