The music swelled and Walburga walked slowly into the room. Left, right, left, right. It was all she could do was to keep focused on walking, on breathing. Orion was waiting for her at the alter. She could feel his eyes on her, could feel her own heart pounding in her chest.

She hadn't agreed to this. She hadn't had a say in this. The arrangement had been made before she'd even spoken her first word. Blood had to be kept pure, didn't it? Orion was a very powerful man, a man older than herself, but everyone said they would be a good match. She didn't think so.

She could feel the way he stared at her. Left, right, left, right. Today she would become Mrs. Orion Black, today she would lose herself and become exactly what her family wanted her to be – until death do they part.
