In chapter 27 of Niagara14301's Once Upon a Time in Enchancia, Candice was rewarded for helping Queen Nola of Castlehaven by being named a knight of that kingdom, and earning the title of Dame, which is the term for a female knight. I thought it would be fun if, when he and the knights of Enchancia hear the news, James and Sir Maxwell lead them in a special sing-along. Candice really likes the song, even though she insists her new title isn't the kind of dame they're thinking of! South Pacific is not mine.

Candice was coming out to the knights' barracks after James told her that he and the knights had a surprise for her. Violet and Dorrie came with her, since they were just as interested in what was going to happen.

When they arrived at the knights' barracks, Candice called out, "James? You said to meet you out here, so here I am!"

"Mom and I are here too!" Dorrie called.

"Come on in!" James called. "As Mom so eloquently puts it, the more the merrier!"

Violet, Dorrie, and Candice entered the barracks, and the knights and James called together, "Surprise!"

"What's all this, then?" Violet asked over the applause.

"A celebration for Lady Candice," Sir Maxwell smiled. "We heard that she was named a knight of Castlehaven, and we wanted to do something special for her."

"Thank you! That was so nice of you," Candice smiled. "What do you have in mind?"

"A special song just for you," Sir Maxwell smiled.

"I should have guessed it was music related," Candice chuckled as James got a tape out and put it in his tape player.

"What can we say, lass?" Sir Finnegan smiled, "Prince James and Sir Maxwell love to sing!"

"Indeed we do," Sir Maxwell smiled.

"That's right!" James grinned. When the music started, he sang, We got sunlight on the sand,
We got moonlight on the sea,

Sir Maxwell joined in, We got mangos and bananas
We can pick right off a tree,

Sir Finnegan joined them, We got volleyball and ping-pong
And a lot of dandy games!
What ain't we got?

All the knights and James sang together as they knelt around Candice, We ain't got dames!

As they rose, Dorrie giggled, Candice rolled her eyes, and Violet chuckled, "Oh, Prince James, you and your talent for words!"

As Sir Bartelby took the next verse, he took Dorrie's hands in a dance as he sang, We get packages from home,
We get movies, we get shows,
We get speeches from our skipper
And advice from Tokyo Rose,

As he took Violet's hands in a dance, Sir Maxwell joined him, We get letters doused with perfume
We get dizzy from the smell!
What don't we get?

James and all the knights sang together, We know damn well!

"I knew it! I knew he was going to sing something like this!" Candice giggled as James took her hands in a dance. "All he had to do was hear about this, and he finds a song for me!"

"Well, James is known as the royal jukebox," Dorrie grinned.

"You know me so well!" James smiled.

Sir Finnegan smiled in agreement as he sang, We have nothin' to put on a clean white suit for
What we need is what there ain't no substitute for...

As they lifted Candice up on their shoulders, James and the knights sang together, There is nothin' like a dame,
Nothin' in the world,
There is nothin' you can name
That is anything like a dame!

"James, you know that 'dame' is also a term for a female knight!" Candice tried to look disapproving, but she couldn't help but laugh.

"I know!" James grinned as he and the knights put her down and he started the next verse, We feel restless, we feel blue,
We feel lonely, and in brief,

Sir Bartelby joined him, We feel ev'ry kind of feelin',
But the feeling of relief
We feel hungry as the wolf felt
When he met Red Riding-Hood

The knights and James lifted their partners off the ground as they sang together, What don't we feel?
We don't feel good!

Sir Maxwell kissed Dorrie's hand as he sang, Lots of things in life are beautiful, but brother,
There is one particular thing that is nothin' whatsoever
In any way, shape or form like any other.

As Violet, Dorrie, and Candice's smiles became more genuine, James and the knights sang together, There is nothin' like a dame,
Nothin' in the world,
There is nothin' you can name
That is anything like a dame!

"We have to tell King Roland about this," Violet chuckled as Sir Bartelby kissed her hand.

"Dad already knows," James smirked.

At the same time, Sir Maxwell and Sir Bartelby were singing together, Nothin' else is built the same,
Nothin' in the world

James joined in, As the soft and wavy frame
Like the silhouette of a dame!

As he kissed her hand, Sir Finnegan sang to Candice, There is absolutely nothin' like the frame of a dame.

"I'm sorry; I can't sing that low!" James smiled sheepishly when he heard Sir Finnegan's voice drop lower than the other knights'.

"You're doing just fine, lad," Sir Finnegan chuckled, ruffling his hair.

"Indeed," Violet smiled.

"You just do the best you can," Dorrie smiled.

"Okay!" James grinned as he started the next verse, So suppose a dame ain't right
Or completely free from flaws,

Sir Bartelby joined him, Or as faithful as a bird dog,
Or as kind as Santa Claus,

Sir Maxwell joined them, It's a waste of time to worry
Over things that they have not,
Be thankful for the things they got!

"I think a game of 'Let's Get James' is in order, but not now!" Candice whispered.

"I agree, but let's enjoy this little tribute to you, Dame Candice," Dorrie smiled.

"First things first!" James grinned. He danced with Candice again as he sang, There is nothin' you can name
That is anythin' like a dame!

As he gave Violet another spin, Sir Maxwell sang, There are no books like a dame,
And nothin' looks like a dame.

As he lifted Dorrie, Sir Bartelby joined in, There are no drinks like a dame,
And nothin' thinks like a dame,

Sir Finnegan joined in, Nothin' acts like a dame,
Or attracts like a dame.

All the knights and James finished the song together, There ain't a thing that's wrong with any man here
That can't be cured by putting him near
A girly, womanly, female, feminine dame!

"Thank you!" Candice smiled as she, Dorrie, and Violet applauded.

"Anything for one of our favorite dames," James grinned.

"Dame as in female knight!" Candice giggled as she started playfully running at him.

"Prince James can handle this by himself, right, lads?" Sir Finnegan chuckled.

"He'll be fine," Sir Bartelby agreed as Candice chased James out of the barracks.

"Indeed," Sir Maxwell smiled. "He doesn't need us for this."

"Okay! We'll see you later!" James called over his shoulder as he tried to run from Candice.

"Never a dull moment in Enchancia, right, Dorrie?" Violet chuckled as she and Dorrie left the barracks.

"Right!" Dorrie smiled in agreement.
