Married Before Seattle
Sadly, I still don't own Grey's Anatomy.
The alarm clock blares. Meredith reaches over to try and shut it off, she finally hits the right button and glances at the clock. 4:15 in the morning.
"Meredith, you have to get up." Derek whispers to her.
"No, Imnotgoing." She mumbles turning over.
"What do you mean you're not going?" He asks trying to stifle giggles.
"Imnotgoing." She repeats into her pillow
"Well that's a shame. I heard that there was going to be a really good case today." He said trying to motivate her.
"Fine. But if I find out you're lying. You're not getting any sex for a month." She says unraveling herself from the sheets. She walks into the bathroom and turns on the shower.
"Can I join you?" He asks her.
"Not till I know if you're lying."
"What if I tell you what it is?"
"Keep talking."
"It's a huge aneurism, ready to burst. You'll probably just have to answer my question during rounds and boom you'll be on the case. You're already 20 times smarter than all of them."
"Come in!" she says. 20 minutes and a very steamy shower later, they're ready to go. "Can we stop at Starbucks on the way. I want to grab a coffee for me and a bribe for Bailey."
"So, you bring bribes now? He asks as they pull into the Starbucks drive-through.
"If it gets me in her good graces then yes." She says getting ready to order. "Venti cappuccino, a venti cinnamon dulce latte, and grande mocha latte and a venti caramel macchiato." She says leaning across Derek to talk into the machine.
"Why did you order four coffees?" He asks her confused.
"Me, you, Bailey, and Christina. Obviously." She says like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
"Ah, yes. The other twisted sister." They pull up to the window, pay, and get their coffees. Meredith sips on her cinnamon latte as they drive to the hospital. She grabs the two other coffees leaving Derek his macchiato, plants a kiss on his lips and runs into the hospital to get ready for her shift. She gets to the locker room and hands Christina one of the three coffees she's carrying.
"Venti cappuccino, right?" She asks her taking a sip.
"Yep."
"Who's the other one for?" Christina questions her.
"Bailey."
"I see you bring bribes now." Christina says sarcastically.
"It's not a bribe, it's a mocha latte." Bailey walks in and they all follow her out through the door to start rounds.
"Dr. Bailey, would you like a mocha latte?" Meredith asks her handing her the cup. Bailey doesn't say a word but takes the cup from Meredith's hand.
"Let's go! We've got rounds to do!" Bailey shouts causing the interns to jump. They follow her into the first room. Dr. Shepherd is standing beside the patient.
"Alright, who's presenting?" Dr. Shepherd asks. Meredith was about to start when Dr. Bailey cuts her off asking Izzie to present.
"Ms. Andrews, 29 year old female in to get an aneurism clipped." Izzie says reading off the chart. He pulls up a scan of Ms. Andrews brain.
"What size clip would you use in this surgery?" Dr. Shepherd asks the interns.
"Uh," All the interns stare at the screen trying to guess. Meredith speaks up.
"You don't know." She says.
"What do you mean Dr. Shepherd?" He says.
"You won't know until you are looking at it." She explains.
"That is exactly right." He says. "Emma, this is Dr. Shepherd. She will be prepping you for surgery." He glances over at Bailey and you can almost see the steam coming out of her ears. She is glaring at Derek. She leaves the room with the rest of the interns. Derek follows them out.
"Dr. Bailey can I speak to you for a moment?" He says. She turns around and walks back towards him.
"Go wait for me in the next room, and don't kill anyone." She says to her interns. "What is it Dr. Shepherd?" She asks him.
"Care to explain that look from earlier?" He asks her.
"I don't have any idea what you're talking about." She says.
"Dr. Bailey, don't lie to me." He says.
"I have five interns I don't need to have you favoring Shepherd." She explains.
"Would you like me to have had an intern who wasn't ready for this surgery in there instead?" He asks her.
"I just don't want you favoring her. The interns are going to be pissed when they find out, they don't need any more ammunition than they already have." She says.
"Thank you, Bailey, but we've got it covered."
"Alright Shepherd, I just don't want to see her get hurt."
"Thank you, Bailey. Now go catch up to your interns before they kill someone."
