girl talk

She sighs hanging up the phone. She's so happy they've finally shifted to this new place they've longed for but it's only their second night together and she's disappointed he can't come over, though she'd never tell him that. She knows how important the firm is right now and she knows that if he could he would.

Looking at herself in the mirror she can't help but smile because just a simple conversation with him now causes butterflies and she hopes that feeling will never end. After a beat, she starts taking off her earrings when the phone rings again. Looking down at the caller id, she can't help but laugh a bit to herself, answering the Facetime call on the second ring.

"Well, hello there Mrs. Ross."

"Donna Paulsen! Or should I say Mrs. Specter?" Rachel says with a smirk.

Donna can't help blushing, though she hides it with an eye roll. Giving up changing her clothes, she goes into living room and pours herself a glass of wine because this call has been a long time coming and she knows she'll need it.

"Don't leave me hanging, Paulsen! I want to know everything," Rachel says after they've caught up on the little things.

"Well," Donna starts, proceeding to tell her the story of that night and how her and Harvey went from ambiguity to forever.

"I'm so happy for you, Donna," Rachel finally says, smile lighting her face.

"Thank you, Rachel," she says with a smirk, because she knows what's coming next. She can practically see Rachel sitting on her hands.

"Okay, woman, spill. The most important emotional question," Rachel says.

Smirking into the phone, Donna bites her lip and her eyes light up, "Let's just say that there's a reason he has a big ego and it's very deserved."

"Oh, come on, I deserve more than that," she responds, practically stomping her foot.

She's so distracted by her phone call with Rachel that she doesn't even hear the key in the door or the knob turning.

As Harvey enters her place, because of course he couldn't stay away, he hears her on the phone with who he can only assume is Rachel and he knows he shouldn't listen in but he can't help it, she's talking about him and he wants to know. So he stops at the corner and his ears perk up.

"Rachel, I am not going to give you his measurements because some things are mine to keep, but I will say I've never come so hard in my life," Donna says quietly. "And that's all you're going to get," she finished, practically blushing.

"Oh! Dirty girl!" Rachel laughs. "Okay, okay. I'm just so happy for you, Harriet."

"Thank you Michelle," Donna says sweetly.

Clearing her throat, Rachel smirks and says, "Now, I'm going to let you go because there's someone in your house."

"What?" Donna says, turning around, and that's when she sees him and the blush that had dissipated heats her cheeks again as he makes his way toward her. "I'll talk to you later, Rachel."

"Bye Donna!" Rachel says chuckling, "Bye Harvey!"

Harvey nods toward the phone waving before sitting down on the couch next to her, signature grin taking residence on his face.

"What?" Donna says, feigning nonchalance and taking a sip of wine.

"Never come so hard in your life?" Harvey teases, reveling in this moment, eyebrows wiggling.

"Ugh, you're the worst," she exclaims.

"No, I'm the best. You just said so," Harvey proclaims.

"There's room for improvement," she mutters out, finishing her glass of wine.

"Well, then let's improve," He says, pulling her underneath him and placing his lips on hers.
