(A/N: Hey guys I'm back and I've got chapter 28 done for you guys, I know that I've already explained the reason for me not posting for a while but I really am sorry that I had to do this to you guys and I also hope that you guys are all staying safe out there, alright then without further ado let's do this.)

Chapter 28: Wheel of fate

After finally finding their courage the two teens marched hand in hand into the bakery with the lingering scent of chocolate in the air, a scent that didn't help Marinette in the slightest in terms of her morning sickness. She immediately began to feel nauseous yet again and barely having any time to get to the trashcan before she expelled the majority of her stomach contents into the trash. "Why does this keep happening to me?" She asked rhetorically with a weak voice, her strength was almost completely gone after how much she had expelled from her body.

"It'll be okay Marinette, I'm sure it will. We just need to avoid certain smells is all." Adrien replied as he helped her to her feet.

"That's easier said than done." She said back as she wiped her mouth. "I have no idea what's gonna set me off or when for that matter. I'm literally a ticking time bomb one way or another and only god knows when I'm going to go off, or for what reason."

Adrien just pulled her into his side and held her close then said reassuringly. "We'll figure it out together, I mean that's the way it's supposed to be right?"

Marinette just smiled at him warmly, just knowing that he was right there for her every step of the way made her feel a little less anxious about her situation. After finally making it up to her parents' apartment they both paused for a moment outside the door and brace themselves for what ever was about to come. "This is it, the point of no return. You ready?" Adrien asked as he gripped her hand tighter.

"As ready as I'll ever be." She replied trying her best to stay calm. As she raised her hand up to the door to knock the door quickly swung open revealing both Sabean and Tom both wearing giant smiles on their faces simply happy to see their daughter again after what felt like an eternity, on both ends of the entire situation that is.

"There you two are, we'd began to think that you'd forgotten." Tom stated as he ushered the young couple inside.

Marinette didn't waste anytime as she pulled both her parents into a much needed and long overdue hug. It took every last ounce of her strength just to keep herself from crying, she wasn't sure if it was because of her mood swings or simply because of how long it had been since she'd seen them last. "I've missed you guys so much." She stated with a soft voice.

"We've missed you too honey, have you been keeping busy as Mr. Agreste's apprentice?" Sabean asked curiously.

"As busy as I can, and I will say it's nice being so close to Adrien…" She paused for a moment as she took his hand. "But it's still nice to see you guys too." Just as she was about to add on to her sentence she caught a whiff of a sweet scent, which sadly triggered her nausea yet again. She quickly threw her hands up to her mouth and made a mad dash to the sink, before her parents could ask what was going on she threw up. She had no idea how she still had enough left over in her stomach to produce so much vomit. The scents that had unfortunately triggered her morning sickness was none other than a freshly made plate of chocolate chip cookies which had undoubtedly been the reason that she threw up in the bakery previously. Once she'd settled down a little bit her parents began to get the feeling that something was off, they knew Marinette well enough to know that she didn't get sick that easily and for her to just throw up uncontrollably was completely out of character for her resulting in the two of them sitting her down to have a little talk.

Marinette felt so nervous, she'd hoped at the very least that they could have had a chance to butter them up over dinner before telling them the good news. But it just wasn't meant to be which became clear to her as they sat across from her and Adrien in the living room. The atmosphere was very thick, so thick that it was almost suffocating for everyone in the room. "Allow me to be the one to break the silence." Sabean started. "Marinette, is there something wrong with you that we should know about?"

Marinette just gulped hard, it felt as though she'd swallowed broken glass. She tried to speak but she was both physically and mentally incapable as her anxiety began to spike. Sensing this Adrien tried to speak for her. "Yes…there actually is something going on. Nothing bad thank god but…it's a little…tough to swallow." He stated feeling a bit nervous.

Tom could see the look on both of their faces, it was a look of pure panic. He didn't know what was happening but he could tell that it was big, big enough that the two of them were both worried about how the two of them would feel. Feeling unable to stay silent any longer he then began to ask his own questions. "Marinette, are you two in some kind of trouble?"

"Well…that…kind of depends on how you look at it dad." She replied finally finding the strength and will to speak again.

"Your not into drugs now are you?" He asked hoping against all odds that he was wrong.

This question was more than enough to get a weird look from the two teens, but it was understandable why he thought that. "No…no we're not doing anything like that. Though I still have a feeling that your going to get mad at us for…what we've done." She replied softly and timidly.

"Sweetheart…" Sabean began again calmly. "Whatever it is we'll understand.

"Well you say that now but…" Marinette started up again only for Adrien to interrupt her as he felt that there was no point in dragging it out any longer.

"Princess, I think it's better to just…tell them." He stated with a calm but firm voice as he squeezed her hand tight.

Marinette took a deep breath, let it out slowly, and in a split second said the two words that she just knew deep down with all her heart would completely destroy everything between her parents and her. "I'm pregnant." As expected both Tom and Sabean's mouths hung open with shock as their daughter had just confirmed what the reason for her sudden ailment was.

"You…you're…pregnant?" Tom started up. "But I…you two…how long?"

Marinette just bit down on her bottom lip and looked down at the floor. Their reaction was definitely not how she expected, it seemed that they were more baffled rather than angry with them. However she just had a feeling that this still didn't bode very well for her and Adrien. It wasn't as though they'd be out on the street without a penny to their name, but it's still didn't bode well in this moment. It was around this moment when Adrien took over the conversation again. "We're not entirely sure how long it's been, but it's definitely been long enough. We only just found out today, but I assure you I am going to take full responsibility for this."

For a moment Sabean was unsure of what to say, then she asked calmly. "What do you two plan on doing with the baby?"

Adrien then looked to Marinette as if to ask if it was okay, she simply nodded reassuringly as he said. "We...we wanna keep the baby. Naturally we'll be able to so you two don't need to worry about Marinette or the baby. And we'd understand if you didn't want to but…we'd greatly appreciate your support."

Both Tom and Sabean were quiet for almost a minute, his words sounded serious enough but he still didn't know if they would accept this. Even though he was very clear that he was willing to take responsibility and take care of Marinette. As she looked on at her parents' blank expressions Marinette immediately began to fear the worst and slowly began to break down into tears. "You hate me." She said sternly and believing her statement beyond a shadow of a doubt. "You two both hate me. I just knew this would happen it's all my fault I'm sorry I'm so sorry mom and dad I didn't mean to let this happen!"

As Marinette began to bury her face in her hands and sob heavy tears her father simply said in a calm and caring voice. "Sweetheart we're not mad."

She then looked up at her father with a confused look thinking that she had just misheard him. Adrien too felt confused, he fully expected them to yell at her, disown her even, but the way he and his wife both looked told a different story. "What? How can you not be mad at me for this?" Marinette asked while wiping her tears away.

"Because we're not, obviously we're a little surprised about this but it's okay." Sabean replied just as calmly as her husband. "Like we told you before honey we wouldn't mind this too much, obviously it would've been preferable if you'd waited until after you'd graduated from school first but that's not the point. The point is we love you honey, and we know how much you love Adrien and well…we kind of saw this as an inevitability."

If she wasn't confused before Marinette definitely was now, for them to admit that they saw this coming also made her question just how much they've actually thought about her self-control. Obviously she couldn't exactly call them out on it as she'd already proven them right, however it still felt a little insulting. And it would feel even more insulting with what her father said next. "Oh and that reminds me, you owe me 20 euros."

Sabean then rolled her eyes at her husband's statement as she handed over the sum of 20 euros. This exchange obviously could not be ignored by either of the two teens. "Hang on a second. Did you two make a bet to see whether or not if I'd get pregnant?"

"Don't be silly, we took a bet to see when you'd get pregnant. I bet that it would be before you graduated while your mother bet for after, and it looks like I won." Tom said with a smile as he counted out his cash.

Marinette just shook her head at her parents no longer feeling any anxiety whatsoever, now all she felt was annoyance as they clearly had no confidence in her. Which again she still couldn't call them out on it for obvious reasons. "Okay…back to the matter at hand…" Adrien announced as he tried to get the conversation back on track. "You guys are actually okay with this?"

"Of course we are, we know just how much you two love each other and we both know you well enough Adrien to know that you would have taken responsibility for this right from the start." Tom replied with a warm smile, which quickly turned into a serious look as he added. "But as much as I like you I wouldn't be doing my duty as a father if I didn't give you a fair warning. If you abandon my daughter in her time of need I promise you I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth then I will break your legs!"

Adrien can sense the sincerity of his words; This statement was obviously not an idle threat and he took it very seriously. "That sounds fair." He replied with a slightly startled tone.

"Daddy?" Marinette voiced, clearly she didn't appreciate her father threatening her boyfriend/baby daddy. She would at least hoped that he would already know that he would never leave her over something like this. No matter how terrifying it would be for anyone. Eventually everyone calmed down and everyone finally took part in the wonderful dinner that had been prepared for Marinette's return. Everyone was smiling and happy that the Dupain-Chang family would be growing a little bit within a few short months, Marinette's mother offered her daughter as much advice that she could in terms of dealing with her pregnancy. Tom also offered a few helpful tips to his future son-in-law, he was also crushing the life out of Adrien with the strongest hug he'd ever given him before while at the same time officially welcoming him into the family. Adrien of course was grateful that Tom wasn't going to kill him for what had happened, though he had a feeling that this hug might just do it whether he wanted it to or not. All in all the entire night went well, especially with the knowledge that they officially had both her parents support for their unborn child and their decision to raise it together.

After they left the apartment the young couple both let out a sigh of relief that they didn't even realize they were holding. "Oh thank god, I honestly thought that your father was going to kill me." Adrien stated plainly. "I mean sure I have superpowers but I don't think even those could've saved me from your father's wrath."

"I still can't believe that they both thought I was gonna get pregnant. I mean I know I did but that's not the point, I mean do they really think that little of my self-control that I would just go out and sleep with you first chance I got? You know what don't answer that." Marinette added bluntly as she realized that was exactly what she had done.

Adrien simply snaked his arms around her and planted a kiss on the side of her head. "Let's not worry about that. Instead let's just worry about us." He said in an attempt to distract her.

"What is there to worry about?" Marinette asked a little confused.

"Well for starters someone's going to have to fill in for you as Ladybug from here on out. I mean after all you did promise me that you wouldn't do anything reckless." He reminded her of her promise that she made not too long ago.

And he was right, she obviously couldn't continue being Ladybug while she was pregnant, which meant that she had to find a replacement. But not just anybody would do, she had to find someone that she could absolutely trust no matter what. Her first thought was to give it to Alya, she did already have plans to tell her the truth about who she was under the mask so it only seemed logical. But that's when she had second thoughts, she wasn't entirely sure if her best friend could handle the role of team leader and started to rethink her options. She already made up her mind that she was never going to let Chloe have her miraculous, not only did she have a feeling that she would never give it back but she also knew that she more than likely announce to Paris that she was the new and official Ladybug. And she knew that in her mind that hell would have to freeze over a thousand times before she let that happen. She would have considered Alex to take over as well, but she knew that she could care less about being a figure of authority and decided against it. Then she considered Kagami, first thought was she was perfect for the role, but she also knew just how busy her everyday life was as well. It was even more so than her own and decided that she would have to keep thinking about it.

"We'll worry about that later, right now I just wanna get back to the safehouse and take a nice hot bath." She stated casually as they headed downstairs to wear their cab was waiting. Once they hopped inside they again drove off with them still discussing what needed to be done.

Across town sitting alone in an interrogation room Chloe Bourgeois sat with arms folded and legs crossed tapping her finger against her bicep angrily. The entire time that she'd spent locked up in the Parisian Interpol Office she had done nothing but constantly complained about everything and anything she could and generally making the lives of every single person who worked there a living hell. She demanded day in and day out to be released as she believed full heartedly that her arrest was completely unwarranted. Naturally no such demand was ever met even after finding out her best friend Sabrina worked at the office as an intern. The only one who ever seen to interrogate her was agent Menendez who constantly asked for the same questions over and over up to the point where it got annoying even to her. What are the identities of the other miraculous holders? How do the miraculous work? Where did the miraculous come from? And who currently held onto the majority of the miraculous?

All of these questions Chloe refused to answer, either because she honestly didn't know or because she refused to betray her team. Either way her loyalty was firm which she proved as she simply refused to say so much as a word, mostly because all of her simple requests, such as someone going out and getting her a cappuccino as she found the coffee provided by the Interpol agents tasted absolutely horrible in her personal opinion, had been flat out refused due to the order of agent Menendez herself. After waiting about twenty minutes Elisa Menendez had finally entered the interrogation room holding a folder which she sat down on the table just before taking a seat across from Chloe. "Good evening Ms. Bourgeois, I think it's obvious enough at this point why you're in here again." She stated as she opened up the folder. "So if you insist on making this a very long night for me that's just fine I don't have anything else that I need to do this week."

"Before we get started I just have one thing to ask. Where the hell is my god damn cappuccino already?!" Chloe demanded for what had to be the twentieth time in the hour.

"What is the real identity of Ladybug?" Agent Menendez asked as she began to go down the checklist yet again.

Chloe just threw her head back and groaned. "How many fucking times do I have to tell you? I don't know any of their real names, that was the whole point of the masks you dumb bitch! And again where's my cappuccino?"

Feeling extremely frustrated with Chloe's attitude Menendez then stood up and slammed her fists down on the table. "Shut your god damn hole you arrogant little brat!" She shouted at full volume and making it very clear that she was not going to roll over for her. "I don't care where you come from in society, I don't care who your family is and I especially don't care if your father's the mayor let alone about your god damn coffee! You're not untouchable Ms. Bourgeois, despite the fact that he come from a very wealthy background the long arm of the law does not discriminate when it comes to illegal activities such as what you have been doing."

"What's wrong agent Menendez?" Chloe began to ask with a sarcastic smile. "Don't like to get showed up by a bunch of kids who could obviously do your job a million times better? Of course I wouldn't need super powers to do your job any better than you do right now as you're obviously not up to the job."

The next thing that happened in the interrogation room happened in a flash as agent Menendez threw the table off to the side of the room crashing against the wall in a fit of rage and Chloe found herself shoved up against the wall behind her with one hand clutching her throat tightly as Menendez just stared her down. "I swear to god if you don't shut your god damn mouth I will rip your vocal cords out!" she growled through gritted teeth as she applied pressure to the teen's windpipe. This obviously counted as police brutality if not just child abuse, but after getting on everyone's case in the office for the past few days Elisa Menendez had decided in that moment that she had had enough of Chloe to last a lifetime and decided that she had to be put in her place, violently if necessary.

The next thing she did was throw Chloe to the floor hard to ensure that she would figure out that it was better not to anger her any further. Any smart person would figure this out quickly, but Chloe Bourgeois sadly was anything but smart, she especially proved this to be true when she stood up and tried to threaten agent Menendez to her face. "How dare you? I'll have your job for this you disgusting little…" Before she could even finish her sentence was quickly interrupted with a backhand right across her face. "Why you little bitch! I am going to sue you for everything your worth if you do that again!"

Rather than heed her warning Menendez just slapped her yet again just as hard as the first time and making it very clear that she wasn't intimidated by her at all. "Do I look like I'm afraid of you or your threats you little brat? You clearly have gone on without any kind of discipline for too damn long, so from here on out every time you talk back to me I'm going to hit as hard as I can just for the fun of it. And before you try to say I can't do that just remember that you have absolutely no one here to vouch for you."

Chloe simply boiled with rage at the audacity of this woman. She had struck her not once but twice, she had decided that in that moment she was going to make her pay every single second that she had to spend in lock up as well as for hitting her. "I promise you when my daddy hears about this you are going to regret this!"

"Oh please spare me your threats, your father can't do anything to get me fired. Even if you do tell him it would take a lot more evidence than just your words, besides who's to say that you didn't get violent during this interrogation. The Point I'm trying to make Chloe is that you, for once in your gigantic meaningless life, is that your daddy can't help you. Now stop being a little brat and answer my questions!" Menendez ordered with a demanding tone.

But her demand may as well have fallen on deaf ears as Chloe retaliated, in the worst possible way. "Oh you want violent? I'll give you violent you little bitch!" And in a split second Chloe threw a right hook at the Interpol agent, who quickly caught her fist in her hand then twisted her wrist around forcing Chloe to submit.

"Clearly you're not a very fast learner, what you just did counts as assault on an officer, which I will be adding to the list of charges against you. Bottom line you just keep digging your grave deeper and deeper with every action you take Ms. Bourgeois." Menendez confirmed as she let Chloe go.

"Oh yeah? And what would you classify what you did to me?" Chloe asked back as she rubbed the pain out of her wrist.

"Disciplining an irritable little child. Which is not a crime, and sense you refused to cooperate you left me little choice. So if I were you I'd start talking because the longer that you stay quiet the harder this is going to be on you." But before she could continue interrogating Chloe, Menendez heard a knock at the door. She just groaned as she headed over to the door to see one of her subordinates standing there with the Mayor of Paris. "Mayor Bourgeois, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Daddy!" Chloe cried as she ran straight for her father and wrapped him up in a loving hug. "Please tell me you're here to take me home! It's just horrible here, they made me sleep in this cramped dirty little cell that smells like mildew, they wouldn't let me do my nails or bring me my favorite cosmetics to wash my hair properly and the food they bring me tastes like it came from a dumpster! It's horrible!"

"You don't need to worry about a thing sweetheart. Daddy's going to make it all better." Mayor Bourgeois said to his daughter just before he turned toward Elisa and continued. "I know this won't change your mind on the matter of what my daughter's done but this will force you to let her go. Read 'em and weep Menendez." Mayor Bourgeois then reached into his pocket and handed her an official pardon letter, which she read quickly.

"Hmm…it would seem you've managed to out think me." Menendez stated with a sinister smile just before she ripped the document in half. "What a shame that this doesn't cover her trying to punch me in the face a moment ago, oh but don't get me wrong Mr. Mayor this officially clears her of her "vigilante activity", but as for the assault on an officer charge…that's a different story."

Chloe then turned towards Menendez and glared. "You dumb little bitch; do you really think it matter's now?" She asked with hate. "After what you've done to me you might as well kiss your job goodbye!"

"Ms. Bourgeois, all I've done to you is show you just how little your threats mean to me. The most that you can do is write up a formal complaint, not that it matter's sense your still not going anywhere." Menendez said back with a smile. "Now get your ass back in there so we can finish our little talk."

"You seriously think you can make me do anything now? My daddy just pardoned me of all my so called "crimes" against the city." Chloe stated, but clearly didn't understand just how pardons work.

"Yes he did, for your vigilante work. But assaulting an officer is an entirely different charge, which makes your previous pardon absolutely worthless to you now." Menendez fired back as she began to drag Chloe back into the interrogation room.

"Daddy!" Chloe cried out reaching for her father to save her yet again.

"Don't worry Chloe I'll get you out of here I promise. And after I do I assure you that she won't be able to touch you or your friends ever again." Andrei said reassuringly.

To which Menendez stopped dead in her tracks then turned around and asked almost dumbly. "Come again?"

Andrei then stepped forward and leaned in close and said with an almost smug tone. "I said you won't be able to touch them ever again. Not after I've deputized them that is, which is very much within my power as the mayor of Paris. Regardless of what steps you try to take against it Menendez…you…have already…lost. Good day madam."

It was in this moment that Menendez realized that she was about to lose her chances of taking down Ladybug and her team. She became so frustrated with this news that she had someone take Chloe back to her cell, with the young lady in question laughing hysterically all the way back. After heading back to her office Menendez began to search through the local laws to see if he actually had the pull to make this happen. Surely enough it was possible as it plainly stated in black and white right on her computer screen. She then began to search to see if there was any kind of loop hole to put a stop to it, but found nothing of the sort, but it wasn't a total loss for her as she read a certain condition in this law which she had a feeling she could work with just fine. "I do believe that I can make this work to my advantage." She said with a grin. Just as she began to revel in this new discovery her phone began to ring, she wasted no time in answering it. "Menendez." She said as she answered the phone.

"Hello agent Menendez." The caller replied.

Elisa's eyes shot open with surprise as she heard who's voice it was. "Mr. Agreste? How did you get this number?"

Gabriel was quick to reply. "One of your fellow agents in Interpol was kind enough to acquire a direct line to talk to you."

"That wasn't a wise decision Mr. Agreste, we don't know if this line is secure." Menendez replied worrying for Gabriel's safety.

"Don't worry I'll be brief, I just need you to deliver a package to my son as quickly as you can. It should arrive to your office soon enough." Gabriel replied quickly just before he hung up. Menendez figured he did so in order to keep the call short to prevent it from being tracked. Around that same moment she heard a knock at her door.

"Enter." She called out. As the door opened wide in stepped Natalie holding a package.

"Are you agent Menendez?" She asked casually.

"That depends on whose asking." Menendez replied plainly.

Natalie gently set the package on the desk and said back calmly. "I'm Mr. Agreste's agent as well as his son's governess, my name is Natalie Sancoeur. If you don't believe me you can simply call Adrien and he'll confirm everything."

Menendez took a brief moment to call Adrien to confirm her story, once she was satisfied she then began to hear Natalie out. "Alright Ms. Sancoeur your story checks out, what exactly can I help you with?"

"Mr. Agreste asked me to give this to you, so that in turn you would give it to his son." She replied calmly. "Also that you'll need to heighten security for him at the next charity event he's to attend at the Italian embassy."

"Charity event? Oh no absolutely not. Not while there's a terrorist on the loose hunting for him and his father." Menendez stated trying to deny this plan.

But Natalie was quick to object. "While I understand the predicament Mr. Agreste has already promised Adrien will attend the gala. If he doesn't show for the event then the event will have to be called off in which case everyone who would've came to donate for this relief fund would pull out their investments."

"What exactly is this charity for?" Menendez asked bluntly.

"Does it really matter? It's meant to help those in need and we're trying to provide those less fortunate than us with anything they need anyway we can and your trying to sabotage that. I understand it's for Adrien's safety but I know Adrien well enough to know just how sensitive his heart is. If it's canceled because he was unable to attend he'll begin to blame himself and…" Natalie just kept on laying on the guilt, up till the point that Menendez was convinced. Not out of guilt however, mainly out of annoyance.

"Alright-alright I get your point. This is still a bad idea, but I will see to it that he get's there." She replied sharply. "I'll see to it that this package get's to Adrien. What's in it anyway?"

"Just something to help keep him, Marinette and Dallas safe." Natalie added just before she turned around and left the room.

Meanwhile back at his own place of imprisonment the Chameleon was desperately trying to escape his binds, but with no luck. It was clear to him that who ever it was who tied him up knew just what they were doing and made it quite impossible to escape without help. But that was only the tip of the iceberg, especially sense the one person who wanted him dead more than anything else in the world was more than likely on her way to try and kill him in that very moment. He was in a clear state of panic at that moment, his only goal was to escape as quickly as he could. Assuming that he could anyway, but he stopped in his tracks as he heard the doorknob crack. This is it, he thought, I'm as good as dead. Or so he thought, as the person who came into the room wasn't who he was expecting at all. They were male, mid to late twenties, with brown skin and short black hair. At first glance the assassin assumed that he was of Latino dissent, then he realized that he looked oddly similar to the boy who'd put out his eye.

"Who the hell are you?" Chameleon asked startling poor Simon who didn't even seem to notice the assassin at first.

"I could ask you the same question. To be honest I kind of thought I'd find my brother here, I guess I was wrong." He replied feeling a bit queasy as he saw what had been done to him. "Who did this to you?"

Chameleon just glared at Simon, he was about to give away the identity of his assailant when he got an idea. He figured that he could manipulate this guy into helping him escape before the black widow could arrive to end him. "I don't know the guy was wearing a mask the whole time, listen you gotta get me out of here before he comes back. That guy was off his damn rocker, spewing all sorts of crazy shit. And this may be just a hunch but I think you're brother might've been involved."

Simon's face lit up with shock at this statement. "What are you talking about?" He asked with confusion.

Bingo, Chameleon praised himself mentally. "The whole time they were torturing me he kept on talking to someone else, a kid I think. I never saw him though, he always stayed out of view of me speaking in some foreign language. Couldn't tell you which one though."

This didn't seem that strange to Simon that Dallas would resort to a different language than English, he did happen to study every last dialect of the native American tribes so it made sense that this stranger wouldn't make sense. "He might've been speaking in Lakota Saxon."

"Saxon? As in Indian talk?" The Chameleon asked for a conformation.

Much like Dallas, Simon was easily offended when people would refer to their race as Indian and immediately expressed to him how he felt about that. "Don't insult our people asshole, we're native Americans not Indians!"

"Oh well excuse me there Chief Geronimo." The assassin replied not exactly caring that he'd insulted Simon, even if it was only mildly so.

But Simon didn't care how little it was, and his anger grew a little more when he called him Geronimo. "And just for the record I'm not Apache I'm Lakota." He stated as he crossed his arms.

"There's a difference?" Chameleon asked in reply.

At this point Simon was just irritated with this guy and was starting to consider leaving him to his fate for his bigotry and racism. "You know I'm starting to realize why you're here is probably because you've earned it. So give me one good reason why I should even consider helping you."

Chameleon began to realize that he'd just screwed himself, but he could still convince this guy to help him by appealing to a certain weakness that most men in the world found themselves victims of. "Alright, how's about this then, you help me out of here and I'll pay you for it."

This caught Simon's attention rather quickly, and just as the Chameleon had hoped, Simon took the bait. "How much?" He asked plainly.

"I've literally got millions, you get me out of here and I'll pay you whatever you want. But only after you get me out of here of course." Chameleon replied plainly.

Simon thought about it for a minute, ultimately he came to the conclusion that he could use this guy's money to restart his gang a lot faster than he thought he could on his own. He saw this chance meeting as a blessing from out of nowhere. Simon nodded his head in agreement and said. "Alright I'll help you, but you'd better be straight up with me about this." Simon wasted no time in picking the locks holding the chains in place, it took him a few attempts mainly due to the fact that he was out of practice but he eventually managed to get the assassin free. "So do you have any idea why my little brother would be helping some guy torture you?"

"When you're in my particular line of work you tend to make a lot of enemies, most of which want to see me dead." Chameleon replied as he rubbed the soreness from his wrists. "Anyway kid thanks for helping me out of a tight spot."

"Yeah well don't forget that I didn't do that for my health. You promised me cash and I aim to collect." Simon replied bluntly.

"Yeah-yeah don't get your panties in a twist kid I all ways pay my debts. Just hand me that phone over there next to my gun and I'll wire you some cash." Chameleon stated as he stretched out his stiff joints, then he added on with. "Oh and while you're over there hand me my gun please."

Simon did as he asked and picked up his phone and the assassin's gun completely unaware of what he was planning to do with it. While Simon was under the impression that he was actually going to pay him for helping him out the assassin had a much different idea in mind as he intended to take Simon and use him as a message to send to Dallas. But just as Simon began to handover both items a couple of shots rang out from the doorway knocking both items out of his hands. Simon and the Chameleon jumped with fright then turned toward the door with shock, the Chameleon just froze as he bore witness to the sight of the Black widow of Chernobyl standing just a few feet away from him, gun drawn, mask off and trembling with rage and hatred. "Susan Wallace, AKA the Chameleon, at long last we've finally come to the final act of this performance." She said staring him down.

Upon hearing what She'd just called him the Chameleon just groaned with embarrassment, while Simon just started laughing uncontrollably. "Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute…your legal name is seriously Susan. Holy shit…HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…you're literally the man named Sue! Like in that song by Jonny Cash!"

"SHUT UP!" Valentina shouted at Simon. "Who the hell are you and why are you here?"

Simon had a feeling that this woman was actually and only there for the Chameleon, so he figured that if he didn't do anything stupid she might let him go. "My name is Simon…Simon Clearlake. I just came here looking for…" He began to explain until she interrupted him.

"Clearlake? You mean to say that…you're related to Dallas?" She asked, then she realized that she'd just given away the name of her lover right in front of her enemy.

"Oh so that was his name, well then in that case…" The Chameleon quickly lunged for Simon and put him in a choke hold using him as a human shield. "Looks like this just got a whole lot more interesting!"

He clearly did this thinking that Valentina would back off, especially if this guy was related to her boyfriend somehow. But he couldn't be more mistaken. "Hey what the hell are you doing?!" Simon cried.

"Shut the hell up kid! Now you listen to me Volkov, I don't know how you survived that fall all those years ago back in Chernobyl but that doesn't matter to me right now. But what does matter is that I'm betting that your boyfriend wouldn't be too happy if his brother ended up getting shot. So let's make a deal, I'll let him go on the account that you let me go and just tell whoever it was who hired you to off me that I got away. Or I just kill him and then we hash this out the old fashion way." Chameleon bargained with his rival. "So what do you say, deal?"

But Valentina wasn't interested in making any kinds of deals with this man in anyway, and now that she knew this was Simon Clearlake she wasn't actually swayed into letting him go. She just leveled her gun right for Chameleon's head and said. "No deal you little mu'dak!" Then she fired off a shot that went straight into his forearm just barely missing Simon's neck causing him to release Simon who quickly dropped to the floor and covered his head and just let Valentina do her thing.

"AH…FUCK! You little BITCH!" Chameleon cursed as he was just overwhelmed with pain.

"Seven years…" Valentina began to rant. "Seven long years I've waited to take my revenge on you, seven long years you've haunted my dreams, plagued my memories, filled me with so much pain! I hardly had anyone to help me through the loss of my parents back then! But after I found Dallas things got better, then I had his child and my life finally started to get back on track! But the only way I'll ever truly be able to live my life the way I want to live it again is if I kill you and finally put an end to all of this! And believe me when I say this I want you to suffer for it! I want you to suffer for every single second I've suffered over the years! But that would make me no better than you, I'd become a monster, AN animal just like you! So I'm going to do something that you would never have done for me given the chance, I'm going to do the honorable thing and make your death quick and painless!"

And with all of that finally said Valentina fired off one final shot hitting him in the heart, normally this kind of shot would've been pointless to make with his bulletproof suit. But that was one of the first things that had been taken away from him after being captured, so without his protection from the bullet Valentina's shot struck true drilling itself into his chest. In his last few seconds of life he clenched his chest in pain, then with his dying breath he smiled and said. "I was right…you really are your father's daughter." Then he dropped to his knees, then he doubled over collapsing to the floor.

Valentina just let out a sigh of relief, after so many years of hunting, fighting and plotting to kill him, she had finally gotten what she wanted. "Mother, father, Yurochka…I have avenged you all. Finally…justice has been served." She then fell to her own knees as she felt as though a great weight had just been lifted from her shoulders, she even felt at peace, but only for a moment as she remembered who else was in the room with her. She then turned her attention towards Simon and just glared with hatred. "Now…as for you!"
